The Nest created as a getaway a sanctuary to Rest, Renew, Think, Reflect. I designed and Built the Nest in 2018 and put into service 2019. The Cottage has Old New England Charm with a Coastal feel. A nice cozy cottage to put your feet up after a day of site seeing and enjoying the Maine Coast. When traveling the accommodations you choose should also be an enjoyable special part of your journey not just a place to lay your head.
The Nest has a small kitchen with a stove, small refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker. A farmers porch to enjoy your morning beverage while looking out over the pond and wildlife before you begin your day exploring or lovely to sit out on in the evening and gaze at the stars and evening sounds. The Rain shower in the master bath has blue tooth to play your favorite music while getting ready in the morning or evening. There is heat in the ceiling vent for your comfort when getting in and out of the shower or tub. The soaking tub is wonderful for mind body and soul. There are throw blankets to snuggle up with on the porch when a bit chilly. The cottage was designed with relaxation in mind an escape so there is a TV in each of the two bedrooms , a small bedroom that has a built in Daybed and the Queen bed bedroom but life is intentionally not centered around the Tv in this space. Tv has local news some additional channels and you can sign into your personal Netflix account ( just remember to sign out before checking out ).There are board games, cards and books for your use while visiting. For extended stay guest there is a washer and dryer in the cottage for your convenance. A phone for local calling for long distance you will need a calling card. Please let me know in advance if you will be traveling with a small child whom will need a play pen and or high chair so that i can make them available for you as these items are stored at my residence.
We live on a quiet road and a nice neighborhood. The sounds that you will hear are birds, crickets and peepers in the spring. You will quite often see deer and other wild life. We are close to Beautiful Sheepscott village where people quite often put their Kayaks in to go down the scenic Sheepscott river. There are wonderful hiking trails just up the Road and in surrounding towns.
  • Best AIR bnb we’ve ever stayed in. Full of thoughtful touches, Cosy tasteful decor, high quality EVERYTHING. Brittney is the loveliest host, so warm and welcoming! We will be back as quick as our work schedules allow! The bath is to die for, took many long relaxing soaks after lovely hikes and walks. The area is so pretty, quiet, and close enough to Damariscotta (15 mins). If you’re looking for the most relaxing and amazing getaway ever, brittney has created this with her nest. Thanks for everything! Beth & CJ Moss

  • If you're planning your next vacation in Maine, then look no further, this is the place to rent! Firstly, the Nest is absolutely stunning both inside and out. The grounds, drive, and outdoor sitting area are both beautiful and serene. Once you get inside, the beauty continues. The house is well decorated with a lovely, rustic, farmhouse meets coastal chic vibe. There is everything and anything that you could possibly need available to you during your stay, from toiletries to cutlery. But, the best part about The Nest is it's owners. Brittany is far and away one of the nicest people I've ever had the privilege to meet. She is genuinely a warm, caring person who will do all she can to ensure that your stay at The Nest is as perfect as is memorable. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay while in Maine!

  • Go exploring before you reach the Nest. This home is so cozy and welcoming we found it tough to leave.

    Janice2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at The Nest. We love taking advantage of the amenities that The Nest have to offer, such as the grille and fire pit, but this time around we stumbled in upon a Fall Beer Festival at nearby Oxbow Brewing that had us rethinking our plans! The whole weekend was peppered with serendipitous surprises like this. And Brittney is not only a fabulous host, but a generous and lovely human that we now consider our friend. Can’t recommend this place enough! Magic WILL happen at your stay here.

    Travis2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for peace & quit in beautiful surroundings venture no further! Our stay at The Nest was our best AirBnB experience yet. Close to everything that Mid-coast Maine has to offer yet completely away from the tourist hustle & bustle. Brittney & John have probably ruined us for future AirBnB experiences as this one will be near impossible to top. Every Detail was perfect! Thanx again for everything Brittney & John!!!

  • What an exceptional find. Everything was perfect, down to the last little detail. Whether it was having lunch outside on the picnic table by the garden, relaxing in the Adirondack chairs by the pond , or curling up on the porch reading a book, everywhere you looked, the comfort of home were all around. All the furnishings, appliances and bedding, towels, etc were more than expected. Very high quality experience. Master and guest showers were amazing. Did not get to try out the tub , but looked very inviting as well. Plenty of space for 2 adults and a young one to stay. We used the guests room as a closet, since it was just the two of us.

    Ted2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my fiancé loved everything about The Nest! It was really clean, comfy and had everything we needed as if it was our own house like a washer/dryer + detergent, extra blankets, cooking utensils, and even extra luxuries like makeup sponges/wipes, loofas, bath salts, bluetooth speakers and essential oil diffusers (not to mention a mattress that we're definitely buying for our own home). Unlike a hotel, you could go there with out worrying about forgetting anything, because you could find it somewhere in the cottage. The property is nice and secluded but still not too far from town with restaurants and shops. It was our first time using Airbnb and we were not disappointed! We will definitely be back!

    Ryan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a relaxing and stylish space in Midcoast Maine then look no further! This house is truly one of a kind and has spectacular amenities. From the great communication, to the hand written card and bottle of Prosecco left upon arrival, no stone was left unturned. The home is spotless and is straight out of a magazine. The master bed is the comfiest yet and the bath is like no other I’ve experienced. The kids space is perfect, porch is relaxing with a great view and the veggie garden such a nice touch for cooking. The proximity to restaurants and shopping while still being away from it all is just right. We’ve stayed in many Airbnb’s and they’ve all been great, but this one is a true gem. I highly recommend the cottage and we’ll surely be back! A+++

  • Great getaway for a weekend with friends. Loved the outdoor space and proximity to the river: truly unbeatable views. Only thing to note is that there aren’t any doors on the bedrooms.

