Places to stay in Point Prim

Places to stay in Point Prim
Our delightful authentic, cozy log cabin cottage, sleeps two. Overlooks Orwell Bay. 5 min. walk to a red sand beach, excellent for walking, beach combing. Quiet, private, peaceful, romantic. A truly wonderful haven to escape from the busy world.
Our authentic log cabin from the late 1800's is from PEI. We had it dismantled and rebuilt on our property. It is beautifully decorated with interesting and eclectic art by Kerras Jeffreys a PEI folk artist and glass artist Cathy Murchison Kro.
There is so much to do. A fabulous restaurant at the end of Pt. Prim Road-Point Prim Chowder House, right on the ocean, is open mid June to mid September, Blackfox Manor for cozy, elegant dining open year round,Kro in the Sky glass artist is 8 minutes away, Hannah's Bottle Village 5 minutes away. We are also 10 minutes from the Highland Greens Golf Course, 15 minutes to the Mini Mills, 10 minutes to Fleece and Harmony, 20 minutes to Kolezar Pottery. Cooper's IGA and gas station is a five minute drive where you can get snacks, groceries, beverages.
  • This is the perfect place to stay for a vacation on PEI. Jan is beyond welcoming and the cottage is comfortable and quirky, with much thought gone into being able to stay in a small space. Loved the wood burner and the view from the deck. The pictures do not do this place justice. Book it, you won’t regret it.

  • One of the nicest accomodation I have ever been. Charming details, wonderful view, friendly host. We had a amazing time there.

  • We really enjoyed our honeymoon stay at this truly unique log cabin! This Maratime gem is a one of a kind place that we will never forget visiting. If we ever get back to PEI we would love to stay again. Everything is as described and some! Simply perfection!!

  • With all the glowing reviews we had high expectations, and JAnaB's place exceeded even those! This is a true gem. Stay here and you will not be disappointed.

  • Such a whimsical but well designed space for one or two people. The location is incredible and the cottage is really comfortable. We loved our 3 day stay and found it a great base for exploring the area but also enjoyed a wonderful afternoon and evening in front of the fire. Would happily return to this special spot in PEI.

  • Jan and Barrie’s place is clean, cozy and comfortable. The wood stove kept us warm and we enjoyed the eclectic decor. Such a lovely secluded hideaway. We even found fresh cookies for our bedtime tea. We are glad to have had the opportunity to stay here. We wanted something unique and we got it.

  • The pictures don’t do this cabin justice! Great location, very clean, and cozy. Great little touches and fun artwork on the property and in the cabin.

    Meghan2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin exceeded my expectations (and they were high because a friend was there last year). Jan is the ideal host-friendly and warm, helpful, and kind (fresh blueberries awaited my arrival!) You’ll hardly notice the cabin is small as the beautiful workmanship and decor capture your attention. And did I mention all the windows and outdoor space...spectacular! A short walk on the trails thru the woods and you get to spend hours exploring the beaches at low tide. In a nutshell, I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my short visit and will be going back next summer!

  • If you are looking for charm, history, art and serenity, this home has it all. If offers uninterrupted 180 degrees views of a calm sea and a private red sand beach that you can stare at for hours.  Cathy and John are wonderful hosts and professional artists, who are always willing to offer good conversation and useful tips about places to visit (e.g. the town of Victoria) on the Island. Their artistic talents reflect in every nook and corner of this home, giving it a super homely and cozy vibe. We have stayed at other AirBnBs across Europe but have never felt at home like this before...or may be it was just 'Miami' the residence cat who it made it extra special for us.  This place is a short 30 mins drive from Charlottetown and is located on the SE part of Island offering the best sunset views. While it may feel a bit far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Charlottetown tourists attractions, this isolation gave our city souls the opportunity to fully unwind ourselves before/after a busy day of Island exploration. Despite its remote location, you are surprisingly near to many significant attractions on the Island namely PEI's only and the tallest brick Lighthouse (Point Prim), it's most famous seafood restaurant (Point Prim Chowder House & Oyster Bar), a corn maze (Chuckwagon) and a wool farm (Fleece & Harmony) with sheep and alpacas on it. What else does anyone need! Every day we looked forward to waking up and sitting on the deck, sipping coffee and having a delicious English style breakfast made by Cathy. On our last morning, we walked on their private red sand beach all the way into the water. The whole experience was surreal and is still seared in our minds....and also on our exposed body parts in the form of bug bites (note to self: use generous bug spray). A notable mention to Cathy's art studio on the property where you can peruse through her collection of sea glass jewellery and other custom glass artifacts. My wife bought herself (No..I did offer to pay) a pair of green sea glass earrings that she's wearing everyday since. Spending time at this place was an integral part of making our first visit to PEI a memorable one. Can't wait for our next visit!

    Mr2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Cathy and Johns far exceeded our expectations! The pictures do not do this breathtaking home justice! Their hospitality was unmatched by anywhere else we’ve stayed. A truly magical place. It felt like we were staying with friends and not essentially complete strangers. We will absolutely be back!

    Kathleen2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredibly special place which was a one in a million find! The views from the deck overlooking the ocean while enjoying a homemade breakfast with ALL the little details was sublime. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel so loved in just two short days. Their home is beyond unique as both hosts are talented artisans. I would say to anyone considering this B & B to not hesitate. It was the best B & B I've ever stayed in. While there, go eat at the Chowder House at the lighthouse just down the road!

