Whether you want to relax in the hot tub with a glass of wine, cwtch up (Welsh for cuddle up) with a good book, explore the spectacular mountain scenery, walk the coastal path or enjoy wildlife and nature at its best, our cottage is the ideal, cosy, peaceful place to escape to and breathe. Located near the beautiful Georgian town of Aberaeron, market town Tregaron, and university towns of Lampeter, and Aberystwyth, and with a great pub within easy walking distance, you will go home recharged.
Cwtch Cottage has its own separate, secure, and private entrance, as an attached but independent cottage next door to our own house. That means that we are on hand if you need help, but will leave you totally in peace otherwise! Totally self contained and set in 7 acres of fields including a one acre natural spring fed lake and an additional pond teaming with wildlife, depending on the time of year, you will see red kites and buzzards overhead, several species of duck, greylags and Canada geese, and our regular visitors, the heron and the occasional cormorant. There is such low light pollution that you will almost certainly be treated to a stunning night sky, bright stars and breathtaking views of the Milky Way. Cwtch Cottage has its own all year spa hot tub for exclusive use by the cottage guests. It is screened off to ensure your privacy while at the same time allowing you to enjoy stunning views of the lake to the front, the hills and mountains to the side views over extensive country to the rear and the Milky Way and stars at night. There is also a picnic table to the front of the cottage with views over the lake and a bench to the side. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome and we provide a variety of dog bowls and towels too, though please be aware that we have our own dogs and cats who wander around the grounds at will. Please let us know in advance if you are planning to bring your pooch(es) with you so we can make your pet feel welcome too. You are welcome to take a walk around the property, try your hand at fishing as our guests, say hello to our ponies, dogs and cats or just enjoy some undisturbed peace and quiet to help you recharge. The cottage is tastefully decorated and has broadband, a 42" TV with FreeView, a Blueray DVD player with DVDs and a range of books, games and magazines for you to enjoy. There is also an Amazon Firestick connected which you can use to log onto your own account. The kitchen is also very well equipped with halogen hob/grill/oven, microwave, dishwasher and has both a small fridge and large fridge/freezer. There is ample cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots, pans and utensils. A welcome tea tray consisting of Earl Grey and English breakfast teas, green tea and peppermint tea, coffee and hot chocolate together with a choice of biscuits will be ready waiting for you when you arrive. If you need to do some washing, the washer/drier makes life easier and there is an ironing board and decent iron. There is a shower room with shower, WC and wash basin downstairs.
Cwtch Cottage is located in the safest county in the UK, Ceredigion, within easy reach of mountains and coast. Our nearest neighbour is several hundred yards in each direction so peace is guaranteed. If you are a foodie, there's the Hungry Ram less than a mile away which does great food and welcomes well behaved dogs (mention at time of booking which is advised as it is very popular). One of Wales' top pubs, the Talbot in Tregaron, whose chef trained with Pierre Marco White, is only a short drive away. There are numerous other excellent restaurants in Aberaeron, recently recognised as one of the best places to be in the UK. Notable places to eat and drink include The Cellar and Manuka while the Harbourmaster right next door to the harbour offers nationally recognised high quality epicurian delights! In addition, The Hive offers great seafood, and ribs, to go with its renown honey ice cream by day and is a lively bar, with regular live music by night. We are also within an hour of Ynyshir Hall if Michelin starred cuisine is your thing. If you fancy a quiet night in, there is a good Chinese take away, fish and chip shop and kebab shop fifteen minutes away and a great Indian and others within 20 minutes. Equestrian lovers will find themselves in the heart of Welsh cob country and easy reach of some of the world's top studs who welcome visitors by arrangement. For lovers of arts and crafts, there is an active summer arts trail as well as regular fairs and exhibitions. Perhaps a view from Cwtch Cottage could provide the inspiration for your next painting, drawing or photograph! Whatever you enjoy, Cwtch Cottage is well equipped with information leaflets for a wide range of different venues to visit and activities to try if you want to go off exploring.
  • Carolyn’s Place is the perfect retreat for those that want peace, tranquility and the option to go out and explore. I booked a short stay for my fiancé as a Christmas present, and I loved that we could take our dog with us! The cottage itself has everything you’d need, it’s a real home from home. I loved sitting with the curtains open at night and looking at the beautiful clear sky! Carolyn is such an amazing host. She showed us around the cottage, but we were left to relax in our own company, knowing that help was on hand if required! I loved the little touches, like welsh cakes on arrival and even some dog biscuits for our furry baby Gwen. I would 100% book again, as there are so many beautiful beaches and walks to explore, followed by relaxing in the hot tub! Thanks for such a wonderful stay :)

  • What a wonderful place to stay. The wildlife is amazing. The cottage was so cosy on a cold wet night. The hospitality was excellent. What a lovely week we had.

  • What a great place to relax and chill. The people in the area are so friendly and helpful. The cottage has everything and more so just go and enjoy.

  • Carolyn was so welcoming and gave us some great tips about the area. It felt like we were staying with an old friend. The cottage is lovely and the surrounding space is beautiful.

    Rhys2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cosy little cottage! Contains everything you need. Super quick communication. The hot tub was lovely with great views. Stayed in a few Airbnb and this was the best one! Xx

  • Carolyn was a fantastic host. We arrived 2 hours later than expected and were greated by Carolyn on arrival she was so lovely and friendly. She gave us a tour around the cottage and explained how everything worked. I'd booked the trip as a surprise for my partners 30th and Carolyn had very kindly bought him a card and a bottle of bubbly for us to celebrate. Carolyn gave excellent recommendations for things to do and where to eat. After a long journey from Plymouth we made the short walk to the Hungry Ram and enjoyed a lovely meal before heading back to relax in the hot tub. Having looked quite hard to find the right place to stay I can honestly stay the cottage exceeded all expectations. The privacy and exclusive use of the hot tub were real bonuses. We will definitely be coming back.

    Jade2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. Carolyn and Rhys were lovely, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Lovely way to spend my birthday. Thank you for an amazing few days, cars and bottle of prosecco

Kirstie Allsopp's Best of Both worlds programme on Channel 4 featured this romantic getaway for two.
There is something about this thatched cottage that brings out the romance. We have hosted many honeymooners, couples that become engaged while here, and anniversary trips. It is simply lovely and cosy in an architecturally unique building near to the Welsh coast. Our situation provides guests with an excellent base to explore the many local attractions and the Coastal Path. By staying at Ffynnon Oer Isaf you will avoid the tourist crowds while being able to dip into the beach villages (or the water) as you please. Ffynnon Oer is ideally located. We are located on a good road so guests can easily hop in their car for a quick explore. Our guests enjoy the fact that Ffynnon Oer is a “hot spot” (compared to other holiday locations). We offer reliable internet with wi-fi so you can sit on the sofa and plan your next adventure. Most guests receive a decent mobile signal. No worries about having to roam around in a field or hilltop trying to get a signal! On top of all its practical advantages, the cottage itself will be one of the highlights of your trip. Ffynnon Oer Isaf is one of the best surviving examples of an eighteenth century clom cottages in Wales. It is Grade II listed in recognition of its “outstanding architectural interest. “ The cottage was built around 1750, and although there have been alterations, the interior arrangement and many details are original to that time. The “crogloffts” are traditional sleeping platforms that were once common in West Wales, as were wickerwork chimneys such as the one seen here. Apart from doing repair work, no one has built in clom in this area for well over a century. The walls are protected with a traditional limewash and the oak crucks and roof structure are all original and untouched since the eighteenth century. Our gardens are lovely any time of the year. Even in winter, there are over 20 different varieties of snowdrops. The front of the house is planted with a rose and herb garden. Please cut the roses and herbs for your enjoyment. We are dog friendly; however, our garden is not fully enclosed. Canine visitors adore the coastal path or exploring the countryside. Bath towels, bed linens, and bathroom welcome pack are included. The house is situated in a small hamlet of houses. We are near to the beaches of ceredigion, Aberaeron (15 minutes), Llangranog (30 minutes) Lampeter, the Llanerchaeron estate, Aberystwyth (35 minutes) and lovely dining at Ty Mawr Mansion which has been awarded five stars from VisitWales. Paragliding and walking is popular in the area. This property is co-located with another property that sleeps six. Both can be booked at the same time for a large party of eight. Please visit our blog for more photos, latest news and things to do in the area. Airbnb will not allow the posting of a URL. You can find our blog by searching for "Tales from Wales" and the words "spring water cottages" or add my name, "Melise."
Everyone loves the drama of the Welsh coast. The peaceful view of sheep across the meadow and our lovely gardens. View our blog for lots of ideas on what to do and where to eat: search for 'springwater cottages" plus my name, "Melise" to find the blog. Please note: the house name is Ffynnon Oer Isaf. There is a gate at the front that says Ffynnon Oer in the grille work.
  • Our stay at Melise’s place was perfect. Beautiful, quirky little cottage which made our weekend away really interesting. Great cleanliness and a bath in the lovely tub was just what we needed after a wet, windy day before curling up in front of the fire! Thanks for being great hosts - the local information.l was brilliant. Can imagine how beautiful it would be in the Summer with the garden in bloom

  • Thanks for a great stay in your amazing thatched cottage. Very snug, warm and comfortable. We spent happy evenings reading by the log stove, and easily managed to avoid turning on the tv/dvd! Hope to maybe visit again- the coastal walks are excellent.