  • Our stay at Ashley’s cabin was a lovely experience for me, my husband and dog! The secluded and serene location was perfect for a nice relaxing getaway. The river fulfilled all my husbands fishing goals for our trip. The one and only thing I would change about the cabin is the view from the deck of the river is a little obstructed with shrubbery. It would really open up the view if it was cleared out a bit. Ashley was accommodating and checked in to make sure our trip was going well, she even checked to make sure we were ok after a big storm! I would love to stay here again in the future!

    Jennifer2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • A cute cabin next to the Kennebec River. If you are looking for a place to disconnect from electronics yet be close to sites and restaurants, this is the place to be. The view of the river in the morning on the deck or in the evening by the fire pit are picturesque!!

    Gina2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A magical spot! The location is beautiful, and the cabin is cozy. We did have problems with heat & hot water (due to electric utility work--not under the control of our hosts), but our hosts responded very quickly. If you can tolerate a few quirks with the building and are not afraid of lighting an old gas range, it's a lovely place to spend some quiet days, watching the geese, marvelling at the leaves turning almost before your eyes, taking advantage of the cozy but well-equipped kitchen, and perusing the amply-stocked bookshelves.

    Denise2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley’s cabin was THE picturesque Maine experience! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience all Maine has to offer in the coziest setting!

    Amber2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Well worth the $ and would likely return. No frills and no TV or wifi etc. Just a wonderful place to escape the world and get back to nature. Total seclusion and wonderful place if traveling with a pet. My dog loved the river and huge property to run and play. Would definately recommend this cabin and Ashley was a great host.

    Karen2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Sacred River Cabin was excellent. It’s a huge amount of incredibly private space - excellent for relaxation and fun on the water. Can’t say enough good things about this place, our dogs wish they could stay forever.

    Tom2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb, quiet and secluded along a river. The cabin is rustic and comfortable with a great grill and deck, the bed on the closed in porch is lovely. We had a great time visiting with our dog. Ashley was easy to communicate with, we’d definitely go again.

You can't get any closer to the coast of Maine. The cottage perches on a dock next to a small cove. Low tide beach, high tide swimming area, and lapping waves on a near by ledge make this get away a perfect retreat for one or two guests.
The cottage provides everything you need for a comfortable stay: New mattress and bedding, comfortable chairs for relaxing and dining, a kitchenette for light meals, and deck furniture to enjoy outdoor living. Wrap around windows provide views of the cove and access to summer breezes. A heater keeps the cabin toasty on cooler days.
We are located in a neighborhood of year round homes and summer houses. The nearby (.5 miles) Audubon property offers walking trails. Damariscotta and Round Pond, 15 minutes away, have many restaurants and shops, and galleries. A half hour drive will bring you to Camden and Rockland where you have more access to restaurants and museums. The Midcoast is a beautiful area of Maine that appeals to people who want to view the scenery of the rocky coast while they also enjoy the uniqueness of each village.
  • Sharon and Dick were expert hosts. The "Little Heaven" description of this location is an understatement. It was absolutely perfect. My soul, my body, my mind, were completely at rest in this place. I can't describe how beautiful it is: waking up to a calm inlet at low tide, sleeping to the sound of the waves lapping inward as high tide was rising, the fishermen headed out to sea in the morning, the leaves across the bay having changed looking like a palette of earth tones. It was heavenly, indeed.

    Todd2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely stunning spot- perfect for relaxing, and also perfectly positioned to adventure out and explore beautiful Maine. Sharon and Dick are perfect hosts, and their warm, welcoming personalities are evident. My husband and I listened to the tides come in and out, heard the loon singing, owl calls- Perfection really, for anyone that likes being in tune with nature.

    Caitlin2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This space is small and cozy, right on the water where you can experience the changing tides and bird watch throughout the day (we especially loved watching the cormorants fish!). Location is great, and Sharon & Dick are super responsive and welcoming hosts. Excellent experience!

    Nikki2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in a beautiful setting! Hard to beat the location - directly on the water - lovely to be able to watch the tide come and go on the rocky shore. The cottage is small but masterfully set-up to take advantage of the space. There are two comfortable armchairs in the windows for watching the tides and the sunset, and a deck with more chairs and tables outside. The kitchen was so meticulously set-up that I sent my son, who is a fan of "tiny houses," a few photos of the layout of dishes, cookware etc inside the cabinets - he was impressed. We had no difficulty cooking a range of nice meals despite the small space. We hope to have a chance to stay in this wonderful place again sometime soon.

    Piper2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Words truly cannot describe this little place. My husband and I eloped from Iowa, and got married right there on the boat dock, and spend a week relaxing, seeing the local sites, eating lobster and oysters, and watching the trees start to turn colors. Our first time in Maine was unbelievable, and would not have been the same had we stayed somewhere else. We loved the winding, wooded roads, and just wish we had our motorcycle! This little cottage was perfect for the two of us. Well equipped with everything we needed. We loved cooking live lobsters, grilling steaks and burgers, and eating on the deck. Dick & Sharron are wonderful!! Always friendly when we saw them around the property, and we still felt secluded and in our own private space. We look forward to returning to Little Heaven again someday!! Best vacation of our lives!

    Sarah2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space and hosts. Waking up on the water was truly inspiring.

    Jay2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing little spot on the water. Sharon and Dick were so helpful, but not intrusive. Life does not get much better than sitting on the deck, eating lobster and watching the seals.

