Living within nature. Moose Mountain Lodge is tucked away in the woods on a sunny lot with great views where wildlife sightings far exceed the occasional car that may pass by on the road. It is not uncommon to wake up to 5-10 deer in the back yard or a moose walking down the road. All this and the center of Greenville, the heart of the Moosehead Lake Region is just 5.5 miles down the road. See below for a complete description.
Moose Mountain Lodge is only 5.5 miles out of town (with sweeping views of Moosehead Lake along the way) but feels like it sits on 1,000 acres. No neighbors in site and daily visits from wildlife (usually deer) makes this a nature lover's dream. The inside of the cabin has a first floor master bedroom with a queen bed. Upstairs you will find another bedroom with a queen bed as well as two single beds in the loft. The couch folds out for additional guests. While there is a wood stove we are no longer permitting guests to use it. Full size appliances, washer and dryer, full bath, and a table that can sit 8 brings many comforts of home here to Greenville while still being in the most beautiful setting Mother Nature has to offer. All new bedding, pillows, towels, and beds in 2020. Both bedrooms will enjoy sunrise views over Prong Pond Mountain. It's not uncommon to wake up to 5 or 6 deer in the driveway or a moose walking down the road. A fire pit in the yard makes a great place to spend those summer and fall evenings with family and friends. Rainy days can be spent playing the variety of board and card games, doing a jigsaw puzzle, or enjoying Dish Network TV and Original Nintendo game console with 500 games. The center of Greenville is just 5.5 miles for shopping and dining. Direct Access to the trail system with snowmobiles is a snap. Big Squaw Mountain is a great inexpensive ski area and just 10 miles from the cabin. Beaver Cove Marina is 1.2 miles away and rents boats by the half day to the week. Come see what living among nature feels like. I promise you wont want to leave.
  • Enchanting lodge, tucked away in the woods. Close proximity to a great ski resort. If you’re looking for a place to get away from it all, this is it!

Nice spot only 80 feet from the waters edge. In our small neighborhood we have a private beach/play/swim area that only or few neighbors share. Hiking, wildlife abound in this area. We do have neighbors, but it is a very quite area. Only 10 minutes from Greenville.
  • A cozy cabin right on the lake. We were winter guests and enjoyed the ability to walk and snow shoe right out the front door. The neighborhood is very nice, with friendly neighbors. It is close enough to Greenville to shop for groceries and/or eat out. The cabin was clean and very well stocked and Pat and Mike were very responsive to our needs. Recommend as a get away to Moosehead Lake without any crowds!

  • The most beautiful views inside or out of Moosehead Lake. The cabin is clean and cozy! Everything you will need or want has been thought of.

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Michael’s camp on the lake. First night there were winds up to 28 mph, and the back deck was the perfect place to watch this and the waves on the lake. Just a a short walk to the lake for some amazing views. Perfect place if your wanting to do some hiking in the area. Plus, the bed was super comfortable.

  • The location of the house is great. In the evening you can admire the sunset from the sofa or from the terrace. When it's cool, wood is used to heat the fireplace. There is a lot to do: marvel at the moose, kayak, hike, swim in the summer ... In autumn, the forests show all their splendor. Everything is very straightforward. We really enjoyed the days there!

    Sandra2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Quick response time. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Located right on Moosehead Lake and minutes away great fishing and hiking. Would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway to a beautiful area of Maine.

  • Wonderful place! The house is comfortable and clean, quiet and serene. Bed is super comfy. We slept like logs! Mike and Pat are responsive and very easy to work with. They were never intrusive, but always responsive. A treasure of a place. Don't miss it.

  • Such a terrific little house. My wife and I and our 15 year old Labrador had a wonderful time. Nice private location with wonderful lake views on a very quiet dead end road. The beach area is an easy walk. We launched our kayaks right in front of the house. The house has just about anything you'd need and most major kitchen items (pots, pans, utensils, etc.) We really enjoyed having our cup of coffee on the deck overlooking the water in the mornings. Very easy check-in/check-out procedures as well. Any questions we had, Mike was very quick to answer. Highly recommended.

