This is a room share opportunity in literally the best area in Brooklyn!! A bit about the room: Chest drawer and a bed with extra storage underneath. Tons of natural sun light We have a Pitbull he is a puppy and suuuuper friendly. 10 months he is adorable and he gets really excited about people coming over but If you don’t like dogs, this is not the place for you. Air conditioner and heat in the room Close access to the bathroom
Only cool people live there 💜🤗
Right near tons of nice restaurants, shops, grocery stores, bars and much more, the waterfront, it is located in the heart of williamsburg! You definitely should visit Domino's Park Two blocks away from the L train “Bedford ave”

Ideal for couples and solo travelers, private bedroom w/ queen-size bed (with the possibility of having an extra guest on an air mattress) within a 2-bedrooms apartment in the vibrant neighborhood of Washington Heights, Manhattan. Only 1 block away from the 175th st A train that runs straight to the JFK Airport and along the west part of Manhattan (15 min to Central Park, 20 min to Times Square!!!).
The apartment is huge and super bright, with a large living area, modern kitchen and bathroom, in a really quite area close to the Hudson river, the George Washington bridge, and the J Hood Wright Park. The room is equipped with a queen size bed, desk, dresser, closet, AC window unit and internet flat screen TV. Living room with couch, dining table, and breakfast corner. Kitchen is equipped with microwave and coffee machines for your use. Full bath. Laundry and elevator in the building.
The neighborhood has a lot to offer including a gorgeous park, lots restaurants, bars, banks and parks. Seven minute walk to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Great retreat to get a solid night's rest for med students or friends/family visiting someone in the hospital. There are two gyms within a block away of the apartment. Lots of grocery stores and nearby shopping.
  • Valentina's place is perfect for a touristy trip to NY. First of all, it's a very safe area and a 3 minute walk - literally, a 3 minute walk to the subway (where there is an express train that takes you directly to manhattan). It's a 7-10 minute walk to Mike's bagels (very good bagels - try the lox) so no problem there. Infact, our first leg of the trip was in NJ which was a pain to commute back and forth to so this was perfecto. Secondly, the room is big and ideal - lots of space. The bed comfortable - Valentina provided extra blankets / pillows inside the closet. There is a full sized mirror which I loved adn now that I think about it, I might have moved it a little bit and forgot to move back. Bathroom was clean and right in front of the guest room so it almost seemed like you had your own little unit. In the morning, there was delicious coffee and some breakfast snacks - perf for the time the train takes to take you to the city - my husband was in love with the coffee. She herself was super friendly and we chatted for a while. On our last day, our flight wasn't until 5 so Valentina, very graciously let us leave our bags and come back, use the bathroom and leave - which I thought was so kind! Thank you for a wonderful stay and we are sure to come back!!! love.

  • Very close to the train station making sightseeing easy. Would definitely stay again if I'm ever in the neighborhood

  • Great Location, very comfortable bed. Nice hosts.

    Niklas2019-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with a shared apartment air bnb. I was comfortable booking this one because of the reviews but I was a little disappointed in the appearance of the tub which hadn't been cleaned and the overflowing of the waste basket. Id recommend cleaning the bathroom throughly before having guest. The comforter on the bed didn't seem clean and had a smell. I'd recommend changing sheets and comforters as well. My stay was fine besides that and was a great location. Valentina was very good with communication and I didn't see Carlos has much but I did meet him and he seemed very nice.

    Vaneshia2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome. It’s around the block from the subway. It’s a large room and near the bathroom. Valentina communicated quickly and made sure I had everything I needed.

    Logan2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice! Easy to get into the city from. Carlo was very friendly too.

    Jeanne2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, comfortable, accommodating hosts, quick response to questions. Highly recommended.

    Sandy2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • This room is exactly as described and had everything you need for a short stay. The bathroom is located right across the room and Valentina leaves out an assortment of breakfast items for you (including Nespresso). The space was clean and location can’t be beat. Her apartment is a 2 min walk from the subway and the neighborhood is quiet.

It's a very quiet mix community. We are 2 blocks away from the boardwalk. Perfect location for surfing and biking. Approximately 5 minutes walk from the A train and half hour train ride to the JFK or 15 minute drive to JFK.
This room size is 17ft by 15ft in other 255 square feet This gives you enough space to sit in and get work done although the bed is king-size.
  • We had a great time at Gary's place. The communication was super easy and quick, Gary is a great host and there when you need him, very nice and kind and wants to share all he know about the area. The place looks exactly like it does on the pictures, the rooms is very clean and the bed is really comfy. The place is 15-20 min ride to JFK. We had a great stay!

