Helen & Rob Welcome you to their stunning apartment on the lower floor of a traditional Queenslander in the beautiful suburb of Hermit Park, just 10 minutes, by car, to City, Beach, Restaurants & Magnetic Island ferry. Includes Pool, Parking & BBQ. 2 dbl bedrooms & 1 sgl in lounge. Children under 5 free.
Close to the city and all activities, the unit is located on the lower floor of a traditional Queenslander. The unit is newly built in September 2015 with 2 bedrooms, a large lounge, large fully equipped kitchen, study, bathroom and separate toilet. Access to the garden and pool areas is directly via french doors at the back of the unit. Bi-Fold windows also open up to the garden from the fully equipped kitchen. There is a shared laundry available for use. Parking is off-street and can fit a caravan or camper if you want a break from the road. Smart TV and free WIFI.
Hermit Park is an older suburb of Townsville with many traditional houses and larger yards. The city, beach and ferry terminals are within 10 minutes drive. There is a Woolworths Supermarket/shopping complex 400 metres away with newsagent, chemist, bottleshop, bakery hairdresser and Caltex.
  • Fabulous tropical garden setting, peaceful and relaxing. Comfortable, light and airy, spacious and well-equipped. Close to town, supermarket and public transport. You could easily spend a week here - a true home from home. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

  • Quiet and homey space, feels very private despite being the bottom apartment of a 2 story home. The pool felt like a secret rainforest spring and was the perfect temperature to just jump on in. They also had a Wii console, but we didn't get the chance to play any of the games as we spent our days out adventuring. Would definitely come back here :)

    It's a cosy miners cottage. If you're looking for a place to sleep after a big day of touring maggie island or cooking at the strand then this is the place.
    Its nice and close to town including Palmer street.

    Our Granny Flat is an immaculate little oasis, set high up in the palm trees overlooking our swimming pool. Lorikeets whizz by, butterflies cruise by and you'll hear the occasional train toot. We're located in a lovely suburb less than 10 min drive into the city, extremely popular Strand area and great restaurants. The entire Granny Flat is yours with private access, kitchen and living area, separate bedroom with queen sized bed and ensuite with rain shower.
    The granny flat is located at the rear of our property, connected by a gated walkway to our Queenslander home. It is a high set building (not too many stairs) with our private studio spaces underneath. You are very welcome to relax in the swimming pool... we'll supply the beach towels.
    Our suburb is full of mango trees and laneways that are lovely to stroll along. We're located within 10 mins drive from the City and Strand and approx. 10-15mins to the Uni, Hospital and Army Base. We have a seldom used lane at the back of our property. Our neighbourhood is quiet with the exception of the odd train toot - adds to the ambience.

Ollie the beagle is a wonderfully enthusiastic greeter, our hosts were welcoming and eager to give us tips for finding transport and fabulous hikes in the area, especially on wondrous Magnetic island, the kitchen was fully equipped for us vegan cooks, and the whole place was spacious and beautiful.

The kitchen had everything to cook a 5 star gourmet meal. The rest of the area was well thought out, spotless and stylish. Two of the bedrooms have access to the front balcony. The open plan living space features a separate lounge and dining area. There is a well-equipped kitchen that flows through to an outdoor alfresco area. A second area features a small lounge space complete with extra television and an office area at the other end.
    Privately positioned on a fully fenced block with a large sliding front gate. Off street parking is available for 3 cars. Internal laundry. Air-conditioned throughout.
    Centrally located. From the property you can drive to three major sopping centres (Kmart, Stockland and Vincent Village) in five minutes. Willows Shopping Centre is eight minutes away by car. James Cook University and Townsville General Hospital are also within a ten minute drive.
  • This is a well set-up house hosting multiple guests. It's a big house so there's plenty of space and the hosts leave you to do your own thing. There's a nice kitchen with plenty of storage which is really well organised so everyone knows where to put their things. Really enjoyed my stay!

  • Maureen’s place is huge / great for long stays also - common spaces are clean, practical and cosy (kitchen with cooking ustensiles and basics, living room with TV and Netflix, terrace..) My room was upstairs and the bed was so soft. Could have spend my day in it. It is close to the city but better have a car. Parking spot on site. Fans and AC everywhere and silent enough to leave it at night. Very practical for me to visit Magnetic island. Would totally recommend the place. Maureen is a very thoughtful host and shows you all the key thinks of her place.