  • After spending 9 days in DC back in March, our family was looking forward to a few days of unplugging. The only goals we had this vacation was to hike, wear bug spray and bathing suits all day, and be on the lake or in the water as much as we could. This home helped us achieve those goals! The house was perfect for what we were looking for, and the full size dining table made our lakehouse meals perfect! Waking up each morning, my husband and I would get our mugs and head to the boat ramp and just sit in peace. Listening and watching the loons on Moosehead Lake were breathtaking. When we weren’t on the association beach (by ourselves almost the entire time which was fabulous!) the kids were climbing on rocks and in the water steps away from the house. No one asked to use a screen, except for the sunscreen variety! The canoe on property was great and our family of four (10 and 11 year old kids) utilized it and a rented 2 man kayak to head to Snake Island. The water was crystal clear and so clean on the lake! We also rented a paddle board and wound up extending the rental because it was so much fun! The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and something we made sure to watch every night of our stay. Whether from the beach, the floating dock, a canoe, the boat ramp, or the deck of the house we all seemed to stop in our tracks to take it in. The little trail through Beaver Cove even led us to a Geocaching which is just about the best thing for a 10 year old Boy Scout! Lastly, on our last evening there, heading from a trip to Roach Pond back to the house, we spotted a Mom and baby moose right near the road! We watched them for 20 minutes before they walked off into the forest! It was a perfect end to an amazing Maine trip! We will definitely be back and can not recommend Mike and Pats place enough!

  • Much cleaner and neater then expected. Spent many of nights in my 51 years camping in the Woods of Maine and this place is a great. Went there looking for birds and the hunting was decent. Next trip going to cut holes in the ice right in front of this place and watch for flags from the window.

The house was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen had everything needed. Beds/linens were fine, and towels nice and plentiful.

  • Thank you for sharing your home. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time. We both loved feeding the deers, seeing the clear stars at night, having a fireplace and last but least the hot tub!! We are already thinking of planning our next visit! Thank you again!

    Lauren2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space with gorgeous views. Comfortable bed and clean house. Nice perk was seeing the deer everyday as they loved getting fed

    Susan2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you choose to stay at this property you will be rewarded with comfortable surroundings and an abundance of amenities. The kitchen is stocked with many tools of convenience, just the sorts of things I always hope for, like the crock pot, stock pot, a block of usable knives, cast iron skillets, baking sheets, lots of dish towels, trash bags, dish soap, I could go on. You may go to the store for groceries, but probably not for supplies! And stores were only 8 miles away. The host was extremely prompt in answering my questions, even the ones whose answers were already in the info binder provided. She had very helpful information before and during my stay. The hot tub was ready and waiting every night as the beautiful sun set as a backdrop! How can you go wrong with a fire pit outside and a fireplace inside, and the firewood ready to use? It made for a great space to visit and chat after days full of activities. Extra blankets were needed and available in the downstairs area. There was an abundance of towels and a change of sheets for every bed. All in all we were more than satisfied and I believe you will be too.

    Elaine2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The ledge is such a beautiful home! It was so amazing! Exactly what I needed to relax and reset! Deane was also an amazing host! Very thoughtful and hospitable. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay with such amazing views! The beds were also very comfy!

    Caroline2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous house, and we had a wonderful time staying there. Great kitchen with all the essentials and lots of counter space; there’s a gas grill right out on the deck. The living room is lovely and very comfortable. Plenty of room for 2-6 people. The wraparound porch is great and the hot tub was awesome!! It was lovely to be outside in the evening as the sun went down and the stars came out; you can hear the loons calling from the lake. The view is beautiful!! Best from the small balcony off the master bedroom, but good from both levels. One thing to note is that the master bedroom is a loft. There's a door to close it off from the living room, but it's open to the staircase that goes into the dining room. We enjoyed seeing the deer in the yard every day. The lake is a short drive (abt 5 min). The beach area there is great. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. We met a local Maine guide, Christina, and arranged a sunset “cruise” on her pontoon boat, which was terrific. There is lots to do in the area. We enjoyed hiking Mt. Kineo, and Little and Big Moose mountains. We had a nice meal at Kelly’s Landing, which is right on the harbor. Our only regret was not taking a moose tour. Deanne was a great host. We were welcomed with some goodies, and she was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. I appreciated the personal touches around the house; they really have thought of everything! Highly recommend this place!!