  • Place is as described. Room is private, all my needs where met after a long flight.

  • Gray is a great host very pleasant very helpful will different be back. Thanks again Gray

    Massie2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • House was quiet even while full. Secure room. Bed was very comfy, projector tv was nice to have. There is a table in the room as well with suggested menus. Over all great stay

    Mostafa2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm and engaging host. Highly recommended! The place is easily accessible from the subway.

    kingori2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Private room was clean and Gary took the time to check me in earlier than usual.

    Katie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is in Far Rockaway, which is relatively close to JFK, and at the very end of the A train line. Gary was communicative throughout the reservation process, which I appreciates. The room I stayed in was tidy and secure. The bathroom had clearly not been cleaned in a while, so that was unpleasant. I just needed a place to shower and crash before catching a very early flight, and this served that purpose.

Private room in a charming Soho apartment. Close to Washington Sq park, Greenwich Village, East Village and Chinatown. Perfect for shopping and dining within walking distance. Easy access to all major subway lines.
Full Size organic Keetsa bed in a beautiful exposed brick wall room with two windows facing 6Th Ave. Internet/Wifi. Sheets and towels, shampoo/conditioner and soap provided. This is a 5Th Floor walk-up (4 flights of stairs). Great neighborhood with plenty of cute restaurants, shops and cafe's. Close to the Highline, Hudson River Walks and Washington Sq Park. Very close to the C and E train. R, N, 1 and 6 are a few blocks away.
I love living in Soho. It is a convenient location and I can walk and/or take the subway and get to where I want to go quickly.
  • Eva was a wonderful host. Great communication, accommodating and room was clean and comfortable.

    Debbie2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Eva's flat is ideally located in Soho, especially for a short 2 day trip like mine. The flat is 4 flight of stairs up in a traditional NY building. Room and all were spotlessly clean and bed is very comfy. Not much light but not an issue since I spent most of my time outside. The fact that the shower is in the kitchen and the only toilet in the guest bedroom can be a bit off putting but Eva is a very discrete host and, again, it worked for me for a short stay. Eva was available through-out the stay and we had entertaining morning coffee chats. I'd definitely recommend Eva's flat.

  • Eva’s apartment was quirky but very cute. She was ever so kind and hospitable. The location was everything! Around the corner from great shopping and feet away from the subway. I would definitely stay here again.

    Veronica2018-12-02T00:00:00Z

It is also very close to the subway station, which is perfect if you need to travel around. The flat is cozy and clean and Eva has been a nice and welcoming host, always ready to help. Nice stay, thanks Eva!

Small room in huge apartment in the heart of the East Village.
Great location, big common room, cozy bedroom. Quiet apartment.
Near restaurants pubs and downtown arts. Near union square and shopping. Central location. Grocery nearby, great kitchen. Laundry across the street. Pub in the building has a fireplace, good eats and a cheap happy hour. Antique / inde movie theater next door. Live music nearby.
  • Nancy room is very very little and not a fantastic place to stay: so choose it if you only have to sleep in a very well connected position near West Village in NY!

    Filippo2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was always available to answer my questions. The location of the place is really good if you´re interested in being in East Village, surrounded by great places to go and all sorts of transportation alternatives

    Jorge2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The purpose of my stay was to interview at NYU, so the location was good. However, the bedroom was extremely small, it almost seems like it was previously a closet. There are holes in the wall that are not shown in pictures because it is covered by artwork. When I used the bathtub, the drain was clogged by a ball of hair, and when the water pooled in the bathtub, a bug was floating at the top. The only place that is air conditioned is in the bedroom, no where else. No where to hang professional clothes. No clothes hanger. I brought a suit, so it would have been nice to hang it up. Luckily, they had an iron. The host was very prompt and responsive, and allowed me to check in before the official check in time. Got used to everything by the second day, but would not recommend to a friend.

    Philip2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's place is in a prime location for commuting into Manhattan or Brooklyn. The metro at Union Square is just a few blocks away, and trains come every few minutes. The East Village is probably my favorite part of NYC because of the location, incredible food, and wonderful people and culture. Nancy and her partner are gracious and considerate. I would like to stay again soon!

    Tami2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location. Room was tiny but expected. Check-in communication was very efficient. Would definitely stay again

    Georgina2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy made checking in easy and the space is amazing, affordable, and in a great location.