    Cathryn2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is truly an unforgettable slice of heaven. We had the best time staying here and felt right at home. The cottage itself was adorable, very clean and well organized, allowing us to make dinners and breakfasts everyday, as well as grill on the porch. We enjoyed nearby hiking and sightseeing, beautiful sunsets and blissful mornings. We loved how quiet the location was and its tranquility, with unique birds and a fresh ocean smell morning and night. Sharon and Dick were very welcoming and accommodating, and we felt very comfortable lounging on the porch and sitting on the dock off their property. All we can say is thank you so much for an unforgettable experience and we definitely plan to return! This place is Maine’s best kept secret, in my opinion ;)

The health and safety of our guests, homeowners, and employees is our number one priority. Many of our vacation rentals minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via smart locks or lockboxes. Plus, each reservation is backed by 24/7 customer support and expert cleaning in line with current CDC guidelines.
This amazing, light-filled cottage packs a lot of comfort and sophistication. The simple contemporary design becomes quite dramatic with soaring ceilings in warm wood and is softened by comfortable upholstered furnishings. The pond is closed to motorized watercraft, making it a perfect place for paddling in the available kayaks, canoes or rowboat. This lakefront property also features a deck overlooking the lake! It's the perfect place to enjoy your meals or snacks since it provides a comfortable picnic table and even a gas grill. What's nearby: Located just a few miles from Coastal Route 1, Damariscotta or Boothbay, guests will enjoy easy access to day trips in the area or can choose instead to unwind in this serene setting. Fort Edgecomb State Historic Site is the premier tourist spot in town. Built in 1808, the fort was a stronghold for the port of Wiscasset and saw a lot of action during the bloody War of 1812. High Head Point is a favorite spot nearby for picnickers in the summer and leaf peepers in the fall. Things to know: Full kitchen (with a dishwasher) Dog-friendly! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

  • Heaven on earth! Couldn’t have asked for more!

    Pam2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s place is absolutely idyllic. I felt like I was in one of those “over water” resorts. The cottage is impeccably decorated and the use of space is spectacular. The location is super-convenient. We walked across the bridge to dinner in Wiscasset one night, went down to Freeport to do some shopping, and explored Boothbay. The cottage was well equipped with all of the basics and a basket of delicious snacks. Thanks, Sara!

    Christine2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming little cottage with beautiful views! I used it as a writing retreat for 5 days and it was perfect! Clean, comfortable, with all of the amenities I needed and more. If you are sensitive to light, you may want to bring eyeshadows because the sun rises over a skylight in the bedroom.

This is a quaint farm house in a rural setting but not far from many attractions in the mid coast area. It's comfortable, warm, cozy and quiet. There's a lot of wildlife here. I'm very close to Wiscasset, Damariscotta Lake State Park and Damariscotta village. There are some great restaurants and pubs a short drive away. Pemaquid Point and lighthouse on the ocean is a beautiful drive from here as is Rockland, Camden & Augusta. It's a good mid coast location.
My house is in a quiet country setting. It is, however, located mid-coast with access to shopping, restaurants and water access near by. There is a public boat launch that some of my guests have used to go kayaking and canoeing on the Lake Damariscotta. A beautiful clean lake and river close by. Another boat launch is into the Damariscotta River in the village of Damarisscotta. There are farms nearby and views of the lake. This is a very scenic area of Maine. I have also had some people biking through the area in the summer and spring. There are many hiking trails nearby and a short drive away there are hikes along the water.
  • Margaret is the perfect hostess. Her quiet house in a beautiful setting in the Maine woods is cozy, sparkling clean, full of light and thoughtfully appointed. I will go there again in a heartbeat.

    Andres2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret is such a wonderful host. She communicates clearly where her home is located. Her house is warm, comfortable and just always feels like home. When the need arises we will always stay with Margaret!

  • Jefferson is a charming town and the drive to Margaret's place includes breathtaking views of Damariscotta Lake. You drive up, along Rte. 213, to the top of Bunker Hill and the town's historic buildings, then down about a mile or so to Margaret's place, an early-1800s Cape. Margaret is charming and gracious, a perfect host who provides a wonderful breakfast...starting with the smell of bacon cooked on a wood stove. Genevieve F.

  • I am a really lucky man. This was my first time to stay on Airbnb. I have gotten from her, such as her warm welcome, having an attentive heart, clean rooms, smart use of color that I love for her whole house, an unforgettable taste of English tea and breakfast, AND her natural personality... I'll definitely be back there. Thanks again, Margaret.

  • It was a pleasure to stay at Margaret's home. She took me on a very short notice for a business trip I was on. She made me feel extremely welcomed from the very beginning. She even sent me off in the morning with a warm bowl of oatmeal. Thanks for your kindness! I would definitely welcome another chance to stay with her. She is a great host.

Located in a historic 200 year old building "Ship Shape" is close to downtown but on a quiet residential street. Just one block to the library, bookstore, post office and all the lovely shops. It is on the shore of the Damariscotta River with wonderful views from inside and out.. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the light, the outdoors space, and the new comfy bed. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
"Ship Shape" is located in what was formerly the office of the church. It was totally renovated and a kitchen and bathroom with a shower was added. The only wall that is shared with the restaurant- Savory Maine -is the back of the shower. Because the apartment faces south- away from downtown- it is very quiet even though it is just a block from Main Street. The apartment is cozy and is furnished with antiques. Cozy is another word for small. If you need a lot of space to spread out this is not the place for you. Boaters are welcome if they want to spend some time on land. We are a very short walk to the town landing. The bus stop is one block away. A car is not needed to visit this wonderful town. Beach chairs and towels and provided. Off street parking is provided.
Damariscotta is a very special coastal Maine town. It has a very vibrant year round community. Most of the stores and restaurants are open year round. It is a naturally beautiful area with many opportunities for outdoor recreation. Within a 2 0 minute drive you can get to Pemaquid Beach, Pemaquid lighthouse, Fort William Henry, Dodge Point, Damariscotta Lake Beach and many other beautiful areas that are open to the public. There are many artists in the area along with many galleries. There are musical groups and both amateur and professional theater companies. There are 2 weekly farmers' markets and many good restaurants- my favorite- Savory Maine.
  • Great location, close to restaurants and bars, very quiet and cozy! I liked the eco-friendly touches as well. I'll definitely be back. Thanks!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Ship Shape. Being right in town is fantastic. We found plenty to do during our days visiting & enjoyed the coziness at night when we returned. We could see how this would be a great spot in the busy season as well. It’s all about location!