    Keith2020-02-06T00:00:00Z

It was located in the heart of the village, there were a couple of pubs, a grocery shop and a chip shop in close walking distance. Ty Twt - neat and cosy - is part of Wildernest, a haven set in the coastal hills above the delightful Aeron Valley. Sleeping is in the croglofft, above the kitchen-diner, with 2nd bedroom and shower room on ground; underfloor heating and log burner. It can sleep 4 but we say 3 people comfortably. Hence, there's no charge for a fourth person. If you need the second bed to be made up please enter 3 (or 4) guests.
Ty Twt is part of the old stone range in the former store house. Adjacent is Cuddfan and the Long Barn.
There are two special aspects to the landscape here - the Cambrian mountains and the Cardigan coast - making this a real green and wild destination. The Cardigan coast is notched with a chain of secluded coves with nestling villages. It is one of the best spots to see sea life with regular sightings of dolphins, porpoises, and seals. Seabirds perform from nests on the cliffs and it is one of the few places to see the masterful aerobatics of choughs. Cwm Silio is one the best-kept secrets; this beautifully secluded cove lies down a path from the back of a graveyard, through temperate rain forest, past waterfalls, across streams and butterfly- strewn slopes. There's not an artefact in sight. Further on, Castell Bach iron-age fort remains with the incredibly folded rock formations
  • Absolutely stunning! Very welcoming on arrival. Beautiful scenery, calm atmosphere. Inside was spotless and very cosy. Would definitely stay again!

    Joseph2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really had a great time in this lovely cottage and would definetely recommend it to everyone. Hugh and Jude are the best hosts you could wish for. We would like to come back here one day!

    Adrienne2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely escape in a nice peaceful location. We were expecting it to be really cold in the middle of February, but the barn has under floor heating and was really toasty all of the time, and the log fire was a treat in the evenings. We took our almost 2 year old, and he loved waking up to the chickens and Jimi the dog. The lack of TV is really refreshing, and we played games and had some good quality family time instead.

    Stephanie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ty Twt: Stylish, well appointed and quiet bolt hole. Recommended. I needed somewhere quiet to do some work for a few days in Feb. Ty Twt was perfect. The wifi was excellent, facilities were all good and the communication and hospitality was just what I was after. Hugh was around to help when needed, but not intrusive at all.

    Dominic2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Superb stylish accommodation. Hugh and his wife were very welcoming; we had two young children with us (3 and 1) and had no problems. They loved hanging out in the communal room before their tea on an evening and the chickens and dog coming to our door in the morning. We loved the feel of the place, exploring the local area (although many attractions were closed due to it been January) but still had a great time and some lovely walks. Also loved returning back to the accommodation, cooking at a feast and getting cosy in front of the log burner with a glass of wine. Would highly recommend.

    Simon2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This really is a welcome retreat. Very cosy with underfloor heating and a wood burner if you like a fire. We did! Hugh and Jude are so friendly and are clearly passionate about the estate. You can sit at the window and get up close with many different species of woodland birds, whilst reading a good book or easily go out and explore the amazing Ceredigion landscape.

    Charlotte2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is wonderful so cosy with a wood burner. Very comfy bed and everything you need for a few days away. I would highly recommend!

Brynifor is set alongside a bridal path and very close to the River Teifi. It is also within walking distance to the local village community run shop in Capel Dewi if you need to pick up a few supplies, where there is a working Woolen Mill and pretty church. Our location is an ideal base for exploring south, west and mid Wales. Brynifor is within half an hour's drive from the Cardigan Bay coastline with its sandy beaches and spectacular scenery and is also one of the best places in the UK to see dolphins, seals and porpoises. Boat trips are available from Newquay to get an even closer look! Besides the coastline there are numerous things to do. You can canoe along the Teifi River through Cilgerran Gorge – the home of otters and kingfishers. Or visit an Iron Age settlement (featured on a BBC Production) Castell Henllys. There’s horse riding on Llanllwni mountain, fishing, Oakwood theme park, Go Karts, Folly Farm, a butterfly farm, steam railways, Castles and Museums – the list is endless! The National Woollen Museum and the National Botanical garden are not far. The cottage has lots and lots of tourist attraction leaflets and maps of the surrounding area to help you choose your days out. And for anyone just wanting some quiet relaxing time there are starry night skies, Cludeo, jigsaws, and quite a few books.
  • A great stop over at Jackie’s place and somewhere I’d happily return, very quiet and cosy. Thanks again

  • Lovely little place. We had the worst weather but managed to keep warm. It’s a great place to stay for a cosy romantic get away

    Justine2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely weekend away. We were unlucky with the weather this weekend however it was very cosy in the cottage.

    Molly2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect. We loved our stay. The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Very cosy, clean and toasty warm with the wood burner. We loved it and will definitely visit again. Highly recommend.

  • Such a cosy, quiet, peaceful place for a relaxing retreat. We spent a lovely couple of days exploring the coasts and forests by day, and snuggling up by the log fire in the evenings. Jackie and Dave were very attentive hosts, offering plenty of helpful tips and answering our questions quickly and efficiently. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Jackie in her pottery studio learning to throw, which was a fantastic bonus.

    Sophie2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful, cosy cottage in a stunning location.

Y Caban Pren is located within a six acre property about three miles from Cardigan. It is set in a stunning landscape with far-reaching views. The accommodation is self-contained, and is constructed to a very high standard, with thick insulation, electric heating and double glazing to all rooms. Much of the hot water is solar heated. It is comfortably fitted out with neutral colours, and the kitchen area is well equipped, with fridge. Outside, there is a decking area with table and chairs.
Y Caban Pren is situated within the grounds of a beautiful and peaceful six acre property called Waun Lle. There are panoramic views across to the Preseli Hills and around to Cardigan Bay. It is an ideal location for a quiet and relaxing break, away from it all but with easy driving access to Cardigan and the coast.
The property is about three miles from Cardigan, and is situated just off a lane which adjoins the A487, giving easy access north towards Aberystwyth and south to Cardigan and onwards into Pembrokeshire. Cardigan is a vibrant small town with two supermarkets and a good range of independent shops and eating places. Access is easy to many beautiful beaches, with Mwnt being the nearest.
  • We highly recommend Melanie's place. Spotlessly clean and tidy. Cozy and roomy. Perfect for a few days away. Close to some idyllic beaches at Mwnt, Aberporth and Tresaith. Just a few minutes away from Cardigan, with a large supermarket and local shops etc.

  • This is such a super place and well deserved its cosy status in horrid weather. It's a really nice place to hole up, comfy and stylish. Thanks again for your hospitality especially the Welsh cakes!

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place and the cabin. It's a very cosy and comfortable place to have as a base and explore the surrounding beautiful area. Melanie and Simon were lovely hosts, very nice and helpful. We will definitely revisit during spring/summer time. Thank you!

  • Cosy cabin in a very quiet location.

    Clare2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a perfect place for our few days in the cardigan area. It had all the amenities that we needed, was warm, and very comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for better. We would definitely go there again. The Surrounding area is so beautiful, with interesting places to visit and some wonderful coastal walks.

My place is close to Cors Caron (the largest raised bog in Britain), the Cambrian Mountains and only 30 minutes' drive to the beautiful Ceredigion coastline. Its village location means it is only a short walk to independent shops, restaurant and pub. You’ll love my place because of its spacious rooms, yet maintaining a cozy country feel with exposed beams/stonework and wood burning stove. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
  • The cottage was great, the host was very responsive when we made the booking and everything you need is there for your stay.

    Phil2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • 2nd visit staying here and the place is still just a wonderful, lovely spacious house, with a homely cosy feel & sparkling clean, thank you Tu & Lloyd

    Natasha2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, welcoming cottage in an excellent location. Ideal for a long weekend away with everything on hand.

