Places to stay in Eastport
The Salt Box was floated from nearby Flat Island in the early 1950s during Newfoundland's resettlement period. It found its new home on Erics Road, nestled in the community of Eastport, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland. Just mins from beautiful sandy beaches, fabulous coastal hiking, Terra Nova National Park and the historic community of Salvage. Recently fully renovated, rustic and whimsically decorated, perfectly suited for 2 guests. Double decks offering outstanding ocean views.
Loft bedroom with queen bed and sitting area with views of ocean. Lovely linens, Newfoundland art-work throughout, small reading library, games, wifi and air conditioning. BBQ, fire-pit and picnic table in the yard. Perfect adult retreat.
The Eastport Peninsula, the Road to the Beaches, is unique in that it is known as the festival capital of Newfoundland and Labrador. The area offers beautiful beaches, excellent "coastal" hiking known as the "Damnables Trail System", and is located on the eastern edge of Terra Nova National Park. The Salt Box is in a perfect location to enjoy all that the Peninsula has to offer.
  • Beautiful place. Historic saltbox style house with lots of character, nice little touches, and modern conveniences. It is also very cozy, just right for two people. Only a few minutes' drive from Salvage and Terra Nova National Park. The deck is also a lovely spot to look over the water while enjoying a morning coffee. Overall a great place to stay for a wonderful experience in the beautiful surroundings of the Eastport peninsula.

  • The photos of this space don’t do it justice - it is really cozy and decorated in such a charming whimsical maritime style. The double patio means supper on the lower level and our breakfast, coffee and happy hours on the sunny upper deck with ocean view. Everything was perfectly clean. We really enjoyed exploring the trails at Salvage and wandering the beach at Sandy Cove

  • The cutest place ever! Love the decor and I’m fussy lol it was a place I wanted to duplicate and have back home, truly beautiful and chic...my parents grew up here and it was lovely to have family over on the deck for dinners - truly an epic place!

    Cassie2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing home in a wonderful location! The Saltbox is full of beautiful decor right down to the smallest touches. Highly recommended to future travellers!

  • We were the very first guests in this little cute house with history which is designed with so much love. We really enjoyed the stay in the house and in the area. Thanks to the hiking tips of our hosts, we had spectacular views, sunshine and saw one of the biggest icebergs of our NF journey. What a pitty that we had to leave after only two nights.

Our cabin is a Seasonal Delight for up to 6 guests (3 double beds). It is located adjacent to the ocean near Eastport beach. Relax on the deck over looking the ocean and enjoy beautiful sunsets as the waves lap on the shore. In the words of a lady who visited “You have a gem here. The view is amazing-and such a cozy outdoor space to enjoy it. R&R just fell upon us.”
Our rustic cabin has outside furniture for lounging on the deck and gazebo overlooking the ocean. It’s only a short stroll by road to sandy Eastport Beach. BBQ available. Great private areas for rest and relaxation. There are plenty of walking trails ( search Damnable Trails) in the area and a short drive to Sandy Cove beach and Crooked Tree Park ( freshwater swimming).
This is known as The Beaches area. Eastport Beach and Northside Beach (with connecting boardwalk) are in full view and a short stroll. Sandy Cove Beach as well as freshwater at Crooked Tree Park are a 5 minute drive. The historic fishing village of Salvage and it’s many walking trails are 7 kilometres further along on route 310. Terra Nova National Park and it’s many amenities is only 20 minutes away and the world class golf course is a 40 minute drive. The Beaches Heritage Center is a 1 kilometre stroll and offers a local art exhibit and often hosts a variety of entertainment. Please refer to their website www.beachesheritagecenter.ca. There are two local grocery stores, drug store ( with liquor sales), several restaurants and two gas stations within a short drive. The St Brendan’s ferry leaves from Burnside (5 kilometre) for daily excursions.
  • Keith and Gail were amazing hosts. Made us feel very at home and provided us with everything we needed. Not to mention the beautiful cabin and amazing view! Will definitely be back :)

    Hilary2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Keith and Gail are fantastic hosts with their own cabin right next door. The cabin is nicely finished but still has some of it's original rustic charm. The kitchen is well stocked and there's lots of outdoor space as well. Access to a rocky beach right out front and the municipal sand beach just a short walk away was perfect. This is the perfect place to just kick back and relax.