    Matt2019-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Unbeatable location, very straightforward everything! Would recommend

    Santiago2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: cheap and close to everything you need. Right near a train station. Host very responsive to calls and was able to help when I accidentally locked myself out of the room. Bed was comfortable. Check in/out process was super simple and stress free Cons: mold in the bathroom. The bedroom was very dusty with old washed out sheets that need to be updated. My allergies were acting up both days that I was there. Would stay in this apartment again just not in that room.

  • Cant recommend charlie's place enough! Charlie Was welcoming, his place is very clean and a comfortable stay. Place is perfectly situated and a short walk and you got food shops and the train to the city. Would definitely stay again!!

    Dai2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Although I was very busy with work, Charlie was a wonderful host, with a very clean and comfortable home. The bed is the best I have slept in in an Airbnb. Love the memory foam!

    Abby2018-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Millie is asgreat communicator and check-in was a breeze, even at 2am. we didn't like that the path to the bathroom passed by somebody's bed. the location was great and available amenities were great.

  • This room was great for two people also the host is really nice guy! Location was also great, it took within 10minutes and 30minutes from metro and Manhattan. I’ll be willing to stay again if I go to NY again.

  • Millie is a great host and so is the location. Just be aware that the place is “railroad style” and you need to walk through the host’s bedroom to use the bathroom. If that doesn’t bother you then it’s wonderful

Very basic and functional environment consistent with fee. I slept well, and Millie went out of his way to accommodate my timing. Much appreciated.

  • It is a great place to stay and I had a awesome experience. Super clean and great hospitality from Lydia. It is much much better stay than some of proven hotel chain. I would strongly suggest for anyone who wants to stay close to NYC and economical.Overall awesome host(Lydia) and fantastic place to stay.

    Raja2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lydia was very hospitable and was diligent about providing a continental breakfast every morning. Never a hint of irritability - I've had some unpleasant hosts, but Lydia was not one of them. She was always cheerful and willing to answer questions and provide anything I needed to make it a pleasant stay. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it highly to everyone.

  • It is important to iterate that this is a shared space lodging; you will be sharing the common area which is where your bed and belongings are located; the listing states 1 bedroom but this is a private quarters for one of the tenants, the other will sleep on the couch next to your bed. In saying this, the location of this listing is absolutely amazing! Located only moments away from the Empire State Building and metro stations, you can walk or ride to anywhere in NYC in record time! I was out for the majority of everyday and only returning for sleep or a rest while charging up my phone, making location the winner in the value of renting this place. The hosts were quite friendly and helpful. The shower had good pressure.

    Alex2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Again, as other reviewers have written, if you are looking for a private space, then this place is not it. It's shared space with the host and wife. If your looking for a place to stay nearby the heart of NY and also nearby Ktown with great night life and food spots, highly recommended!

    Taka2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • He is a scam. I booked 3 nights. I did not stay even 1. He answered my questions, helped me how to get there. But once there he said that as he had done me the favour of keeping my luggage earlier I had to do him a favour and sleep on the 3rd night in the same room with 2 men. When I booked IT said I was going to be alone. Then he changed IT. There is not a bedroom, the bed he offers is in the kitchen, which is also a living room, which is also a dining room and an entrance way, a very Tiny place. Then he told me to lie to people. He said that of somebody asked me I should not say he was hosting airbnb because Airbnb was illegal in NYC. He said I should say he was a friend of a friend and that we were having a Wedding party. I felt that my personal safety was at risk. And I am waiting for a refund. He never answered my message about the refund.

    Verónica2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Although it is a cozy spot, the value is great as long as you keep in mind it is a shared space. I was out and about most of the day and the location was extremely convenient, located right next to the station with many restaurants and stores around so you have everything you need at any time. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating, just ask if you need anything. The bed was super comfortable and shower water pressure was A+

    Diep2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to visit New-York. Close to the different main place of New-York : Empire State Building, Time Square (15 min by walking). Please note that it is a shared room with a queen bed for visitors. The price is very cheap.

    Jean Prince2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first negative experience with an Airbnb host and place in my 2+ years of using Airbnb to travel. My dad and I were staying for one evening to see a concert at Madison Square Garden and the location was perfect. However, when we arrived we saw that there was one bed and a "sofabed" which was more like a loveseat. A full-grown adult could not sleep comfortably on this, even for a night, so we felt the listing information was inaccurate and 3 guests could not comfortably sleep there, let alone two adults who did not want to sleep in the same bed. When we entered the apartment, Antonio's wife was smoking cigarettes while sitting on the couch (where I would have had to sleep) and asked if we minded, after the fact that she was already smoking. We left and came back within the hour and after being told that we could "come and go as we please" we found the host and his wife in their bed with the door to their bedroom open. My dad stated that he saw the host come to the open door completely in the nude! We immediately left and got a hotel, and I requested a full refund from Airbnb, which I was granted within 48 hours of my incident report. While Antonio was a friendly host, I would not recommend this location for anyone, but especially women traveling alone, anyone who does not care for smoking, and people who have personal boundaries. Antonio has not yet reached out to apologize or respond to my email about what took place.

