Places to stay in Shropshire
Xidong is a cottage converted from an old stone and timber cowshed with a Japanese theme. It sleeps two people and has a hot-tub in the enclosed garden, which is available to use all the year round. More information and details of the cottage can be found on our website.
The cottage is spacious and serene with an oriental flavour. The kitchen is well appointed and there is an amazing and unusual wet room. Pets are welcome and are charged £20 extra per animal.
The cottage is situated in a very quiet and tranquil area of South Shropshire. The scenery is stunning; there are interesting places to visit from castles to gardens, woods and forts. There are plenty of excellent restaurants being near to the old historical food centre of Britain - Ludlow. You can walk for miles on well signposted footpaths and cycle either on the quiet lanes or mountain biking in the local forestry.
  • I would highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone looking for piece and quiet.

  • Perfect place for a relaxing break. Really appreciated the homemade goodies and underfloor heating. Couldn't have asked for a nicer week with great weather and scenery. Thank you very much

  • Thank you for the perfect escapism. The cottage was perfect for two and very cosy with the log fire and heating flooring for us and the dog. We would definitely return for another trip and recommend it to friends.

  • Xidong is a beautiful and stylish little cottage. Great for this time of year with the fire place and hot tub! Becky was a fantastic host, she provided us with fresh eggs/milk/bread and even picked us up from the train station! We spent most of our time exploring the country side and ending up walking for miles! Highly recommended to everyone!

    Alexandra2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very relaxing stay at this querky barn conversion, very clean inside and out. The hot tub was fantastic and the dog loved the underfloor heating. There are some nice walks in the area if you are into that.

    Adi2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place! The cottage is a lot larger than it appears on the photos and the surroundings are beautiful! Hot tub was an added bonus! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Amy2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is the perfect little place if you’re looking to relax and escape for a short break. They’ve utilised the space so well and the underfloor heating meant we were toasty during our December stay. The garden is absolutely glorious and must be a real sight in warmer weather! Becky was the perfect host, respecting our privacy despite being so close by, with a lot of attention to detail, leaving bath robes for the hot tub and butter, milk and eggs on arrival. A home away from home!

  • Refreshingly different. Very peaceful and relaxing. Not many tv channels so perhaps an idea to take DVDs.

  • A gorgeous lodge in a brilliant location! It was lovely to look out of the window to see the steam trains of the Severn Valley Railway, sheep with their new baby lambs and watch the sunset behind the trees. Luke was a great host and was quick to respond to all our enquires. The lodge was everything we imagined it would be from reading the great reviews! It had everything we needed and we look forward to returning again soon!

    Chris2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place, perfect for a relaxing, tranquil time to unwind. Amazing little fire to warm up after spending time walking around the Severn and Bewdley. Hot tub was brilliant and Luke was a top host.

    Phil2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Well.....where do I start? My girlfriend and I were looking for a place for my birthday weekend and we’d had our heart on Luke’s little cabin for a while before reserving. How glad we are that we did! Nestled away in a rural farm Luke’s place was everything we wanted. Check in was swift and although Luke could not meet us, he sent all the information we needed in advance. The cabin itself is gorgeous, and is easily comfortable for 2 people to have a cosy stay. The log-fire adds a wonderful touch and the choice of DVD’s is extensive! It was lovely to curl up for a scary movie night. We were able to cook in the kitchen with all the utensils and tea towels we could need being provided. The hot tub was the main attraction for us and to enjoy this at night time with the garden all lit up was lovely. Luke really does have a gem here and for the price it was absolutely fantastic. I will recommend this place to all my family and friends, and to anyone thinking about booking...do it and I’m sure you’ll love it as much we did! We’ll definitely be returning.

    Rob2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Luke was a great host, responding to my messages really quick. The place was spotless and the log fire had been lit ready for our arrival. Great cosy atmosphere. Definitely worth every penny, we took 2 little dogs with us and didn't have to pay any extra like most other hosts charge, would highly reccomend and will be looking forward to returning! 😊

    Corey2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely secluded cabin a pleasant walk along the river outside of Bewdley. Small but perfectly formed with everything you need in one cosy private space.

    Jenny2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin for a few nights away. Stocked with everything we needed - coffee, wood for the burner, a HUGE dvd collection, and even the thoughtful touch of a towel for running from the hot tub! Great communication from Luke and very easy checkin.

    Hannah2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great little hideaway on the side of a hill overlooking the forest, with the river seven behind it. Log burner was brilliant! Actually enjoyed getting it going in the morning. Felt really tucked away, hardly saw anyone and was perfect for somewhere to get away from town life. Hot tub nice and hot when we arrived, fire already going.....and the dvd collection is impressive, so is the tv and DVD player tucked away behind a wooden door on the front porch so you can chill out in the hot tub and have your girlfriend try to break the record for the most romantic comedies watched over 3 days......

  • We stayed at Penny's Star Dome as as a extension to our Honeymoon. One with our Labrador in tow this time! Despite it being a heatwave Penny did the best she could to cool the dome for us in preparation and left us with a fan. We We mostly spent the evenings in and around the Dome due to the heat in the day! Beautiful setting so quiet and peaceful nicely situated. Our dog especially loved laying on the balcony and watching the birds. All the amenities you need are there. We were advised the best walks and given some tips on check in. We enjoyed a thunder & lightning storm from the dome in the early hours which was beautiful. To be honest we only wished we had booked to stay longer. Thank you

    Laura2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Star Dome and it was just lovely! Comfortable bed and amazing to hear the animals all day and night too. We were able to chill outside for the first night which was great with the gas fire pit and the BBQ worked a treat! It does get cold during the night when the fire goes out so the electric blanket was amazing! We made use of the games and played Monopoly and got fish and chips in nearby Clee Hill which were excellent. We didn’t use the hot tub (bring sandals if you do though as the path is made of small stones) All in all, a really relaxing stay which we both LOVED but if you’re scared of the dark and being very remote, it’s maybe not for you!