    Terrace 1 is a modern, spacious ground floor 1 bedroom apartment of our lovely Queenslander type home. (We also list it as Terrace 2 for those who require 2 bedrooms). Terrace is very central to lots of amenities: 10 minutes to the Strand, 10 minutes to the airport, a couple of minutes (or 10 minutes walk) to the nearest supermarket, or to Castletown Shopping Centre. 15 minutes from the Townsville hospital. We have off street parking, and a bus stop a few steps away just around the corner.
    The bedroom has a very comfortable double bed with quality bed linen and pillows. the kitchen is fully equipped including oven and fridge freezer. There is also a washing machine and a dryer. Myself and my partner live upstairs, and there is a spiral staircase connecting the two levels. We are very quiet people but you may hear the odd noise from above. Although the living area is not air-conditioned, the bedroom has a great split system air-conditioners. We provide basic breakfast supplies: bread or muffins, milk, and cereal, and we usually have some fresh fruit in a bowl for you. There is also tea, coffee, sugar and some pantry staples such as oil, salt etc. Please note that there is no TV in the apartment. We do provide free wifi, and there is a lovely nook with bookcases full of books and games. We have a little dog who is very timid but very friendly, and who you may meet if you access the outdoor dining space. Hyde Park is a nice established suburb of Townsville, and the apartment is on a fairly quiet street, but we have a main road close by so we are very central to everything. In addition to what I have already mentioned, there is a newsagents a minutes walk away, an RSL within a short walking distance, a fantastic Indian takeaway a minutes walk away, KFC a couple of minutes walk away, other takeaway restaurants within walking or short drive away. The city is less than 10 minutes drive away. We also have beautiful Magnetic Island on our doorstep. The ferry is about 10/15 minutes drive away, and the ferry ride takes 20 minutes to reach the Island.
    Hyde Park is one of the older established leafy suburbs of Townsville. There are lots of lovely old Queenslander homes. As mentioned, it is very easy to get to anywhere you need from here.

  • Alison’s place was literally the size of a house. It was spacious, clean and stylish. Even though there is a stairway between upstairs and downstairs I never felt like this was a problem. I didn’t hear any noise from upstairs at all other than an odd footstep. Alison was a great host and provided lots of privacy. I recommend this stay to anyone travelling in the area or needing a place when arriving in Townsville.

Banks, pubs and supermarket are close, and only a further block away. Flinders Street is a 5 minute stroll away, with cafes and shops There is good cofffee in Townsville. We'll let you know where. And lots of alfresco bars. You are staying in the city precinct of North Queensland's largest town, so there can be traffic noise at night and early in the morning. The room is quiet if you close the windows and optionally have the ceiling fan on low, you are likely to have an undisturbed night.

    Enjoy our beautiful renovated Queenslander, with tall ceilings, polished timber floors and a pretty garden. The guest bedroom has a double bed with a fan and aircon. Free wifi is available to guests. I will always have tea/coffee available and milk in the fridge for your convenience. The living room and kitchen is open plan. You can help yourself to any utensils in the kitchen to cook with or relax and watch TV in the living room.
    We own two rescue greyhounds, Bob and Inga so guests must love and respect animals if they want to stay. They are both placid and will not bother any guest staying with us. I am studying Veterinary Science full time and therefore in and out but I will gladly assist you anyway I can.
    Garbutt is an up and coming suburb with lots of beautiful old houses being renovated its close to the coastline and surrounded by some cool places, such as castle hill, Rowes bay and Pallarenda beach with its own conservation park at the cape.
  • We loved our stay at Anna And Darren’s beautiful home. The location is fantastic and you can literally walk to the airport but never hear a single plane! The house itself is charming with lots of original features and beautiful hardwood floors. The bed is super comfy and the room had plenty of space and storage. Anna was a lovely host and her doggies were gentle, sweet and have a lovely nature. Highly recommend!

    A generous 2 bedroom apartment, with a relaxed modern feel and plenty of space to relax on the huge shaded deck or chill in the ducted air-conditioning. Backing onto the the beautiful Botanical Anderson Gardens, which is great for strolling through and getting little ones to spend up some energy with lots of shady paths and ducks to feed by the pond. The Apartment and surrounding property are all on one level with a single 9cm step into the living area from the garage. There are no level changes out onto the deck or into the bathroom or shower area. The bathroom is a wet room style with an oversized bath for extreme relaxation. The shower area has a hand held shower head and a large luxurious rain shower head with a selector valve to choose between the two. A chair for showering can be provided by request. We have an absolute no smoking policy. There are no designated smoking areas anywhere on the property.
    Stroll in the botanical gardens, with Pimlico also offering easy access to the Mater Hospital, plus cafes and supermarkets. Townsville Stadium is a 4-minute drive away. Browse the boutiques at Castletown Shopping Centre, which is a similar distance.

    this is a eco friendly house the walls roof windows have been insulated against heat there are ceiling fans in all bedrooms loungeroom and dinning room.the house has one extremely large air conditioner in the loungeroom that is on tariff and can be turned on at 5pm and turns off at 10pm it cools all the rooms.there is a large shower head over a bath tub in the bathroom.this is an old queenslander two story house air bnb is upstairs u rent the upstairs area i live down stairs in a unit :)
    this old queenslander house has been decorated by an interior designer in cool colours such as grey and black to be something different from normal houses..it has also been designed as an eco friendly house and garden with the weather of the tropics in mind it has an amazing outdoor eating area great garden with large shady palm trees and small cooling of pool for when it gets hot there is also a baby webber bbq in the back yard..at the front door is a small balcony with two stools where u can sit and be shaded by the palm trees and soak up the tropical evening fresh air and cool breeze..the house is designed to catch the fresh tropical evening breeze so open the windows and let it flow through the house i hope u enjoy your stay and love the tropics as much as i do as the temperature in townsville is never below 25 degrees even in winter.....HAVE A GREAT DAY..DRIVE SAFETY....
    house is 2 mins from uni..army barracks and hospital and the murray sport facility it is just a few streets from the main highway ( Bruce highway) that goes to cairns...there is two supermarkets and food court kmart and many speciality shops and 2 bottle shops just two min before the house. at fairfield shopping center on the right of the highway..the house is ten min from the city center and magnetic island terminal the sports stadium is 3 min from the house and the cowboys stadium is ten mins from the house