    Adam2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay! The cabin was spotless and they have everything you could need! We will definitely be returning in the future!

  • Excellent place to stay! We had a great family weekend getaway. Would recommend 100%

  • Keith and Gale are wonderful hosts. Their cottage is very clean and has everything you could ever need to enjoy your stay from cookware to binoculars, lots of towels and blankets and plenty of room for eight people. The gazebo out back was great for unwinding in the evenings and the fire pit at the side of the cottage was fantastic. Lots of room for kids to play outside and only a five minute walk to the beach. Overall a wonderful experience.

    Melissa2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome views, awesome amenities, awesome host! Loved the outdoor space, we were lucky to have great weather and spent much of our trip on the deck....also had a star filled sky one night!! We had children from ages 1-6 and the area was great for all. There's a beach within walking distance as well as a rocky area in front of the cabin where the kids enjoyed throwing rocks. Thanks so much Gail and Keith, we shall see you next year!

Also the beach is right around the corner and so you can fall asleep hearing the waves of the ocean. Very quiet with easy parking right in front of the house. Allison was quick to reply to my messages! We'd definitely stay there again and can wholeheartedly recommend this host!

  • A real gem on the farm. Everything you need for a stay, with many additional touches including delicious homemade muffins and fresh fruit! The host made herself always available yet kept our privacy. We enjoyed a walk to the nearby beach and were greeted by curious sheep (behind a fence) in the morning. We loved it and recommend to anyone!

The house is a traditional Saltbox house with lots of character. Located on the beautiful Eastport Peninsula, also known as The Road to the Beaches. It is in a quiet location in the town of Sandy Cove. It is right next to Sandy Cove Beach and Crooked Tree Park. Crooked Tree Park is a fresh water swimming area with a playground for children. It's only a 5 minute drive to Eastport Beach and a 30 minute drive to Splash-N-Putt Park and Terra Nova National Park. Hiking trails nearby.
This is a renovated old house. It is over 100 years old, but was completely updated about 7 years ago. It has unique low ceilings (6 foot doorways and 6’4 ceilings in most areas) and it has all pine walls. All the bedroom doors are original to the house as well as the stairs, railings, and most of the facings, giving it a unique antique feel. It has a small deck built on the side with a view over the property and the entrance to the beach and pond. Outside there is a fire pit to use on those lovely summer nights. It has a flat top stove, fridge, a dishwasher, plus a full size washer and dryer. WiFi is available as well as basic cable during your stay.
The surrounding area is ideal for vacationers. Very close to a beach and fresh water swimming. It is in a quiet town with a permanent population of around 200. There are walking trails near by. Just a few minutes away is the town of Eastport and here there is another beach plus grocery stores and a gas station. There are also a few nice restaurants in the area.
  • This house is a perfect spot for anyone wanting to spend a few days (or weeks) close to the beautiful beach of Sandy Cove. The location of this property is absolutely amazing and we were very comfortable there during our stay. Susan made sure there was lots of clean towels ready for us and even left a lovely homemade treat for us to enjoy. The house is well kept and very clean and being able to sit outside and hear the ocean in the morning while drinking coffee or watch the stars at night while roasting marshmallows is wonderful! This was our second year back to this home and we hope to be back for our 3rd annual visit next year!