  • Grace’s tiny bed and breakfast is a perfect place to spend some time. The view from her place looks over the Damariscotta river and walkng out the door you are literally right down town. And the best place of all is right downstairs where Grace runs her fabulous restaurant,”Savory Maine.

A semi-off grid, eco-friendly cabin perfect for exploring all mid-coast Maine has to offer. 3 hours from Boston or Acadia, 1 hour to Portland and Maine’s gorgeous beaches. 5-30 minute drive to Hiking, swim spots, farm-stands, nationally recognized dairy farms, breweries, and amazing restaurants. Outfitted for folks who love to cook: fire up the grill or wood fired oven, stargaze in the hammock by campfire, or float in a canoe or kayak on the Eastern river. Enjoy what is unique to Maine!
A modern rustic cabin with a romantic sleeping loft. Semi off grid with "walking" ( instead of running) water and a composting toilet. Visit Tandem Glass studio next door for shower access. The kitchen is well appointed with cooking utensils, induction cook-top, organic teas, coffee. Grill by the pond or try out our wood-fired oven (weather dependent). The sleeping loft is accessed by ships ladder and has a comfortable queen sized bed and river view. We like to put flannel sheets on it in cooler weather. Explore the Eastern river by kayak or canoe (right out front). We are close to the Kennebec river & Merrymeeting Bay as well. A bit further away are the Sheepscott and Sasanoa rivers.
We named our cabin "Merrymeeting Cabin" to let our visitors know our proximity to Merrymeeting Bay. Our land has direct access to the Eastern River & we are a 5 minute drive to public access the Kennebec River. You could easily spend all day in a canoe on this amazing water system. There are great trails quite close by for short scenic walks and longer hikes. We love our water views and Dresden's rich farm country, and history. Drive 5 minutes to our local farm stand to pick up fresh veggies, cheese, even meat, eggs, flowers and maple syrup . The local food scene is amazing here with so many small farms making incredible goodies as well as growing fresh produce. Dresden is quiet country living with many interesting historical locations. VERY central, we are just 20 minutes from Wiscasset, Bath and Richmond. 30 minutes from Damariscotta and Augusta, Hallowell. Brunswick and Bowdoin College are a 35 minute drive. Portland, Rockland and Boothbay are 45 minutes (traffic dependent Wiscasset's bridge can slow things down...especially if you are trying to catch a ferry!). Colby and Bates Colleges are 45 minutes. Explore Coastal or Inland Maine easily from our cabin. We are 20 minutes to either route 1 or highway 295. We have many local parks and beaches close by as well as festivals like Bowdoin College's annual music festival. Make sure to check out our guidebook. We have listed all our local favorite activities.
  • Great little cabin, perfect for our short trip. We went during Coronavirus so unfortunately did not get to meet our hosts, but our online communication was great. If you’re looking for a little cabin retreat in Maine, this is your place!

  • This space was exactly what we were looking for and met our needs perfectly, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat! It was cozy with great amenities and a beautiful setting. Terrill was super welcoming and helpful, had great recommendations for the area.

    Amelia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Terrill and Charlie's cabin was perfect for my getaway. The loft bed is so cozy and sweet, the cabin is spacious, and the composting toilet situation was the best I've encountered yet (I do a lot of off-grid getaways). With all the amenities and extra special touches, this felt like a step above glamping. The cabin was toasty warm, the bed was super comfy, and the local recommendations were fantastic.

    Abigail2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Terrill is a gracious host, and the cabin made for a perfect get-away! Highly recommended, with great outdoor opportunities very close by.

    Theodora2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Terrill and Charlie’s little cabin was the perfect getaway from our busy city schedule. Even when the temperature went down to -10 F degree during the night/20 F degree during the day, the cabin stayed warm and cozy throughout our stay. We took advantage of the grill outside and made home cooked meals throughout our stay. Lots of games and books available to keep you busy while in the cabin but also close to lots of breweries and little cute towns to visit. We also loved the sustainability and eco friendly mindset the hosts have. We are definitely coming back in the summer to enjoy the river and take advantage of the wood fire oven.

    Charmaine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, cabin was super cozy & hosts were very friendly/knowledgeable. Cabin was a perfect mix of connected unconnected, filled with thoughtful touches. 10/10 would recommend.

    Rusty2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just perfect. Everything was exactly as described. Terrill was very friendly and checking in and out was a breeze. We enjoyed some of the scenery at a nearby town (Georgetown). Dresden is a very peaceful quiet down away from lots of traffic. We had a very peaceful enjoyable time. We visited in the winter months but would love to come back this summer.

    Chloe2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a repeat stay for me and it won’t be my last! The Merrymeeting Cabin is an incredibly comfortable, private, and relaxing place to be. Terrill is a phenomenal host and extremely quick to respond to any questions. I’m very glad I found this Midcoast gem!!

  • The Sea Salt Cottage is adorable. It is in an old home so there are a few quirks, but it adds to the charm. Ammi was very helpful and the muffins she provided were delicious. The offerings of tea, coffee and milk and butter were nice touches. We enjoyed the books and info for the surrounding area. The bed was comfy. We only stayed one night but enjoyed ourselves. ~ Davida Stafford, Virginia

  • The Sea Salt cottage is in a central location on Midcoast Maine, with so many beautiful places within an easy drive. Ammi is a gracious host, and gave us great tips on the best places to see within our time frame. The space is beautifully done, with lots of thoughtful touches throughout. Ammi truly thought of everything! We can't wait to come back to Maine and the Sea Salt!

