  • KJ and Emily's place was so beautiful! Excellent hosts! Great location, private, spacious, clean, and fun! The sound system was AMAZING! the hue lighting was so lovely. The hot tub is something we didn't get around to using this time around but we'll definitely be back again soon!! Thank you so much for everything!

    Natalie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Xavier Acres was an incredible place! KJ and Emily were great hosts, easily accessible, and answered any questions we had. The sound system in the house was awesome, and the hiking was out of this world. The hot tub with a view was a great way to relax!

    Zach2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I do not have enough words to express how wonderful our experience at KJ & Emily’s home was. The house is unbelievable, plenty of room for my group of 18. They have great amenities that they encourage you to use (including an amazing set of musical instruments that we did live karaoke with!) an incredible kitchen with plenty of supplies and tools, and a smart house-esque setup that allows you to control lights and music from your phone (we couldn’t get enough of the Hue lighting system!) we got a ton of use out of the hot tub that overlooks a beautiful Mountain View and the BBQ (even in the winter!). But what really sets our stay apart is the kindness of our hosts. Kj and Emily met me and my fiends to do a walkthrough of the home to make sure we knew how to work everything. KJ was my point of contact throughout the weekend and he was so quick to answer any of my questions which really put us at ease. If you’re hesitating to book this house, I’m here to tell you to do it! You will not regret it! Thanks KJ and Emily!! We hope to come back this summer!!

  • Beautiful home, nestled in the mountains, and the view does not disappoint! Great for a group over a long weekend, with the hot tub, fire places, and sound system being huge bonus points. We were there for our wedding weekend, and it was great to have such a welcoming space for our family to unwind after all the festivities.

    Joe2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This house is awesome! Comfortably slept the 16 of us, and the hot tub/deck views are unreal. Highly recommend for large groups in the Hudson Valley!

    Glen2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had an absolutely amazing time at KJ and Emily’s! The pictures posted simply do not to the property justice. The view is breathtakingly beautiful and the surrounding area is peaceful and perfect for a weekend getaway with family or friends. Communication with KJ was so easy and he greeted me and my friends with such kindness and excitement for us. KJ and Emily really care about their guests having a wonderful experience and that is what separates them from any other AirBNB experience I have had in the past. My friends and I are already talking about booking again next summer!

Tiny 650 sf cabin Within 15 miles of West Point and Woodbury Commons Beaver Dam Lake usage for fishing and boating. Many nearby hiking trails. Walking distance to NYC train station. Within 8 mile drive to Newburgh waterfront on Hudson River.
Everything about this cabin is small. This includes downstairs bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. It’s not a cream puff, but it has its own charm.
Rural development is good for walking, and biking. Small park on dead end road opposite cabin.
  • Great place - as described charming little cabin. I would definitely rent again!

  • My friend and I enjoyed such a wonderful stay at this charming cabin, and we credit Lou's exceptional hospitality for much of our experience. As a host, Lou was incredibly responsive and did all within his power to ensure that we had a positive experience; he went above and beyond the call of host duty, even if it meant going out of his way! As for the cabin, the views and fresh air were incredible and the house was spotless and perfectly simple, just what we needed for a long weekend outside the city.

    Kimiko2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lou is such a nice host. He showed us the cabin very thoroughly when we arrived and prepared us a nice cabin with coffee, tea, clean towels and even toothbrushes and floss. The cabin is small, charming and cozy. The sun room was very bright and warm, perfect for having breakfast. Surrounded by beautiful scenery but not isolated, we felt very comfortable. We have all we need to enjoy a weekend getaway. Thanks Lou for sharing your home. We will definitively return in the future.

    Yannick2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lou is an exceptional host. This space is sparkling clean. Very warm and cozy with a rustic feel. Nearby stores and hiking. Will absolutely stay again.

  • This place is awesome and we highly recommended choosing these hosts! They offer more than advertised and are so helpful & hospitable. The pool looked amazing, the space was very private, we had everything we needed and more.