  • Antonio is a social, wellread and funny guy. The location is perfect, couple of blocks from the Empire State building. I had a good time staying with him. As long as you know you're sleeping in de same room as the host and his wife is sleeping in another room and you're sharing the kitchen, bathroom and livingroom.

    Jonathan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Good hospitality and very friendly. Value of money especially for people just use the place only for sleeping. People who like friendship also will be good in this place.

  • Rahul was a wonderful host! He was very accommodating and made my family's stay in NYC very comfortable.

    Elena2012-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood and safe

    Tony2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very good welcome from Rahul and his wife Susham. The subway to downdown is in a walking distance and you pass through Columbia university campus with an enjoyable experience. The building and the surroundings was safe and we haven't felt any negative feeling concerning our security. Bedi's offered us breakfast stuff and provided us the PC we needed.

    Suleyman2012-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat! Glad to recommend Mr and Mrs Bedi, who are supportive, knowledgeable and fun. They make a perfect host and build a warm atmosphere. It is the ideal location for any tourists seeking to explore NYC and/or Columbia scholars, being located in the walking range to any of the school's buildings.

    Florin2014-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Rahul and Susham are wonderful hosts. Very friendly, great conversations and very helpful in finding local resources. The location really can't be beat if you are studying at Columbia. The neighborhood is excellent, feels very safe and has plenty to see and do within walking distance.

    Jonathan2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rahul was very welcoming and overall I had a very good experience at his place. Extremely convenient for Columbia.

    Katinka2014-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Rahul and Susham for one month. The check-in process was easy, and our room had been cleaned for our arrival. The location of their apartment is incredibly convenient, particularly if you are working or studying in the area. The neighbourhood itself is lively with students about, so we always felt safe. Rahul and Susham are pleasant hosts, and always willing to help should you have questions.

  • Rhonda's place is gorgeous and clean, and is elevated to great heights by the level of hospitality that Rhonda displays. Home-cooked breakfast, private bathroom, nice little touches in the room, and the ability to come and go as we pleased all made this one the BEST stays on airbnb. Book with confidence.

    Raymond2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's BnB is wonderful! Her home is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We slept like a babies in the comfortable bed and quiet room. She provided everything for our visit including robes, slippers, extra toiletries and a first-aid kit. We really enjoyed the conversation around the breakfast table with Rhonda and James. We highly recommend Rhonda's BnB to anyone visiting Brooklyn! We'll go back in a heartbeat! Thank you, Rhonda!

    Susan2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's place is super clean, close to the trains and she serves a lovely breakfast, yes a real breakfast as you would find in a B and B.

    Rosemary2018-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat to stay at Rhonda's B&B. Rhonda and her family went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Her home was beautifully decorated for Xmas inside and out. We loved coming in after a busy day to such a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Her breakfasts were delicious and generous. I enjoyed relaxing in the sitting room. The bed and linens were very comfortable. There were many extras provided, ie toiletries, frig in room with beverages. I would definitely stay here again.

    Emily2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic!

    Maurice2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda was a great host. Her home was very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. She met us at check in and made breakfast every morning. During the week she left before we got up (9:00) and she left us a nice homemade breakfast. We had our room upstairs and our own bathroom just outside in the hall, plus a nice little sitting room. Except for eating in the dining room, we did not use the rest of her home. The house is a half mile walk to the G train and a little less than a mile to the A-C train. There are a lot of restaurants close by, we ate at a good Trinidad place (Ali's Roti) and Jewish Deli (Dave's Brisket House). There is also a little park a half a block from the house that especially nice as the Magnolia and cherry trees were in bloom. We went to the 10:00 Sunday service at Concord Baptist church a few blocks away that was a highlight as the music was good and the people were so welcoming. Although my wife and I did not see them much, Rhonda and her daughter could not have been nicer.

    David2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's b&b is wonderful! Warm hospitality; clean, comfortable rooms; and tons of extras. Rhonda made me a huge breakfast every morning and made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable. The outdoor space is just as lovely as it looks in the pictures. I would definitely stay here again.

