This was a great base for exploring Straddie. Very comfortable, with a fully stocked pantry, and lots of toys (body boards, bikes, etc, etc). Eileen was an excellent host who made us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again!

Eileen and Scott are the epitome of what AirBnB stands for: they offer a place that feels like home. Their thoughtfulness was unending. They truly want to make your stay as perfect as possible, and they did just that. All my questions about where to go on the island were answered promptly with a genuine desire to help me have a great experience. They also gave detailed info that made traveling on the island so easy (the location is perfect and is easily accessible by the bus which picks you up from the ferry). The space is amazing and oh so comfortable. Stay as long as you can, this place and Eileen and Scott are gems. I hope to be back! Thank you for everything!

so many personalised touches that made this place perfect to just relax

Unfortunately there was a hiccup on our arrival which had meant that the property had not been cleaned. As soon as I called Eileen at 7:00pm she answered and immediately apologised, arranged for the cleaner to come early the next morning and provided us compensation (the cleaner also left us a gift for our trouble). Eileen went above and beyond to make this up to us and was quick and responsive. The property was well located and nice and quiet. We had a lovely stay.

We experienced a cozy home away from home enhanced by the most thoughtful touches. We could feel the welcoming warmth of the host the minute we entered the space.

This classic Aussie fibro ''shack" with loft is well designed and comfortable. The considerate touches are everywhere from pump body washes and shampoo/conditioners in the clean bathroom to good quality sheets; tips on Island activities; attractive kitchen equipment; a fridge stocked with more than the basics; books to read or TV to watch in the living area and an efficient air-conditioning system. The lap pool is great and guests around us were all friendly but not intrusive. Allure, itself, is right next door to the bowls club and opposite the beach, so very conveniently placed. Dive shop. and petrol garage are just down the road and it's minutes from Point Lookout. Well worth considering for experiencing the gorgeous Straddie dream.

Great place to stay, with excellent facilities.

This beautiful beachside loft is perfect for a sweet island getaway! The beach is across the road, there's the best woodfired pizza's at the cafe out front. The space itself is beautiful with a private deck for a tea in the morning or an afternoon vino. Eileen is a wonderful host with the speediest replies! The place is perfectly kitted with everything you need for your stay including bikes! So fun! Would definitely recommend! Thanks Eileen!!

Loved our stay here, complex is in a great location and the room was perfect for a couple with a small child. Kitchen had everything that was needed and the port hole window added something extra special ✨

Perfect location, comfortable and quiet. Great value for money! We enjoyed our stay - The apartment is in a perfect location as it is straight across the road from the beach, next door to a cafe and bakery, and a few minutes walk to the bowls club. It is also only a few minutes drive to Cylinder Beach, Foodworks, the pub, and Point Lookout. The apartment has everything you'd need for a short or long stay. The stairs to the apartment and the bright lights at night from the carpark might be an issue for some. The kitchen is stocked with appliances and utensils, but nothing more (which other Airbnb's often have) so bring what you need or buy what you need once on the island. The same goes for the bathroom as far as shower gel/soap goes. Some dishwashing liquid, dishwasher powder, and washing powder was supplied which was handy! We'd stay again!

23 The Islander is a light, bright, modern, well appointed apartment on 3rd floor with nice fresh air breezes. It’s very quiet and peaceful and wish we had more time to spend there. Would recommend.

Property managers so easy to deal with was worried it may have been difficult but they made it a breeze. Location is perfect

Great place! Quick walk to cylinder beach and nice pool and tennis court. Bit of a walk to some of the shops but very easy with a car. Highly recommend!

The Ray White Straddie Team were highly professional and warmly welcoming. They were a pleasure to deal with and went above and beyond to assist.

This is a great little studio in a great location across the road from home beach. The apartment is well equipped and has been newly renovated. The beds were comfy including the sofa bed which we used as there were 3 staying. The bathroom was large and we had lovely Kookaburras visiting our balcony. Chillers Cafe is next door, l Would stay again.

Great apartment in a great location!

We loved our stay at 23a! The studio apartment was perfect for our weekend away - it was extremely handy for the beach and only a short walk to a variety of restaurants. We arrived on the island late and after hours; however, picking up the keys from a local food shop could not have been easier! We would definitely recommend staying here.