    Diane2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time at Sea Salt; we can’t wait to return again next year! Seriously, this is a highlight of our year. The most relaxing place to stay with special touches everywhere. Super comfortable bed, beautiful linens, private bath, and kitchenette with a fantastic selection of teas and coffee. Not to forget, the amazing blueberry muffins! Ammi Bai is a wonderful, caring host, who is also a talented artist! I love that some of her artwork hangs on the walls of Sea Salt, and she has a beautiful small gallery of her artwork right next door. We cannot say enough good things about Sea Salt AND Ammi Bai!

    Pamela2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • I had three months in USA and Canada, but these last three wonderful weeks in Wiscasset were unforgettable. The Sea Salt Cottage is such a good place to rest. At all times I felt welcome and I enjoyed every conversation with Ammi very much! There was so much to discover in the Mid Coast Region and Ammi always supported me with excellent tips. I'll miss her, along with her well-kept garden, the tastefully decorated rooms and of course the delicious muffins. Thank you for every recommendation, especially the trip to Monhegan Island!

    Eva2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience! This was absolutely the sweetest place to stay. I am so glad I found it. Every little detail about the cottage was perfect. So clean, fresh, comfortable and welcoming! Everything I needed was provided. Ammi was the sweetest and so informative. Loved getting to hear about all the great places around. The blueberry muffins were AMAZING! And such a sweet treat. I was so sad I had to leave, as I was truly enjoying every moment of being there. The flowers and greenery were gorgeous! All the special touches in the cottage were perfection. It couldn’t be any better. Definitely hoping to stay again and longer next time!!! If you need a special getaway spot, this for sure is it!!

  • Very cute place right off the Main Street! The bed is very comfortable and there are some nice touches - like individual packets of soap and shampoo for those of us who forget certain things. 😊 There are some yummy restaurants within walking distance. The carrot ginger scones and homemade hash are crazy good at Fernald’s Country Store. And the mussels and artichoke dip at Eidler’s Pub were fantastic.

    Jenny2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I like staying at Cottrell house when I come to Damariscotta to work on my old boat. This was my second time. It is a warm quiet and comfortable place, centrally located. I enjoyed meeting Lissette this time. I decided to make a quick breakfast before an early start and found it kind of awkward mostly because there is no stove/hot plate (consistent with the listing so no complaint here) and the only sink is 4 rooms away in the bathroom. Best to just make coffee and warm something up in the microwave or have some sort of cold cereal/granola. I would come back again.

    John David2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lissette is a kind and wonderful host. The Cottrell House is not only welcoming and comfortable, it's caring. The little studio apartment I stayed in was filled with sweet and thoughtful touches. It had everything I needed and is right on Main Street in town within walking distance of just about everything. Damariscotta, ME is a sweet town. The people are so nice and kind. It makes me want to move here!

Located on beautiful Damariscotta Lake, "Loon Lodge" is a rustic cabin from another era. Fall asleep to the sound of crickets and frogs and wake every morning to the call of the lake's many loons. The cabin is 30 minutes from Augusta and 15 minutes from Damariscotta. Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy climbing the Camden Hills-a quick 45 minute drive from the lake. You’ll love my place because of the views, the ambiance, the people, and the location. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
Loon Lodge is located on the water in a small association of summer cottages. The neighbors are very pleasant and quiet. Some of our neighbors have dogs who wander around the association and may sniff around the Lodge from time to time.
  • Welcoming, homey place right on the lake.

  • We really enjoyed staying here. The Lake is the beautiful and the lodge had everything we needed for a relaxing lakeside vacation. It's close to downtown Damariscotta, where we got to go to some great local shops. It's also close to Oxbow brewery, one of our favorite breweries and Morse's Sauerkraut, a gem where you can get a great sit down meal, meats and cheeses and specialty food and drinks from europe. Bowen was a great host and we felt cared for if we needed anything. Thanks again!

    Michael2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is the perfect lake getaway for the weekend. It can be tricky to find the road at night but keep going straight! Lake is a blast and they have a fire pit and wood outside! Not much sleeping spaces! Bring comfy cozy blanket and sheets. We loved it

  • Loon Lodge was an excellent place to stay for our first visit to Maine! It was clean and quiet. We enjoyed watching the sun rise on the private dock on the lake while listening to the loons. We would love to stay at Loon Lodge again for another visit to Maine!

    David2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • A slice of heaven. We were there midweek, after Labor Day, and it was peaceful, quiet...lovely. The area is great ...on the lake, in the woods, private, and 20 minutes from salt water, fresh seafood, quaint towns...a perfect spot! The camp was cozy, had all we needed and wanted! Loon Lodge was all we were looking for... and Bowen is a responsible and responsive host. We highly recommend your booking with Bowen and getting away to loon lodge!

    Colette2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Loon Lodge was well furnished had everything needed for a wonderful vacation. The dock was great for my pup to jump off and swim. The water and lake was beautiful. I loved drinking coffee on the huge deck and listening to the loons. Truly a wonderful place for a peaceful retreat.

    Kathleen2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to be in downtown Damariscotta, this is a wonderful place to go. There are lots of places to eat in a 2 or 3 minute walk. Renny's original store is right there. You are right across the street from the library and the Lincoln theater. The lovely used book store is essentially adjacent. A lovely view and easy walk to the water (however, it was winter and we didn't go there). We had a small number of guests for a few hours and there were sufficient dishes and glasses to entertain. The place was very clean and the bed comfortable. The decor was very attractive. Lots of good quality towels. A small number of interesting books. As is made clear in the listing, you do need to go up or down stairs every time you enter or leave the condo. Another tiny drawback - the assigned parking space is a bit tricky to get out of.

    Jim2019-12-17T00:00:00Z

  • We never got a chance to meet Richard, because we arrived so late and left so early, but he left a light on for us and the door was left unlocked. It was a very comfortable night sleep. It was also extremely nice of Richard to have snacks and fruit for us.