  • Deer feeding in the yard each day!

    Alfred2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • What did we like best about our stay was the fantastic view while soaking in the hot tub. Our host was quick with responses and extremely helpful. The location was great and having the privacy was a plus.

    Donna2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This house is definitely a hidden treasure. The hot tub has a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The location is a bit out of town, but it's still a quick ride. We absolutely loved spending the weekend here, and we are hoping to come back to check out the area during another season 😊

Misty Morning Cottages is directly on Moosehead Lake with amazing views of Mt. Kineo, the Spencer Mountains and much more! Our location is one of the best fishing destinations for both open water and ice fishing seasons because each of our cottages are just steps away from Moosehead Lake!
Cottage six offers a cozy and comfortable, studio-style living space. Everything you need is at your fingertips. This area is outfitted with a double bed, a fully equipped kitchenette and a private bathroom with a standup shower. Our heat source is a thermostatically controlled propane monitor heater.
Moosehead Lake is the largest lake located in one state this side of the Mississippi! During your stay with us we encourage you to explore as much of the 100 sq. mile lake as you possibly can! If you're patient and keep your eyes peeled you're likely to sneak a peek (or a photograph if you're lucky!) of a Moose, Deer, Loons, Bald Eagles and Otters while you're here!
  • Wonderful cabin literally on the water. My husband and I stayed there for a few days in October to get back to our home state and enjoy the foliage, bird hunt, and cook our favorite unhealthy foods. The cabin was very cozy and warm. The bed was comfortable. The stove /oven was brand new and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals. The shower was small and old but it’s a camp and the good water pressure and temperature made up for it. Misty was very welcoming, came right out when we pulled in. She was very flexible about check in, much more so than other AirBnB hosts who require very specific check in times. She even gave us a map of local hiking trails. Otherwise gave us our space ! The cabin is right by the road in the back but you don’t hear any traffic. Really wanted to use the campfire and picnic table but it was raining. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Misty and Joe were great hosts and so easy to talk to. They were very knowledgeable about the area and always offered great advice about hiking and things to see. The cabin was very clean and exactly as advertised.

  • We so enjoyed out 3 nights in #6 - a studio cabin, just big enough for the two of us. Very cozy and private - we were at the end of the row. Loved the view, and sitting out on the deck hearing the ripple of the water. Misty was very vivacious and friendly, and there when we needed her. Love the ducks, too! It was great to explore a different part of Mooshead Lake, the Rockwood area.

  • Joe and Misty’s hospitality was phenomenal!! Great communication and super clean cottage!

  • Our stay at Misty Morning Cottages was well worth the trip. Great hospitality and knowledge of the area and it's wildlife. Cottage 6 is cozy and romantic. Joe and Misty are respectful, helpful to each guest, making it a safe and fun place to stay.

  • The place its outstanding, there is a few cottages there, parking right in front of your cottage. Great view, within minutes from gas station/ convince store, snowmobile rentals and fishing. We didn’t fish but we had a blast snowmobiling. There is hundreds of miles snowmobile trails in the area. The cottage itself has all the necessary items. Joe is great, very friendly and he is happy to explain what’s what in the area. I would definitely recommend this place.

My place is the perfect location for couples, solo adventurers, small families (with kids) or big groups (we also have two other rentals to accommodate really large groups!), and furry friends (with a pet fee).
Landing 1 has a comfy living area with cable TV. We're sure you'll be spending your time in the enclosed porch area viewing the Moose River or Moosehead Lake though! You probably will prefer to cook outside at the fire pit or on the gas grill; but if you must cook inside, the full kitchen includes microwave, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, pots and pans. The 2 bedrooms accommodate 5 people comfortably. There is a 3/4 bathroom.
Moose River in Rockwood is known for its fantastic fishing as is Moosehead Lake - we are the prime location!

Overall couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Beautiful place with wonderful people. 10/10 will stay there again!!