    Lisa2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • A stunningly beautiful place. A craftsman’s home with a world class view and wonderful hospitality. The best B&B experience we’ve ever had. Cathy is one in a million!

    Tim2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting and home. Excellent accommodations and breakfast. Helpful suggestions about the area. When next we visit PEI, we want to stay at Cathy's again.

    William2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • It will suffice to say... We officially give Cathy and John a nomination for SUPER 'Super Hosts'! The charm and beauty of their home is unparalleled, and the location with private grounds and beach right on the Ocean is unbeatable. If you are seeking a heavenly spot on PEI, don't look any further... Cathy's place provides the comfort and beauty for a relaxing vacation on historic Point Prim. We only had 3 days on PEI, we ended up not leaving the Point at all. We enjoyed it on foot, by bicycle, and by water on a kayak surrounded by curious seals (both bicycles and kayaks provided by our caring and wonderful hosts!). We most certainly enjoyed our time, a shared meal, and entertaining stories with Cathy and John, in addition to magical sunsets from their deck. Looking forward to our next stay at their place if they take us back, as we hope. Keep up the good work, Cathy and John!

  • A beautiful and peaceful place to rest and rejuvenate. Secluded yet close to so much to see and do. Don't plan to make this a one night stop over as it's hard to leave even after a lenghty stay. Thanks Alex for all of your help and suggestions.

    Sandra2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far one of our favourite Airbnb’s ever. The undisturbed forest and creek is absolutely stunning and peaceful and the cottage itself is so beautiful and homey inside. Alex has done a magical job of decorating and it’s a joy to just sit inside and enjoy the space! Wonderful location for a couple days in PEI. Close to ferry to Nova Scotia and also close to Charlottetown, easy drive to Cavendish and Greenwich. Book this space if you can, you won’t regret it!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Valerie's place. Our hostess was friendly and accommodating to our needs. Check in was easy and the home was clean, modern, spacious and very well situated. It was also very well equipped, and included so many welcoming touches.... teas and coffees were generously supplied, a book shelf, was well stocked, and plants flourished in pots on the porch. We especially enjoyed watching the hummingbird come to his feeder outside the window, every day. We warmly recommend this Airbnb to other travelers.

  • Great place, very well equipped, and located close to Charlottetown.

    Thomas2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We found Valerie's home, "Lupins by the Sea" the best choice we could have made for 5 nights on PEI. Her home was lovely, clean and well cared for, and as it turned out, the location was better than expected. We were only 12 minutes from downtown Charlottetown, without the noise and hassle of staying in the city. We were a 30min drive to the national park (which we drove to twice). About 20mins to the best trailhead on the Confederation Trail. The garage afforded us safe, clean storage for our 3 bicycles and other supplies. After a long day of hiking or biking, her home was an inviting place to relax and cook dinner, either in the kitchen or on the grill outdoors; its perfect for two couples. We would definitely stay there again. - Doug

  • Wonderful location if you hope to explore many area of this beautiful island. Valerie was a great host. The home was comfortable and lovely. The flowers on the porch and grounds were lovely. The kitchen was well appointed if you enjoy cooking your own lobster or seafood chowder or any meal. Valerie has many recommendations about places to visit and things to do based on your preferences. I must say this was one of our best vacations; the island and our vacation “home” were lovely.

  • Our stay with Janet and Charlie was really nice. They are both great people and we enjoyed chatting with them. The room was bright and clean and so was the whole house. We got great advice and felt really welcome. I can definetely recommend to stay with them.

  • We felt right at home with Janet and Charlie and had a great time in their cozy house. The room is very lovely and so are the hosts (and their snuggly cat). They really make you feel welcome and we shared many stories and laughs around the breakfast table. Everything was perfect and their house is just a stone throw away from the ferry terminal and the Point Prim lighthouse. And in case you're a knitter the wonderful yarn shop Fleece and Harmony is also just around the corner. For us this was a home away from home snd a truly great Airbnb experience!

    Jill2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! Book here for local PEI knowledge and hospitality. Our trip to PEI would not be complete without our time spent with Charlie and Janet. Their home is clean and cozy with east coast authentic decorations and antiques. They’re nice, kind, lovely people who are very knowledgeable and extremely welcoming. Their bathroom is also amazing, very clean and easy for us to access right across from our room. We enjoyed starting our days with healthy family style breakfast with hearty conversation making the start of each day even better!

  • Janet and Charlie are wonderful and made me feel right at home. They are a lovely couple and I had a tremendous stay with them!

    Daisy2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I had needed a place to stay for one night before our trip out of PEI, and Janet and Charlie had taken us in. They were understanding of us coming late; we got off a ferry from NS in the evening and ate at the Point Prim Chowder House before heading over to their place. And again very understanding that we left early to catch an 8 am flight. My mom had forgotten her sweater there and when I asked Janet to help ship it to Toronto, she came through and was so kind about it all. I know we didn't get to spend much time with them and their lovely home, but they are amazing hosts and I would highly recommend their place to anyone visiting PEI next 'tourist season'. Thank you Janet & Charlie.

Located on a private road which is walking distance to the beach the rental is close to golf, shopping and 10 minutes from Charlottetown. This is a beautiful quiet area of PEI and is highly sought after for it's location because it's midway between all of the most favorite tourist destinations PEI has to offer.