  • Penny and Chris have a lovely home in a beautiful area of Orange County NY. The bnb is located in a separate area of their house - it is spacious, the beds are comfy, and we loved the hunting-lodge feeling of the living room/bar area. Penny and Chris are super generous, they keep beer and wine stocked in the fridge, and snacky treats available at the bar! The pool is beautiful, but unfortunately it was a bit too cold to appreciate in early May. But I bet it would be quite lovely on those hot NY summer days. Their dog "Bear" is a real sweetheart too.

  • Chris and Penny made our first Airbnb experience a remarkable one. They have set the standard for our next reservations. Just to let everyone else know, that Chris and Penny have an exceptional clean house and they were very accommodating. If we are ever back in the area, they will be the first place we look to make our reservations again.

    Ricky2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Penny were very friendly and welcoming hosts, and their space was clean, tidy, and well-provisioned for our stay. They checked in with us a few times during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed, and I appreciated that. The den/living area has a lot of hunting-related decor, and we found it to be a cozy place to relax. The furniture was well-broken in and comfy for lounging. The beds afforded us good and comfortable sleep, and we appreciated having the futon mattress and extra bedding for the third member of our group.

    Eric2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Penny are warm and friendly hosts. They responded instantly every time I sent them a note. They were gracious when our arrival time got pushed back. They came out to meet us when we drove up their driveway, and made us feel immediately at home. Our 6-year-old was exhausted, but felt better once she met their small dog, Bear, who loves to be petted, but never barked and stayed contentedly in Penny's arms. The fish in the fish tank were a real hit with her too. We appreciated the two large bedrooms, with comfortable beds and beautiful wood floors. We also had the use of a comfy big sitting area, with a large TV, and an abundant supply of fruit, snacks and treats. There were even bagels, cream cheese, and danish for breakfast. The fridge was kindly stocked with bottled water and other drinks for the end of a long day. After a long day of driving, it was a wonderful cozy oasis. Their home is in an area of large multi-acre lots, with tall trees and appealing landscaping. There was hardly any traffic, and they have a large list of area restaurants. We chose the Irish pub about 2 miles away, which had delicious Manhattan clam chowder, and plenty of great entrees and sandwiches. Our part of the house had its own entrance, and after a pleasant conversation with the hosts, we had complete privacy. We didn't need the rainbow in the evening sky to let us know we'd found an excellent place to stay, but it was a nice touch!!!

  • Chris and Penny were incredible hosts--very accommodating and helpful. The place was very homey and comfortable, and we enjoyed our interactions with the hosts.

  • Check in was easy and Mika was kind and responsive to our questions. The home is comfortable and spacious while still feeling cozy for our party of seven. The outside deck was a nice space to take in the incredible views of the fall foliage and rolling scenery. I can imagine that when the lake is filled once more it will only add to the magnificent views. The views out front are also lovely. I would recommend to friends and it is a good value for the amount of space provided. Looking forward to returning next year.

  • Great place to relax and rewind. The swimming pool and wooden hot tub are amazing. Nice neighbor. Good communication with the host over text message. Many activities like going on trails, visiting museums, farms, wineries, parks and boating activities once the lake is restored. Overall a great value.

Private bedroom and bathroom in beautiful town home. I mostly live on the main floor with occasional use of the loft if I have to print something. Bright, airy, open concept, vaulted ceilings, skylight. Just beautiful! Guests share kitchen, laundry, deck, living room. There's a pool in the complex. The unit is very quiet, private, and surrounded by nature, trees and shrubs. It's an oasis! 10 minutes from Mount Saint Mary College, 15 mins from Woodbury Commons and only 12.5 miles from West Point!
Quiet, beautiful community with pool. Very close to restaurants, grocery stores, hiking, the Woodbury Common outlet stores, close to I-84, the NYS Thruway, Newburgh Waterfront, Mount Saint Mary College, and West Point.
It is a beautiful, wooded, well maintained complex. Most of the people who live here have lived here for 10-30 years. It is serene, safe, quiet, and peaceful.
  • Second time around staying with Kerry. She offers a clean and cozy environment with plenty of privacy. It’s also located in a very safe and beautiful residential neighborhood. She’s an amazing host. You won’t regret booking with her.

  • Kerry’s place was very clean and comfortable just what I needed for the few days I was in town. She is an excellent host and i highly recommend her.