    Leanne2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place!!! A perfect location within a 3 minute walk of Sandy Cove Beach! Such a beautiful feel of being in a quaint 100 year old house 💗 wonderful touches throughout the house with homemade bread, beautiful NL knit quilts and sweet seashells my children loved on their pillows. The stairs as stated in the listing are very steep but if careful we had no issues. Wonderful stay with a sky full of millions of stars at night and the sound of the ocean. Thanks so much Susan! We hope to return again next summer. Cheers, Anne, Steve, Sadie and Hughie

    Phil2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's house is lovely and lots of room. Great sofas in the living room...I should have sat in the Lazy Boy. It's got everything you need including a barbeque which is always a nice to have. Susan is very friendly and it was nice staying at Sandy Cove.

Susan was amazing and very helpful.the house was adorable and equipped with everything needed for our vacation. Angela2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. What a great find. The Sweet Spot is nestled on a hill a few minutes away from 2 beaches. One is salt water and chilly but beautiful to walk on. The other is a fresh water pond and very swimmable. It also has a play structure which is great for kids. We highly recommend this place. Thanks Susan!

  • Our stay here at Roger’s house was simply amazing! Roger went above and beyond, was super helpful and accommodating and the house exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room for 4 couples and 4 children - there was even a room to spare! Lots of space in the house and outside the house - with a wonderful gazebo and huge garden for games and what not. The Eastport area is beautiful and has lots to offer. Our family had a wonderful time all together at the property and we are already looking forward to our next visit! We would definitely recommend this property and Roger as a host! Cheers, Karyn

Sitting on an acre of land on a sheltered bay. Watch the sunrise in the morning. If you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of sea otters, mink, eagles! Minutes away from Terra Nova National Park. Ideal for kayakers (leave right from my property), hikers, snowshoers.
My house is open concept, with lots of windows, so it is very bright. It opens on to a two tier patio with a beautiful view of the bay (ocean).
I live in a quiet neighbourhood, where it still isn't necessary to lock your doors at night!

Absolutely recommend for anyone interested in this area.

The White Sails Inn (5 bedroom beach house) has been welcoming guests for for over 60 years. Originally built in 1949 as a summer home for the Gerald S Doyle family, it has transitioned from a B and B to a beach house vacation rental. Nestled next to beautiful Eastport beach and coastal hiking trails, it is perfect for gatherings of family and friends or simply to enjoy on your own. Original structure, beautiful windows, a library, interesting art work and a fireplace adds to its charm.
In addition to our beautiful beaches and hiking trails, Eastport is known for its numerous festivals and concerts (The Beaches Heritage Center) and our proximity to three of the islands golf courses(40-60min drive). The Eastport Peninsula, rich in Nfld history, culture and scenic beauty is a little hidden gem in our province . If falling asleep to the sound of waves and waking to the scent of fresh salt air appeals to you... this could be your spot!

Completely renovated guest house situated on our beautiful property right on the shores of scenic Alexander Bay. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets with a glass of wine and good company. Peaceful, quiet and private property. Minutes to Terra Nova National Park, Splash and Putt, and Eastport/Sandy Cove beaches. "Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, but today is a gift, that is why we call it the present." Stay and be present at the Sailors Rest!
Our place is a great mix of old and new. The flooring upstairs and the beautiful beams came from a fish plant in Newtown, NL. We've just finished completely renovating the Sailors Rest and have tried to capture a comfortable 'old fashioned' feel with modern touches. Glovertown itself is situated in a great location and is within minutes of Terra Nova National Park, Splash and Putt water park, and the Eastport peninsula where you get to experience beautiful beaches and the historic community of Salvage.
Glovertown is a wonderful community to live in. We love the safety and peacefulness it offers. There's fsntastic boating in the area and we are close to some great hiking trails in Terra Nova National Park and the Eastport Peninsula. Be sure to take advantage of the activities Terra Nova National Park has to offer, especially the evening programs at the Outdoor Theatre.
  • By far my best AirBnb experience. Colleen and Scott are the ultimate hosts. They were extremely friendly and accommodating to all our needs. Accommodations were super clean, cozy and comfortable. Everything you could possibly need is at your fingertips. Highly recommend the Sailors Rest to anyone in the area looking for a true home away experience

  • Colleen is so welcoming and makes everything easy and cosy for you. This was a perfect stay by the Alexander Bay, with ospreys and Caspian terns fishing in front of the house :-) A great surprise, and actually my BEST AirBnB experience so far! Greetings from La Rochelle, France, on the other side...