  • We had rented a cottage just a few feet away in 1986. It was nice to be back at Point Prim! Cottage met all our needs it was clean, with comfy bed and lots of hot water. Best part was walking down the red dirt road to the The Chowder House. We had dinner there 2x and a night cap to watch a beautiful sunset on another. Great to be back to the East coast. Would recommend Peter and Wendy’s cottage!

    Judy2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage which is so unbelievably well equipped, comfortable, immaculate and in one of the most peaceful setting we have ever visited. We were greeted upon arrival and given great tips on local “don’t miss” sites! Peter and Wendy created a very memorable experience for us.

    Jackie2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Cottage. Peter greeted us upon arrival, showing us the cottage and explaining things. The cottage was extremely clean, it’s very open while cozy at the same time. It's nicely decorated. There was a separate bedroom which we used as a giant walk in closet, loved that. The kitchen was well supplied. We were provided with coffee, cream, and bread and butter. We were also invited to pick fresh herbs from the greenhouse. We were able to walk to the shore via a short, mowed path and then along the rocky coast at low tide. We saw a couple of seals on an early morning walk. We were able to see a spectacular sunset from a cottage window. The lighthouse is close, but neighboring trees block viewing it from the cottage. Water views are from a distance. Peter’s communication was excellent during the booking process. We didn’t have any interactions with anyone after check in, but I’m sure we could have knocked on their door if we needed anything. AS an aside, the Chowder House down the road was excellent, we ate there two out of three nights, everything we had was great. They easily accommodate 2 person walk-ins. They are a seasonal restaurant, FYI....

    JoAnn2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you love peace and quiet and the ocean nearby combined with a lovely amazingly clean and comfortable cottage, you will love Sunset Cottage! Wonderful hosts! Surrounded by fields, plus a lighthouse, a restaurant not to mention the ocean all within a short walk this is a delight. Highly recommend a stay here.

    Barbara2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely area. We arrived later in the day. The cabin was ready and very tidy and clean. We met Peter shortly after and with his suggestion made a reservation for dinner down the road. Everything was great!

  • Beautiful, quiet spot. You can expect a very clean & organized spot with great hosts. A perfect place to relax.

    Glen2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Wendy were wonderful hosts and the cottage was perfect for our family of four! We loved the location next to the lighthouse and a terrific restaurant. The sunsets were phenomenal. We even saw seals from the point— bring some binoculars! (Our hosts even provided bikes for the short ride to the point!) The cottage itself was PERFECT. We couldn’t imagine a more comfortable, well-appointed cottage.

  • We honestly did not know what to expect after booking this stay as it was a last minute and we have never stayed in anything like this before. We pulled up to the beautiful location directly off the main highway and Jing was there greeting us with a smile in his office. We checked in fast and went directly to our cute little cabin/cottage. The windows were open to let the fresh air in. The place was sparkling clean and everything looked so new and completely refreshing. This place is a hidden gem! There is a clam chowder house just down the road that has the most amazing food and spectacular sunset views. If you want a true PEI experience you have to stay here and visit any of the beaches that are a short drive away. You won’t be disappointed!

*History and luxury* The Steeple majestically sets on top of the red capes of Pt Prim with a sweeping panoramic view of where 3 large Bays unify . You'll have private access to miles of secluded shore line. This 4.5 star cottage is intended as a perfect get away for two or solo escape. When your finished exploring the shore , sandbars at low tide there's woodland trails to explore outside your door, Rooftop deck, afternoon breezes, evening stars, campfire area Pt Prim Chowder House -2miles
  • All of the reviews of the Steeple Cottage are %100 accurate. Not one detail has been overlooked in this gorgeous AirBnB. We accidentally stumbled across this listing, and booked the Steeple Cottage on a whim. Boy we are so happy we did! There's too many things to highlight, so I'll touch on a few of the many amazing details: the view from the steeple on the rooftop patio is picturesque. If you are visiting in the summer, pack a lot of bug spray (the mosquitoes were bad!). Mornings were enjoyed sipping hot coffee on the upper porch, watching the blue herons and eagles fly by. The beach itself was also picturesque, the red sand and warm sea water was just lovely. The kayaks provided were perfect, we kayaked to a private beach, and found seals and starfish. What a great day. By night, we hopped on the retro bikes, and rode about 5 kilometres down the road to an excellent restaurant called The Chowder House. The staff were so friendly, make sure to ask to sit at Mel's favourite table. The sunsets were from a magazine. And don't forget to make a reservation! The steamer pot was our fave dish for two. Lastly, our most favourite detail of the home was the outdoor bath house. The antique claw foot tub overlooking the yard was magical. We watched the birds in the morning, and fireflies at night. Just so beautiful. We have not one bad thing to say. Thank you Mel and Val, we'll be back!!

    Kaylah2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was magnificent! The location was incredible. The only thing we could of wished for was more time to stay and enjoy. Highly recommended.

  • If you are looking for an opportunity to escape from the noise and bustle of city life, if you are looking to reconnect with mother nature - this is the perfect oasis. It is nice and secluded with access to a private beach just steps away. From bonfires, to morning coffee watching the low-tide, this is truly a perfect vacation spot.

    Merylee2018-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mel and Val have created a very special place in the Steeple Cottage. Very private, has everything you could ask for and is in a very good location. It is also very charming. It is really the best of PEI. I would also say the same about the hosts, both Mel and Val are very nice, very welcoming and the best of PEI. I would have no qualms about recommending this cottage to anyone.