    Paul2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem 💖. From the moment you step into the cottage you really feel you're at home. The whole property is beautifully decorated and very clean. In the living room there is a nice fire place to make your evenings even cosier. We had a welcome bowl full of fruits, fresh linen, towels, the kitchen is fully equipped as well as the whole place. The house is entirely thought to make your stay more comfortable. The area is very safe, it's quiet and very pretty. Our comunication with Tu & Lloyd was perfect. They are genuinely great hosts.

    Marcio2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tu and Lloyd’s place is one of the best places we have stayed on airbnb. My partner and I have stayed in many places but in our opinion, nowhere has been as perfect for us and for what we want. It was quiet, comfortable and clean. The whole house was big for the two of us but we liked having the space to relax in. The kitchen came with a lot of useful equipment, and the living room was perfectly comfortable and homely. The local area has friendly locals, all the amenities you may need or want. However, we did need to travel for a bigger food shop (not a problem for us!). We loved our stay here and hope to return again. I’d highly recommend a stay here.

    Rowena2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for Christmas 2019. Communication prior to check in was perfect and very clear instructions sent. The house was sparkling clean and everything we needed was easy to find! A very comfortable, well decorated house! Spar and hoel in the town are very convenient for food and drink options and the Spar was even open Christmas day !

    Jody2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy cottage in a small village location with everything you need . Friendly locals & lovely gift shops. The cottage has plenty of space and is well equipped. Very picturesque areas to visit and we loved Rhandirmwyn and Llandovery. Thank you so much for providing such a memorable experience for us

    Bob2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage has everything you need for a short or long stay. I also only used public transport to get to and from Tregaron and the local buses are reliable. The cottage is cute and homely.

  • A beautiful cottage in the middle of Tregaron which is a quiet village. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed, was cozy and warm, and spotlessly clean. We like to cook and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Parking is in the pay and display opposite - only £1.80 per 24hrs, and a reasonably sized Spar shop is less than 1 minute walk away. There are pubs and takeaways in the village if you don't fancy cooking. We did some lovely local walks and visited the coast which is 30 mins away.

    Dan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lush couple of days in Maesyfelin! It is such a cute cottage. There is a shop and a dog friendly pub which serves very nice food less than a minute walk away. There are a couple of take aways up the road too! Demelza was a really lovely host and very helpful! Hope to come back :)

    Sophie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check in, everything you'd need. A warm and comfy base for our stay in Wales.

  • This was such a beautiful cottage which we booked last minute. We arrived beginning of Jan 2020 and what a nice way to start the new year . Was so cosy and snug and the open fire definitely made it for us . Lovely walks in and around the cottage and nice pubs . Aberystwyth was only 30 min drive away which was a lovely town with Rome nice beaches . Can’t wait to book again and explore some more !!

    Donna2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in walking distance of nice pub and the Spar. Communication with owners a bit slow

    Ann2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I wanted to find a perfect place to spend a nice quiet Christmas and came across this place and after staying here we can honestly say it was perfect! Lovely cottage has everything you could need, pet friendly, warm, cosy, clean, logs provided for the fire, shop close by, takeaway, lovely pub and plenty to see and do locally. The hosts were easy to contact, even came over on Xmas eve to make sure we had everything which was very kind. The cottage had been decorated to make it feel festive and there was even a real Christmas tree up for us. We had a wonderful Christmas here and highly recommend. Will definitely be back again!

    Hannah2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time in this little cottage. We love it. Children are Welsh speakers and living in Cardiff don't have many opportunities to speak this beautiful language. Kitchen equipped with everything and more. Rooms sparkling clean and very cosy. Log burner perfect after rainy and cold walk. I wish I could have more communication with hosts but I suppose they trust us. I hope we can come back soon. Diolch yn fawr.

    Nuria2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in a pretty village. Pub/restaurant which is just a few seconds away from the house serves fantastic food there. Electric heaters in every single room kept the place warm and cosy. Me and sister loved the fireplace too. Parking was in Pay and Display just opposite the house not an issue but it could be mentioned in description rather than finding out about it from other reviews. Sofa and carpet could really do with a clean but the rest of the place was very tidy. Responses through AirBnb were very slow.. Otherwise we had a lovely weekend away.

COVID-19: Following the latest government advice, we are no longer taking bookings for the period of Friday 20 March to Thursday 30 April 2020. For any holiday after this date we are continuing to monitor the government advice. The Cerbyd is located in scenic peaceful countryside, only a 25-min drive away from the beautiful West Wales coast. With a lovely 4-poster bed and a log burning fire, it is perfect for a weekend getaway. It has high-speed WiFi >20 Mbps.
We are in a secluded quiet area, and yet only 10 minutes drive from Lampeter and all amenities. The Cerbyd is ideal for couples or a small family. It has one large bedroom and sleeps up to three: one king and a single sofa bed (plus cot, if required). You can chill and mingle with our free range ducks and chickens, or walk the hills and valleys. Great for birdwatchers and nature lovers. The nearest beach is a 25 minutes drive away, where you will also find the Ceredigion Coastal Path - a 60 mile long trail.
We are on the hillside above Cellan, a small village. We love the quiet rural setting with Buzzards and Red Kites circling above. We are only a short drive from the small university town of Lampeter.
  • Wonderful return to Ty Cerbyd. The accommodation is very comfortable and cosy. We enjoyed the eggs from the chickens. Thank you for having us again!

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This coach-house conversion made the cosiest, quaint cottage, perfect for our holiday away from work and city life and seeing old friends. Daniela and John stayed in touch throughout the 4 days. They provided us with complimentary eggs from there own friendly chickens! Hot drink supplies and wood for the log burner to stay hot! The four poster bed was a dream and the living room was simply marvellous. The area was perfect for star gazing and getting lost within the Welsh countryside...Not literally! This couples retreat is one not to be missed, we will be back!

    Jamie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really lovely if you just want to get away from it all. The views are stunning and it is very peaceful. The whole place is thoughtfully converted, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Good value for money too!

  • Couldn't be better. Beautiful spot. Wonderful cosy cottage. Can't recommend enough.

    Carly2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to spend some time in the quiet. The place was clean and well equipped.

    Liam2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first stop on this Wales trip and the house is located in a beautiful open area with great views. The bedroom had more than enough space for the both of us and the bed was really pretty. We really enjoyed having the log burner in the living room which warmed up the whole place nicely, especially after a long and slightly damp walk. It was amazing having so many animals outside and we loved going on a hunt for James in the woods. It was a bit tricky as he decided to chill out on a rather hilly part of the woods, but we managed to find him. We bought some bread to have with the fresh eggs left for us and fed the rest of the bread to James, who ended up following us around when we went to continue on our walk. We didn't get to meet the hosts, but communication was great and we had everything we needed for our stay. We definitely recommend this place, even more so if you are animal-lovers like ourselves.

    Conner2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • John and Danielas cottage is the perfect place for a cosy few days away. The comfy bed, cosy living room and wood burning stove were ideal for the cold evenings! We were quite unprepared for the holiday so fixings for tea and coffee, and lots of maps, walking guides and recommendations were really helpful in planning our few days! And Poppy the dog loved the fire place and James the Pig too!

    Alex2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Idyllic cottage, exactly as shown by the photos, the bed is very comfy and the cottage is spacious and light. Really cosy, quiet and secluded. Lovely special touches by Daniela who was very friendly. Loved meeting the dogs and going to feed James the pig in the gorgeous woodland. Had such a nice short stay, would highly recommend.

Bed and Breakfast at our farmhouse that is almost 200 years old. We are in a quiet spot yet nestled between Aberporth on the coast and Cardigan with all the amenities. A great location for walking the coastal path or visiting some of the best beaches in West Wales.
The house is on a quiet 8 acre small holding near the beautiful coastline of West Wales. 3 miles to Cardigan and about a 40 minute drive to the Ferry to Ireland at Fishguard. Cardigan has a Aldi and a Tesco. A few miles to 6 beautiful sand beaches, two that are National Trust. Our local beach is Mwnt, listed as No. 1 in the Daily Mail's list in the Top Ten: Europe's Secret Beaches. You can easily walk to the Ceredigion Coastal Path. There is a small bedroom with 2 single beds, another small one with a double bed, and a larger one with a King Size bed. Two bathrooms (one for exclusive use by guests) and a shower in an outbuilding if you hate baths and want an invigorating experience. We have our own eggs if you like a big breakfast. It is a 15 minute walk to the local bus stops if you are using public transport. In the summer and selected days in the winter there is the Cardi Bach, a small bus that serves the Coastal Path so you only need to walk one way. The Cardi Bach bus stop in Felinwynt is close to our drive. Closest train stations are Carmarthen or Aberystwyth. If you come by bus, happy to pick you up in Cardigan. If you like to cycle, we are on a bike route and plenty of space in the barn to store yourvbike. Plenty of good places to eat nearby and if you are on a tight budget you can cook in the kitchen. If the dates you want are booked, contact us we may have another bedroom available. One of the most popular trips in Cardigan is a boat trip called Bay to Remember-On most trips you will see dolphins, seals and plenty of bird life.
We live in a rural location although there is a convenience shop 2 miles away. You can walk to the coastal path from our house. We live down a drive off a quiet road. It is a quiet location.
  • Fantastic location, beautiful house, lovely people. Will definitely return.