  • The house was spotless, spacious, and enjoyable to stay at. Colleen and Scott made sure even the slightest issue or concern was sorted out to provide the best experience possible. If you’re on the fence about staying here just do it. Also, the cats on the property are adorable and open to a lot of petting.

  • Sharon’s cottage in Happy Adventure was exceptionally clean and had all the amenities we needed to cook our meals. The bed in the cozy loft upstairs was really comfortable. We really enjoyed the views of the bay from the living room, deck and dock. Sharon was quick to communicate and met us to find the cottage and to show us around. I’d highly recommend this cottage to anyone. We also enjoyed the close proximity to many hiking trails.

  • Sharon was very prompt in getting back to us and even met us on the road to ensure we found the cabin. We loved the bedroom loft of the cabin and especially enjoyed sitting out on the deck overlooking the private wharf.

  • The pictures don't do it justice. The patio on the front of the cabin overlook ing the water was amazing site to see everyday. You could see it from the couch and living room and kitchen area and upstairs bedroom. There is satellite tv and cell service but u wont want to look at your phone much anyway , only to take pictures of this little piece of heaven. There is a private dock that we also sat down on and would walk down on just to sit and take in the view. The patio has chairs and a table and is great to eat a meal out there and we did a lot of tanning while we stayed there. We also made use of the bbq and the fully eqipped kitchen. There is a stand up shower with the best towels i ever used!! Also a super comfy wicker chair in the living room , a couch and rocker and a high table and chairs. Im not sure what else i may have missed but its one of our fav vacations. Just mins from sandy cove beach as well and to all local attractions. We will be back again.

Oceanview Hilltop rentals is a private house, overlooking the small town of Happy Adventure, you can smell the salt water. On the Eastport Peninsula there are seven small communities, Eastport, Sandringham, Sandy Cove, Salvage, Burnside, St. Chads and Happy Adventure. Each one is different in what it has to offer. We are surrounded on the salt water shoreline, lots of fishing going on. There are many nature trails around in the areas.,check out the Salvage trails going out around the shoreline . We have three very beautiful sandy beaches, as shown in the pics. We have a local Beaches Arts and Heritage Centre, which is a showcase for the Art Gallery, Concert and Theatre happenings. For a small place, we are certainly jam packed with things to do and places to explore. Terra Nova park is just 20 minutes drive from here.
Located in a quiet setting but the community has lots . Two grocery stores, liquor and drugstore for your needs.

  • A beautifully appointed and artistically decorated contemporary home set high on a hill overlooking the cove. The host, Sheila, has carefully considered the needs of her guests, offering numerous amenities, including those for infants and young children, as well as pets. She has also provided much helpful information on the area, and activities, events and restaurants that help make a stay the best it can be. The kitchen is very well-equipped, with most everything you would need to prepare meals to be enjoyed at the handy kitchen table, or very generous table in the dining area. The deck is a relaxing place to barbecue, eat a meal, enjoy a beverage or just relax and take in the view.