  • Great clean cabin, bed very comfortable, WiFi worked good for being remote area, washer and dryer was a huge plus when staying for a week. The only issue is if you are going for snowmobiling the access trail To the main trail is not the greatest and no information about clubs or trails , or shops where left in the cabin . Other than that a GREAT PLACE .

Welcome to Moosehead Lake and Beaver Cove. Our cottage on the hillside has beach access rights and sunsets over Burnt Jacket Mountain and our local ski area. Upper level living with two bedrooms and a deck with panoramic views of our beautiful region. If you like deer then this cottage will not disappoint with countless deer in the backyard on a daily basis. Beaver Cove has a beach area where you can swim and enjoy the day. A association dock to pick up your family and take day trips
Views views views! This gambrell style lodge has two bedrooms on the second floor with a glass door to see views of our Maine landscape. Additional sleeping on the 1st floor.
Quiet Beaver Cove association. The house is at the end of a dead end road so traffic is limited. We have deer that will eat out of your hand. Though I don't suggest as wildlife can be unpredictable.
  • Great spot to access the trails and the basement/garage is great for taking off your gear after a day of riding.

    Andy2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin in a super secluded spot. Spotlessly clean and well equipped - Vacasa Maine who manage it were very responsive. Perfect place for a quiet family getaway - we loved it. There were only 3 of us so we had lots of room and used the 2 upstairs beds. For those in larger groups some would sleep in the huge downstairs living space - not a problem as there is so much space but worth noting. The dock is an easy walk and a beautiful place to watch the sun set over the lake. Overall a really lovely spot - highly recommended

    Caroline2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at this place! Wonderful location with easy access to the water. Dock is public to a few other homes but very quiet and easily shareable. Kitchen was open and well stocked - great entertaining space and good for larger groups. Loved sitting by the fire pit and grilling out on the deck! Highly recommend!

  • This place exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for our family of four. Lovely views of the lake through the trees and a very private feel. We enjoyed the association beach and the proximity to town. The neighborhood herd of deer and fire pit were a big hit with the kids. Would definitely stay here again!

Travel back in time with this rustic, verticle log cabins on Moosehead Lake water front. The quintessential Maine lake front cabin right out of the 40s, maintained in good order for years to come. Gas range. Gas fireplace and clawfoot tub/shower make ir rustic but very comfortable. A tv with videos only. Separate laundry shed is shared with host. Master and bunk room separated by curtains, 2 bunks beds with a pull out mattresses under each. Queen coach pull out.
You'll love how open and comfortable this camp is. There is a gas fireplace for cool nights. The porch was made for curling up with a good book in rain or shine and a claw foot tub for soaking. Walkway through the trees to the water has a heavy nautical rope installed to assist seniors.
Auclair Lane has other seasonal camps and year round residents.

  • This cute cabin is a page out of the 40's. It was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy a week of warm sunshine as well as rainy day activities. Hosts were quick to address questions/needs while allowing complete privacy. Love the outdoor fireplace and the views from the dock. Great little cabin!

  • Rick & Cheryl’s place is in a perfect location on a quiet corner of Moosehead Lake. The camp is rustic but has everything you need. Sitting on the porch listening to the loons out on the lake at night was the best part. Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful dock and cozy front porch! Cabin is definitely rustic but after a week of already camping having a cabin was a great luxury. Helpful hosts who even accommodated us coming a day early last minute. You can kind of see the water from the porch but when you go down to the dock it’s an unbelievable view. Thank you for a greats stay!

  • I think I can echo just about every good thing I read in all the reviews so far. Dana was an excellent host! We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. This cabin is very nice -- a real 'cottage/camp' with lots of charm. As one reviewer had said, it had plenty room and was quite pleasant to relax in if you were dealing with a rainy day. The spot on the lake is great, with sunshine at various parts of the day, and shade as well. We swam off the dock, kayaked, and enjoyed the outdoor firepit on several nights. Even fired up the free-standing gas flame stove in the living room on some chilly Maine mornings -- great ambience and it kept us cozy and happy. Greenville itself is a nice town with lots to enjoy. We took in an acoustic duo concert at the gazebo one night, did the Katahdin Saturday night dance cruise with a great band and a fun crowd, and enjoyed visiting several of the shops.