    Yvonne2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous place, in the middle of the woods, with great views. If the weather is good you have a lovely balcony to sit on, have a drink and admire the scenery, if the weather isn't so good ( it decided to snow the day after i got there, in April!) then you have a great big window to look out of. Light the fire early though, if your there when its chilly, and put the electric blanket on at night. I loved waking up to hear all the birds, you are right in the middle of nature, and there are some lovely walks in the woods right on your doorstep. Penny gets back to you right away if you have any questions, its a lot easier to find than i thought but you are no where near a main road, which is fab. Hope to stay again next year.

    Jayne2019-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • 5* amenities, every home comfort has been taken into account. Glamping at it's finest!

    Galia2019-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The dome is such a cool place to stay, very clean and with great amenities. We stayed for two nights between Xmas and New Year and weren’t cold at all. We had the fire roaring throughout and the heated blanket on the bed was great too. The hot tub is a really nice touch, and I can only imagine how nice it would be to use the bbq and rattan furniture during the summer months. We felt very relaxed during our time in the dome. Fern recommended that we spent a day in Ludlow which was really nice, and visited Titterstone Clee Hill on the way back. Such beautiful views just 5 mins from the dome. We also had dinner one night at the Hopton Crown pub, which was also nice and only 10 mins away. Overall, a brilliant stay. Thanks.

    Elizabeth And Lee2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely dome with beautiful views. The decor in the dome is really nice and everything you need is there! The fire was nice and relaxing and the hot tub was a nice touch. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. It was rather cold at times so would suggest going in the warmer months if that would be an issue for you. Our dog was welcomed and she loved it there!

The Stiperstones National Nature Reserve, the Long Mynd and a wealth of other hidden gems in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty await you. Nearby is another heritage hotpot, the Bog Centre and down the road the wonderful Stiperstones Inn, serving great food and providing a warm welcome which we highly recommend Excellent downhill single-track, as well as easier grade mountain biking, is on the doorstep in Eastridge Woods.

  • The first thing I thought when I saw the flat was "I wish we were staying longer" It is a great space and the whole place is sparkling clean. The bathroom and kitchen are especially lovely. The location is fantastic - right in the centre of Shrewsbury so everything is right on the doorstep. If we go back to Shrewsbury again this will be one of the first Airbnb properties we will be checking for availability.

    Kathryn2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This flat is brilliantly central for Shrewsbury. Everywhere was a really easy walk. We drove across the river and parked on a quiet residential street so didn’t have to pay for parking. Plenty of space in the flat. Wi-fi was good Bed was comfy. Bathroom small but perfectly formed. Finding tea, coffee and sugar when we arrived was really helpful. We just had to pop out for a pint of milk and we were all set. Key pick up was easy. Sue met us at exactly the right time, exactly where expected and showed us how everything worked. Key drop off was simple too. If you’re eating out, The Olive Tree - 5 minute walk over the river - was absolutely brilliant with great cocktails, lovely tapas and a sun trap outdoor space with blankets and shade. Lovely. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

  • Ash lodge is set in an idyllic setting. The lodge was spacious and super sparkling clean. We had a bottle of fizz on arrival! :-) Hot tub was just perfect day and night! We had a peaceful and relaxing stay. Lovely touch with the bird feeders. Great to see so many birds from the decking. Super hosts who we met a few times and with their cutie dog called Rosie. Highly recommend and will be telling others about it. Many thanks ;-)

  • Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a few nights for my boyfriends 21st and have an amazing time. The lodge is stunning inside and out with great countryside views. All the little things have been thought about and you can tell how much care Phil and Sue have put into this place. The hot tub was of course our favourite part of the stay, and the lodge it’s self is in a great location near plenty of shops and pubs. We can’t wait to return and have already recommended this place to our friends.

    Izzie2019-11-15T00:00:00Z

Following our wedding, we stayed here for 4 nights, and it was the perfect peaceful, relaxing time needed following such a big life event. From beautiful countryside walks, to great local pubs, and lovely little touches inside the lodge, we couldn't have wished for a better few days together as a newly married couple. Thanks Phil and Sue - I think we are addicted to hot tubs at sunset now!

The fact the hot tub is always on so you can jump in anytime of the day or night was very welcome. The Hundred House Inn (pub) up the road was very homely and did excellent food. Relax in our garden house in rural Shropshire. You'll be greeted by curious cats and chickens...and probably Allan and me. There's some fabulous walks, a lovely local and some pretty market towns all within easy reach. There's also plenty to read and lots of interesting CDs to play if you prefer.
Our fabulous wooden chalet is completely self contained...and you can come and go as you please. The chalet comprises a bedroom, a shower room with a loo and a living room. There's also a small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and sink. The bed is a double bed and our chalet is most comfortable with one or two guests. We like reading and listening to music so you'll find lots of books, and a wall of CDs in the living room. We can guarantee there'll be music that you've never heard before there. You are, of course, welcome to play the music and read the books but please don't be tempted to take any with you when you leave. There's no TV, but there's WiFi. Oh, and do look up...we hope you like our chandelier.
Snailbeach is small lead mining village in the heart of the South Shropshire hills. The miners have long since left, but the Victorian buildings still stand and are looked after by the Shropshire Mines Trust. From Snailbeach you can explore the Stiperstones, try some splendid real ale in Bishop's Castle or visit Shrewsbury's shops. Or you can throw caution to the winds and go mountain biking. Bring your own bike! Shropshire is such a beautiful place it's hard to know where to start describing the best bits. Come to stay, tell us what you like best and we'll point you in the right direction. Do try to visit our local pub while you're staying, it's great. You'll find some leaflets about the local area and a very fine book written by a local chap detailing walks all over the county. Check out Elsie's walk...she was the village post lady and her daughter lives just across the road. If you're into knitting, there's a Knit'nNatter at the pub on a Tuesday morning (with cake) and some fantastic guerrilla knitting in Bishop's Castle. And there's also a very good Morris dance team there too...
  • Genevieve’s place was great! Full of charm and well located for hiking and walking through the beautiful surroundings! Allan was very helpful and friendly! We definitely recommend!