    Natasha2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at Rhonda's amazing, elegant bed and breakfast for just one night; but, will make sure it's more than that next time! Our every need was anticipated by our fantastic host! The bedroom with queen size bed, private bathroom and sitting room were more than comfortable and clean. Rhonda's home is beautifully designed and so inviting. We especially enjoyed the fantastic breakfast that Rhonda and James prepared for us, as well as the stimulating conversation around the lovely breakfast table. We didn't have enough time to enjoy the little oasis of a backyard; but, look forward to doing so on our next visit! We feel like we've found paradise in Brooklyn and can't wait to go back! Thank you so much, Rhonda!

  • Jefry was a great host, always attentive and offering to make coffee or breakfast. As an intern his apartment was a great set up for someone looking for a no-frills apartment already pre-furnished.

    Richard2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffry was very gracious in waiting up for me as my bus from DC was 2 hours late. I didn't get to Jeffry's apartment until after midnight, but was greeted warmly and with a smile. As I only needed to sleep, shower and be off, we unfortunately didn't have much conversation. However, Jeffry was always available and made me feel at home!

    Abdullah2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ephraim was so kind. The room was so small but it was comfortable. His cats were so cute. They were so quiet and polite. They did not disturb me. Here was almost good, but only one problem was smell of smoking.

    Daichi2014-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jefry was very warm and a great host. He looked after me really well. Great location, I would stay again!

  • Friendly host. Not the cleanest flat though...

    Charles2014-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • I took a bit of a chance booking two stays in a row before staying this first time, but based on Jefry's other reviews I thought the chance was worth it. The other reviews were right! I had a fantastic stay. The place is exactly as described, arrival communication was excellent, the bed is very comfortable, and Jefry is a wonderful host. I am looking forward to returning.

    David2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jefrey is an amazing host! He loves cooking meals and is the most friendly guy. His room is an appropriate size and very efficient. The location of the apartment is perfect. I would recommend Jefrey's room to any Airbnb traveler.

  • Clean friendly cozy and very convenient. Not fancy, but very homey. Lisel the owner does serious community work for Haiti relief. Large shared kitchen. Like staying in someone's home, which it is. Perfect for visiting family for a few days. Lisel is very gracious and conscientious and fixed room mix- up immediately. Large stone shower. I'd stay here again for sure. Thanks!

    Lori2010-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you like Brooklyn, if you like Haiti, if you care, if you like sharing, talking, connecting, cooking, chilling, please join this house in this great neighbourhood. Enjoy the sun in the backyard, have a chat with the activist-host on new forms of social economy, or on how to save the world vol.3, and then go sip some hip coffee on the swedish espresso bar nextdoor.

    Egest2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I really enjoyed our short stay here. The house is filled with books and artsy clutter. Lisel and Seija are friendly and very pleasant hosts. We also ate breakfast at Seija's vegan restaurant, Sun in Bloom. Delicious. Lisel is generous and welcoming. The house is clean, the bed in the first floor front bedroom very comfortable. We had a very quiet night, with the exception of a car alarm. The bathroom situation is quirky, with a shower just off the living room and the teensiest powder room in the world, but it just takes a little flexibility and good humor to adjust. Great, quiet but fun Park Slope neighborhood--a bookbinder a couple doors away, coffee shop, all sorts of restaurants around the corner on Fifth. We had a Colombian lunch at Bogota and a wonderful supper at Alchemy. It's just a few short blocks to the Bergen St. subway station. Be advised there are two Bergen St. stations!

    Lauren2010-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lisel's was great. I needed to add a room at the last minute. She was so accommodating. My family really enjoyed her home. It is very different from what they're accustomed to. For me, I found there is so much information in the host and the home. If you're an avid reader, you will find much joy in the abundance of literature there. This is a great place for family and good friends to stay. I would definitely stay there again. Another good note, Lisel is very passionate in her service to community both near and far. I enjoy people who are unselfish in their plight to serve those that are less fortunate.

    Sandra2011-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel is a wonderful host. The house is really nice. Located in a nice and safe neighborhood. I would recommend the place to my friends.

  • Location close to two subways (or bus) for easy access to Manhattan. Very comfortable room, large bed (great bedding), one chair, but no real space to sit and relax (i.e. living room). Host Suzy is very friendly and accommodating. Bathroom is not an ensuite, but a few steps down the hall. Host's bedroom on same floor. Guests must be able to walk stairs, as the main floor is a full flight of stairs from the entrance, and the bedroom is another full flight from the main floor.