  • Very nice and pleasant short stay. Kerry has her home neat and nicely decorated. She is also a very nice and genuine person. I would definitely stay there if I’m ever in the neighborhood and given the chance. Thank you Kerry for your wonderful hospitality. I truly appreciate it.

    Jonathan2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • It delighted us to stay in this comfortable, quiet, private bedroom with our own bathroom. We needed a place that provided easy, quick access to West Point and Kerry’s wooded oasis filled the bill perfectly. During our four-day stay, we traveled quickly and easily to and from the Academy each day. We had complete access to the kitchen, and the nearby stores, eateries, and coffee shop provided everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant Kerry recommended. Our first Airbnb experience provided a fantastic value, exactly as advertised.

    Michael2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kerry’s place is absolutely impeccable. Decorated tastefully with personal touches makes it feel like home away from home. Kerry made sure there was plenty of room for us to settle in the kitchen and the house overall. With ample linens and towels, staying at Kerry’s never felt short of staying at home. Kerry goes the extra mile and will make sure you are comfortable. Her recommendations in the area were amazing and the place is equally comfortable for a day in to binge watch or catch up on shows. We ended up extending our stay and were lucky enough that Kerry had the capacity and welcomed us to stay another week last minute - which we are super grateful for! :) Truly an amazing experience and will recommend to anyone thinking of visiting the vicinity.

    Jalees2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kerry’s place was an amazing and very comfortable experience. It truly felt like home. We felt like friends/family, and there was everything to make our stay smooth and worry-free. It was very clean, and their dog is the best friend to have around! Along with the indisputable favorite, Kerry and Rob are also amazing to talk to and get to know. Highly recommend!

    Jalees2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kerry is a fantastic host and the bedroom provides a ton of privacy. Her house is so clean and well decorated and really makes you feel at home. She is extremely considerate and will go out of her way to make sure you have everything you may need. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a place to stay.

    Gillian2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kerry was very helpful in giving us tips and ideas for things to do/places to go in the area. The bedroom and bathroom were beautiful, pristine and had lots of nice touches including water, snacks, coffee and tea. Absolutely loved the patio and meeting Poco!! Would highly recommend staying at Kerry’s! She’s very communicative. Her home is great place to stay at if you want to explore neat nearby towns such as cold springs and beacon, visit local breweries and wineries, or go on some great hikes!

  • Nelson’s place was super clean and marvelous. It was a perfect place for getaway. Nelson welcomed us really gracefully and didn’t give us a chance to complain about anything. The place was is super cool (Specially the game room) PLUS POINT FOR THE HOT TUB. He even gave us the local tips for the restaurant. I wouldn’t hesitate to book his place.

    Afiya Ibnath2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The road was a little bumpy getting there but totally worth the view at the end. The house is spacious and the amenities were pristine. There was lots of space for my family to settle into and had a very cozy home feel. It has everything we needed and more. Nelson was extremely helpful and patient as he answered all my questions in a timely manner. You definitely get a sense of security and care in the way he treats his guests. Looking forward to spending more time there soon.

  • Had a great stay at Kim's place, I would definitely come back!

    Daniela2019-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's place is a great value and a solid place to stay before/after using the airport. Be ready though, you're highly integrated into the household and won't really have any privacy. If you're the kind of person who's down for that kind of immersion, then definitely stay with Kim. If you're looking for a quiet isolated place, I then I'd recommend somewhere else. It worked well for me because I enjoy sharing space and peeking into people's shtick.

    Jonathan2019-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was super friendly and her daughter was so cute and friendly. Very very very convenient if flying from or to Stewart International Airport. Would stay again if ever travelling through SWF

    Maddie2019-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kim is a great host and her property is very conveniently located for people departing from or arriving at Stewart Airport. She was very kind and dropped me off to the airport in the morning, and also asked me to join her family for dinner while I was there. I'd definitely recommend her place!

We are located 1,000 feet up in the Hudson Highlands with loads of hiking options (there is a 55 foot waterfall 1 mile away). • This was definitely the best Air BnB experience I’ve ever had! We received outstanding hospitality from Julia. She made sure we were comfortable with everything at check-in. The room was spacious and the beds were super comfy. It was the perfect place for my boyfriend and me to have a relaxing Valentine’s weekend. Her muffins and cookies were absolutely delicious too! She was very accommodating with us needing to stay a little late when my ride to the airport fell through. We will definitely be returning to stay here! Thanks Julia!!