    Jose2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a unique, quirky place to say with so many homely and thoughtful touches to welcome you. Astounding scenery in the local area... you can walk up to the Stiperstones literally within a stones throw of the cabin. Hosts provide a wealth of information and their advice is worth heeding to particularly pub recommendations for food and eats. Somewhat chilly in these early months of the year but we can imagine pure bliss in the long summer evenings. A hot water bottle, lots of blankets as well as furry feline friend's and an epic cd collection are a recipe to keep you warm though! Candle lanterns in the trees appeared at the end of each day when we arrived back after our evening meal too!! A home from home! Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

    Lucy2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time staying in an airbnb and I think the bar has been set high for future stays! When we arrived we were upgraded to the cottage which was absolutely lovely. It was very homely and had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed the fresh milk, bread and muffins. We had a great time walking up long mynd and exploring the old mines. It made my partner's birthday very special! Thank you Genevieve and Allan :)

    Lily2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely quiet retreat, a short drive from local amenities, right next to the Shropshire way for walks. Interesting to look around the old mine too. Great to have some bread and milk ready and the muffins were delicious!

The Barn at Lees Farm is Nestled in the centre of the UNESCO World Heritage Site - The Ironbridge Gorge. This rural retreat offers annex accommodation attached to a barn dating from 1830. Fantastic position for Geo-caching, Walking, Mountain Biking and Canoeing. It is very peaceful and relaxing. We are dog friendly, please contact me for charges.
The Annex has one bedroom with a double bed and a small sofa bed (one adult or two children. Is a double but a cosy one!) in the living area. Travel cot available. Space outside is shared with the main barn, privacy is respected and the garden has separate areas. The hot tub is in an enclosed area - The hot tub is an extra charge of £30 this includes enough wood (I provide kiln dried) to heat the tub for the first heat. It is around 1-2 bags per heat for the next or subsequent days charged at £5 per bag. I can have the hot tub lit ready for your arrival for £60 (if you decide not to use the hot tub you will still need to pay the £60) If you wish to bring your own wood then a charge of £20 will still be made to cover the costs of making the hot tub ready. I use 3-4 bags of kiln dried to ensure 3 hour heat time. The hot tub gets VERY hot and water temp cannot be regulated as it is wood fired. It is a two person hot tub and we don't recommend it for young children. Please do not let children play around the hot tub area. Having the Hot Tub lit ready for you may depend on my availability on the day. PEASE NOTE - IF YOU HAVE REQUESTED THAT THE HOT TUB IS HEATED FOR YOUR ARRIVAL, IT WILL BE AT THE CORRECT TEMP THE ETA /TIME GIVEN/REQUESTED. As is it wood fired it will retain some heat but will not stay warm for hours should you decide not to use it. It will need re-lighting.
VERY close to Ironbridge. 20 minute drive to Shrewsbury Blists Hill Victorian Town is in walking distance.
  • Beautiful place, very high spec and wonderful hot tub. Emma is a warm host with a lovely menagerie of animals, a thoughtful nature and a magical middle-of-nowhere hide away.

Our cottage is situated at the top of the mountain overlooking the Ceiriog Valley and Berwyn mountains. It is ideal for romantic breaks or just to relax and unwind making use of your own private hot tub after long walks in the hills. A mere four miles from Llangollen you'll find a great base to make the most of all the fantastic outdoor activities and places to visit that we have to offer in the local area and further afield in North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.
Guests have access to the garden and lawn area, but we encourage guests to exercise their pets OFF the premises as there are children who use this lawned area from time to time.
In terms of the neighbourhood we're surrounded by fields, so the majority of our neighbours are sheep. Other than the livestock there are two other properties further up the road and a log cabin within the grounds so you may occasionally see other guests. But that's pretty much it, so as you can imagine the neighbourhood is quiet and relaxing.
  • I can’t describe how wonderful our stay was at Pen Y Fedw cottage. The views are amazing. The place is spotless and with plenty of little extra touches you didn’t know you needed you can fully relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Sharon and Dave absolutely made our stay even more magical, the most gracious hosts, full of genuine care and knowledge. We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. We can not wait to rebook x

  • Cosy little cottage with beautiful landscape views. This is a perfect place for a getaway and a relaxing break. The hot tub is great and Sharon and Dave look after you so well - homemade scone on arrival was delicious! There are lots of nice walks and cosy local pubs and restaurants to visit nearby. Highly recommend this place!

    Matthew2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Pen-Y-Fedw Cottage. A little gem on top of a beautiful mountain. A huge thank you to Sharon and Dave for allowing us to share your wonderful country cottage. The most amazing hosts who have spoilt us with hospitality and ‘to die for’ home made Welsh cakes and scones. If you are looking for calm, tranquility and a total escape for a few days, this is the place to visit. It is also a wonderful base to return to after a day of exploring the Welsh country. The hot tub is fantastic as is the charm of this quaint cottage. We were also shown around the new quirky log cabin, which we will definitely be booking next time. There is something to suit everyone here, ranging from the hot tubs, country walks, sight seeing, nature or just good old fashioned romance. Once again a big thank you to Sharon and Dave. Regards Martine & Darren, Swinton, Manchester.