Morning Tide is a two bedroom log home overlooking the Northumberland Strait offering guests a stunning waterfront view in a setting we have fondly referred to as "paradise." Come and enjoy exploring miles and miles of beach, digging for clams, and watching the shoreline for the majestic blue heron, sometimes an eagle, or even seals sunning themselves on the sandbars! Inevitably, all will enjoy listening to the peaceful sound of the sea rolling gently against the red Island shore!
We are excited to welcome guests to our cottage and hope you find it to be a place where you can rest, unwind and get away from the busyness of life. Mornings can be an amazing time to enjoy the serenity of the cottage, sitting out on the spacious deck with a cup of coffee or your favorite drink. Later in the day you might enjoy some time wandering and exploring the private beach just a short walk away. For a rainy day, we have provided some of our favorite board and card games or…of course you can always snuggle up in a chair to read a good book you have tucked in your suitcase. Within a 15 minute drive from Morning Tide you can purchase fresh seafood at Wood Islands Seafood and Take Out, enjoy U-Pick Strawberry and Raspberry patches, visit the Chuckwagon Farm Market, play nine holes of golf at Belfast Highland Greens, take a drive through historic Jack’s Road, dating back to the 1900’s, tour the Point Prim Lighthouse, enjoy an outstanding meal at the Point Prim Chowder House and Oyster Bar, catch the ferry to Nova Scotia, see a pottery work in progress at Koleszar Pottery, shop at the Belfast Mini Mills or at Fleece and Harmony (This is the yarn lovers option), purchase groceries and liquor at Coopers General Store. Outside the 15-minute driving radius you can visit the town of Montague 25 minutes away or the Island’s capital city, Charlottetown which is a 35 minute drive with an endless list of accessible summer memory making activities! So…at Morning Tide you can enjoy a peaceful holiday, in a beautiful secluded waterfront setting and if you desire, easily take in the sights and sounds of the Island’s largest city. No matter where you travel from our cottage, you will be able to enjoy the renowned beauty of Prince Edward Island.
Morning Tide Log Cottage is situated on Big Point, P.E.I. with a vista waterfront view and only one other cottage in sight.
  • The view is as good as it looks and the host is fantastic at communicating. Bring your own drinking and cooking water and enjoy this off-the-beaten path cabin.

Close to the NS ferry, horse raceway, golf, pool, canteen, Point Prim, chowder house, oyster tour, arts/crafts, jewelry, gas, liquor, grocery store & more! National Park Pass during your stay!
Tourism PEI License #2202921. A nice space to relax and get away from it all! We have 2 Queen bedrooms + a den with bunk beds. Our den is short just 5 sq. ft. As a token of appreciation to our guests (because you guys truly are awesome!!), we are offering a complimentary PEI National Park Pass, which allows one car load in to all National Parks in PEI for free! :) We are fully equipped with all the essentials to help you feel at home. Our newly built screened-in sunroom offers a lovely bug-free space to unwind with a book, or chill in zen on the sectional couch while watching the sun glisten over the water. Cooper’s Red & White Store is close by and offers “everything but the kitchen sink!” The neighbourhood is safe and quiet, down a private road with only a few other houses, so traffic is very minimal. A large peaceful back yard for children to run around. You may every once and awhile hear the "clippity clops" of horses trotting along the race track next door. It's called Fox Lane for a reason. Karine2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fox Trot is a beautiful, clean, cozy cottage located somewhat hidden with a beautiful view of the river. It is serene and private and has truly everything you need for your stay. It has a beautiful veranda that you can eat or lounge in protected from the mosquitos. Angela’s attention to detail is phenomenal and she’s not kidding when she says all you need to bring is your clothes and food (if you wanted to cook during your stay). Everything is provided : from linen to BBQ to beach chairs! We stayed a party of 5 (3 adults; 1 teenager; 1 child) and everyone was happy! My kids were ecstatic for the Wifii and Netflix 🤣 The cottage is just a short drive to beautiful sites nearby like Point Prim (a must to reserve outside table at the Chowder House for the meal and stunning view); Orwell Corner Historic Village; ect... Its about 30-40 min the Charlottetown depending on how many times you stop off the road to take pictures of the scenery! The GPS travel estimates is because most roads are scenic roads so it’s longer but always a pleasant drive. We visited 3 beaches during our stay: 1) the famous Basin Head with its white sand, about 1 hour away 2) Cumberland Provincial Park Beach - more rocky and corse sand but lots of huge sea shells to collect, about 15 min away 3) Panmure Provincial Park Beach - our fav and for us the one with warmest water, about 30 min away. Angela’s beach chairs came in very handy (we brought our own sun tent and beach blanket which we used since it was very hot and sunny). In all PEI has great hospitality, stunning scenery, and staying at Fox Trot with Angela as a host was more than we could have asked for!