    Jessi2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Richard was really accommodating, and was willing to let us leave our car on site so we could travel without parking. He was really friendly, and was so helpful by having breakfast items ready for us, which was something I was hoping to bring myself but didn't get time too. It made our morning much easier! Easy location for a bike ride to downtown Damariscotta (~20minutes). Small, but perfectly fine for 2 people and a quick stay. Microwave and fridge for storing and heating up leftovers from a great dinner in town! :) Thanks Richard!

  • Cozy, comfy room in the woods. I slept like a baby! The ‘kitchen’ had great snacks, fresh fruit, juice and milk along with cereal options, granola bars and delicious coffee. I was quite impressed! Richard & Samantha where great hosts and I wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Nice private room with bath and an area for keeping food cold plus a microwave. Superb hospitality, opening his living room (with wood-burning stove!) to guests as well.

    Chip2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Richard's place was a quiet, private room and bath with it's own entrance in a wooded area close to Damariscotta. He sent very clear directions with a very visible marker at the driveway. The room is very comfortable and clean and appealing witha desk a d comfy reading chair and little kitchenet with small frig, coffee, microwave, popcorn and breakfast/snack items. Richard and his daughter Samantha greeted us warmly when we arrived. The heat was just right and the bed comfy. Loved it!

  • A very homey little cabin, a glorious view of the river from the loveseat, coffee supplies and equipment all waiting to go, including cream in a pretty picture in the fridge. Check in smooth and quick. The bed was wonderful comfortable, lots of pillows, thick comforter. There is a ladder to the loft bedroom, I am 68 year old lady, was easily able to manage. Would stay here again.

  • Ann’s place and such a cute spot to stay. It is also surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Ann was kind enough to start a fire for us before we arrived on a chilly October evening. We enjoyed our quick stay, and would return again!

The Damariscotta region is home to the Pemaquid Point Light in Bristol, famous for the dramatic granite cliffs that surround it. And the Damariscotta River is a boating and fishing hotspot. It has a thriving aqua‐culture industry that produces Pemaquid oysters and the sweet local mussels that are popular in area restaurants. Fresh seafood reigns supreme in the Damariscotta region. Each fall, you have a chance to see daring people in pumpkin-boats float down the Damariscotta River. The Damariscotta Pumpkinfest celebrates the gourd with painted pumpkins, a pie-eating contest, and the quirky pumpkin regatta, with huge pumpkins hollowed out, and floated or motored down the river. Downtown Damariscotta is filled with interesting shops, restaurants, a community theater, and the first Reny's Department Store, which opened in 1949. Since then, Reny's has become a Maine institution with a total of 14 stores throughout the state.
  • It's a perfect home base to explore the area. Clean, quiet and comfortable apartment. We loved having the washer and dryer in unit, and the beds and linens we're super comfortable.

  • The place was great! Wonderful location and plenty to do. Ted was an amazing host. Could not have had a better stay.

    Julia2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This property exceeded my expectations! Very clean and comfortable. Ted is a great host! Would highly recommend this property.

    Alex2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best AirBnBs we’ve stayed in! The apartment is exactly as it appears in photos and sparkling clean. We were very comfortable - everything was newly renovated and the location was fantastic; right in the center of Damariscotta. We felt very welcomed, and loved going downstairs for coffee and breakfast at Cupacity. Couldn’t have asked for more and wouldn’t have changed a thing.

    Elizabeth2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is perfectly situated for a stay in Damariscotta. It’s comfortable and very clean. The fun, modern, tasteful aesthetic plays nicely with the bones of a lovely, historic downtown building. Susan and Ted are delightful hosts. Their coffee shop, Cupacity, right downstairs, is a treasure. Two unexpected extras: designated parking and a washer and dryer. Stay here!

    Pat2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spacious, bright, nicely laid-out apartment in charming Damariscotta, close to shops and restaurants. The back windows offer a view of the tidal Damariscotta River, and the place is filled with natural light. Comfortable beds, kitchen stocked with all the necessary items, including washer and dryer. The place is brand new, clean, and lean – the Andrew Wyeth reproductions on the walls were perfect. Our hosts Ted and Susan, who own the coffee shop downstairs, were available and welcoming. What could be better than a café in the same building, where you can relax, play games, and enjoy the piano? Overall, we had a wonderful stay and hope to return.

    Christine2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous stay at the apartment! The place is amazingly quiet while also being in the middle of town, extremely clean and tidy, everything we needed available, and well furnished with some really cool touches. The hosts are welcoming and helpful. Amazing coffee shop (also with yummy tapas on some nights!) downstairs. Offstreet parking is a huge bonus. We will definitely stay again.

  • Fantastic lake rental! Would definitely stay at Gould Road again! The house was spotless & the lake view was amazing! Newcastle Vacation Rentals has wonderful customer service! They answered all our questions, and even emailed us the week before our stay to let us know the boat launch was going to be closed! Check-in & out was easy!

    Bridget2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Newcastle Vacation Rentals was quick to respond to my questions. I feel you lose a little in the charm of personal rentals with an agency like Newcastle, but you also get a secure feeling that things will be as expected on check-in which counters that. Normally when I've rented houses in the past, especially camps, there are condiments, etc. I understand why Newcastle doesn't allow you to leave them for the next person, so it was a minor thing. We choose to bring our own bedding- which was fine as I normally bring my own pillows anyway. The location of cabin 109 was perfect for us. Off a road, down a long dirt road. There was one cabin in sight, but it was on the backside of the house. I LOVED Damariscotta lake. It is huge and very quiet. Very little boat traffic. Very peaceful. Internet was very slow and spotty. It was great to disconnect, but if you planned on working while at the cabin you may not be able to. I was able to send/receive emails. We had a great vacation and wouldn't hesitate to rent this cabin again.