Our rustic summer home is walking distance to two beaches and a lake. It is completely surrounded by trees - perfect for families who want their own space and lots of room for children to run. You’ll love our place because of the privacy, the cosy atmosphere, the wild flowers and the nearby beaches. Enjoy watching the capelin roll, cod jigging or walking the beautiful trails along the ocean. Dogs are allowed but only if they are super cute! :) A pet fee of $20 per booking will apply.
This house is our summer home and we stay here every July while visiting family in the province. It's not perfect - we work on it a bit every summer - but it is an absolute gem of a hideaway for people looking for relaxation. The kids light fires in the fire pit, play in the treehouse and run around the garden. The adults cook meals in the open concept kitchen or sip wine on the patio. All of it in complete privacy. Dogs are allowed at a charge of $20 per booking. Additional discounts for bookings of a month or more. E-mail me with questions.
Sandy Cove on the Eastport Peninsula is a summer getaway town for folks all over Canada. The annual rolling of the capelin each summer is a big hit. There are miles and miles of gorgeous hiking trails along the ocean. And there are many tour operators offering cod jigging, whale watching and scenic boating tours.
  • Lisa’s home in Sandy Cove is fantastic! Everything you could possibly need is right at your fingertips. The location is private & beautiful. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away & is one of the best Newfoundland has to offer in my opinion. Many wonderful childhood memories were made at Sandy Cove Beach & it’s always a joy to return. Lisa certainly has a gem of a spot there & we are so grateful to have experienced it. Highly recommend it to anyone! Thanks again Lisa :)

  • Everything is clean and ready for your stay. The deck, 1/2 covered, is an excellent place to lounge rain or shine. We had some fun on the pool table when spending time indoors. There really is no bad bed, so splitting accommodations among friends is easy. Everyone thanked me for finding this place for our trip.

Our cozy 2 bedroom cottage is located on the main road in the sleepy town of Burnside, previously named Squid Tickle. We have stunning views of the sea and “Bloody Bay”. For the “musical at heart”...we offer a well-tuned piano, and a ukulele; an accordion can be provided on request. We sleep 4 comfortably but the sofa will accommodate 2 more in a pinch. We also provide 2 adult bikes & a tandem bicycle on request. Homemade marmalade and fresh local eggs will get your day off to a great start.
Squid Tickle Landing is located on the Eastport Peninsula in the community of Burnside. We are a 3 hour drive west of St John’s, and a 60 minute drive east of Gander. Our cottage is on the doorstep of a national park - 15 mins from Terra Nova National Park, with it’s outstanding network of coastal hiking trails. In Eastport, just 8 minutes drive, you will get to easily accessible white sandy beaches and the Beaches Heritage Centre with its full slate of events each summer. Sandy Cove, just 12 km from our cottage, has a popular and gorgeous beach, is also the start (or end) of the 14 km Salvage Coastal Trail. This newly completed hiking trail is both rugged and stunning. Be prepared for breath-taking scenery and the possibility of spotting whales and dolphins on your 6 hour hike. The oldest community on the peninsula, only 15 km from Burnside is the picturesque community of Salvage. This tiny outport has captivated many artist’s, with its beautiful views all around the cove and the classic Newfoundland fishing stages dotting the shore. There is a local Fishermen’s Museum, a historic community cemetery, a newly renovated pub with a great ocean-side deck and a network of short trails to help you explore the area a little more. Our cottage is also at the gateway to the St Brendan’s Island. A 1hour 30 min ferry ride in the morning will get you a day trip to the island. Bring a picnic lunch and/or bikes for a relaxing outing in the Summer or Fall. Catch the late afternoon ferry and be back in time for dinner.
Our cozy cottage is on a quiet road on the bay. It’s a place to relax, decompress and recharge.
  • The cottage has a great view of the harbor & in close proximity to the ferry to St. Brendan's. Very clean & comfortable & the owners Kim & Sean were so friendly to us. We'd definitely would recommend this place to others.

    Carole2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 2 weeks at Squid Tickle Landing. It was a lovely, relaxing place to stay. We especially liked sitting out on the deck where we could read, watch the ferry, and simply enjoy the serenity of the view. The house is cosy, clean and well-equipped - one of the nicest places we have rented and the piano and fresh berries from the yard were extra bonuses. The hosts have done a marvellous job and they really made us feel welcome while giving us all the privacy we could want. I sure wish we could bring them back home for next-door neighbours. Thank you Kim and Sean for a great holiday!