Henk’s place was absolutely amazing. Everything was sparkling clean, great amenities, and in the most perfect location. Henk was so helpful with absolutely everything we needed and responded to us immediately every time. He even left candles and a lighter as I told him I was coming for my birthday. We will definitely be coming back to stay here!! Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else on straddie. :) :)

Such a beautiful spot. The shack was the perfect size and had absolutely everything you would need. I had great fun lounging by the pool. Was quiet and peaceful. Communication was great,and I especially liked the book they left sharing things to do around the island. Also, the shower had great water pressure!

We had an amazing stay at the Island Shack. Henk was a fantastic host who made sure our weekend was the best it could be. The shack itself is a cool space nestled amongst the trees, with the beach directly across the road. Will definitely be back !!

A little slice of heaven on Home beach! Hanks place had everything we needed, was very comfortable, and only a hop and a skip to the surf and sand. Great pool just meters away, same goes for cafe with French bakery - yum. Perfect for a break away from the city, and some island magic.

Great location to explore this amazing island from. The pool is also great to finish your day relaxing.

The facilities are complete. The most important thing is that the host is very nice. We arrived early and let us check in early. Originally, it was always 10 AM to check out. He agreed to come back at 12 to get our luggage and clean up later. Henk is the best landlord I've ever met. If you want to visit the Stradbroke Island, Henk's shack is the best choice.

Nicole and her little place are all that the previous reviews rave about. We had two very special weeks in Nicole's unique and welcoming orbit, and we hope we have the opportunity to stay here when we return to Straddie.

Nicole is a spectacular host and I feel incredibly lucky to have ended up at the shack. The location is perfect - high on a hill with views to Main beach and lovely sea breezes. It's quiet up there but easy to get to the main street for food and drink. The shack has a great outdoor living space with hammocks and couches and an outdoor shower for cooling off after the beach. Nicole grew up on the island so she can tell you all the secrets! I loved the casual, easy vibe of this incredibly beautiful island and I experienced more of Straddie's charms and quirks because of Nicole who gave me a quick driving tour on arrival and (as I didn't have a car) helped me get a few groceries. She also introduced me to the neighbours and really made me feel like a special guest rather than just one of many. I was on my own so that was particularly appreciated. I loved living in the shack and hope to return.

The Funky Little Shack was the most amazing place to stay! It was such a cool place and a perfect way to experience Straddie. Nicole was the most amazing host and provided us with great tips. If anyone is planning on visiting Straddie, highly recommend staying at the Funky Little Shack!

Truly a funky little retreat! Quirky accommodation with thoughtful touches like insect repellent and tea and coffee. In a great location as well. Excellent value for money.

I loved my 2 week stay at The Funky Little Shack! Nicole is a wonderful host and communicating with her was a breeze. The place was exactly what I needed for a beach vacation. Great value for money and I would still be there in the hammock if I could be.

Words can’t describe how phenomenal this little “Funky Shack” is. Defiantly recommend for those looking for a mix of home luxury. Can not fault Nicole on anything. 100% recommend.

This place is great! Very cool space with an cabin feel. Loved the outdoor areas too. Host was very helpful and quick to respond. It is at the top of a steep hill so need to be able to walk up that. Very short drive to shops, cafes and beaches.

Great place for a Straddie getaway! My daughter and I really enjoyed our time here. Very peaceful nestled amongst the trees out on the deck with a cup of tea; comfy bedding with quality sheets; outdoor shower added to the novelty; foxtel, aircon, convenient sink next to the barbq to wash dishes (from other reviews it had seemed like there was no sink for this purpose but there is!); 5 mins down the road and you’re straight on Home Beach. Kym was very prompt responding to queries and keeping in touch to ensure we had checked in safely! Great little spot, highly recommend!

My partner, my son and I stayed a weekend at Kym's place. It is a few minutes walk from the beach (so divine) and the studio itself is very comfortable and very beautiful. Kym's hospitality is second to none, we had a wonderful time and we would stay there again without hesitation! Thank you, Kym!

Serenity, beauty and tranquility

An honest and pleasing experience in all regards. Views spectacular and amenities clean and comfortable.