  • You will not regret your stay here. Amazing muffins. Very clean. Big bath. Studio suite with kitchen. When do I stop? Julia is great!

    Adam2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Julia is a great host and has a wonderful place to stay a weekend to relax. I enjoyed every moment of my stay at her loft. She is very welcoming and greeted us to show us around. Location was nice and quiet. The loft gave us enough privacy to relax and enjoy unwind for the weekend. Everything was nice and clean and had a very cozy atmosphere feel. Enjoyed the hot tub the very first night. The morning muffins were delicious and a great way to start the morning. Julia’s recommendations were good especially the restaurant to go out to eat, delicious Indian food. We loved our stay there wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed a couple more days of relaxation.

    Anthony2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is a wonderful place to stay. My son and i stayed while we were visiting West Point and attending a sports camp. Julia is an amazing hostess! The beds are comfy, the bathroom is great and the muffins in the morning are an extra special treat. It is a fabulous place and when we are back up in the NY area , we will stay here!

    Bonnie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was a magnificent host. She was able to provide us with complete privacy while being readily available by responding to our text messages quickly. The Loft is a large beautiful space with really comfortable beds and an amazingly large and fully stocked bathroom. The large walk-in closet was a great asset as we were able to put all our things away and keep the room free of clutter during our stay. The kitchenette, including a refrigerator, microwave, Kureg machine, sink, and electric tea kettle was just enough for our needs. The Loft is attached to the main house where Julia is ready to address any need, but has a separate entrance. We were able to play music rather loudly, for we couldn’t hear anything in the main house, and they couldn’t hear us. Storm King is literally a two minute drive away, but unfortunately it was closed for the winter. A five minute drive leads you to all the shopping you might need for your stay, including a slew of excellent restaurants—Citrus Indian and Thai was legit. Fresh, delicious, baked muffins awaited us at the door each morning. I look forward to staying at the Loft again.

    Brian2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was an awesome host. She met me at the door and met her husband on the way up to the room. The place was great, very clean and everything you need. She communicated with me the whole time and always asked if I needed anything. The cookies and muffins were so delicious. I will definitely be back when I go to West Point for another hunt. I highly recommend Julia’s AirBnB.

Cornwall NY was the first town settled by Henry Hudson and he was said to have noted "this looks like a fine place to settle" after sailing up the river. In the late 1800s ,Cornwall became a summer resort because of the natural beauty of the river, its mountain vistas, scenic trails, fresh country air and convenience to New York City via riverboat or railroad. Following that, Cornwall took on another personality – a health retreat. Until the early 20th century, city folk flocked to the Hudson Valley to experience the therapeutic powers they believed it to hold. The mountains, fresh air and evergreen forests were thought to offer the perfect conditions for good health and they were not far from the city. Today, people flock to Cornwall for the nearby world class art ( Storm King Art Center and Dia: Beacon), premium shopping ( Woodbury Commons Outlets), farm to table local restaurant scene, West Point, fall foliage, and just to enjoy the hiking, biking and kayaking along the river. Please visit (URL HIDDEN) to see more about our beautiful town.
  • What a wonderful stay! The house is lovely, the bed and bedroom extraordinarily comfortable, the common areas warm and pleasant to relax in, the wine and cheese in the evening and breakfast plentiful and delicious. Monique is a wonderful, thoughtful hostess. We look forward to returning soon.

    Ham2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We spent the weekend at Monique and Micheal’s and it was absolutely incredible! Even with all of the amazing reviews, it still exceeded our expectations. Monique was such a thoughtful and attentive host, making sure everything was perfect. We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and Monique included so many personal touches it’d be difficult to list. The wine and cheese welcome was superb, we had a great time hanging out with Buddy and Lucy (their two adorable dogs), and the breakfasts were filled with fresh and local ingredients. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the home itself is so historic and beautiful it’s a destination unto itself! All in all, I cannot recommend Monique and Michael’s home enough!

    Jake2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended, wonderful experience!