  • Brilliant hospitality from start to finish and the room was excellent. I liked spending time in the cosy kitchen, reading and having a mug of coffee from the new coffee machine. We cooked ourselves a lovely breakfast - they supply the food and you supply the labour. Loved the experience from start to finish, also check out Alex and Renie's holiday let which is superb. We will be back! Andy & Suzi x

  • Alex and Renie provide very clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfasts are great and they are very willing to help with information about the local sights to see. The only difficulty we experienced is finding the country site, but Alex is very willing to share good directions for finding the Stone Farmhouse. You will have a good experience if you choose to stay.

We've made Beudy Penlan a special kind of place that we'd like to stay in. A beautiful stone cottage with a touch of quirky charm. 0pen plan and spacious, it's a truly restful retreat, yet within easy reach of the sublime Ceredigion coast, and pet friendly too. If you have a larger group, check out the adjoining cottage Beudy Penlan Isaf at www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/24424075 NO CLEANING FEE!, but we do ask guests to leave the cottage as they found it. NO EXTRA CHARGES FOR WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS
The stone whitewashed walls, open A-frame roof and open plan layout create a spacious feel to this split-level cottage. The main sleeping area being a traditional croggloft with a double bed accessed by stairs from the ground floor. There's a relaxing living area with two sofas, a wood burning stove, a plasma TV and a cracking sound system. There's free WiFi too, and a work area if you really need to open up the laptop. The kitchen has a hob, microwave/grill/convection oven, sink and fridge. There's an eating area with seating for six and the bathroom with shower is en-suite.
We are roughly 9 miles from the harbour towns of Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, just inland from the Ceredigion (Cardiganshire) coast. You will be staying in a really beautiful wooded valley, it is carpeted in blue belles in spring and in summer it can be a real sun trap. The old Welsh name for the area 'Dôl boeth', which means hot meadow. In autumn the colurs are truly dramatic, and in winter - well we're in Wales so you can experience all four seasons in one day, but on a bright, crisp winters morning you wouldn't wish to be anywhere else. You will be in the heart of the country, no distant rumble of cars - sleeping with the accompaniment of total silence is truly rejuvinating - a treatment few posh spas could offer. Our only neighbours are sheep, badgers and foxes with air cover provided by Red kites and buzzards. We are however not at all remote, the village of Llanrhystud is just over a mile away and the beach just another half mile. The village has an 18-hole golf course with swimming pool, leisure facilities, driving range and restaurant. There's also a petrol station with convenience store, a flower shop, a taxi and coach firm, a hairdresser, a good pub with great pub grub, beer garden and occasional live music and a post office and store that also provides top notch car repairs and servicing! See 'Other things to Note' for a whole lot more info. on what the area has to offer.

  • We have just been to stay at Emma's place and it was nothing short of amazing. From start to finish the stay was perfect, we only stayed for the one night but instantly regretted it when we arrived, we should have definitely booked longer. The room was sparkling and homely. Tea and coffee provided on arrival and the tv has netflix, youtube and other apps. Sitting in the hot tub with my partner at 8pm with a glass of gin looking at the stars was priceless, so relaxing! Emma's home and gardens are beautiful, picturesque and peaceful. Added bonus of breakfast was such a lovely touch. Thank you so much for being the best host! We're going to tell all our friends about this trip.

  • I recently stayed here with my boyfriend as an early birthday getaway and I can not recommend Emma’s place enough! Emma goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a relaxing, happy stay. The breakfast each morning was a lovely touch and was delicious! Emma is a very helpful host and responds quickly to any messages. The space itself is sparkling clean, and the hot tub is an amazing bonus. Lovely way to switch off and relax! Would 100% recommend staying here and we will be returning if in the area in the future. Thank you Emma!

COVID-19: Following the latest government advice, we are no longer taking bookings for the period of Friday 20 March to Thursday 30 April 2020. For any holiday after this date we are continuing to monitor the government advice. Y Stabl Cottage is located in scenic countryside, only a 25-min drive away from the beautiful West Wales coast and the Ceredigion Coastal Path, a 60 mile long trail. It provides a home from home and is perfect for nature lovers. The cottage has high-speed WiFi >20 Mbps.
This is a very relaxing place to stay and guests have described it as 'a little piece of heaven'. You can meet our farm animals, watch the red kites and buzzards soaring high above, or just sit and gaze into the log burning stove.
We are set on rolling farmland hills above the Teifi river valley. It is very peaceful here. We are only a 10-minute drive from the small university town of Lampeter with all amenities.
  • A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Daniela and John are warm and welcoming hosts. The property is definitely a home away from home. Tranquility from the rat-race. Lovely little touches and everything you could possibly need during your stay. The eggs from the resident chickens are yummy! James the pig and the dogs were a favourite of my children. We are a family of 5 and had plenty of space :)

    Helen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This warm and cosy cottage is a little haven tucked away on a lovely Welsh hillside. The cottage is spacious, well equipped and well furnished with some lovely tasteful touches. The bed and sofas are very comfortable and the log burner is a bonus for cosy evenings in by the fire. The wifi is great. Plenty of (quite steep) walks from the cottage, including the woods with James, the pig. Daniela and John are wonderful hosts and they live with their two very friendly dogs in the farmhouse next door. There are ducks and hens (thank you for the lovely eggs) and even some alpacas down the road at a neighbouring farm. It is beautifully quiet, the perfect rural, dog friendly retreat to escape from it all. This couple genuinely care about making guests feel welcome and it very much feels like a home from home.

  • Y Stabl is my absolute favorite B&B; we keep coming back year after year. In fact, one of my friends said these days it feels more like our home than our actual homes! John and Daniela are wonderful hosts, and incredibly flexible and responsive. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay!

A gorgeous hand crafted cabin. Views to the Preseli hills. Own garden and wood fired bath. 15 minutes drive to stunning coast. A really comfortable and simple place to stay. There's a compost toilet and a warm shower. There is a well equipped kitchenette plus a parking space for your car.
This is a beautiful cosy cabin - good for an intimate retreat or creative space. Well behaved pets are welcome.
Very rural, lots of country and coastal walks. Close to beaches, forest and river walks.
  • Lovely stay thanks!

  • Lovely and secluded. Great base for exploring the local area and extremely relaxing. The shack has everything that you need, including a lovely hot shower and wood burning fire. Great for those cold stormy nights even they couldn’t spoil the atmosphere the shack has. Defiantly would recommend.

    Sophie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to find. Feels remote but is a short drive from anything you need. Good for a walkers holiday. Beautiful views. Lots of site seeing opertunies. The log burner was lovely and heated the place well. Was really nice to get away from the world to relax.

    Zoe2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place. Ruth and John were extremely helpful and informative. The cabin is rustic but very cosy which is its charm. The stove was awesome and the outdoor heated bath was blissful. Even Storm Dennis conditions we were unbothered and left thoroughly relaxed. Will be back!

    Jessica2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Well that was a wonderful stay, one of the best places I've stayed ever! We stayed at the love shack for 4 nights last week and totally loved everything about the cabin and local area. The cabin is beautifully constructed and full of thoughtful touches and top quality amenities - the bed is super comfy! The eco-ness of it was really enlightening, and so good to be more aware of how we live. It was really magical to wake up with views over the fields and hills, get the wood fire started and enjoy our daily morning visit from Brian the cat. Everything you need is in the cabin, for cooking and chilling, and Ruth and John had some fab tips for local walks. Oh and the wood fired bath was brilliant! A hot bath, outside, in February, star and moon gazing, was an experience I'll never forget. Thank you Ruth and John for creating such a special space! I am 100% sure we'll be back! Xx

    Anne-Marie2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth & John's place is the perfect getaway from the stresses of modern life. The cabin was beautifully designed, clean and cosy and very welcoming. The woodburner was great and heated the cabin really well; we were lovely and warm the whole time. There is a very cute, cheeky cat called Brian who visited us daily for cuddles and to sit by the fire. The Love Shack is a wonderful little place and Ruth & John were very good hosts. We hope to return to this magical, peaceful place. Thank you.