Strange Scenario, but a house fire put my old home to rest ; the silver lining being that a brand new home has been built in its place. I was a superhost with my old home, and will continue that on with the new house. The new house is full of windows, vaulted ceilings, and a very unique touch of character. Blessed not only by its surroundings and view, but more so by the beautiful array of colors seen as the sun sets over Orwell Bay.
The space has an open living concept on the main floor, with a bedroom loft up the spiral staircase. The main floor also houses vaulted ceilings, a well equipped kitchen, bedroom, bathroom with clawfoot tub, and a giant wall of windows showcasing the beautiful view of Orwell Cove. The house offers a variety of amenities including, but not limited too; Sunroom, AC, TV with netflix, wifi, washer/dryer, 2 bicycles, BBQ. Both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms have showers as well as all three bedrooms have queen sized beds.
The views on the quiet Orwell Cove Road are like a painting, where the remoteness of the seasonal fields meeting the water embodies Prince Edward Island as a whole. Within a 10 minute drive of Coopers Red and White (community grocer and gas station), Chuck Wagon Farmers Market, Two golf courses, a lighthouse, provincial park, and the Point Prim Chowder house. However what lies within a 25 minute drive is endless; from the beautiful city of Charlottetown, 7 golf courses, fishing villages, local restaurants, remote sand beaches, fishing charters, wineries, and so much more.
  • This place lives up to the reviews. Relaxing location- close to beaches and Charlottetown. Well set up - many extras provided. But nothing beats the sunsets off the the deck or the stargazing.

    Andrea2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic stay in this new house. Beautiful view. Fantastic house with lots of new touches. 20 mins from Charlottetown. Jalen provided quick communication and local tips. We were travelling with a 1.5 year old and the house wasn't super conducive to a young one. We knew this going in and still managed just fine. Highly recommended.

    Matt2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean home that offers a quiet stay and beautiful views. It was a comfortble base for exploring the island for 6 adults. Jalen was so quick to respond to our inquiries as well, and had many nice touches within the space that was a nice bonus.

    Ashley2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous space and location...we all enjoyed our stay at Jalen's place! The view is amazing and we loved the rural location...so peaceful and yet not far from great food and beaches.

    Cheryl2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jalen’s place is a great spot to explore the central and east parts of the island. We did quite a bit of cycling so it was a real pleasure to make use of the soaking tub nightly. The house was as advertised and the views were better than the pictures. We would not hesitate to return.

    Dorothy2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place. I can’t even. I literally cried when I walked into the home and saw the view out the front windows. I could not believe my family and I were blessed enough to stay in such a place. Jalen’s communication was perfect since day one and was the best communication I had with a host through Airbnb. He was fast to respond and help every single time we had any questions. The photos do not do the location justice, it was gorgeous and peaceful, and was a perfect spot to tour PEI’s north, south and east coasts from. My family felt safe and comfortable. The home itself is awesome. So many touches and high-end features. The copper bathtub and amazing upstairs shower were highlights! We stayed when the place was rather new, and you can just tell how much love and thought Jalen has put into it. When all the finishing touches are done, this will be the best Airbnb in PEI, I’m sure of it. The deck is phenomenal with a gorgeous wooden table perfect for enjoying the outdoors. Jalen had tons of recommendations written out for us, books highlighting the area’s history as well as some best sellers and family games. He also gathered us baby supplies to make traveling with our two little ones easier. So so thankful and blessed by this place. Recommend it completely!

    Sarah2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip was super at Jalen cottage. Very nice place.

    Michel2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Jalen’s house on Orwell Cove! Fairly centrally located we were able to explore the whole island over several days. The house itself is spectacular! Amazing views, wide open and modern space. It is simply beautiful! The house is tastefully decorated with a lot of artistic flair. There is ample living space including a huge deck from which you can watch gorgeous sunsets. We cooked several meals ourselves both grilling and indoors. The kitchen is adequately stocked with utensils and dishes. You can purchase great local produce and seafood at theCharlottetown Farmers Market. All in all we highly recommend this house for a magical stay on a magical island. We definitely hope to return one day and would stay at Jalen’s house again if we do.

  • Mary & Scott are delightful hosts. The description of the space on Airbnb is pretty accurate. The space is charming and full of fun and unique art. Though I didn’t hike down to the beach, my spouse found the walk down magical (he saw a lot of birds (lol)). Communication was good. Suggestions of places to check out on PEI were appreciated. Both the view and the space are peaceful.

    Alice2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Mary's cottage was such a wonderful introduction to Prince Edward Island. She grew up on the island and had many helpful suggestions about places to go. The cottage had everything we needed, and a lot of sweet, thoughtful touches like a basket of family friendly DVDs, hot chocolate and marshmallows that my kids loved, and plenty of clean and cozy towels, blankets, coffee, and more. The view from the house was stunning. During the day, you can see the ocean from the main living area of the cottage and from the well appointed deck. There's a magical path through the trees down to a private beach that our family loved exploring. At night, we were able to sit out and see shooting stars and the milky way. Mary and her husband could not have been more warm, kind, welcoming, fun to talk to, and accommodating. We are so grateful they shared their home with us and hope to return again for a longer visit. I can't say enough about how comfortable and perfect the cottage was - the pictures don't do it justice. It's a magical, gorgeous spot.

    Heather2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful location. The cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable and clean. Mary had great suggestions on where to explore and we took her advice and had a great time getting to know this beautiful island. We also did some relaxing just sitting and admiring the view, which is perfect! A great find for us and we would recommend it anyone.

    Sandra2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful rustic cottage. Beautiful sunsets! Mary and Scott were warm and welcoming. They respected our privacy and gave us all the info we needed to enjoy our stay. The only "negative" aspect would be that we didn't get to enjoy the cottage's private Beach because there were to many mosquitos. Not such a big deal since there are many great beaches all over the Island. This was our first experience with Airbnb and we certainly will do it again.

  • Beautiful cottage with a bonus toy room and full size crib! Being on the ocean was breathtaking and so quiet at the end of a red dirt road. Perfection.