    Marion2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy is an awesome host - warm, friendly, helpful and you can tell she really enjoys having guests! It really felt like a home away from home, an oasis after a hectic NYC day. Very clean, well furnished, comfortable, great breakfast, close to transportation, and the bed is super comfy. I’d definitely stay again.

Nice neighborhood with kosher stores and restaurants near by. Bars and beer gardens can be reach by walking 10 min. Only 20 min to Manhattan! We are 2 station away from the botanic garden in Brooklyn. We are 4 blocks from the 3 train. We have an adorable Pomeranian male name Tobi:)
  • Leah was a great host. She has a little dog that is pretty protective, not dangerous or anything but will yip at you. If you’re afraid of dogs pass on this one, otherwise this was a great stay!

    Joshua2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • After my first day I ask Airbnb for a refund because I wanted to leave this place. It's full of roaches. I couldn't sleep at night and that has disturbed my whole schedule during my time in NYC. I'm still waiting for Airbnb to do something about it. If I knew from the beginning that they had roaches I wouldn't have booked that place. Plus leah told me that she knows about it and that it's a Brooklyn/NYC. She added that they have a guy coming once a month for that. By the looks of it that was kinda hard to believe.

    Axel2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The reviews scared me but this is a very clean space, looks like the pictures, the hostess is nice, attentive, gave me coffee. The area is really safe and it’s a very affordable option. Definitely a great option for someone on a budget. The bed is high and only agile people should attempt climbing it. Sophie and I would’ve visited again had the place been available but it was booked solid.

    Stephanie2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice apartment, close to everything in a great neighborhood, amazing host

    E2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Leah's house is in an interesting part of Brooklyn centred around the Jewish community which I liked exploring and getting to know. The house was good and the amenities are good value for New York and it's boroughs. The only considerations I would say for yourself if you are choosing to visit is that the kitchen is kosher so you will need to eat outside of the house (or in your room) and the loft bed has the normal acrobatics you would expect in a bunk bed. Overall, a positive stay in Crown Heights!

    Caroline2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Leah’s was such a great experience I stayed again a second time. The room is huge with AC. Check in is super simple and she gets back to u immediately via the app and WhatsApp. Super hospitable host/family. Highly recommend

    Michael2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great. It is a short walk to the subway or busses and located in a very safe neighbourhood. Lots of kosher restaurants nearby, and more variety a couple of streets over. 3rd floor walk up. Leah was a kind and interesting host. She does have a small dog, who gets very excited at any sign of a stranger, but it is harmless. Read the description, do not expect a kitchen, and be prepared for street noise at night. It is NYC, so this is to be expected. We had a bit of an emergency and the host was very accommodating and took care of things. All in all, I would stay there again.

    Andre2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Ms. Leah is a very very very nice lady. Great hospitality. Clean Apt, AC, clean room, great shower pressure and a comfortable bed. As for the neighborhood, by far one of the MOST safest neighborhood in NYC. Best!

I will highly recommend Tamara's place to everyone because I don't think you can find a better deal with the same comfort in this area. Goodbye and best wishes to the family.

  • This was my best stay to date, Tamara was an exceptional host she catered to my every need. It was my first time staying in a room in an apartment and I didn’t know what to expect however, I was pleasantly surprised. Her home was spotless and better than the pictures. She made me breakfast and made sure I was comfortable. I would definitely stay with Tamara again. In fact I think I found my new home away from home. Best host!!!

  • Highly recommended. Tamara's house is super clean with everything you need. The photos are exactly the same as the real room you will be staying. The bathroom is always clean even when sharing with other clients because Tamara cleans it multiple times every day. You get your own key to your room so good privacy. If you need a car, Tamara has a nice one to rent with full insurance and better rate than any car rental company. The neighborhood is beautiful, safe and quiet with a very nice park within 5 minutes’ drive. Tamara herself is a very kind people to help you with things you need. Always respond quickly with useful information. We stayed like a family with her lovely dog named Tommy. Overall, this is a 5-stars place that you can’t easily find somewhere else. I just extended my stay for another 10 days for the good experience here. You should book it before the dates are sold out!

  • Lisel is an awesome host. Her home is wonderful! We loved staying with her. The neighborhood is safe and family friendly. Lisel gives so much back to her community. It was a pleasure to meet and get to know her. She is a remarkable soul. This trip has been amazing and we look forward to the next time we can stay here. Thank you so much!!

    Suzanne2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good time: comfortable room, clean bathroom and kitchen, easy conversation with Lisel & other guests. A great option in the great neighborhood.