The area is also popular with on and off road cyclists offering many scenic and challenging rides. There are many more places of interest to visit close by and within the area including the beautiful beaches at Ynyslas, Dolphin watching at Newquay, Strata Florida Abbey, the Silver Mountain mine experience and the magnificent Llanerchaeron, a National Trust property, to name a few.
  • Jane and Bob were very welcoming hosts, providing wealth on information about the local area, which is absolutely stunning. The accommodation was comfortable, with all necessities and more, we had our privacy and access to the garden. It was a nice place to retreat to out of the rain and warm up. More places are left to explore, I would definitely stay there again.

    Irina2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely peaceful haven in the Welsh countryside; the flat is equipped with everything you need, and was spotlessly clean. We really appreciated the tips on local walks and coffee shops from Jane and Bob.

    Deborah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodation in Devils Bridge and conveniently located for the Sweet Lamb stage of the GB Rally. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, toasty warm and very peaceful. The kitchen is very well equipped and it’s very handy that towels & bed linen are provided. Little extra touches were handy too- a torch for walking up from the local hotel at night, coffee tea and sugar, shower gel in the bathroom and umbrellas. We really enjoyed our stay here in Devils Bridge!

    Elizabeth2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A compact but comfortable stay awaits you in Devils Bridge. The apartment is ideally situated to explore the surrounding area. Jane and Bob are lovely hosts who have thought of everything to make their guests stay as flawless as possible. Patio doors open out on to a beautifully tended garden, with Red Kites wheeling above, and pleasant seating areas to enjoy the fresh Welsh mountain air. A return visit is planned for the near future.

  • Very clean and welcoming. Great location.

    Linda2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a warm welcome and a beautiful place to stay. There were so many touches to make the stay a great time from everything you need to cook to a wonderful outdoor patio and garden to a large selection of books and DVDs to watch. Definitely a perfect place to stay if you want quiet beauty. It's close to the Rheidol Railway and the stunning Mynach Falls.

    Katherine2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, lovely clean space. Although you're technically in the back garden it doesn't feel like it. Within spitting distance of the railway and tea rooms, and short walk to the pub and falls. A lovely spot

    Nick2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The first thing that strikes you as you approach Jane's house are the lovingly sculpted gardens. They are packed with colour and variety. And that just about sums up the accommodation too! A complete home from home with EVERYTHING you could ever need and plenty of thoughtful touches. There is also a lovely outdoor space separate from their own property. Our dog loved his stay as much as us and was just as well catered for. One of the best we've ever stayed in. The most detailed and helpful show around we've ever had. Lovingly presented by a couple who instantly felt like family. A special place run by special people in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

  • We were 7 adults and a baby celebrating a 40th birthday and had the most lovely time at Felin Hedd! We all kept commenting on how lovely the accomodation was, and the layout is perfect for large groups and families as there was plenty of space to cook and socialize together, but our friends with a young baby still had a quiet area where they wouldnt be disturbed. Aled and his wife were great hosts before and during our stay - and the homemade cakes were a lovely touch - definetely recommended!!

  • Aled is such a great Host, he was helpful before our stay and gave us a warm welcome upon our arrival. There was a beautiful thoughtful home made cake left for our arrival. The house was a beautiful place to spend New Year. The beach was 30 minutes drive, and there were great walks with the dogs just outside the house. We loved it.

  • Felin Hedd was a brilliant place to spend Christmas. The converted barn easily fit two families and a dog giving us plenty of space to hang out and our own areas to retreat to. Efficient heating which was great as even though the weather was good it was nice to come back to such a cosy space. Love the slate wall/fireplace but sadly no need to use log burner. Garden area, looks great too, but we didnt use that either. Spent most of our time on the beach as our 7month puppy who couldnt get enough of it! Great communication from Lisa too

A spacious comfortable converted barn, perfect for a couple, in an idyllic location with stunning views across the Ystwyth valley. Great for a quiet stay exploring the area, or birdwatching, but also close to many places of interest.
The barn has its own small garden and entrance, and includes a small kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine; bath/shower, separate wc, large open beamed sitting/dining room, with double bedroom leading off it. It combines traditional features with modern comfort.
This is a very peaceful Welsh farming community, close to the historic Hafod estate, 4 miles from the waterfalls and steam railway at Devil's Bridge and next to the scenic mountain road which leads to the Elan Valley lakes, a popular walking and cycling destination. Aberystwyth is 15 miles away and the beaches at Borth can be reached in 50 minutes. Other places of interest nearby include Strata Florida abbey, Cors Caron nature reserve, the mountains of Plyn Limon, source of the rivers Severn and Wye, and many forest trails.
  • Lovely cottage up near the Elan Valley. If you wish to have a remote break then this is absolutely ideal! Amazing property with beams, comfy bed and well equipped kitchen, would definitely stay here again!

5 miles from the west coast of Wales with its lovely sandy beaches, Porth Fach is in the heart of Brongest village/hamlet surrounded by beautiful countryside. Formerly a barn, then post office, the property has been recently converted into a stylish and comfortable single story stone cottage.
The cottage was originally a barn. Many of the homes in the village are converted farm building as Brongest was and is a strong farming community. The cottage comprises of a kitchen, a toilet and separate shower room as well as the living and dining room area and bedroom. There is extra sleeping accommodation in the form of a sofa-bed (1.2m wide). The south facing private garden has a parking space to the side and the cottage has its own private entrance. We are dog lovers and welcome 1 well behaved dog, but please be aware that our hens have a run connected to the garden of the cottage.
We are perfectly positions to enjoy the beautiful Welsh countryside and there are delightful woodland walks on the doorstep. Quiet and activity beaches, dolphin watching and coastal path walking are all close by. The National Trust beach, Penbryn is our closest beach where you can also enjoy an ice cream or lunch at the Plwmp Tart beach cafe. Newcastle Emlyn is only 4 miles away and has a variety of shops and supermarkets as well as the castle ruins, theatre and leisure centre with swimming pool. We recommend the Riverside cafe for its excellent vegetarian and vegan menu. The lovely historic town of Aberteifi (Cardigan) is only 9 miles away.
  • Porth Fach is a outstanding property. Fantastic accommodation. Decor and attention to detail to our taste. Very comfortable and peaceful location. Excellent value for money. Wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend. A beautiful area with lots of fantastic coastline to visit nearby.

  • We had a great stay here, the place was bigger than I’d thought, and little touches like fresh eggs from the chickens were really nice! Also it was so nice to wake up to the quiet of the country side and birds singing in the garden! Thanks for a lovely stay! Mel, Marc and Freya.:)

  • Lovely cottage a bit far from amenities but if u want a quiet break in with nice walks it's perfect

  • Adam and Beccy are great hosts, they’re super approachable with any queries you may have and seem happy to help. The place is lovely and clean, very spacious! We brought a 5 month old cocker spaniel so she appreciated all the space to run around.

    Selina2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 Adam and Beccy were great at replying to queries and check-in was very straightforward. Their cottage is stunning and stylish, with fresh eggs and lots of fire wood given as a welcoming touch. I would recommend Adam and Beccy’s cottage to anyone and would definitely book with them again!

    Becky2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little cottage! Everything you need and a few little extras we weren’t expecting (towels and a hair dryer). Easy check in and check out. Courteous hosts. Dog friendly too. Can’t fault it at all! Will recommend for sure.

  • A perfect place to relax and cosy up in front of the log burner with a good book :) The cottage exceeded our expectations, beautiful decor and very comfortable, Beccy and Adam had thought of everything. Quick drive to some beautiful beaches. Would love to make a return visit as we didn’t want to leave.

Cosy cottage (Pen Lon Las) is part of the east wing of Albro Castle workhouse situated in its own valley overlooking the Teifi Estuary. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside with the start of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path at the end of our lane. Poppit beach is a 15 minutes walk away and the Preseli Mountains a 20 minute drive. St.Dogmaels is a pretty village with a local produce market every Tuesday, brilliantly stocked shop for essentials and the Ferry Inn pub just a 5 minute walk form us.
Pen Lon Las is a one bedroom wing of the “best preserved workhouse in Wales” (National Trust). We have renovated it to be as authentic as possible, changing as little as we can, repairing old doors and windows and exposing old paint colours on parts of the walls giving a deep sense of history and tranquillity. It has its own fully equipped compact kitchen, shower room and toilet, and dining/lounge area with sold fuel stove and double sofa bed. The separate bedroom is simply furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Background heating is provided by storage heaters but lighting the solid fuel stove makes the whole cottage really cosy. Coal and kindling for this fire are provided free of charge which are stored in one of the former Vagrant cells close to the cottage. With care, the stove can be kept alight for your whole stay.
  • The communication and overall impression was first rate

    Tracey2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little place for a couple to stay...and we also brought our dog with us which was a bonus! The cottage has been sympathetically restored, so you can still see remnants of the old plasterwork etc. there is a lot of history to the building. Location wise, it is a 5 minute walk from one of the best pubs in the area which is by the water and serves good food and drink. Also, Poppit sands is a 5 minute drive, and Cardigan around a 10 minute drive. We would happily stay there again!