    Pia's Place is located in a closed street making it a quiet location. This three bed home has everything you need. This home is situated 2km (20 min walk) to Townsville city, main shopping malls, ferry to Magnetic Island, Townsville Strand and public swimming pool. The house is a short walk to the V8 track, parks, boat ramp. Pias is located in a quiet close. It has a large kitchen and an outside area for you to BBQ and enjoy Townsville weather.
    The three bed home is big enough for family or group travelling together. Three seperate rooms are not joining and the bathroom has two way access off the main bedroom. There is a small fully fenced yard and a private court yard.
    The house is the end of a quiet street that caters only to local traffic, which means a game of street cricket may occur with local kids. The house backs onto mangrove lands which are very important breeding ground for fish. But this can also mean small sandflies at dusk and dawn.
  • The host was very responsive and accommodating. Nothing seemed to be a problem and Pia was very understanding of my situation. The duplex was in a very quiet and handy location and had everything that was needed.

    Hermit Park is an eclectic quirky suburb, with some wonderful old Queenslanders, some renovated and some not. It is close to the city and the Strand and has good public transport to the City, the Strand, JCU and The Townsville Hospital. It is within walking distance to the V8 Super Cars track and a 5 minute ride to the Civic Theatre. There is a supermarket, bottle shop, newsagent and local restaurants within walking distance from our place.
  • What a little dream of place. The interior of the house and room is so stunning. It had everything I needed, beautiful room, fully equipped kitchen and large office desk to do some work. The place had a pool which was nice to take a break in. The hospitality from Amelia and Andrew was amazing they always went beyond for anything you needed. Also both beautiful individuals caring and solid conversation. I was abit sad to leave sad to leave this beautiful place.

    Townsville is a tropical city with more sunny days than any other town on the Queensland coast. Our apartment is in a very secure location next to a park which is great place to walk and look at the plants and birds. The deck has a view of the park and is just the place to relax and soak up the atmosphere. You don't have to eat out every night, the Kitchen has all you need to make a great meal. The apartment is in a block of only 3 old style cottages almost like three small houses but joined together. Hence there is a level of privacy beyond what one would normally expect. The apartment has two bedrooms both with queen size beds. They are separated by a bathroom with shower toilet etc. Hence the the unit is suitable and very comfortable for up to four people. While we understand how people feel about their pets and we personally like pets we do not allow pets at all on the premises. Smoking is not tolerated in the buildings but guests are free to stand out in the garden to enjoy their cigarette and the outdoors. Should you require additional space check out GARDEN VIEW which is also at this location. Note: Each unit is self contained and you rent the entire unit and it is not shared with others.
  • It was great staying at Terry’s place, very clean and very homey - a real home away from home for the weekend. The beds are comfy, the bathroom is nice and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and made cooking a family meal easy. It’s walking distance to Rising Sun (which also has Coles) and the tavern has a kids room. Castletown Shopping centre is 5 minutes down the road and it’s only 10 minutes into the city. We definitely recommend Terry’s place!

Two bedrooms, one terasse with a lot of shadow and a meadow outside, where the kids can play. 5 minutes by walk is a wonderful park, where we had a picnic and 15 minutes by car away is the water playground. Our kids love it. And Alligator creek is perfect to spend a day there. There are a lot of other things you can explore in and around Townsville. And Terry and his wife are very kind and helpful. We can highly recommend this accomodation.

  • Hideaway was the perfect location for us to base ourselves for the weekend. Enough space for myself and 2 kids without getting in each others space, but open enough that I always knew where they were and that they were safe. The back yard and deck was a wonderful spot to spend a warm afternoon, and the geckos and frogs enjoying the atmosphere too were a hit! Hideaway was perfectly set up with everything we could want and more! The kids loved drawing on the driveway with the chalk they found in the house, and I enjoyed the chocolates in the fridge once they were asleep! The house was spotless, and easy to keep tidy thanks to the way it was set up. Instructions to get to the house were concise, and easy to follow even with our late night arrival. Thank you Terry and Kaye, we will be back!

  • This is a unique oasis of greenery in a usually dry landscape. We loved being able to take early morning walks in the botanical gardens just next door and there's a shopping centre with good take-away coffee etc. just a quick drive down the road. The lounge furniture could have been straight out of a private club, and the shaded outdoor table and chairs overlooking the tropical garden make a barbecue very inviting.