  • Had a very nice stay at the Cbg Guest House. It is very comfortable and so conveniently located. Accomodated my family of 4 perfectly for a one-night trip to Brooklyn. Hope to stay their again soon.

  • Lisel is an excellent host, and Community Be Good is a friendly, safe, clean place to stay. There's a community fridge and kitchen, as well as easy access to the subway. For the NYC area, the place is fairly quiet inside and out. This place is for open-hearted travelers .

    Leslie2013-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel is an amazing person who has a global mindset! We loved staying at her place. Amazing neighbourhood and very comfortable place. Very clean and relaxed house. Lisel was so flexible with the details of our stay, such as check in and check out. Highly recommended!

    Aycan2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We have chosen Lisel's place for our short NYC Thanksgiving escape. Our main consideration was Park Slope, but the social impact story behind the place also sounded attractive. It all ended as ambient and atmospheric experience in a very special home where we finally spent around 2 hours just talking to the host and sharing a Thanksgiving dinner. What I did not expect of what looked like an informal guesthouse, was a feel of ultimate home-like comfort. We even had a bathrobe! Little elements of style, paintings, books, decorations, toys for our daughter... this is why we choose airbnb when we travel! And the charity thing behind it all just adds the flavor! We will be happy to come back.

    Vasily&Aglaya2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was great. SO happy to have found such a host in the same neighborhood of the venue the band was performing. Lisel was a great and welcoming host.

    Olivia2013-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, metro station Barcley Center 5 min walk, connects you where ever you wanna go in Manhattan or elsewhere very convenient. Plenty of awesome small restaurants and bars right around the corner. Free car street parking, took a little time to find a spot but that’s what to expect in Brooklyn. Take care when parking your car at the street that you respect the sign indicating what day in the week and at what time is not allowed to park the car. Had a great short stay - thank you very much!!

  • Lisel's place was very warm and welcoming. It was unique and one can see Lisel is a very thoughtful person passionate about various causes. We got in late on the first day, since our drive from Boston took longer than expected, but entering the house was easy. I wasn't around much, since I had meetings all day in Manhattan and pretty much just came back just to crash. Even though it's Brooklyn, don't let the location throw you off. It's barely a short 10-15 minute train ride to Midtown Manhattan. And a short walk to Barclays Atlantic Centre - major subway with connections to other parts of NYC.

    Akshobh2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a place to stay that is the perfect location in Brooklyn, close to trains, And plenty of restaurants this is the place to stay. I would describe this places as more of a guest house with an outstanding host Who is always available.

    Michael2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience at Lisel's home. The location was perfect; the accommodations great; but, above all, the people were fantastic! Staying there is more than a roof over your head. It is an experience. Passionate people who support worthwhile causes. We will return! Don and Mark

    Beth2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel's home was in the perfect location for me. Since I was gone all of the day, I was not able to use all the amentities she provided. The room had lots of space and privacy. I will definately consider staying at Lisel's in the future.

    Nancy2013-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The CBG guest house is a great place to stay. Lisel and Tasha were warm and welcoming — my husband and I felt right at home, though we didn't get much of a chance to hang out in the shared kitchen and lovely backyard. Coordinating check-in was easy, and check-out was a breeze, though we weren't able to see Lisel when we left, as we were rushing to get a train. The room is private and quiet (no street noise), and stuffed with interesting artifacts. It seems as though someone lives here when it's not being rented? We found it charming. The adjacent shared bathroom was clean with good hot water and we rarely had to wait, despite there being other guests in the house. The location was great — just steps from great coffee and food and near just about every transport option you could need to get around Brooklyn and beyond. Plus, it was a joy to jog in the park in the morning. Thanks for a great stay!

    Frances2014-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • A couple of nights at this place would suit any kind-spirited traveller! I wouldn't recommend a longterm stay. My partner and I are thankful for this place, as we were desperate to find an apartment as we started our jobs in NYC. There wasn't any space for our personal belongings or our groceries. There is some fridge space, but even with our names on our stuff, our groceries would go missing from time-to-time. I found a smelly dead mouse on one occasion, and small roaches on a few others. The folks who live/work at the house are all really lovely and happy to help with any problems. If you aren't precious about your privacy, def give this place a go.

    Taylor2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel and her friend are so nice. I'm sorry that I lost the key and had to wake them up in the midnight. It's a warm place. The only problem may be that the bathroom is too small.