  • If you want a place that is away from the stresses of life, this is the place for you. Sharon and David are very caring hosts, paying attention to all the touches that will make your stay wonderful. Thank you for the cream tea on arrival Sharon! The Hot Tub is a must. We were there in February, the tub was beautifully clean and warm making a lovely relaxing end to a wet and windy day.

    Sue2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 2 night stay at Sharon and Dave's cottage and it was lovely!

  • Fantastic space, very luxurious with everything you need and more! The weather was horrific, however it meant that we didn’t feel guilty staying in and getting cosy in front of the fire and the electric blanket, hot water bottles and robes were very much appreciated! Can’t wait to visit in better weather so we can make full use of the outdoor facilities!

    Hannah2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and secluded getaway, the perfect option if you love being out in nature but still want creature comforts. Very cosy and full of thoughtful little touches like hot water bottles, dressing gowns, DVDs and board games. We didn't venture out much during our 2 night stay due to bad weather but were perfectly happy reading next to the log burner. Have recommended staying at the Tree Dome to so many people already and we're definitely planning on coming back in the summer to make the most of the beautiful outdoor space.

  • Me and my friends really loved Tom's cottage, an ideal space / size for a cozy weekend away with a partner of a few friends, we had some lovely evenings playing board games by the fire and cooking together. The cottage had everything that we needed, it's stylish, comfortable and is in a lovely area. We didn't had much opportunity to use the outside space due to bad weather but we had a lovely trip, enjoyed some short walk (due to the wind and rain), local pub visits and trips to nearby villages. The Bottle and Glass is a lovely pub, and the staff are very friendly. Tom was helpful through and we would love to stay again. A lovely pretty, quiet spot for relaxing few days in the countryside.

  • Gorgeous place in idyllic location! Beautifully fitted out and kept, perfect for a “get away from it all” holiday with all creature comforts! Everything works very well, even the brilliant rain-showers, what a treat ( no temperature variation, no sudden drop of water pressure) ! We stayed over Christmas, the place was warm and cosy. Very stylish and beautiful without being too precious, just right. Excellent wood burner, plenty of logs. Lovely little terrace and firebowl, nice gardens, we imagined it being superb in summer. The Shropshire Hills and especially the area around Nest are very beautiful, plenty to do and see. NT’s Carding Mill Valley is vey close and perfect for walk and tea/cake after.

  • We had an amazing time at the lake house! You can not see and appreciate the beauty of the property and the location until you get there. There is not even one thing we can complain about our weekend vacation. Lynne was amazing, she welcomed us at the property, navigated us and also lest us coffee/milk and fresh cake! I can't describe how clean was the property! Spotless! If you want a beautiful house on the lake, that is your place! Very quiet and relaxing place to be. Waking up in the morning all you hear is birds singing, and having your coffee outside watching the birds/ducks was just the best! Only an hour away from us, which would make this place our weekend holiday home from now on! Thank you again for the great hospitality. Martin

  • This is a lovely place to stay - you feel immediately calm. It's clean and spacious and well decorated. You feel isolated and like you're away from all the stress of the world. There's a real sense of homeliness and even though it's very much in the English countryside, you feel like you're on holiday abroad. The lake is beautiful and it was so nice watching the birds. Lynne left us tea and cake which was very tasty, and there is bath soak for a relaxing bath (may or may not have spent 3 hours in there). The bed is a big cosy cloud. We were desperate to stay another night and can't wait to come back!

    Albany2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The whole process of booking to stay was smooth. Lynne was very good at answering queries no matter how small they were. The location is fantastic and it is so private. The lake house itself was lovely and clean with all amenities you will need. We will be coming back again soon.

Long Wood Lodges provides a luxury 2 bedroom (4 berth) wooden lodge that has been purpose built in a 10 acre plot, high on the edge of Reeves & Stonewall Hill just outside Knighton, Mid Wales, where you will enjoy Panoramic views across rolling countryside viewable from either the comfort of the lounge area with the log burner roaring in the corner or from the decking, were the hot tub looks out over the valley below, simply sit back and relax and enjoy the views, bird song and the stars.
It is a predominantly rural area with excellent dark skies for star gazing, on a clear night the Milky Way is clearly visible, the Space guard Centre (small observatory) is less than 0.5 miles along the road and well worth a visit, while being a rural location, you also have easy access to more major towns & cities, country life is why people come and visit and in many cases return year on year or even move to this beautiful unspoiled area to escape the ‘rat race’ and take life at a slower more enjoyable pace. The lodge is situated in a 10-acre plot where children as well as the more adventurous adults can play and explore the countryside.
Nearby are many excellent walks with the famous Offa’s Dyke running through Knighton (Tref-y-Clawdd, meaning the town on the Dyke), the tourist office, situated within the Offa’s Dyke visitors centre in Knighton offers excellent advice. Knighton is approx 2 miles from the property and has multiple pubs also serving great meals, a wonderful Gin /Wine bar 'The Banc' , not to mention a variety of cafes and shops. For the more adventurous there are many bike trails with the 'black' downhill mountain bike run at Hopton Woods about 5 miles away (we can arrange drop off or pick-ups with your bikes and we have free mountain bike jet washing facilities on-site) not to mention the many horse-riding trails and centres, rally driving and canoeing all within easy reach. Days out can include a visit to the nearby historic towns of Ludlow or Hay-on-Wye both having many festivals and celebrations throughout the year, as well as many local shops, bars and restaurants. A trip to nearby Rhayader is also highly recommended to marvel at the damns in Ellan Valley or visit the Red Kite Feeding Station & Rehabilitation Centre. There are many famous landmarks in the area with Powys Castle, Ludlow Castle & Croft Castle, not to mention some great walking trails at Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd, Radnor Forest and Mortimer’s Forest to name but a few, or just come, sit back and relax and enjoy the views, bird song and the stars.
  • Perfect getaway! Lovely hosts, lovely animals, lovely hot tub and the most beautiful views. Couldn’t have asked for more!