    Julien2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Monique and Michael's lovely historic home was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway upstate. The provided breakfast was delicious and they had great suggestions for lunch and dinner as well as many other activities in the area. Monique and Michael were very thoughtful and made our stay extremely special. We'll be back soon!

    Ross2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Warning: You probably won't want to leave — and you could be setting yourself up for future disappointment with every other Airbnb. It's what we're wondering now. My girlfriend and I booked this for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Not only is the house a living and breathing testament to thoughtful historical restoration, it is cozy, spacious, and a lovely place to sip coffee or spend an evening (by the fire of course). Our room was lovely and the mattress was hands-down the most comfortable mattress we've ever slept on. Monique's home is also the perfect location for exploring Storm King, Dia:Beacon and the surrounding towns. More importantly, Monique redefines what it means to be a host. Her personal touches — like a wine and cheese happy hour upon arrival, a curated list of recommendations and cupcakes to celebrate my birthday — are just a few (of many) examples of her kindness, generosity and warmth. Not to mention, she does a killer continental breakfast! Her husband Michael and their two pups, Buddy and Lucy, are great company, too. We'll definitely be back.

    Nate2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Monique and Michael are incredible hosts! The farmhouse is grand. The interior decorating is amazing! Bed was superior, fireplace in common area inviting, as was the rest of the House. The welcome wine and cheese plus was better than anything at a restaurant as was the morning continental plus breakfast! Would highly recommend and hopefully we will be back! Gary & Joanne

  • Wonderful stay. Hosts were very accommodating. The bed was incredibly comfortable. It was so nice to be able to visit with our Cadet in a home setting.

    Cherie2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The property is better in person than on the website. The beautifully decorated 1800 home is so comfortable and filled with interesting furniture and character throughout. Our room was clean and extra comfortable, a wine and cheese tray with all the fixings to greet us Friday night and a fresh breakfast both mornings to start our day. Monique was very hospitable and so nice to speak with regarding the history of the property and what the area had to offer. Bring your close friends to share this experience in Cornwall NY.

The Caldwell House is located in the heart of the lower Hudson Valley near West Point, Storm King Art Center, Brotherhood Winery and the Woodbury Common. The Storm King Room, named for the nearby Storm King Art Center – 500-acres of landscaped fields, hills, and woodlands recognized as one of the world’s greatest outdoor sculpture gardens – is located on the ground floor level of the Carriage House. Its rustic, yet romantic feel has quickly turned the room into a guest favorite. Most of the original wood and stonework (circa 1803) remains in place – giving the room a feel of a bygone era. An impressive queen-size bed, top-of-the-line mattress, and luxurious bedding will guarantee a blissful sleep. The room has a lingerie chest, a cherry wood framed floor mirror, comfy love seat and a beautiful antique chair as there is ample space for seating throughout the room, and plenty of space to snuggle up in front of the fireplace. Storm King’s spacious bathroom comes complete with a Jacuzzi tub for two, a separate shower, and beautifully appointed fixtures. In the morning, breakfast awaits in the B&B’s Main Dining Room.
Each room at the Caldwell House, which was recently named a Top 25 B&B in the USA, has been professionally inspected and is kept in immaculate condition. While the buildings are historic, all modern conveniences and amenities are available.
The Caldwell House is a beautiful 8 acre property located 60 minutes from NYC. It is very close to the USMA at West Point, Storm King Art Center, Brotherhood Winery, the Woddbury Common, and lots of outdoor activities including hiking trails.
  • You get everything and more from your stay at Caldwell House- beautiful houses and rooms, reusable plastic water bottles, a wine cooler in our room, hair and body soap, slippers, bathrobes, various kits for physical upkeep and more! Three course breakfast was delicious and plentiful as well. Will definitely be coming back again, hopefully to try a different room!