    Sarah2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! We loved the cottage and the private beach. Our 6 year old daughter had the best time of her life spending hours up and down the beach searching for clams, crabs and jellies. The location was perfect for us, so close The Chowder House, which we able to go to twice. Best food we have all on our trip out east. Highly recommend!!

    Jennifer2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is called The Dreamcatcher and it honestly was a dream come true. The space is bigger than it looks in the pictures. All the bedrooms were good sizes and the toy room was a super big hit with my children and their cousins! The outdoor space is magical. We couldn't believe how large the oceanfront property was and how private!!! So beautiful!!! Our family had so much fun swimming at high tide and searching the huge sandy beach for treasures at low tide. We had campfires every night listening to the sounds of the waves, gazing at the stars and making happy memories. The kids loved the hammock and swing as well. We even saw a seal bobbing by one day! Point Prim light house and chowderhouse are must sees so closeby! It was a perfect location for us 20 minutes from the ferry and close to Charlottetown too! We were all so happy with our stay at the Dreamcatcher. It is truly a gem on beautiful Prince Edward Island. We would gladly return in the future.

    Susan2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • An awesome spot! We had great campfires, great views, and a very well equipped cottage! The bathrooms were clean and well stocked, as was the kitchen. The beach is ideal for building sand castles and enjoying campfires at night, and low tide provides some great sandbar walks. Definitely recommend the chowder house and visiting the lighthouse!

    Cameron2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was spotless when we arrived, spacious and well equipped with all the amenities you would ever need to make you feel at home. We spent each evening around the fire pit overlooking the beach in the private back yard. Nice deck at the back that caught the afternoon sun, a picnic table for our meals and that hammock that was so comfortable. One of the most relaxing weekends we have ever spent on PEI.

  • The house is beautiful! The views in the morning are spectacular. We did have a lot of mosquitoes which made using the outdoors space with kids challenging but that’s Mother Nature for you. The house was sparkling clean when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with every cooking appliance we could need for the week. Our host was prompt in responding, check in and out was a breeze! The washer and dryer was excellent for getting through a week with kids. Highly recommend this location for families traveling who like the peace and quiet of PEI.

  • Stayed for a week in the height of summer. Place is ideal for people wanting to get away from the busy parts of Charlottetown, and to a nice place where you can just relax. House is everything that is advertised, and the local area has lots to offer. From the best seafood chowder at Point Primm, to all the local beaches and coves. You can stay away from all the busy parts of the island, and just exist with things very close at hand. Or a quick jump and you're in town, with all those kinds of things. The host is very nice, and replies in good time with positive outcomes. An all round nice stay, well worth it as a place to explore PEI.

    Ivan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great. Very private, very clean, everything we could need. The kids fell in love. They loved exploring the grounds. Named their favourite places (violet valley, the forest of truth, fern forest, and Awesomeness). My daughter loved the loft space, said she felt like a kid in a novel every night. Glen was very easy ( and quick) to communicate with and left great suggestions and pamphlets to help make our time on PEI great. We had a wonderful time.

    Sue2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely 3-bedroom cottage on a large private lot, including a bbq, a hammock and a patio, on a private beach. The fully stocked kitchen enabled us to cook and eat meals at the house. A wonderful treat is The Prim Point Chowder House , one of PEI’s best restaurants, is practically around the corner. Sunsets there watching the seals and eating divine food make the location all the better. Thanks to Glen for the info packet and maps, we found plenty of beaches and places to explore and eat. We had a truly memorable and wonderful family vacation at Glen’s cottage.

  • Perfect home away from home for a family who wishes to explore PEI. Around 35 minutes from Charlottetown but located a short drive to the ferry. Just a 3 minute drive to Coopers Red and White store which has pretty much all your necessities. The Chuckwagon up the road has some tasty nibbles if you don't feel like cooking. If you do want to cook the kitchen has what you need and there is a BBQ out back. Our dog loved the fenced in area and we made good use of the gazebo and fire pit in the evening. Thanks Mr. And Mrs. Mac Donald for sharing tour home with us.

  • Tina and Donnie were superb hosts, and their home was the perfect place for us to spend a few days. The house was extremely comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. It was very nicely laid out and decorated, and the furnishings were all top notch. The house was also pristinely clean. Our dogs really enjoyed the fenced back yard, and Tina and Donnie had made a special effort to make sure it was totally secure. They provided many great tips on things to do and see in the area, and were very pleasant and great to talk with. Overall, could not have been better!!!!!

  • This is a fantastic property in a beautiful setting and a lovely area. The house has everything and is spotlessly clean. It provides peace and quiet and it has a well-stocked store within walking distance or a short drive. It provides an ideal base for exploring the island and is a 25/30 minute drive to Charlottetown and about 15 to the ferry. Tina and Donnie are very friendly and welcoming hosts

  • Tina and Donnie were very accommodating. The house is very clean and comfortable and lots of space inside and out. It was nice when we got home from our busy days to have a comfortable clean bed to sleep in. We also liked getting up in the morning and making our own breakfast before starting our day. It is a very quiet relaxing place to stay.

  • Great place! The house is beautiful, very clean and the property is amazing, especially if you have a dog, they have a huge yard with a screened in gazebo, our dog loved it there, she did not want to leave. There is a washer and dryer, dishwasher and plenty of towels. Tina and Donnie were very welcoming and they had a binder with maps and ideas for things to do. The location is great, close to the ferry and all of the east coast attractions, and not too far from Charlottetown.