  • This is an amazing find, great location for exploring and the lodge is faultless. They have put everything in you would require for a great stay , and that includes stuff for families . My teen and 9yold enjoyed exploring the extensive fields, woods and stream and did just what kids are suppose to do. Whilst I enjoy the fresh spring water hot tub with a cold glass of sparkling. Ladies pack your beauty gear and make this a mini spa retreat . Can’t fault it .

While we are fighting Coronavirus it will be self check in to protect all of us , I am only next door should you need anything at all. Beautiful cottage set in the Shropshire hills, a wonderful getaway from life’s stress. The cottage is a great spot for walkers.
Milk tea, coffee and porridge are provided
  • We recently stayed at this place and really liked it. It was just one night after long drive so the house provided us with plenty of rest and relaxation. The bed and sofa are nice and comfy and the linen was freshly clean. The kitchen and bathroom were also spotless. The main feature of the house were lounge windows that give you marvellous views day and night. It is a great find on the way to Snowdonia. The communication was super quick and straightforward: we were given all directions and offered self check in late at night. I would definitely recommend. Thank you for having us!

    Elena2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fantastic, the view of the mountains, a unique park nearby, the house is thought out to the smallest detail, the settlement is very clear and welcoming!   The hostess took care of all the little things. A real break from the hustle and bustle

A cosy cottage situated in the rolling Shropshire countryside. The interior is light and airy with exposed original stone walls which give a nod to this property’s history as a cattle barn.
The living room provides a luxurious space with a comfy sofa bed, Queen Anne style armchair and an Aga log burning stove to keep you warm on even the coldest of evenings. The large kitchen has dining space for four guests and upstairs you will find a double ottoman style bed with en-suite bathroom.
The property is not overlooked and has a private patio area and garden. It is also located on a public footpath and so guests can take a countryside walk without even having to cross a road. Lilleshall Golf Club and Lilleshall National Sports Centre are just a stones throw away from the property and provide a variety of sports and leisure activities.
  • Perfect relaxing stay, lovely sitting by the fire and really enjoyed the hot tub!

    David2020-03-11T00:00:00Z

  • The Stables is a lovely place to stay. Andy was a brilliant host, nothing was too much trouble and there were some lovely little touches like chicken eggs from the local farm. The property itself has been renovated to a very high standard and comes complete with everything you’d ever need. Peaceful location with an amazing hot tub. We had a really lovely stay. Highly recommended.

It's this mix of seclusion yet close proximity to local amenities that really sets us apart. Search for Oaks Lodge in Shropshire on Trip Advisor and read the wonderful reviews left by our guests. PLEASE NOTE: Our prices are higher on Airbnb due to the Extenuating Circumstances Policy, feel free to chose the booking platform that best suits your requirements.
For more guest opinions about Oaks Lodge please take a look at all our reviews on Trip Advisor. Please call or text - O seventy-seven eighty-two, then 25, 92 and thirty-one - or 'Contact the Owner' and Sara will happily discuss your requirements. Welcome to Oaks Lodge, your luxury lodge nestled in a 1/3 acre woodland dingle beneath a canopy of oak trees. Unwind in your Jacuzzi spa, surrounded by the natural beauty of mature oaks and the lodge's modern western red cedar cladding, whilst listening to the soothing background trickle of the stream as it meanders beneath you. Sit back and relax with an evening drink on the composite decking, warmed by the Burda electric heater, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and often squirrels chasing each other around the branches of the oak trees. Oaks Lodge is accessed from a dedicated parking area by a gravel path (approximately 80m long) located along the lower level of the owners' secluded, tiered garden. As you walk along the pathway, lit by floor level LEDs, through carefully chosen shrubs and planted slopes and pass through a gateway of two magnificent oak trees, you gain your first glimpse of the lodge; the elevated balcony and front windows with the stream below flowing gently from the waterfall behind (except in periods of low rainfall). It's a truly unique and magical space and yet only a short walk into the middle of Church Stretton town with its eateries, independent specialist shops and attractions. After a day's activities you can Retreat into your personal haven and relax. Oaks Lodge has been designed with luxury and pampering in mind, yet is offered with a realistic price tag. We want you to enjoy your stay with us, whether you are planning a romantic getaway or mini-moon, an activity break or simply some time to yourselves. From your elevated private balcony and hot tub, you can enjoy wonderful views, through the trees, of the Long Mynd and areas of the town. It's hard to believe that Oaks Lodge is only five minutes' walk away from the train station and a few minutes more into the centre of Church Stretton. It's this mix of seclusion yet close proximity to local amenities that really sets Oaks Lodge apart. We believe the little things make the biggest memories. Inside, we have striven to provide everything you might expect from a luxurious getaway: underfloor heating, a cosy flame-effect fire, a fully-equipped kitchen, powerful rain shower, super king bed and outdoor Hot Tub are just some of the touches that we believe will make your stay extra special. As we are a small, family run enterprise, we are always on hand to give you advice, if wanted and help, when needed. Our goal is to ensure that you have an unforgettable time at Oaks Lodge. • A light, bright and beautiful space situated in a stunning spot. Fantastic location to walk out of the door and go on some great walks. Don't forgot to visit Ludlow for some foody treats!

  • Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful accommodation, the view was absolutely outstanding and was so peaceful it's exactly what we wanted, your cottage was beautifully cleaned and just so stylish we will definitely return ❤️ thank you again

  • A delightful, clean and comfortable place with an absolutely stunning view. Everything we needed to self cater was there and the shower was hot and powerful, which is just what you need after a chilly walk. The location is perfect for roaming the Shropshire hills and Clun has three walkable pubs with great local ales. Perfect stay.

    Peter2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, peaceful place to stay. The views from the window are sublime. Despite it being a crisp 1C in the morning, it didn’t stop us making the most of the views from the revolving Wendy house with our coffee. The host was lovely too. Would recommend a walk up the Long Mynd from church stretton a short drive away, or a trip to the very picturesque town of Ludlow.

    Henry2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location in hills near Clun. We loved the comfortable 2 bed house with its stunning views. Mags and Roger were great hosts and welcomed us in with cake! That was a lovely touch. The house was well equipped and we were provided with tea and coffeeThe place was exceptionally clean with a modern interior.

    Karen2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful weekend away, it’s a perfect quiet retreat, truly idyllic! We loved our time here and will definitely book again. In particular; the incredible modern shower, great kitchen/living room set up and ample parking. We’ll certainly be back for some more stomps in the Shropshire hills! Both brilliant hosts ⭐️ 100% recommend!

  • Had a lovely stay here in November. Great location and the spa is a great addition. Lovely pub just round the corner which we ate in on Friday night. It was perfect and completed our weekend after I had proposed on the top of Mount Snowdon! Thanks, Rachel! Greg and Siobhan

  • A fantastic place to relax with everything you need, great space with fantastic facilities.

    Adam2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at The Granary! The whole experience was so easy and so relaxing. From the lovely accommodation, to the huge book of tips for the local area and information we might need, the whole trip was just perfect. The spa was so relaxing, and it was amazing to be able to go for a swim everyday. It wasn't busy at all, and we had the pool to ourselves most of the time, managing to share it with the other guests on site. The location is perfect, and only 20 minutes outside of Shrewsbury. We will definitely be back again!

    Ellen2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place in a spectacular rural setting, close to many attractions. The on-site spa is a wonderful extra. Rachel could not have been more hospitable, the cottage and its contents were spotless and everything necessary was provided. The whole experience was a model of how great airbnb can be at its best. Just one note: the Granary (one of the three cottages on site) is up a steep flight of outdoor steps and would be difficult for anyone mobility impaired.

The annex at 44 Belvidere Road in Shrewsbury is part of our large detached family home, but completely separate with its own entrance door. All newly refurbished with oak floors and doors, new kitchen and bathroom and new carpet in the bedroom. We are situated in a nice residential area to the east side of the medieval town of Shrewsbury.. Large discount for 7 night bookings, discounts sometimes available for 3 nights or more. Please contact us for availability.
Perfect for solo travellers, couples and can also accommodate 4 people at a squeeze. The bathroom is situated off the bedroom, so maybe not ideal for 2 couples, but fine for a family with children who are happy to share the sofa bed while on holiday. It has a well equipped kitchen with a Bosch electric oven and Bosch gas hob, integrated fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. Everything you need to cater for yourselves is included (except food!) We have parking available on our spacious drive and amenities close at hand (Sainsbury's Local, several pubs and the Lord Hill Hotel are all within a 10 minute walk). If you're planning on visiting for business then the Shirehall is a 5 minute walk and the Shrewsbury Business Park is a short drive away.
We live in a nice residential area and expect guests to treat our neighbours and surrounding areas with respect.
  • Great communications with the host. Perfectly located for visiting Shrewsbury town centre and if you go out at night there it’s only £4.70 in a cab and just a few mins drive. Modern, spacious and spotlessly clean apartment ideal for a couple like ourselves who needed a base in Shrewsbury for a night away. Would highly recommend.

Welcome to No. 16! The cottage is comfortable and homely inside...and we're pleased to tell you our shabby porch has been totally rebuilt! (hurrah!) and painted (hurrah!) It's somewhere you can put wet coats and leave muddy boots, then go into the kitchen for a cup of tea. You'll find all you need for your stay, including teas, coffee, bread, butter, jam and cereals. There's a Calor gas range cooker, a microwave, pots, pans, cutlery and stuff too.
This is a beautifully restored mining cottage in the south Shropshire hills. There's a lovely garden, and loads to explore around the area. We are trying to work towards being as green as possible, and trying to cut back on single use plastic, but as we've bought some things in bulk (bin bags and suchlike) we're not there yet. The milk comes in glass bottles from a local dairy, it's organic and not homogenised, so shake the bottle or use the top of the milk on your cereal. Please don't dispose of the bottle or the cap. We are able to refill them at Hignett's in Pontesbury. The butter we provide is organic, too. Marmalade and jam are home made ( the jam is usually made with fruit from the garden - but I've not been able to grow Seville oranges...) We will keep trying to improve on our carbon footprint!
Snailbeach was a lead mining village. Work ceased in the mid sixties, and since then the Shropshire Mines Trust have been taking care of the buildings that still stand and offer occasional trips down the mines. Just up the hill from us is Hollywood...a grove of holly trees which are in the region of 400 years old. Carry on walking and you'll reach the Stiperstones...a quartzite ridge 480 million years old. It's really amazing round here...
  • Loved it. Will be back for sure.

  • Second time staying at Genevieve's place. Had a wonderful time as last time. The cottage was warm & cosy with bread and muffins left for us to enjoy during our stay, as well as a great selection of tea, coffee and a large bottle of milk. The location is great for Shrewsbury and the surrounding countryside and definitely makes for a quiet weekend away. Would recommend.