Headlands Chalet is the most unique creative accomodation you are likely to find on Straddie or anywhere. It's held together with love and a great use of paint. It's super peaceful, it was quiet when we went anyway, so quiet. The view from the deck is amazing, and the huge pines are something else. Lazing about in the heat of the day waiting for the cool of the afternoon is a real pleasure. Nights can be tricky as there no screens on the windows, and if there is no breeze it can be warm in the room. The bird life is an amazing soundscape and the soft call of the curlews at night are very sweet. We would def go again.

Perfect spot for a relaxed escape from the day to day bustle and up close enjoyment of nature, location and simple pleasures. So easy to negotiate with public transport from "the mainland". A fantastic first stay that will be repeated many times. The cabins offer a relaxed getaway for a great price with fantastic views and local access.

Amazing views and a great location for a stradbroke stay

This is by far the cheapest accommodation at Point Lookout. This is because the accommodation is old. However it is possibly the best location on the island, the rooms are simple but clean, Tracy the manager is very welcoming and all communication was fantastic. We found the information provided was accurate.

Donna’s place is in a great location as it’s really near the main beach. I would really recommend for future travelers who want to get close to nature. Thanks Donna!

Perfect spot in a great location. Lovely and quiet (apart from the bountiful wildlife - saw a koala in the car park!) and lovely to have a morning coffee on the deck in relative privacy. The place was spotlessly clean and right opposite the beach. Great cafe and pool at the complex, highly recommend.

The architect’s retreat is a stunning place to stay! Love how the space opens out into the beautiful Stradbroke environment. Lovely ocean glimpses from the back deck. We loved bathing in the outdoor shower. The linen and bed was lovely and comfortable. We brought our dog along. The property is well fenced and a great space for a dog.

Kirani’s place was the perfect retreat for my partner and I. Such a great location to all the beaches at Point Lookout. The house was so clean and had everything we needed for our trip. Don’t go past this place if you’re looking for a nice, relaxing place to getaway.

The Architect's Retreat was the perfect place for us! Conveniently located, clean and very peaceful. Kirani made our stay especially pleasant with all the little touches including a lovely welcome note. Defintely made our first trip to Straddie very enjoyable!

Kirani’s place was a beautiful home away from home. We honestly didn’t want to leave. It had everything we needed and more. Loved the special little touches like the coffee pods and bottle of wine. Alice's place is super cute and very well-positioned. The nearest beach is a few minutes walk away, but there are many different beach options that are all within walking distance. The pub with it's amazing views is a short distance in one direction whilst the shops and eateries of Point Lookout a short distance in the other. Definitely worth a repeat visit!

Great unit in a good location . Easy access. Nice and quiet and you can hear the ocean from the back bedroom and yard .A really comfy place to stay for a few days break . Everything you need is supplied in the unit . Good shower .A walk to the beach and foodworks across the road . Also a lovely little cafe and homewares store just up the road on the same side as unit . Beaches are delightful. The highlight was having our labradoodle with us .

Great place, well kept. Was nice to have an entire house to ourselves. Only a short walk to cylinder beach! No views but we decided to compromise on that due to the beautiful interior of the home and the shorter winter days meaning we spent much of our time inside. Amazing place! Close to everything

Only a few minutes walk to Main Beach, The Gorge, shops and restaurants. The accommodation was exactly as advertised. It was a hot week so we were thankful for the cross breeze and ceiling fan. Priced well especially during peak season. We will stay again next time we visit.

Absolutely loved our weeks stay at Simons place, we did not want to leave!! Currawong is a beautiful beach house with a tranquil atmosphere, surrounded by trees and is very quiet and private. Lovely cool sea breezes thru the house, so relaxing and peaceful. Loved waking up in the morning to the sounds of birds and hearing the ocean at night. Great kitchen for preparing meals. Outdoor shower to wash off sand before going up steps to the house. Walking distance to the stunning beaches on Stradbroke Island and also to everywhere else. You wouldn't need a car while staying here as it is so central. Bobs general store a minutes walk away, everything seemed to be reasonably priced. This is our first visit to Currawong holiday house and Stradbroke Island and it won't be our last. Thanks to Simon and Bridget for being such wonderful and caring hosts. Hope to come back and stay again.