This waterfront cottage is a charming two bedroom cottage overlooking the Northumberland Strait. One of the most outstanding features of Big Point Cottage is its peaceful, serene setting and panoramic view of the Strait. Because of its prime location, Jenyns Point Cottage offers guests miles and miles of beach to explore, clam digging and seal watching at your leisure and hours of relaxing enjoyment listening to the sounds of the sea against the rich red earth.
We're new to hosting and hope you enjoy our little piece of paradise. Relax on the spacious deck and enjoy stunning views of the Strait with a private beach just steps away. Soak in a spectacular sunset as you roast marshmallows together and enjoy quiet evenings together. Just minutes away you can get groceries at the local General Store, Coopers, there is also a liquor store, and all the fresh seafood you could ever want. Nearby there are u-pick blueberry and strawberry patches, the Chuckwagon Farm Market, Rossingnol Winery, Point Prim Lighthouse and the Point Prim Chowder House and Oyster Bar. The cottage is just 10 minutes from the Wood Islands Ferry, 25 minutes to the town of Montague and 35 minutes from the Island's largest city, Charlottetown. You have the best of both worlds - quiet secluded privacy and close proximity to the Island's largest city. Watch for seals gathering in the evenings, majestic great blue herons along the shore, or enjoy peaceful walks on the secluded beach. This is as close to paradise as you will find on our beautiful island.
  • Absolutely beautiful location. Peaceful and private. Hosts are reachable and very friendly! Our favourite part of our stay was lounging on the deck while listening to and watching the ocean!

  • To truly appreciate the simple grandeur of this property, you have to experience it. Our family had a wonderful week at this cottage. The expansive lawn that surrenders majestically to sweeping views of the Northumberland Straight rivals in beauty any that we have witnessed in our global wanderings. The cottage was clean, well-appointed with all the amenities. If you're searching for a rare--and affordable--Airbnb experience punctuated by sweeping ocean views, quiet farmland surroundings and serenity, this is the place for you! Thanks Joel for offering us an unforgettable glimpse into your special corner of PEI.

  • We had a wonderful stay as a family at Big Point Cottage. One highlight was walking along the beach, seeing seals, clams, eagles, crabs, etc. We also swam in the water which was pretty warm. Anything we needed was included and more. We particularly enjoyed the spectacular view of the water and having bonfires at night. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone seeking peace and relaxation.

  • My wife and I stayed here for a week after our wedding. What an incredible experience. Amazing hosts, immaculately clean, and everything you need for a nice getaway. The beach was unreal. Full of butterflies on the short walk down. Lots of crabs, hermits, snails, clams, herrons, and more. There's also a family of seals that come and sun bathe at low tide every night. PERFECT.

  • My friend and I spent a lovely week at Big Point Cottage to celebrate our 70th birthdays on PEI! The directions given made it easy to find and the moment we saw the breathtaking ocean view we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. In the kitchen we found freshly made biscuits, butter and jam and a Birthday balloon! The cottage was very clean, welcoming and had everything we needed. The weather was cool which we expected for this time of year and we had a few rainy days but did enjoy some morning walks on the beach and evenings sitting on the deck watching the amazing sunset. Charlottetown and Montague were easy drives from the cottage for supplies, shopping, and great restaurants. Lobster on the Wharf and Pilot House in Charlottetown were two of our favorites! Our host Janice stopped by for a lovely visit and gave us info on nearby lighthouses to check out. The week truly went by quickly and we were sad to leave this bit of heaven at Big Point Cottage. We will definitely return!!!

  • We would highly recommend this cottage! First the MacDonald family accommodated our request to come on the same day. We found a beautiful cottage that overlooked the sea with glorious sunsets that light up the red sands. You can walk along the shore and find barking seals and graceful cranes. It’s a peaceful, restful, stunning spot. The cottage was very well appointed: a large number of fluffy white towels, the best mattresses we’ve experienced in our Maritime travels, every amenity we needed, a variety of board games for all ages, gear to do clam digging, a place to picnic or have a bonfire, a grill. The list could go on. There was one item we requested, and our hostess responded immediately! And Janice brought us delicious homemade biscuits and jam and offered wonderful ideas for making the most of our PEI experience. Incredible!

Peaceful, private, and tranquil. Wake up to breakfast on the screen porch with the birds chirping as you watch the tide rise and fall. Evenings in the same spot sipping local wine (Rossignol winery is just 15 minutes away) and eating the delicious meal you've made in the gourmet kitchen. 35 Minutes from the heart of Charlottetown, and a wealth of other restaurants and attractions. Local Swimming holes abound where you can walk out and swim with local seals. It's a slice of quiet paradise!
A beautiful 3 bedroom home with all the creature comforts you could want including King and Queen Beds, jetted tubs in each bathroom, two propane fireplaces and peaceful, stunning water views.
Rural living provides privacy, peace and quiet. It's a beautiful part of the island, but driving is required to get to attractions! Coopers General Store is the closest source for beer, wine, liquor, gas and most grocery items you could want. We can recommend places within a 20 minute drive to get fresh seafood and other delicacies!

We are located in Gascoigne Cove in Flat River. It is an agricultural rural community. Crops of corn, soybean, potato and grain are a few of the crops you will see. We are approximately 12 miles from the Wood Islands ferry that goes to Pictou, Nova Scotia and approximately a 30-35 minute drive to Charlottetown. The Blue Caboose has a fun 5 hole pitching/chipping golf field. Spring and summer bring mosquitoes and black flies. We have mosquito spray, citronella candles, suntan lotion and beach accessories. • The Blue Caboose is simply fantastic. Will be back again and again.