    Alexandra2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint cottage, just a short walk from the river estuary and village centre. It was a perfect place to get away from it all and a good base to explore the North Pembs coastline. Pete was really quick at getting back to us and made sure we had all the information we needed. Check in and out was simple. Our young terrier came with us and loved the trip.

  • Amazing hosts and definitely a cosy cottage!

    Jo2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, easy to find, friendly host had the fire burning when we arrived so was cosy and warm, 10mins walk to excellent Ferry Inn for lovely meal...

  • Beautiful setting and Cosy cottage! Amazing big dog friendly beach and coastal walks just 5 mins away. Fantastic food and service at the local Pub too!

  • Can’t recommend Albro Castle enough! Such a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage was extremely cosy with the fire going plus the bed was very comfy! Pete was a great host and extremely helpful, the cottage is the perfect gate-away to experience the amazing Pembrokeshire coast and the outstanding Welsh countryside.

    Chloe2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A completely unique property with a fascinating history , carefully restored with style and care. If you appreciate a serious attempt to preserve a valuable example of Welsh history you will love this place. So many lovely touches, including flowers and fruit when we arrived. Very comfortable with a coal fire and storage heaters that kept the place warm, a lovely refuge after a day’s walking the coast path. Workhouses have a complex history and it is impossible not to imagine the experience of people who lived here more than a century ago, especially the vagrant cells where people broke stones as payment for bread and board. Our host was very helpful and flexible , the cottage is well equipped and furnishings and bedding of lovely quality. I cannot recommend it enough

Located on the Melindwr river on the edge of the village of Goginan, private coarse fishing lake, private location, log fired hot tub, garden with BBQ, parking, close to the Nant yr Arian Mountain Bike Centre (bikers can ride from the trails to the Cabin) and a wide range of visitor facilities around Aberystwyth (river, lake and sea fishing, kyaking, surfing, horse riding, theatre, cinemas, Rheidol Steam Trains to Devils Bridge Waterfalls), one mile to the Druid Inn, serving food and ales.
The Cabin is set in 26 acres, mostly wooded, with a large veranda, views down the valley. Although secluded, along a half mile private road - the Cabin is very convenient for access to the coast and the amenities of Aberystwyth, and is particularly convenient for access to the Nant yr Arian Mountain Bike Centre. Bed linen is provided. The cottage is well equiped and bed linen is supplied. The hot tub is easy to use and we also supply sufficient logs for the first use of the log burner and hot tub. The hot tub will stay warm after that and will only require a small fire (about 1 to 2 sacks logs) for subsequent uses, logs are available at £4 a sack
A very friendly village with a well patronised public house - the Druid Inn. There are a number of good restaurants/bars locallty. We are particularly well located for access to the Nant yr Arian Mountain Bike Centre - the trails join up with roads/paths to Goginan.
  • What a gem! Gorgeous cabin with a log burner and hot tub. It's stylish, comfy and warm. You can go on walks without having to drive anywhere or drive to some nearby sites. We've had a lovely quite break in Wales and would love to go back!

    Emma2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location in a beautiful surrounding. Very peaceful and quiet. Plenty of room in the cabin.

    Madeline2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful and secluded. It's a great place to get away from city life. It's very peaceful and quiet! The facilities are great and the whole place is clean and tidy! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin and will definitely be going back!

    Andrea2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • It’s not often I am lost for words , I can not even put into detail how beautiful the log cabin is . We followed the instructions that Jane sent us and we got to the cabin fine . The pictures don’t do this place justice ! It’s amazing , it’s so spacious , you don’t actually realise how big the cabin is until you see it in person , We were always warm in the cabin , the hot tub was easy to use - and so was the fire in the living room. We had a lovely walk around the grounds and were mesmerised by the red kites flying over head . Jane was a great host and answered all of our enquires promptly . We can not wait to visit again . Thanks Jane

    Jake2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely idyllic location, very peaceful but not too far from everything mid Wales has to offer. Beautiful cabin, spacious with all amenities. Great hot tub and great night skies with little light pollution. Would highly recommend.

    Rob2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I certainly didn't expect what greeted us as we drove down the winding lane to the cabin. Behind a privacy fence and gate is the most beautiful log cabin, I feel like I'm cheating it calling it a cabin because it is so big. It has a large sheltered veranda with outdoor seating, a bbq area and of course the fantastic hot tub. Walking in you are in the kitchen which is clean, modern and very well equipped. That leads onto the lounge, separated by a good sized dining table, the lounge has two comfy sofas and an armchair, widescreen tv and a log burner. Down the hall is a larger bathroom with a double sized shower, just like the kitchen it is very well done and modern. The bedrooms are a very good size, especially the master which has an ensuite and doors out onto the veranda. The cabin is very well heated and has a separate room with a football table that my son loved. There is a tv in there too so for a longer stay he might bring his xbox. So yes the cabin is perfect and gorgeous but the location is what made it super special, it is perched on the side of the valley with views of the lake, river and Woodlands. Every day we marvelled at the pair of kites that soared above and the heron sitting in the lake. We enjoyed walking around the area and had an exceptional meal at the Druid Inn. We'll definitely be back!