We had a great time staying in this house. Open layout with lots of breezes but with a private feel, in the treetops. Cylinder beach and shops both short walk away. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

An awesome treetop, quaint, cosy, bungalow. Close to all amenities and beaches. Saw a kangaroo, the curlews were around early in the morning. A great place to chillax.

We had a fantastic two nights at Jason & Angela's. Check in was super easy, the space was immaculate and bed was comfier that our own at home. The view was to die for and we really enjoyed the wildlife. I hope we get to visit again soon.

This is a beautiful space. It’s very large, well equipped, cool and breezy (even in January) with sea views & a lovely outdoor space. It was perfectly placed for us - we wanted to be close to the walks and cafes at Point Lookout and to the Dive operators Manta. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Everything was perfect

We really enjoyed Unit 5 at The Lookout. The views are spectacular, it was very well set up with good quality kitchenware. Beautiful polished floors. Plenty of interesting pieces of artwork to brighten your day too. There are stairs which may be a problem for some but we managed. Would stay here again if we ever wanted to visit North Stradbroke Island again.

Very stylish and spacious apartment with a great balcony. Excellent location- cylinder beach right opposite which was calm enough to swim in, the RSL an easy 5 minute walk and the Foodworks a 5 minute drive/20 minute walk. The pool was nice and everything seemed well kept up, with a communal barbecue. All communication with Ray White was prompt and courteous and the guy in the reception was really chill and nice.

This is a quirky, clean apartment with easy access to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Stradbroke.

Beautiful apartment close to everything you need

Wonderful spacious apartment and amazing views. It is probably a drive to the beach or a 25 minute walk to Cylinder beach. Bring all washing detergents (dishwasher / sink / laundry) and bathroom items such as toilet paper and soaps etc. Lots of rooms to move around in, and lovely large dining table.

We absolutely loved our stay. The aspect & view were stunning. As regular travelers we were a bit disappointed by the lack of domestic supplies. 1 toilet roll for 2 people for one week. No shampoo, no soap, no tissues. One very small squeeze packet of detergent & one of laundry detergent. Ok if you have a car & arrive before the shops are closed. Even when traveling in remote areas of India, we were provided with these supplies. It is the kind of small gesture that makes a guest feel welcome.

Gorgeous little cottage with all you need and an unexpectedly huge back deck with incredible views and the soothing sounds of the waves. Many a happy hour was spent out there reading and being lulled by the sounds. A nice selection of books as well. Would definitely stay again.

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic. I specially appreciate Chris’ communication with us and their flexibility with our check-out time considering the weather. Their attention to details is also worth mentioning they included chocolate, coffee and games that were definitely a great addition. Also, the views from the loft, are just awesome. It is definitely worth mentioning that staying so close to the Point Lookout shops is a massive good thing to have, specially if you’re travelling to Stradbroke without your car. Perfect location for easy access to stunning beaches, the gorge walk and the local restaurants, bakery and ice cream parlour. Huge comfortable living area and private deck with lovely view out to sea. Really well equipped especially for children with plenty of plastic crockery etc. Sheltered parking and the pool an added bonus. Very comfortable beds! Excellent communication from the hosts who were also extremely flexible with sleeping arrangements and check in, check out times. Would highly recommend for any family looking for a relaxing and very comfortable stay at Point Lookout.

Perfect place to explore Straddie!

The dog friendly property has a room that is quite a nice size and filled with beautiful surfy decorations. The location is very quiet and in a great spot just a 5 minute or so walk down to the dog friendly beach. Would definitely recommend for a couple of mates heading over for a surf

Sarah’s place is clean and tidy. It’s located about 3 km from Point Lookout. Sarah was helpful and kind. There wasn’t any wifi which is one area for improvement. But overall everything was good.

A good position at the entrance to Point Lookout near the Dive Centre . The kitchen/diner is large and well equipped and two good bedrooms. The living room needs lights on as in centre of flat but has comfortable seating and TV for an evening in. Lovely birds all around with a great dawn chorus. Friendly and helpful owners family living above.