Just 65 miles from New York City, a cozy, artful three-bedroom home on five wooded acres along a babbling brook. A perfect spot to relax and recharge minutes away from Storm King, Woodbury Commons, West Point, hiking, yoga, farms and wedding venues.
With floor to ceiling windows looking out in to the woods from the living room, there's a sense of being right in the middle of nature from morning to sunset. The house, decorated with contemporary art and family antiques, is a great place for couples, friends and families to connect by the fire, over meals and on walks. It's also an ideally quiet and secluded home to work on a project. We're at the end of a private road on a creek. I find that just wandering around near the house is a pleasure. You'll likely to feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city---but without having schlepped very far at all. The house rules are pretty simple: no smoking, no guests not agreed on at time of booking and no parties. The house has three bedrooms---two have a queen size bed, and one has a trundle bed with two twins. In addition we have a new queen size air mattress, one pack n play and one mini crib. There are two large living rooms---one upstairs and one downstairs, with a lounge area and work desk. There's plenty to explore within miles of the house. Blooming Grove is yet to be discovered--it's unpretentious and full of little gems. Many people come to the area because they're attending weddings in the area---if that's you, we're only minutes from Blooming Hill Farm, Brotherhood Winery and Round Hill. You're also only a handful of miles from incredible excursions including the world renown Storm King Arts Center, a beautiful Saturday afternoon brunch and farmer's market at Blooming Hill Farm, premiere outlet shopping at Woodbury Commons, the Body Art Yoga Barn, hiking at Harriman State Park, cycling and more. Nearby destinations include Bear Mountain, the quirky arts village Sugar Loaf, and the town of Beacon, known for its DIA art museum. There is WIFI but there is no TV. There are chairs by the creek for creek watching. Deer, birds and squirrels roam. Several hundred books live here across many genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry and essays. There's also a basket of old New Yorkers and other magazines. A child-friendly house (although not child proofed), we have a collection of children's books and toys, a pack n play and a high chair. For guests I am available any time to answer questions by phone or email. Guests coming from the city can opt to drive, or to take the Metro North to Beacon, where Enterprise Cars can meet you with a rental.
  • Lizzie's cabin in the woods is the perfect getaway. Myself and a few friends spent some time there over New Year's and it was the best retreat from the city. We saw deer in the backyard and made some cozy fires in the wood stove. The entire place is really comfortable. Though the street it's on feels very secluded, it's a quick trip to the grocery store and other shops/restaurants. It's close to loads of great places to hike, too. Highly recommended!

    Jill2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A cute house in the wood. Very rustic and quiet. Working with lizzie was so easy and she was very accommodating. We were in town for a wedding at Brotherhood Winery, and the house was only 3 miles away and perfect for 3 couples. It was a quick trip but really enjoyed our time at the house. Definitely recommend!!!

  • Awesome place in a super secluded location! Love it!

  • This quiet house was located in a very central part of upstate New York, very close to many attractions such as Storm King (15 minutes drive) and Dia Beacon (30 minute drive). Lizzie was very thoughtful in leaving us with a full guide to the house and suggestions for local activities. Our stay was very comfortable and we really appreciated the toddler friendly environment. The fireplace was a nice touch too!

  • Beautiful sweet cottage tucked away from the roads. Cozy space perfect for two!

    Zarah2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie’s cottage is so cute and cozy. The outdoor table and chairs by the grill that’s strung with lights was so peaceful. There are woods to explore (and hiking trails if you have energy) right down the road. We loved the electric heater/fireplace in the living room and the comfy little blankets all around. LOTS of dvds and games and magazines too. A nice 2 days with my kids. Debbie loaned them bikes and they loved riding up and down the ‘block’.

    Cynthia2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, down home, friendly atmosphere

    Lisa2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie is very responsive and a wonderful resource for advice regarding nearby attractions. Beds were very comfortable and there are many hospitable touches throughout the house.

    Christine2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a fantastic time at Debbie’s cottage. The little touches that she added to our experience went above and beyond what we expected. From coffee and doughnuts waiting for us to the flash cards with an adult scavenger hunt (we got 4 by the way), she really blew us away. The only downside is that we didn’t have as much time as we had to hoped to just hang out there or go hiking, as we were in town for a wedding and spent most of our days out of the house. Also, we highly recommend the local winery and the outdoor art museum, Storm King, which is like nothing we have ever seen before.

  • Rose was very communicative and quick to respond to any messages I sent. She even accommodated an earlier check in for us when we arrived to town early. We were in town for a parade which ran directly on this street-we had a great stay. Definitely would book here again!