Located in the stunning and remote 'Artists Valley' (with Beavers) this charming Self Contained Space is in a 75 acre conservation and permaculture site. With unparalleled views, an ideal base for walking, enjoying nature and rural family retreats.
Further update due to the current health crisis - 23rd March 2020 We have received notification today from our local council that given the unprecedented surge in tourism to the area, they are asking that we curb ‘holidaymakers’ coming into our community at this time. This is a broad measure through the County to slow the spread of the virus and ensure that our local NHS services are not swamped by folk leaving the cities. The volume of 'temporary' registrations with GP's and local hospitals is risking peoples lives in this rural area :0( I am so sorry for all the reservations we have had to cancel as I know that you were really looking forward to your holidays with us! We will however be offering a small handful of LONG TERM retreats (2 weeks minimum) in our accommodations. We will have firm guidelines around anyone staying here to self-isolate longer term to protect our local community. This will mean NO day trips out (other than enjoying walks, paddling and fires from the cottage) We are coordinating shopping so that one designated person does that and will 'decontaminate' on return to site. Please get in touch if that may be of interest to you and you wish to discuss this in more detail. We send our very warmest wishes at this challenging time and hope that you and yours stay strong, eat well, get plenty of rest and keep smiling! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coronavirus Considerations Updated 19 March 2020 What interesting times As we find ourselves faced with the current challenges surrounding the spread of the virus, there are understandable concerns about travel and contact with others. Although many hosts may be negatively impacted, this project is a perfect place to 'self-isolate' if that's what folk are after - as there is so much space here, hardly any people – (who can easily be avoided if that is your preference) and Blaeneinion is waaay more beautiful than being ‘stuck’ nearly anywhere else! I anticipate that folk will choose to holiday in the UK rather than in Europe this year and will be discerning about how to do that safely. We are one of the few places where folk can come and be assured of a holiday in nature with lots to do and without any crowds! We are keeping a close eye on recommendations from the WHO and wanted to reassure our guests of the precautionary measures that we are taking at this time. What we are doing…… Currently our family and long term volunteers are well and healthy. We have taken the decision to continue hosting, working and laughing - and we all look forward to spending as much time as possible in the gardens this Spring Everyone at Blaeneinion is avoiding ANY travelling and will be here at all times other than one person who will shop for essentials only when absolutely necessary at very anti-social hours! We aim to have all groceries and materials delivered through the post or by delivery services to spare contact with others and mitigate any risk or additional strain on the NHS of more patients at this difficult time. Should anyone on site become unwell, we have measures to isolate them for sleeping and living – and they would have no contact at all with guests and only distanced essential contact with others on site. Our accommodations will be kept fastidiously clean and all the team will be washing hands (and accommodation) in antibacterial cleaner frequently. Hugs and handshakes are off the menu for the time being, and when guests arrive, I would be happy to point out the interesting bits on site (at a reasonable distance) and make sure that folk are comfortable and know how everything works in the Cottages. We have produced laminated guides on how to use all equipment on site. All bed linens, towels and fabrics will be washed at a minimum of 60 degrees. Our team have been briefed that DEEP cleaning of the cottages is essential right now and we have purchased specialised sanitising cleaners for all surfaces. In particular, door and window handles, switches, remote controls and communal areas will receive special attention. Anti-bacterial hand soap and sanitising sprays will be available in all Cottages for guests to use as well What you can do……. If you are feeling at all unwell or have recently been in contact with someone who is, please be responsible and let us know. Try to bring as much of your essential supplies with you when you arrive – this will limit the need to go shopping and minimise contact with others in confined spaces protecting you, us and our local community. Please DO NOT come to us on public transport for the time being. This is an idyllic and SAFE retreat! Let’s all keep it that way. Ideally, pack everything you need for your holiday into you OWN car, drive directly to us and please limit any stops en route and social or public visits off site whilst you are here. You can still visit beaches, climb mountains, go on amazing walks, use the kayaks and enjoy the gardens and produce…. Your children can safely play away from others on the swings, cuddle the animals, make fires outdoors and go paddling….. If you do need to shop for supplies or make essential visits, please be mindful to protect our local community and use the hand sanitisers provided and observe social distancing. WE DO NOT WANT YOU BRINGING THE VIRUS BACK TO US! xxx Please observe sensible measures around hand washing and hygiene when on site to minimise transferring the virus to others if you are carrying it unknowingly (we will provide soap or please feel free to bring your own) Should you prefer to bring your own bedding and towels, we would welcome that and would not be offended (and any toilet roll, pasta and rice would be a bonus too! ) Please be mindful of social distancing and shaking hands. In addition, it may be prudent to communicate as much as possible through the message thread online instead of popping by for things… we are really happy to help and will make sure you have what you need x As a courtesy to other guests, please make sure that you wash all your dishes, cutlery and utensils in HOT soapy water. All that being said – LIFE must and will go on and there is so much to be joyful about and thankful for! Lets all make sure we stay healthy, eat well, get plenty of rest and have a lovely time! Smiling, caring, compassion and joy is very good for the heart and immune system too xxx For folk choosing a longer term stay to avoid the mayhem – there are opportunities to engage with the activities on site, learning about green building, conservation and vegetable growing. Warmest wishes form the team - we hope to see you (safely) soon! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are happy to visit respectfully and abide by these guidelines, read on; This cosy Cottage is centrally heated with radiators which are on constantly (please let us know if you are too warm!), is well insulated and gets lovely and homely. There is also a heater in the bathroom :) Upstairs, there is a very large bedroom than can sleep up to 5 (very good!) friends or a young family but is better suited to couples. In the bedroom there is a hand basin with hot running water, a wardrobe and chest of drawers for you to use. The double bed has an electric blanket and there is a TV (which you can chose to completely ignore!) with freesat channels and a DVD player. Wifi is available in the beautiful Breakfast Room next door - and there is an (moody!) ethernet connection upstairs in the Cottage itself (please bring a laptop with an Ethernet port) but there is a good Wifi signal in both the Gazebo and the Breakfast room. Our connection here at the end of the Valley can on occasion, be temperamental - so just in case, best not to rely on it for life and death situations... but it is normally more than adequate to check emails, download films and make internet video calls. We hope that you will be so busy enjoying the stunning natural landscape that you may forget the internet - just for a moment xxx ;) There is no washing machine in the Cottage, but for those on longer stays (5 days or more), please ask at the main house, and we would be happy to help - £10 for a service wash and dry x The double bed is made up with fresh linens for each stay and extra blankets are supplied in abundance. Linens and towels will be changed once a week for folk on longer stays. If you require additional bedding, sheets and pillowcases etc (for larger groups using the extra sofa bed etc.), we are happy to do so (although they will most likely not match at all!) for a laundry fee of £6 per person. Although there is no open fire in Narnia itself, directly opposite the South facing door is a stunning octagonal glass Gazebo, with a comfy sofa and wood- burning stove - you would have sole use of the Gazebo when you book Narnia! 10 metres from your door, it is a gorgeous space to sit and read, do your emails, share bottle of wine, muse over a jigsaw, knit something or chat indoors.... but outdoors at the same time ;) ...................and it really does get toasty in there in winter with the fire going! - we can provide you with some nice dry wood - please ask for details. It is an amazing place to be in crazy weather! - right in the middle of it, yet warm and dry all at once :) Please note that although the Gazebo is lovely, it is an outdoor structure and the floor can get damp after heavy rain (but the sofa stays dry!) and although we do suck up spider webs regularly, there will always be a few :) The Gazebo is supplied with some dry firewood but we charge £10 per barrow load if you need more. In addition to exploring the whole Permaculture and Conservation site, you would also be able to make the most of our new 'Breakfast Room' - a 10 metre Conservatory with glass on 3 sides, tables and chairs to sit at and comfy sofas at the other end. This gorgeous space is for use by everyone at Blaeneinion and is perfect to relax in or check emails on wetter days - please see the photos :) There are lots of plants, a stereo system, some childrens toys (wooden train set has been a big hit!) jigsaws, a piano and a growing and eclectic mixture of books to enjoy. It is a great spot to enjoy looking out at the stars in the evening or enjoying a glass of wine after a long days walking and exploring :) The breakfast room is super-hot on Summer days and comfortably warmed by even the merest sunshine even in Winter.... the stone wall internally retains heat like a big storage heater well into the evenings. Please ask if you would like eggs or fresh produce produced on site (chickens lay much less in Winter though x) For young families -please let us know if need to borrow our travel cot :) Please note that the £7 per night surcharge for extra guests also applies however small the people are, so BABIES AND TODDLERS ARE COUNTED AS AN EXTRA GUEST. Over the past few years we have found that families with young children tend to use more heating and hot water, need travel cots and often more cleaning x We love hosting children so have remarkable facilities for young families - toys, instruments and games, super gentle and friendly animals, a fire pit for toasting marshmallows, kayaks and food that can be foraged on site! ... to make all this possible and enable inspiring and memorable family holidays, all we ask is a small surcharge of £7 per night per person to cover costs. PLEASE ENTER 'INFANTS' as 'CHILDREN OVER 2' in the booking process to make sure it all goes through correctly (I am in an ongoing discussion with Airbnb about all this) It is uncomfortable for us and for you if I to have to ask guests for a surcharge for their little one after a booking request is made :0( Lets all continue making this place special for folk of all ages!
Our neighbourhood is very quiet, secluded and tranquil. The air is clean, you can see the stars and we never hear sirens!
  • Lovely place, the hosts hospitality is brilliant with great communication and a lovely welcome guide with reccomendations of the local area. There are two towns in driving distance which arent very big, however if its a calm, idylic senic holiday you want then this place is great.

    Maisy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing spot and lovely project, even in the driving wind and rain! No beavers sighted, interesting to learn more about them and see their work. Best of luck to Sharon and team for the year ahead, hopefully storms are behind us now...and this place is a perfect escape for 'social distancing' if that's what you're after!

    Charlotte2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Narnia . The cottage was lovely with the added bonus of the outside ‘ hut’ area with a couple of sofas a wood burner and star gazing galore! The grounds are wonderful and the animals Thank you Sharon

    Zoe2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fab, quirky cottage in great location

    Kate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal location to get away from it all, so nice to go off grid and wander around the hills and woods (even in winter). Lovely food on site, but worth getting some basics first. You won't find many better hosts than Sharon !

    Peter2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an experience that gives inspiration and hope. You need to visit .The Narnia cottage at Blaeneinion was a complete delight. The cottage itself is very cosy and feel so comfortable .The fact that it is set in a wonderful permaculture success story is as magical as Narnia. Sharon is a delightful funny and inspiring host who has created a wonderland . The bonus on top of it all was food foraged from a garden and eaten in February. I was amazed and delighted by it all.

    Carole2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can I say that hasn't already been said?! If you don't want your energy or happiness levels topped up then don't come!! We were only able to stay of a few nights but we'll definitely be back for longer in the summer. The location is amazing.....oh so that's why it's called Artists Valley!! It's unbelievably beautiful and we're from North Wales which, as everyone knows, is the home of beauty (!) but this place gives us a run for our money!! Narnia is a gorgeous, comfy and warm cottage with everything you need to make you comfortable...including fabulous cat cuddles from the feline fun patrol!! If you're into photography or art, all things eco, animals or just chillaxing, then this is for you! If not, than go and find a noisy, busy, polluted city to go and get stressed out in cus this place aint for you! Peace out kids!

    Fiona2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, peaceful, stunning location! Sharon makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive; the drive up the lane is quite scary but it is definitely worth it. We stayed in Narnia which is a cosy little cottage with everything you need, such a calming environment with chickens and geese roaming around and the cockerels wake up call in the mornings made me smile before I even opened my eyes. Lovely walks and views which you can just lose yourself in. Seeing the Beavers in their natural habitat was heart warming.