The "beach cave" is a great place to get away and unwind. Beach is literally across the road, and Point Lookout is about 5min drive away. Cylinder Beach also close by and very calm - great for the little ones. Sarah's place is simple, yet very comfortable and clean. The bed is comfy and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals (roasts, fried veg, etc). Minimal phone reception makes the place perfect for a "digital detox", allowing you to just "be" and enjoy all the wonder of Straddie. Highly recommend for anyone heading to North Straddie looking for a good home base

It is our favorite place on the North Stradbroke and Sally is our favorite host . Highly recommended and hope to return again and again !!

Sally’s place was just what the group needed. It had great views over the island and the crystal blue ocean. The house was super clean and everything we needed was provided. Will be back and would definitely recommend!

Lucinda Lodge was exactly as described. Such a sweet little home at Point Lookout. Everything we could’ve wished for, and the location was perfect, a 2 minute walk from our morning coffee fix. The beach and Gorge walk are so close. We didn’t need the car once we got there. We loved the BBQ and enjoyed meals on the balcony, while watching the waves below. Kangaroos lazing in the garden! What more could you want!

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything you need is provided, we spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck with the great view. Walking distance to the main strip on point lookout.

Sally's place has it all, breathtaking views, beach side charm and in an excellent location. The house is an open design with an amazing deck for entertaining friends. It has all the comforts of home and a functional kitchen to cook up a storm. The assortment of kids games and toys were an excellent addition. Highly recommended.

The Lookout House was an absolute dream and we enjoyed the stay so much. The rooms are huge, much bigger than they seem on the photos. The living and cooking area is amazing! We loved to cook there with stunning views of the ocean and bay. The bedrooms with sea view were also wonderful, you get woken up here with a view of the sunrise and beautiful Cylinder beach. The house is the perfect base to discover North Stradbroke Island, but even on rainy days it was perfect and fun to just stay inside and relax. The communication with Sally was great, and even a late check-out was possible at short notice. We definitely want to come back one day!

A great place to stay. Plenty of places to sit & enjoy the fabulous view. Open the doors & let the sea breeze in. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, with a washing machine & dryer in the second make it very practical. Great pool in the complex. I would highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed.

The views are breathtaking from the balconies, the house has everything you could need, the space is comfortable stylish and modern, and so so spacious, also sparkling clean. We really couldn’t fault a thing and would come back in a heartbeat! Beautiful location, felt like a home from home!

Loved David's place! We were worried about the location as it's a little far from the beach, but we loved it anyway. There's a seafood store selling fresh fish around the corner and a restaurant/bar a few blocks away. We were able to really enjoy the place. We drove around to get to the beach and the market, but it's very easy to drive in Straddy, so not a problem.

The view was magnificent! It has everything we needed. My kids enjoyed feeding the fishes. The Spa was great. We loved every bit of the house. A great thanks to David!

We had an amazing time at Ascension, and are very grateful to David for his hospitality and communication. This place has to have one of the best views on Straddie! We loved the homey touches around the place like the friendly Kookaburras who visited us every day for snacks, the tea/coffee and full kitchen facilities, and the large screen TV for catching the Australian Open. David was a wonderful host - replying very quickly to any and all enquiries and facilitating check-in and check-out to best suit our needs! We annually visit Straddie for the Australia Day long weekend - this was the by far the best place we've stayed yet! Thanks so much to David and Ascension for an incredible time!!

We loved our holiday at Halyna’s place. It had everything we needed and the space felt like home for the few days we were there. Loved having a coffee out of the deck in the morning and the location was great! Would definitely stay again.

This place is absolutely beautiful and the design of this house is incredible. My partner and I took our two dogs here for a weekend away and we all loved it. We also loved how it was so close to the dog beach, the local shops and the pub. Thank-you for letting us stay at your beautiful house, we will be back here for another weekend away soon 😊

A very impressive cabin with wonderful open design and high ceilings. Great back balcony with views over treetops to the water. Very stylish bathroom and fit-out throughout. Lovely front courtyard off of the single bedroom. Very secure and private feeling with only the kitchen window and front door offering any view of the neighbours.

A wonderful getaway. The property presentation was excellent. A lovely sea breeze greeted us every morning. This is a piece of paradise.

Really lovely apartment in a great location, close to all the amenities in Point Lookout. The apartment was really clean, modern and the beds very comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower! The deck is lovely and overlooks the bushland. The hosts were very helpful.