My new listing is a beautifully converted shepherds hut in a Morrocan theme. The views are outstanding and include Rodney’s Pillar and the Berwyn mountains. The historic St Winifred’s well is a 2 minute walk down the lane which also leads on to the Shropshire Union canal. There are plenty of walks to the local pubs and canal side cafe. A stable that has been converted into a bathroom and kitchen/dining area which is all brand new. Hidden behind the stable is a hot tub looking at the fab views
This quirky hut gives you amazing views with a private area that you won’t want to leave. It’s close to Rodney’s Pillar, Llanrhaedre Waterfall, offa’s Dyke path, Lake Vyrnwy and many more scenic locations ( just ask). Oswestry in 5 mins in the car, Shrewsbury 15mins, Wrexham 25 mins & Chester just 40 mins away.. that’s if you want to leave this tranquil spot!
Close to the canal and St Winifred’s well
  • Absolutely lovely shepherds hut. It’s so cosy and really warm (even in windy March). Michelle provided lots of extra blankets too. The hot tub was amazing.. don’t forget to take flip flops though. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore.. it even had all the kitchen utensils and pots/pans you could need. Would love to return in the summer!

    Lucy2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, great facilities, hot tub was a brilliant bonus. Michelle showed us around and completely respected our privacy. Lots of extra blankets for the cold nights. Nice little touch leaving us milk and tea. Will deffo stay again in the summer.

  • The hut is in beautiful countryside with the benefit of a lovely, relaxing hot tub. It was great to be able to take Tom our dog with us. The local pub,The Navigation is super dog friendly and the owners were really friendly too. It's about a 10 minute walk from the hut.

    Jill2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. The host Michelle was fantastic from start to finish, very helpful with any questions I had. Left a note of local places to go. Little touches like that make the difference. The hut was gorgeous! Perfect little weekend get away.

  • Lovely place to stay to relax and unwind. Although we stayed in January, the cabin was nice and warm. The kitchen had all we needed to make dinner and breakfast and the hot tub was fantastic. We bought out cockerpoo dog with us and there were plenty of walks around and she was safe to be let free outside the cabin. I would highly recommend! Thanks so much Michelle :)

Our BRAND NEW traditional Canadian Log Cabin sits at the top of the mountain overlooking the Ceiriog Valley and Berwyn mountains.
In terms of the neighbourhood we're surrounded by fields, so the majority of our neighbours are sheep. Other than the livestock there are two other properties further up the road and a cottage within the grounds so you may occasionally see other guests. But that's pretty much it, so as you can imagine the neighbourhood is quiet and relaxing.
  • We stayed in this beautiful log cabin for two wonderful nights. Our hosts, Sharon and David were super lovely and helpful. Prior to our stay, Sharon had sent really useful messages with places to visit and eat and so we didn't have to do any research before we visited. Her directions to the lodge were really clear and helpful, especially as we found that we had limited phone data available to use sat nav and also the directions avoided a really rough road. On arrival, we were welcomed warmly with delicious homemade bara brith (our first time trying this-delicious!) and cream scones. We bought some of her home made jam as it is so delicious. The cabin was fabulous, lovely and warm and modern too. The hot tub was amazing! The view from it was incredible and we watched the stars from it and even went in it in a gale force wind as it was so lovely and warm and relaxing with it's powerful jets. We visited some lovely places and felt very relaxed as we were unable to access emails, texts or phone calls as we had no signal. However, we did have a minor family emergency and Sharon and David were more than happy for us to use their house phone for this, for which we were very grateful. We really hope to be back again as we so enjoyed our stay.

    Lynn2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin, inside was amazing, hot water straight away in the shower, very clean and Sharon & Dave was amazing hosts. The hot tub was great and the view of fields filled with sheep was great. If your looking for a place to get away this is great, no phone signal but just down the road you can. We went to Llangollen for breakfast at The Meating Point was delicious, we went to the Bridge End pub was good but the pub side is very small, we wanted to watch the football/scores on Saturday we found a lovely little place across from the 3 eagles on Bridge street (can’t remember the name) quirky inside but everyone was lovely, nice simple pub food, overlooked the river. Everywhere was dog friendly even places that served food :)

    Sophie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is clean and cosy! The hosts are lovely and very helpful, great hosts. We had a lovely time with plenty of nearby walks with our dog! It was heaven to get away and spend a few days relaxing with no phone signal and the hot tub was a welcome bonus after a long walk! Would definitely recommend!

    Laura2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Despite storm Dennis trying to thwart us, we had an absolutely amazing stay with Sharon. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and it's obvious that alot of thought and effort has gone into creating it - it's perfect for an off the grid getaway! The hottub was an extra special treat and Sharon was especially helpful when giving us places to go and visit/eat. We throughly enjoyed our stay, thank you!

    Jessica2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cabin in a great location especially if you’re after a peaceful weekend. Some nice local walking, we didn’t get out too much due to bad weather but still had a great weekend. No WiFi, no phone signal, perfect!

    Tom2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can I say, what an outstanding place to go and stay. The cabin is so stylish and modern but has a rustic feel. The hosts were amazing with their welcome and they themselves were very engaging and warm. They respected our privacy but were also there if we wanted to chat. They helped us really well with directions and told us great places to eat. I must recommend to anyone staying here to book a table in the Mulberry inn as it has outstanding food. The hot tub was a nice touch and the cabin was always warm which was great for the mad dash from the tub to the cabin to keep warm. Even though the weather was not on our side , we didn't mind staying in the cabin all day as it was just that nice. This has been my best find on Airbnb since using the app. I cant thank sharon and dave enough. The only down side was that there was no wifi which we expected there to be, but it just meant more quality time for ourselves. Highly would recommend.