    Matthew2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a fantastic time at the Blue Caboose. The location is private and secluded - the only noises at night were the crickets. It’s out of the way of all the tourist hustle and bustle (which is exactly what we wanted) yet it is within a short drive of everything you need including beautiful beaches. The provided conveniences like sunscreen and insect repellent, beach towels and umbrellas, even a cooler and ice pack made our stay incredibly fun and stress free from the moment we arrived. We will be back!!

    Agata2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our second year at the Caboose was just as fun as the first, and we're happy with the decision to stay a full week--it was restful and beautiful as always, with the beach a short distance away and some really excellent fries from the Chuckwagon. For next year I plan to treat all our clothes with insect repellent because they are ravenous! Highly recommend.

    Alex2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Blue Caboose is wonderful! It was a gracious space for 2. It has all of the needed items and amenities; and the bed is super comfortable. There are many tips and travel brocures available for investigating as well. A very nice place to stay.

    Lorena2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you want seclusion this is the spot! There isn't much to do besides going to the shore (a 5 min walk down a road) to walk on the sand bar or go clan digging, or drive a distance to visit tourist attractions. The Prim Point Chowder House is near by but you need to book months in advance to get a seat. If you want to be close to the one(s) you're with this is the spot! There's a very comfortable Queen bed, lovely bathroom, and the living space (the Caboose itself) is small. There's a love seat you can pull out for an extra bed or to cuddle close on to enjoy a movie or TV program. You will have all you need from the kitchen, except food (which wasn't expected!). The yard space is inviting. Staying in The Blue Caboose is a pretty neat experience. Lots of history. The "neighbourhood" seemed safe and quite. The accommodation was very clean and well maintained.

  • Beautiful housing, with an exceptional layout, in a very quiet environment. Leslie is very attentive and responds very quickly to our messages. The tip of the East is worth discovering and Caboose is a good starting point if you like to ride, because it's a little out of the way. We loved our week and would have liked to stay a little longer.

    Quinn2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot to stay in! Loved the caboose and the entire place is super clean. All of the extras included were a nice surprise. We took advantage of the boots and shovel to walk 5 min down the road to go clam digging. The location was nice and quiet and we had the best sleeps ever there. Lots of information provided for the area as well. Loved every minute here!!!!

Do you wish you could find a quiet, secluded cottage to get away from your busy life and reconnect with family and friends? Bearfoot Cottage is the perfect place to recharge your spirit and get away from it all. Relax on the spacious deck and enjoy stunning views of the secluded beach just steps away. Or soak in a spectacular sunset as you roast marshmallows together and enjoy quiet evenings together. Your memories will last a lifetime. With convenient extras like a screened in porch, air conditioning, wifi, a washer/dryer, and even a dishwasher, you can truly enjoy spending stress-free time with your loved ones. Featuring a homey and quaint modern beach decor, vaulted ceilings and spectacular views, this hidden gem easily sleeps 8 comfortably. Just minutes away you can get groceries at the local General Store, Coopers, there is also a liquor store, and all the fresh seafood you could ever want. The cottage is just 10 minutes from the Wood Islands Ferry, 11 miles to the town of Montague and 26 miles from the Island's largest city, Charlottetown. Just up the road you can get fresh U-pick blueberries and fresh in-season produce from farmers. The world-famous Rossingnol Winery is about 20 minutes away. We recommend you try the Black Current wine!
The Cooper's General Store is just a few minutes away on highway #2. They have a liquor store, daily fresh seafood and bakery, as well as general groceries, gas, and their service is wonderful! We often tell our guests to look for the "Naked Lady Statue" and if you are coming from Charlottetown and you see her, you've gone too far! The turn-off to Bearfoot cottage is just before you see her, on the opposite side of the highway. We are only 10 minutes from the Wood Islands Ferry Terminal. There is a large campground with fun amenities like multiple playgrounds, a bandstand, basketball court and a volleyball net, along with the essentials like washrooms, showers, telephones, laundry and picnic areas. There are lifeguards on duty during the summer. Northumberland is a great spot for nature lovers as it is an excellent place for clam digging and bird watching because of the burrowing cliff swallows in the area. Seals often congregate in the evenings on the peninsula near our beach, and you can swim, collect shells or simply enjoy a BBQ dinner with wine and a campfire under the stars.
  • Loved this place! Super clean! Nice and private. Can hear & see the ocean from the porch!

  • My family and I loved our stay here! The cottage is incredibly peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle. The mosquitos were horrible this year, but with bug spray we managed just fine! There is also a mosquito magnet provided as well, and as long as it is up wind, it does a great job!The sunsets and star gazing are incredible! Generous sized bedrooms, and lovely screened in porch. It is about 30 min to Charlottetown or Montague, and an hour to New Glasgow or Rustico. The drive felt like nothing as it was full of beautiful scenery! Panmure Island is also close and has a quiet supervised beach :) Can't wait to return to this piece of heaven :)

  • Bearfoot cottage was fantastic! Very peaceful spot and well outfitted with everything you need. The cottage was clean, well located and had lots of charm. We particularly appreciated the screened in porch, as the mosquitos were quite bad in the evenings. The cottage was the perfect home base for our family vacation in PEI.