Built in 2016 on Marjorie Farm's 230-year-old property, the Crow's Nest offers a private, well-appointed retreat in a rustic setting. Enjoy loft-like ceilings and abundant light in this meticulously renovated second floor of our barn. It's a perfect "home base" for solo adventurers, couples, and families who want to take advantage of all Midcoast Maine has to offer while relaxing slightly off the beaten path. Close to beaches, shopping, restaurants, hiking, museums, and farmer's markets.
*** THIS IS A CLEAN PLACE *** The reviews speak for themselves, but we've also implemented additional deep-cleaning procedures with disinfecting wipes in between all stays. Wipes are also provided for guest use (along with plenty of hand soap!). Staying in a rural setting in the Maine countryside is also definitely an act of "social distancing." :) *** THIS IS A SAFE SPACE *** For you and your family, regardless of race, religion, orientation, gender, or identification...if you come with love, we would love to host you. *** THIS IS A SUSTAINABLE PLACE *** We recycle and compost. We use recycled, non-bleached paper products, reusable cleaning cloths, and as many "green" cleaning products as possible. We follow sustainable permaculture practices for our crops and animals, provide wildlife and pollinator habitats, and cultivate deep relationships with the land. *** HOME-BAKED TREATS *** Guests staying for 3+ nights will be greeted upon check-in with some home-baked Maine blueberry muffins. Brew up some of the complimentary coffee and you've got the perfect breakfast in bed. All guests booking a 1 week+ stay receive a discounted rate, and also also get their choice of a unique baked good courtesy of Nina. Menu available upon request. ;) The property’s main farm house was built in 1790—when George Washington was president! Later, the owners expanded the kitchen and added a new section of the house plus the deck. The barn and driveway were then added. In 2015, Nina and Ian bought the property and named it Marjorie Farm (after Nina’s grandmother). Nina’s parents, Beth and John, then built the Crow’s Nest above the barn in 2016. They wanted a place to stay when visiting their two adorable grandchildren. This 500 sq. ft. living space is a perfect size and has everything efficiently laid out! The western-facing windows give excellent light and gorgeous views of the woods. You'll hear country sounds – many different birds, the occasional neighborhood dog, Tikki Tikki Tembo the rooster (and if you're lucky, the donkey down the road), rain tapping on the steel roof, and wind in the trees. You are a short distance from canoeing streams, hiking trails, beaches, restaurants & shopping, historic and tourist sites in Bath, Brunswick, Wiscasset, Phippsburg, Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor, and more. The property is 4 ½ acres and includes a large planting and livestock field, fruit trees (apple, pear, peach), a garden area (to be developed), chicken coop, horse pasture, wood shed, and forest. Nina’s dad grew up on a farm in Illinois exactly this size and configuration. Nina’s childhood was filled with stories about John’s idyllic life there, and she was determined to have a similar spot of her own. She and Ian searched high and low after moving to Maine and finally found this perfect location. They have many plans for the future here and are glad to be able to share their paradise with their guests. Welcome!

  • The Crow's Nest is a wonderful and beautiful place to stay! It is a comfy loft apartment on their farm. We loved seeing her horses hanging out in their side yard when we drove to or from the apartment. We enjoyed a nice long weekend slightly unplugged from our everyday lives. Nina provided very clear instructions for checking in and out. She kept us informed of a power outage and how that could potentially impact our stay. We all decided to play it by ear and the power came back on before we arrived. I appreciated both her transparency and flexibility as a host. She also provided detailed instructions in the rental manual as well as notes throughout the apartment. I highly recommend staying at the Crow's Nest if you need to make the great escape to Maine!

  • Great location, fantastic experience

    April2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin! We had an amazing long weekend on the Nebi during the Damariscotta Pumpkin Fest. The boat was such a unique way to spend our time and enhanced the overall experience more than the average Airbnb or hotel. So much so that more of our time than anticipated was lounging around looking out the wrap around windows out on the river and foliage. Never mind the great host hospitality and being in walking distance to everything you’d want! Cannot recommend this place enough!

    Dani2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking to stay on a boat in Maine then it’s hard to beat Olga’s! We loved that the marina was small and private so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. It’s also walkable to everything in town which is super convenient. We will definitely be back!

    Ryan2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was an incredible stay! The boat, the location (the view), the community, the hosts...everything was fantastic! Can’t recommend this enough! Such a fun experience!

  • Our stay on the Nebi was great! Check in was easy and the place was spotless! So fun staying on the boat, enjoying the views and harbor activity and walking around town.

    Elizabeth2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Olga and Chip were fantastic hosts and the Nebi was a joy to stay on! Our son never wanted to leave the boat! We enjoyed the area thoroughly and had a fantastic vacation. Highly recommended experience!

    Ray2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly cool boat in a great area. Hosts were close by and very welcoming.

    Edward2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great experience for our family. We enjoyed numerous aspects/ activities. Sitting on the water, the river boat cruise that the hosts operate, kayaking/ canoeing (included with site), walking around Main Street- plenty of great eateries and cute shops. The hosts are charming and lovely. We were welcomed with some nice fruit and cheese and a bottle of wine. There are plenty of games to play provided on the boat. It can be seen as simple but provides a nice way to begin your stay after traveling to your destination. This was a memorable experience that we would do again!