    Jinwen2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful historic house in a great neighborhood, My room was very comfortable and quiet. Loved the coffee in the a.m.! All in all, a perfect place to stay. Many thanks, Lisel.

  • Loved the boat. Neighbours were lovely. Only met Angus on arrival and called once before I left. It takes about an hour to leave the boat and get to times square. So if you are out for the day don't plan in returning to the biat it's too far. Very peaceful . Loved loved loved it

    Gina-Maria2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Angus was a terrific host (unfortunately, Lisa was out of town). He made us feel incredibly welcome on their amazing houseboat. Their description of the boat is probably moderate and the area that they are moored is wonderful. I would highly recommend staying with Angus and Lisa and certainly will be for any of my own future trips to NYC.

    Austin2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Angus and Lisa were great! Angus constantly offered rides to where ever we were going to make it easier on us. We were at the houseboat only to sleep, but the gentle rocking lulled us off quickly. A great memory!

  • Great stay and many thanks to Lisa and Angus. Lisa gave us several lifts to the subway and couldn't have been more helpful. It's an interesting little community. We took a walk to Brighton Beach and Coney Island. Make sure to check out the Turkish tea-rooms and Cherry Hill Russian market. Hope to be back soon.

  • In August I attended a week long course for teachers in Manhattan and rented the house barge because it was affordable. My fianace' came along for the trip too. It was a bit of a commute to Columbia from the boat but so worth the subway ride. The barge was better than expected. It was cozy, had a stove for cooking quick meals and was close to the bus, subway, grocery store and subway.Lisa and Angus were more than hospitable! They offered us rides to the subway, gave us directions for places in the area and Lisa even joined us for a bike ride on a biking path in Brooklyn. They are truly good people! The neighborhood was quiet and relaxing and the neighbors were friendly and helpful. Great free parking too! We enjoyed our stay very much .

    Renee2013-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, good stay. New experience since never stayed on a boat before. The rides to the subway station were appreciated since it's a bit far from the nearest station. I had my car so it was nice having a parking spot as well.

  • Diane is SOOOOO ADORABLE, SOOOO LOVELY, SOOOO HELPFULL. I enjoyed a lot my stay there, you feel as if you are at your home with your family! Had wonderful conversations with her! Honestly me and my friend were waking up every morning searching for Diane to take our coffee with her :) and by the way, she serves the tastiest coffee EVER!!! The house is outstanding! The restaurant where you get a free breakfast from the host was SOOO delicious! I could have found a free spot parking 3 min walk from the house which was amazing too!

  • Diane is such a nice host I have ever met. She is so helpful for everything I need. Her house is very nice, comfortable and clean. I enjoyed to cook in her kitchen. Diane tried to provide the things which were more than I expected. It's was so lucky for us to stay with her. She took us to China town to eat together, she even helped me find a massage person to do treatment for my twisted back. I appreciate so much for that. By the way, the location of Diane's house is very convenient, the restaurants, shops, gym and subway station are nearby. I highly recommend to stay in Diane's house.

The moment you step-in at her place, Diane makes sure that you are comfortable as her valuable guest, by looking into all aspects of guest requirements and expectations. She is also very generous in providing self-service soft drinks, tea, coffee, fruits, milk, cereals, etc., at all times in her stylish kitchen and bagels, cheese, marmalade and fruits jams for breakfast. An attractive bonus is the welcome breakfast on the first morning when she would treat you with her special omelet, generally commented upon as the "best omelet in the world"!

The wide avenues lined with tall oaks, maples and magnolias create a shady free flowing and safe suburban community. Surrounded by access to public transportation via land and water. The Long Island Railroad/LIRR goes west to the big apple/NYC and East to the wineries, beaches and farms. NYS Jones beach state park and music theatre are just 10-15 minutes down the parkway across the bay. Fishing, golfing, with water taxi, kayaking and entertainment options are abundant in every direction.

  • Jhoan's place is in a great location. Very close to the subway and very close to manhattan. Everything is close by. Jhoan graciously let me check in early. Two of his anties also live here and both very generous, helpful and kind. I'll definitely recommend a stay here.

  • I used this cozy B&B as a place to rest up after an evening flight into Newark International Airport before heading to the New York area the next day. This was just a short drive from the airport, and Art was a gracious host.

  • We had an initial issue around our booking - but Art quickly covered us with an upgrade to the Suite. A fantastic and much appreciated offer. Suite was excellent, quite roomy, clean and comfy. Interaction with hosts and fellow guests at breakfast was really enjoyable. Would absolutely recommend for those looking for quiet and convenient place to stay within easy range of NYC.