    Paul2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great view of the Lake and access to the water. Convenient location and Dana was very helpful and quick to respond to help us plan our trip.

  • We had a fantastic stay! The cabin was great and the location was perfect. Very close to town and the public beach although you can swim right off the dock at the cabin. We really loved the fire pit and the kayaks. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all the cookware and dishes that you need. Plenty of hot water- all 4 of us were able to take showers in a row without running out.

    Heather2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Another perfect trip to Greenville. Lake was unbelievably warm but still refreshing. The cabin has all you need for your stay! Hiked Borestone and little Wilson Falls outside of Monson. Perfect vacation!

    Megan2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Dana’s place is better than described. The cabin is a few feet from the water; Swimming is a few feet away! Kayaks were available. The cabin container all the amenities a guest could ask for! It’s a special place.

  • What an amazing few days! Beautiful cabin with amazing views -- just the peaceful getaway my sister and I needed. The cabin is the perfect size and has everything you need from kitchen supplies, cozy bedrooms, huge windows overlooking the lake, awesome family room & kitchen table, and the best part being outdoors sitting in adirondack chairs overlooking Moosehead Lake -- there wasn't an ounce of stress in my body. Dana was amazing as a host -- top notch communication and ensuring I had the best stay possible. Would recommend 100% and would love to come back.

4 bedrooms, two baths, a fireplaced family room, large deck with a gas grill, a boat mooring, and a wonderful pebble beach. The kitchen, living and dining room are open with windows facing the lake. You'll spend a week gazing at the lake, the sunsets, and the loons or the occasional kayak in the cove. There's no a/c or wifi but there are movies, hikes, and the beautiful lake.
Watch the sun set over the lake every evening. Explore beautiful Moosehead Lake from your private beach. Great stargazing opportunities in the Spring and Fall. There's very little interference from artificial light.
  • Wendy’s home in Beaver Cove was outstanding. The waterfront location was wonderful with magnificent sunsets. Wendy was very quick to respond to questions and provided very detailed information for the house and area. The house was so comfortable and had everything we needed and more! Wendy recommended a local person for a pontoon boat tour around the south end of the lake. She knew so much about the area and was a very safe driver. We can’t wait to return!

    Carol2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • I honestly can’t say enough great things about this location. The views and sunset each evening are incredible. The private beach is a special treat, we loved to relax with the beautiful scenery, listening to the loons. The house is well stocked, we actually brought too many supplies. I absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking for a private getaway in the Moosehead region.

    Madonna2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our young adults with parents family stay in Beaver Cove thoroughly fun in Wendy's spacious comfortable 'cottage.' We delighted in waking each morning to the spectacular beauty of Moosehead Lake. Waterfront was easily accessible + well-stocked with chairs +kayaks + canoe, along with life jackets. Wendy supplies lots of local information including area hiking trails. She was consistently responsive to all inquiries. Difficult to depart after our excellent week in Beaver Cove. We hope to come back !

  • A wonderful spot on Moosehead Lake, convenient to all the amenities in Greenville, and on the edge of the wild back country. Wendy's house has it all: location on the water with stony beach lakefront and decks on two levels. Comfy and cozy and stocked with games and full kitchen and all you need for a great Maine getaway. We will definitely be back -

    Stacey2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • From our first communications with Wendy, we knew we made the right decision. She sent us lots of information about the house, the area and hiking trails knowing that’s what we were interested in. The house and location are wonderful-in a private area of the lake close to the water with several kayaks and a canoe you can use. The house is spacious and clean and has everything you could ever need! We had no issues but knew that Wendy was available should we need anything. We will definitely return.

    Gail2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • For those who love the outdoors and nature, this is a perfect spot to relax , swim and enjoy Moosehead.

    Joseph2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was very nice and pleasant to work with. Everything we needed was right there at the house, leading me to realize I had over packed. There were twice as many sleeping accommodations as I expected, which stopped my children from fighting over where they wanted to sleep. The house was much bigger (Three levels) than we had anticipated as well. The lower level was nice and cool and a perfect place for my two elderly pups to rest and stay out of the heat. The place is very private and the boys enjoyed fishing right in front of the house. We all agreed we wished we had been able to stay longer.