  • What can I say about this place and Rose that haven't already been said? Needed to book the space with about an hours notice on the day of, and not only was she incredible responsive, she went out of her way to ready the space for us. She was understanding, thoughtful (awesome little amenities) and really, this place speaks for itself. What a great getaway! Just wish my band was on tour longer so I could've stayed an extra day.

The Caldwell House is located in the heart of the lower Hudson Valley near West Point, Storm King Art Center, Brotherhood Winery and the Woodbury Common. Inspired by Dutch colonists’ original name for Storm King Mountain, the Butter Hill Room evokes the region’s history with beautiful 19th century details. This charming room offers a lovely queen-size sleigh bed, love seat, antique English armoire, Empire-style bureau, historic engravings hanging on the walls painted with colors that remind you of the buttercups that line the local fields, and a roomy private en-suite bathroom with a shower.
Each room at the Caldwell House, which was recently named a Top 25 B&B in the USA, has been professionally inspected and is kept in immaculate condition. While the buildings are historic, all modern conveniences and amenities are available.

  • My fiancée and I stayed one night to get away from the city. The house and our room were beautiful and clean, absolutely no complaints. Hot tub/jacuzzi and fireplace in the room were amazing! Dena gave us a great recommendation for dinner and the breakfast she made for us the next morning was delicious. John was a pleasure to talk to during breakfast. The house is also very conveniently close to a lot of great hiking. We had a great time!

    Justin2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Caldwell House in the Butter Hill room. Dena and John are sustainability-minded and extremely accommodating hosts, allowing us to check in a bit early, helping with a special food request that I had, and providing us with biodegradable water bottles that we got to keep. The property is beautiful, and the house is very charming and clean. After visiting the nearby Brotherhood winery, we spent our evening drinking wine and watching fireflies on the front porch. Would highly recommend the Caldwell House for anyone traveling to the area or looking for a quick escape from the city.

  • We loved this apartment in the heart of Cornwall! It was perfect for our stay and loved that it was dog friendly as our dogs come with us everywhere we go. The space is actually much bigger than I had thought it would be. Laurie had cookies and wine waiting for us. She really tried to make our stay as nice as possible. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was big and if you wanted to cook dinner she had everything you needed. It is a great spot for people looking to escape the city and head up to Cornwall. We will be back!

  • This place is adorable and perfect for a quick getaway from the city. The Airbnb is greatly located and was very clean. Laurie is also a very sweet host. She greeted us with fresh baked cookies and I found two mini champagne bottles in the fridge for my birthday!! Overall a great experience and I definitely recommend you stay here!!

    Vanessa2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem was perfectly located near everything we wanted to do in the area on our short stay (Storm King, Motorcycle museum, waterfront dining, new craft beer joint). The apartment was immaculately clean and sweet, with thoughtful touches throughout (variety of tea and coffee available, Prosecco and water in the fridge, freshly-baked cookies, toiletries, good wifi, etc.). Bed is very comfy, lots of hot water, and Laurie epitomizes everything one could want in a host - welcoming, accommodating, knowledgeable, and charming. She suggested Captain Jake's for dinner, and our meal was delicious. Lovely, lovely stay and we'll be back! Thanks so much, Laurie!

    Allison2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie is an amazing host. She went above and beyond and helped me find a kennel for my dog. She also left some yummy cookies for me. The place is perfect for a visit when I go see my cadet at West Point. Cutest town too! I always check this place first when looking. Laurie is wonderful and makes my stay great.

    Jania2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • There is a reason why Laurie is a super host. When I walked in there was a welcome sign for me, 2 bottles of Prosecco in the fridge, fresh and delicious cookies and greenies for our pup as well as a full water bowl. She is so thoughtful and wants you to have the best stay. It’s right down the street from Storm King and many other wonderful places in the area - so a perfect location. We would definitely recommend to others venturing out to Hudson Valley!

  • My girlfriend and I had a great stay at Laurie's place for our anniversary. When I opened the fridge upon arrival there were two small bottles of champagne and a note from Laurie - very classy! The space had everything we needed and was clean and organized. A 15 minute walk takes you to the main drag in Cornwall and there is a lot to do within a short drive in the surrounding area.

  • I had a wonderful time at Peter's place. He was helpful all the time. The house was clean and it was quite around.