    Wendy2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely outstanding time at Kim’s place. We felt so well taken care of throughout our initial booking, our check-in, our stay & our departure. Kim provided outstanding tips on the local community; which included suggestions for places to go. The neighbourhood was very peaceful and the local people were among our favourite ever. We spent time in Terra Nova National Park which included a 43km ultra marathon. Kim shared ideas on where to swim thereafter which was very thoughtful. On our second night, post race, on Kim’s suggestion, we made our way to Ocean Breeze Restaurant in Salvage for dinner and made plenty of new friends. When leaving, I accidentally forgot my sweater at the restaurant and the owner offered to drive it into Eastport the following morning and leave it with the gas station attendant; which he did. The people we met throughout our time in Newfoundland were so friendly and this is just one small example. From Kim’s place, access to/from the highway was very easy and travel was easy to navigate. The community near by has a couple grocery stores, a gas station (aka sweater delivery station), a restaurant & a hardware store. Where we stayed was perfect for our needs. Kim has a beautiful place which was well thought out and included everything we needed during our stay. The nearby community was lovely & Kim’s overall hospitality was way above and beyond our initial expectations. Many thanks for a terrific time. We enjoyed the few days we were able to at your place before heading into St. John’s for business through the rest of the week. Only regret was not staying at Kim’s place longer!! Next time!

  • This was a great cabin in a fantastic location - a quiet village on a scenic tickle on the Eastport Peninsula. The hosts have been very thoughtful in providing everything you might need, from binoculars to beach towels. The rhubarb cake was incredible. The region was amazing for hiking and beaches. I’d go back.

  • What a wonderful place to stay! We felt very welcomed by Kim and Sean even before we arrived. The space was clean and inviting and was a great location for touring around the area. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evenings watching the ferry arrive and leave and watching the sunsets.

  • Beautiful setting. All conveniences. Set up was perfect. Lots of nice little touches. Recommend wholeheartedly. Kim is an easily accessible and thoughtful host.

  • Great location, nice amenities, super clean. Add a helpful host that responded promptly to messages, and it’s a winning combination. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

This unit has a ocean view front , kitchen / living room had a open concept ,this unit has two bedrooms with a queen bed in each, a beautiful bathroom with washer and dryer in the bathroom
The view is amazing, you can see when in season the icebergs , they drift on threw to Bonavista , also can see whales and gannets There is a restaurant joined to the Airbnb
  • Sylvia's place at Hub of the North was overall excellent. Spacious, clean and essentially new, Sylvia is building a great reputation with her hospitality as her places gain exposure. The restaurant attached to the building is very handy and we had a couple of meals and drinks together with the local folks and other tourists on the island, the fish chowder was great! The restaurant stays open a bit late and Sylvia was accommodating to make sure we were further away to have a more quiet stay.

  • This chalet is an oasis. Plenty of space, cozy, quiet and a great wrap around deck. The small beach takes just a couple of minutes to get to by going down over the hill in front of the chalet. It’s a perfect spot for a getaway on its own, or as a stop for a couple of days as you drive across the island.

  • A family friendly wonderful holiday. We absolutely enjoyed our 3 nights while visiting families. The open spaces allow for great meals prepared and cooked together. We will be back. thank you

  • My husband and I stayed here for three nights and were pleasantly surprised and impressed with everything! The pictures do not do it justice. Not only is it very clean, but it is also so nicely appointed. The furniture and decor are so nice, and we both found the bed to be very comfortable. The house is tucked away in a private location and is right on the water. If the weather had been a bit better we would have enjoyed the deck and outdoors, but we did enjoy all the views from inside. We had everything we needed to make meals, and there is a grocery store close by. This was our first trip to Newfoundland and we enjoyed the location being close to Terra Nova National Park, and hiking/sightseeing. Anthony and Sherry responded quickly to any questions. I wish we could have stayed longer. I wish we could go back!

  • Beautiful log cabin; sleeps 5 comfortably; right by the water; great place to visit or to use as a stop in between Gros Morne and St. John's (which is what we did)!