Catch the afternoon sun inside, and on the little private terrace adjoining this cosy space. A flower-filled shared walled garden is equally welcoming, while inside, exposed-stone wall accents meet contemporary comforts like a double-headed shower.
The apartment is set on the first floor of a rambling old historical building with lots of quirky features and different use spaces. The apartment is very secluded within the building and offers you open plan stylish living, fully equipped kitchen and en-suite, with direct access into the shared walled garden.
Quay street leads to the estuary and quayside, and is just across the road from the newly opened Cardigan Castle & grounds. Attend the weekly music and poetry events in the Cellar Bar next door, with theatres, pubs, and restaurants only steps away.
  • A great stay in lovely accommodation, close to everything, we had a great weekend and will be back

    Tim2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Garden Room provided us with a really comfortable 4 night stay in Cardigan. There is a large combined bed / living / dining room, which is fine for a couple on a short stay. The separate kitchen is extremely well equipped and the bathroom incorporates a terrific shower. On a cold, stormy late February weekend, the room was nicely warm. It had a separate door leading onto a garden area with bench, which would be lovely in warmer weather. Penny was really helpful and available. There is a low cost public car park two minutes walk away, with shops, restaurants and a three-screen independent cinema all within a few minutes walk. We had a great trip. Recommended.

    Neil2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Penny’s place was great for a relaxing get away over Valentine’s Day. We had everything we needed. Comfortable bed. Great cooking facilities and an amazing shower. Right in the centre of the town with easy access to local pubs and restaurants. Penny was always on hand for questions and even let us use her parking space for the few days we were there. The radiator in the bathroom did leak but that was sorted super quick and with no disruption for our days plans. Thanks penny. We will be back again!

    Brittany2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • New favourite place! Will be coming back here many time over for sure! Brilliant location, so quiet! The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed and more!

    Ash2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Certainly in my top 5 of places I’ve stayed at through Airbnb. Penny was a brilliant host, the apartment is modern and clean throughout. Location is brilliant for everything you need. Would 100% recommend

  • A lovely bright clean space in the center of town with a parking space down the road and a friendly and helpful host. We had a great stay and would book again if we're ever up that way.

  • A beautifully styled spacious apartment with everything you need. It is on the first floor up some stairs to the back of the building and has a cosy seating area outside. The bed is very comfortable, a large shower with a double head and a well equipped kitchen with a Cafetiere. The apartment is right next to the Cellar Bar in the centre of Cardigan but we didn't hear any noise even though there was live music on Saturday night. Cardigan itself has loads of places to eat - Pizza Tipi was our favourite for a relaxed atmosphere (only open the summer months) and Crwst for breakfast. Penny very welcoming and has put a useful blackboard at the entrance to the building with suggestions of where to eat and visit. A great base for exploring a gorgeous part of Wales.

  • We had a brilliant week in Cardigan! Flat was exactly as described, clean and perfectly equipped! The area was lovely and quiet with plenty of people about to create a community atmosphere. The flat also felt safe and secure as two young, female travellers and the garden area provided a secluded spot to relax. Would definitely recommend! Penny was extremely helpful and happy to show us top spots for walks and meals out (We’d definitely recommend the coastal walk from Llangrannog to Ynys Lochtyn and the food in El Salsa) and was the perfect host! 😊

Longbarn Cottage One is a barn conversion with exposed beams on our smallholding. In a quiet location in the Carmarthenshire countryside. It is one of two cottages converted from our former stables. The other cottage, Longbarn Dairy End, is also available on Airbnb, it sleeps four people in one double and one twin bedroom. Please note we charge one price all year, with no extra charges for cleaning or heating.
A great place for a relaxing break away from it all. We are about 40 minutes from the Breacon Beacons National Park. The nearest seaside places are the colourful harbour town Aberaeron, Newquay famed for its dolphins and Aberystwyth. The market town of Carmarthen is about one hour away. Lampeter, Llandelio and Llandovery are the nearest towns. Pumsaint village has a pub and a goldmine both open to visiters! Lots of nice walks and biking with in easy distance. Birdwatch from the balcony while enjoying the peace and quiet. Usual farmyard noises, sheep, tractors etc to be expected!
The cottage is surrounded by open countryside. The fields are usually home to sheep, and lambs in season. They wander onto and sometimes sleep on the track so you will need to be aware of them when using the track. If you like bird watching there are plenty to see from red kites to robins! Bring your binos. We also have lots of wildflowers, spring is the best hundreds of primroses and bluebells. Lots of daffodils too! Not wild flowers I know but from mid March onwards Wales is daff heaven! Star watching is recommended. On a clear night, turn off the lights and sit on the balcony to enjoy the night sky. Put the Night Sky ap on your phone or tablet to help you identify the stars and planets. We live across the farmyard from the cottage, our nearest neighbours are half a mile away down the track. Lots of guests have asked us where they can eat around here the nearest places are:- Dolaucothi Arms, Pumsaint SA19 8UW Brunant Arms, Caio SA19 8RD Tafarn Jem, SA48 8HF on the A482 towards Lampeter.

  • Lovely get away in peaceful quiet rural location -, with thoughtful touches top make your stay fun and special

  • Gillian's place is a clean, warm and comfortable converted barn. It is across the yard from their home on their farm, up a rough farm track. There is a huge bathroom, comfy bed and everything you need to cook a meal from scratch. A beautiful quiet place, but you will need to use a car to get to the shops.

  • Highly recommend this sensational barn! It really does have the wow factor!!!! The character and elegance really does deserve a 10 star rating and the host was more than amazing with the special touches and overly accurate customer service as such!!!! Huge appreciation.

  • We can't say anything more than anyone else has already written, it was better than we hoped it would be, even the rain didn't dampen our spirits and we didn't want to leave the cottage Thanks very much

A brand new eco house with hot tub, perched quite dramatically in the trees, above a stream, just 2 miles from Newquay and half a mile from Cei Bach Beach. It offers a relaxing retreat from the bustle of Newquay yet is in walking distance (by beach when the tide is out, or by road) or a short car ride (approx 5 minutes) or bus journey away. The Wales Coastal Path is a short walk from the house. 2 bedrooms (double + twin) + sofa bed in lounge . 2 bathrooms. Free Wifi. Parking for 2 cars.
  • A lovely setting with birdsong and a babbling stream. Such a lovely house to return to after a day off exploring

    Gareth2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Currently en route home after a fantastic weekend. Loved everything about the house and location. Despite the weather we thoroughly enjoyed hours in the hot tub, walks into New Quay, Cai Beach and exploring Devils Bridge. A must visit if you stay with Michael. On our last evening unfortunately we had a temporary self inflicted power cut however Michael was quick to respond to our message all being very late in the evening. We would highly recommend staying! Christina & Alex

  • This is an incredible place to stay, both indoors and outdoors. It has been designed brilliantly. Despite being February, we always felt warm and cozy, even without the underfloor heating on. The showers were fabulous and had an abundance of hot water. Kitchen well equipped and well thought out. The hot tub was fantastic and we used it every night under the stars. The location is great too and only 5 minutes from New Quay and about 15 minute walk with two children to the coast.

    Rach2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • You must book this, it does not dissapoint. The whole house is beautiful, outside is a beautiful stream along with the hot tub. Perfect to relax after walking , great location not far too get to where you want to go. A place to re visit.

    Gemma2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time in Michaels house. It was very clean, had everything we needed and was a good space for afew days away. The outside space is the cherry on the cake, secluded & peaceful. We enjoyed the hot tub and I can imagine in the summer (we went January) you could spend all day on the terrace by the stream. Michael was super quick to respond to a query I sent and the house had lots of info on local things to do. We loved the eco friendly aspects of the house too and enjoyed looked through the book of how the property was built. If we ever return to the area we would re-book Michaels house without a doubt

    Nicola2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, with an amazing host and with an entire file box full of information about the local area

  • A wonderful place to stay. Very pretty little cottage with a log burner and a stove in the kitchen making it very cosy. The dogs loved curling up in front of the stove after a long walk. The enclosed garden area was brilliant for just letting the dogs out, a real bonus. Lovely family and excellent host with nothing that was too much trouble. Very highly recommend.

A beautifully light, compact room with your own private entrance, brand new bathroom and breakfast facilities. The house is situated in an extremely peaceful and picturesque part of Ceredigion. As we are in a rural location, mobile phone signal is limited and WiFi can be intermittent. We back on to local woods with miles and miles of truly stunning walking options. Aberystwyth is 10 miles away with local pubs and facilities around 5 miles away.
A truly peaceful place to spend a few days with the benefit of Aberystwyth being easily accessible. The ability to walk from our doorstep in every direction and spend the day in the most stunning countryside.
  • Beautifully finished accommodation, very private and situated in a magical spot that's perfect for walking and cycling.