  • Our stay at the cottage was great for a long weekend getaway. Peter's cottage is ideal for anyone looking to take it easy outdoors as the backyard features a small creek and great tall trees. The side patio is perfect for grilling while listening to the trees rustle above or you can enjoy the backyard view from the living room's wide windows. Peter was very responsive to all the questions we had as we settled in. While the cottage is easily found on Google Maps, its located a bit off the main road. It's tucked in at the end of a narrow neighborhood road so be mindful of children in the area as you drive in. There are three neighboring homes however privacy and noise were not an issue. In fact, it was pleasant to hear others enjoying the outdoors as we were.

  • Peter was a great host! He even went and bought a Firestick so we could watch Netflix on the TV instead of on our tablets. The place is lovely and very secluded.

  • Peter was great! Super responsive to all my messages. My husband and his work buddy stayed out here while they worked on a construction project. Both guys enjoyed the property.

  • Peters place has a wonderful outdoor space/patio as well as plenty of room on the inside for multiple guests. WiFi was a little slow and hard to reach but Peter did provide a number of dvds for entertaining! The place is super close to a lot of amazing parks and outdoor activities, so the importance of WiFi was minimal. We also had a fabulous dinner at a great nearby restaurant called 208 Grill that has patio seating ! Overall we had a wonderful stay

  • Our stay at Peter's cottage was lovely! The Cottage is just as pictured, the parking is on the side of the Cottage. I mention the parking as we weren't sure if that was Peter's property. Peter answers questions immediately! We got there early and he was more than accommodating. The Cottage could be a Romantic get away or a perfect spot for people wanting to get away and back to nature. There is a large picture window with a view of the woods , a small waterfall and babbling brook. I woke early and enjoyed my coffee just looking out the window! Peter had new towels, new bottle of shampoo, liquid soap, antibacterial soap. He also supplied bottle water which was a nice touch! The patio is very nice. The Cottage is decorated with interesting artwork and the shelves are loaded with literary classics . Peter also has many blue ray dvds and CDs with a wide range of genres . There is also a piano! Thank you Peter, we will see you soon! Kathleen

  • Garin and Clara were kind and welcoming, and their place was cozy and clean. It was the perfect location for trips to both Storm King and Beacon. A lovely weekend getaway.

  • We loved staying with Garin & Clara’s wonderful house. It was a great location in Newburgh, NY that wasn’t to far from West Point where we were able to visit with our son at West Point and see an enjoyably football game. We enjoyed the “Blue Room” and a very clean bathroom with a fun walk-in shower that was at least nine feet by five feet, no curtains needed. However, there could have been better water pressure during showering, it was just right for us and a nice place to visit instead of an over priced hotel. Our plans are set to re-visit on future stays. Thanks for the easy communication and just right directions for checking in for our stay.

  • Very responsible host. Always respond quickly. The room is very historic and clean. The self-checking instruction is detailed and considerate. Their recommendations about local restaurants and trials are also very helpful.

  • Very clean! Very comfortable beds! Great hosts & a fabulous weekend making memories with my sister climbing Storm King Mountain & cruising around in Cornwall! Great find!❤️

  • Garin and Clara’s lovingly restored 200-year-old house is convenient, comfortable, and charming. I stayed in the Blue Room for one night in mid-October, when fall color was at peak. Up two flights of stairs, the room was a good size, had streamlined and antique decor, a wonderfully comfy bed with covers of varying thickness to choose from, and easy access to the newly refurbished bathroom just across the hallway. Sharing the bathroom was no problem. The warmth and welcome of the hosts as well as the other guests was incredible! If you like historic houses with character, you will appreciate this special home in the beautiful Hudson Highlands.

    Emily2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! I stayed in the Blue Room for one night which was comfortable, clean and spacious. Garin explained the third floor bathroom was recently added and it was thoughtfully appointed. I appreciated that toiletries were available as I had left mine at my last stay on my multi-day trip. Their historic home is worth marveling at with its stenciled floors, original windows and inset fireplaces. Garin and Clara were wonderful hosts. Special praise to Garin for helping me search for a pair of sunglasses that I thought I had left behind! Their location is convenient to major historic and cultural sites in the area. I would absolutely stay there again (for longer next time!) and highly recommend their place.