    Joanne2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin - a perfect, cosy cabin in the most stunning place with a view to die for! From the easy-to-follow directions, to the warm welcome with home-baked scones and cream tea, Sharon and David’s place is the perfect trip away. We couldn’t have been made to feel more at home and Sharon gave us wonderful tips on walks and pubs in the local area. For walkers, you can literally head out right from the front door and with Llangollen and the Horseshoe Pass on the doorstep, there’s plenty to see and do. The cabin itself is lovely, sparkling clean with flowers and home made jams available! It was the perfect size for the two of us and the dogs and the bed is so comfy! Unfortunately, Storm Ciara stopped us from being able to use the hot tub but we shall definitely be back. I highly recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing time away to recharge. Thank you for having us, we shall be back as soon as we can!

The Hayloft is situated in the grounds of the stunning Rushbury Manor an Elizabethan house in the heart of the South Shropshire Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Hayloft is an oak framed barn beautifully furnished and has views across Ape Dale towards the Long Mynd.
Relax and unwind under the hand crafted, traditionally build cruck oak frame and escape from it all or if you prefer cycling, country walks or more challenging hikes are all possible straight from the door. Take in the spectacular views of the Shropshire Hills from the secluded garden or venture out to try the abundance of local food and real ales or just walk the 1/2 mile to our local pub.
The location lends itself to exploring the local area by foot, bike or car; we have lived in the area for a long time and are happy to help you make the most of your stay. We can help you with walking routes, places to visit such as Ironbridge, local restaurants, places to cycle; off road or on quite country lanes. The South Shropshire hills are on the border between England and Wales, it is a perfect place for a quick retreat away from busy life. If you like history, food or outdoor activities the local area has got it in spades; the many castles and other fortifications (including one just over the road from the Hayloft) tell the tale of border conflicts. Shropshire was the birth place of Darwin, the modern Olympic games and the industrial revolution which has been carefully preserved at the Ironbridge museums, only a few miles away however it is almost as if it never happened. You are not far from great restaurants and places to go out, in particular Ludlow is renowned for its food and festivals and has two restaurants with Michelin stars.
  • The hayloft was airy, clean and homely. I stayed here while at a business conference in Telford 30 mins away. It had everything I needed. Many thanks to Simon and Kara for quick responses and for welcoming me into your lovely space.

  • The Hayloft is a wonderfully relaxing space in a quiet and beautiful location. • The Hayloft is a beautiful quiet place to spend a few days while exploring and walking in Shropshire.

  • We stayed at the Hayloft for three nights (18 -20 Oct 2019). We found the place easily on the edge of the village and our host, Simon, met us to show us around this self contained converted barn. The accommodation is stylish, warm, cosy and inviting and had all the amenities we could want for our short break. It was a pleasure to come back to each evening after our adventures around this delightful part of the Country. Plenty to see and do. Highly recommended stay.

  • Simon and Kara were easy to communicate with - they were friendly warm and welcoming. I loved their loft it was cozy stylish and sparkling clean. It felt like a sanctuary to return to in one of the most charming areas of England. I happily encourage a couple or someone single to stay there any time of year. You Won’t be disappointed at all

Corona virus info: We're asking all guests to wash and sanitise hands on arrival. All surfaces and door/cupboard handles are disinfected thoroughly after each booking. Welcome to Lucky Duck Egg Farm! A beautiful spot with river views and hot tub overlooking the farm & a short walk to Tenbury. The Airbnb sleeps 4, with a shower room and kitchenette area that has a fridge (no oven/stove). Homemade bread and duck eggs on arrival. We're dog-friendly. I live in the adjoining property with two dogs.
The house was built in 2010, replacing an old farm cottage that used to be on the land. The guest studio has its own entrance and is on the ground floor, offering single-level living. Guests have their own private shower room and toilet, and a small utility area. The utility includes a fridge, kettle, toaster and attached egg-maker, and an omelette-maker. The room fits a double bed and sofa bed and has a small dining table. There is an internal door that separates the studio from the main house so it is private. Please be aware we do live at the property, if you are looking for a completely secluded place this accommodation wouldn't be suitable. We give our guests privacy but we are social too.
Tenbury is a charming market town with cafes, shops, six pubs and a vintage cinema called The Regal, which has live entertainment as well as films. The River Teme runs through the town and acts as the Worcestershire/Shropshire border. Set in the Malvern Hills, ramblers can enjoy the many hikes and walking trails around the area. For adventure seekers, you can also kayake down the River Teme. Tenbury has a tourist information centre, a small museum and an old church. In our guest room you can find information leaflets for things to do in the area, and takeaway menus for local fast food businesses.

  • We loved staying here, the tub is amazing even in the bad weather we have! Local pubs were nice too

  • Krystena and Brett were the perfects hosts, Everything about Lucky duck is amazing! The short walk through their gardens and past the ducks to the town makes this place ideal for a few nights stay. We had our two dogs and Krystena made sure we knew where to take them and where we could let them roam, not sure the cats were thrilled :) To top off an already great place we were able to relax in the hot tub under the night sky for a couple of hours. 100% would recommend

  • Krystena and Brett were very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The cats and dogs are super friendly and got on with our 2 dogs great. Lovely space for a quiet break away, with quaint towns surrounding the local area. Great view watching the ducks come out every morning. A great space to unwind from city life! Thanks Krystena and Brett.

  • Fantastic stay, great space, great hot tub, 10min walk into the town (bit dark at night when picking up our Chinese, our fault for not bringing cash), pets were super friendly. Definitely would recommended.

  • Krystena and Brett were very welcoming and made our stay very relaxing, we couldn’t have hoped for better hosts. The home is absolutely wonderful, with some great scenery surrounding. We were extremely impressed with the hot tub they have on offer, and how they prioritise customers use of it. The homemade bread and the duck eggs were delicious too, which they supply for the duration of your stay. We look forward to going back in the near future!