The Raspberry House is located in Burnside, Bonavista Bay, NL. It is on Route 310 and is one of the seven communities on the Eastport Peninsula and is adjacent to Terra Nova National Park. It is famous for kayaking and less than an hour from a golf course. The house is in excess of a hundred years old. We have been, and continue, to lovingly restore it over the last few years. It got its name due to the abundance of raspberries that grow on the property and was named by my niece Chloe.
This house was built by my grandfather and it is where he and my grandmother raised their family of four boys. My family and I started living there when I was ten years old along with my grandparents. When I became the proud owner, I made the decision to keep the house and improve it. As a result it has been restored and carefully maintained. It is a two story home with three bedrooms (located upstairs) , one bathroom (located on main floor). It has many architectural features specific to homes built over a century ago. Even though a lot of renovations have been done, we have worked hard to keep the character of the house as it was as is shown by grandmother's pantry, exposed beams, original staircase to name a few.
Burnside is a very beautiful quiet community with a year round population of less than fifty. The summertime sees many more people both visiting for the first time as well as family returning for vacations especially during the cod fishing times. People take great pride in their property and community and you can always find someone to chat with. People are welcoming and kind. We also have a post office, a beautiful church - St. Alban's Anglican Church - and our original school house which now serves as a church hall. It is also the ferry terminal for St. Brendan's. This is an hour long affordable ride to an island community. It provides a great opportunity to take a picnic and explore the island.
  • Super hostess. Great house and super quiet location. You'll love it!

  • This was our very first airbandb experience. Linda and her husband set a very high bar. From Linda's genuinely warm greeting on her lawn when we arrived, to the sharing of her immaculate heritage property (her grandmother's home) to all kinds of personal touches she and her husband provided for us during our stay, we knew we were in really good hands. If you're looking for a traditional, homey Newfoundland experience I don't think you could do better than Raspberry House. The village of Burnside is so pretty, so peaceful and quiet, you'll get a very good night sleep for sure. And if you happen to have a clear sky at night lie outside on the Raspberry House lawn for stargazing. We saw 10 shooting stars in about an hour and it wasn't even a meteor shower week!

    Jessica2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely recommend Linda's lovely home! You will not go away disappointed! Everything that you will need is provided... spotlessly clean! We thoroughly enjoyed Linda's hospitality and her thoughtful touches! Our three night visit will be one of our special memories of the summer.

  • What a lovely house and lovely host! We sadly were only staying one night during our Newfoundland road trip, but really enjoyed our time at the Raspberry house and learning a little bit about its history. We were welcomed with generous hospitality and would very much recommend spending some time here!

  • You will get to experience a good outpost vacation at the Raspberry House. Unlike some other places, this home is fully furnished, with many kitchen appliances and cooking utensils. A short walk to watch the sunrise from the dock, and the other direction to watch the sunset (or view from the upstairs windows). Linda gives great tips on local attractions, ice cream, and wifi locations. Found lots of sea glass on beach about 5 minutes away. Easy drive to Terra Nova National Park and Trinity. Very restful place--took more naps than ever before!

  • Raspberry House can’t be beat for a peaceful, beautiful, and authentic NL setting. Linda is a fantastic host, and we are so glad we chose Raspberry House! We were sad to leave and hope to return.

My home is modern and comfortable adjacent to the ocean on beautiful Bonavista Bay. Excellent kayaking, great beaches just a short drive and only 40 minutes by car to a world class golf course. Enjoy private space on the ocean. Minimum two nights stay.
    The ocean view
Burnside is a beautiful old community with lots of history and only minutes form other town like St Chads, Eastport, Happy Adventure and Sandy Cove. Fantastic sandy beaches within 10 minutes drive. About 20 minutes to Terra Nova National Park.
  • Awesome place awesome location Awesome host.

  • We really enjoyed our stay. It is a very beautiful and peaceful place. If you stay here you will not be disappointed. If you don’t want to sit on the patio and enjoy the amazing views you can take a walk along the quiet roads, it’s like heaven. The hospitality was amazing. Highly recommended.