UNHEATED rustic homey cabin nestled on the edge of farm fields. Price includes hearty farm breakfast for 2 ($20/pp additional guest). Watch sheep and goats wander outside your window. Four-course gourmet farm-to-table dinners available by reservation. $60/pp (10 years and older) $30pp under 10 years old. We are half way between Boston and Acadia National Park. We lived on Mount Desert Island so we know the hidden gems. Rural farm with dark skies and bright, magical stars.
Our farm cabin has a great feel of being connected to nature. It is quiet, cozy and a wonderful place to watch the sunset overlooking grazing animals. The cabin is unheated although during the shoulder seasons we put hot water bottles in the bed so you have a warm & cozy nights sleep. The cabin has one queen bed. There is also a fold-down (double bed) coach in the sitting room. We are a working organic farm, so farm tours (and helping with chores) are very much welcome! Farm fresh, organic breakfast with cabin rental. Four-course gourmet dinners are available for cabin guests at an additional charge of $60pp - by reservation only. After your long drive why not relax here on the farm, enjoy the beauty around you while savoring a farm fresh organic meal. The cabin does not have heat, electricity or running water ~ it is cozy, relaxing and perfect way to experience Maine & farm life. Outhouse is nearby. Plan to visit our farm store where you can buy award-winning cheese, goat-milk soap, beeswax candles, organic wool pillows, sheep and goat skins and other creations made by Patti. Chris is an avid biker and has several bike loops he can either lead you on or just send you off with a map. ~ GREAT BIKING. Loads of hiking trails are right out our door or wander down the gravel road. Visiting the animals (goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, cats and, of course, Denali - the farm hound) is always a highlight for guests.
Our neighborhood is "rural." We live adjacent to the largest roadless area in mid coast Maine. Our property is connected to miles of trails for walking, mountain biking or cross country skiing. Whitefield is a farming community - with a terrific general store (Sheepscot General). The Amish have recently moved to town - giving Whitefield a particular country-charm. We are also very close to the Sheepscot River for those who want to paddle, swim or just listen to the rippling water. Chris is an avid biker and has several bike loops he can either lead or just send you off with a map.
  • Outstanding in all senses of the word! Perfect get away, beyond kind hosts, beautiful scene, absolutely and perfectly quiet— truly the most relaxing stay. Wondeful hosts beyond measure!

  • Patti and Chris are wonderful hosts! The cabin is clean, and hot water bottles were placed in the bed to keep the bed warm! They actually lasted the whole night. We had the farm to table dinner WOW! One of the best meals we’ve had! Patti’s breakfasts were also great! The farm store has some great items. This cabin is a great place to stay and unwind! Highly recommend!

  • This was just the respite we needed! Looking for a place to unplug, relax, and watch the animals graze? This is the place. Patti is warm, personable, and a wealth of knowledge about what to do in Maine. I cannot recommend her and this lovely cabin enough!

  • Patti and Chris were wonderful hosts! They had lanterns and hot water bottles ready for us when we arrived, and the directions to the cabin were very clear. The place is really cozy and clean, and very comfortable. Even the outhouse had cute decorations! The breakfast was great and we got some wonderful suggestions for things to do in the area. Thanks for a great stay!

  • I cannot recommend this wonderful cabin enough. The beautiful property granted us sweet releif from the world found inside our phones, eternally demanding our attention. And so too, the friendly animals and warm hospitality of Patti and Chris will stay with us for some time. Thank you, Patti and Chris.

  • Patty and Chris are excellent hosts! I most enjoyed the delicious and warm breakfast Patty served up every morning. My boyfriend’s highlight was getting to milk their goats! They offered many suggests on local attractions and we took them up on almost every one! We’re so glad we did as we had an unforgettable time and very much look forward to returning. We’re so grateful to Patty and Chris for making their working farm quite the Airbnb gem!

    Catherine2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Patti is a great host and will teach you how to milk a very excited goat! The farm is beautiful and the animals are happy and enjoy plenty of space. If you go here you will get a beautiful cabin to yourself, you will fall asleep with the singing of the crickets and wake up to the rooster. And then get an amazing pancake and goat yogurt smoothie breakfast :)

    Andrea2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice off the grid cabin. Breakfast is excellent. The store has good stuff. Check it out. As the reviews mentioned, there are bugs, but that’s expected for staying on a farm. The host even let our little kid see the animals. She also gave us good tips for places to check out while in Maine.

Come experience lambing & kidding on an organic farm. You have your own private heated room to relax in (light breakfast included with stay) - but you will most likely be spending most of your time in the barn snuggling with the baby animals or helping Farmers Patti & Chris during this exciting time. We cannot guarantee that a birth will happen while you are here but there is anticipation, preparation, monitoring, caring for new mothers & new babies - all part of the experience!
Your room is part of the house but seperate - with its own entrance (not through the main house). It is heated by a woodstove which we will start before you arrive & stoke with wood while you are here (that is important to note). We will provide breakfast during your stay. We are very busy this time of year and our hope is that people will rent the room with expectations of sharing in the experience of lambing & kidding season on our farm. We will include you in as much of the experience as you would like.
Our neighborhood is special - it is rural yet has a community. Across the street from the barn is a small micro brewery (sheepscot brewing company) with tasting room hours on friday evening (times vary so you have to give them a call), we are nearby to two amazing general stores with great food & atmosphere. The Alna general store makes amazing mexican inspired food and the sheepcot general store has a cafe with terrific seasonal local dishes as well as a famous pizza night every friday evening (often with special events as well). Aside from beer & food we are adjacent to Hidden Valley Nature Center with miles of groomed cross country ski trails. You can cross country ski or snowshoe right from the doorstep - but then again who will have time with all the cute baby animals to cuddle!
  • A truly unique experience! Spending time with the new lambs and kids is a blast. Learning how to milk a goat is an added bonus if you’re up for it! Patti and Chris are very sweet and knowledgeable. They provided lots of great ideas for my evening dinner. I chose The Liberal Cup where I met a lot of the locals and had a great time over a beer and some good food.

The private roads also provide good walking, running, biking, birding, and hiking opportunities directly from the house.
You'll step onto the porch to enter this quaint family home that features a cozy great room, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, basement entertainment area, and workout room with elliptical and rowing machines. The house is 3 levels, with 1 bedroom on the top floor, 2 bedrooms on the main floor along with a bathroom, and 1 bedroom in the basement along with the second bathroom, workout room, and den with tv. The basement is essentially its own little suite featuring private entrance, entertainment space— den with tv and bar, small desk and chair, bathroom, and workout room. Outside you'll find many places to relax including a small patio with chairs, covered porch with more seating, large sun deck with picnic table and 7-person hot tub. There’s a huge grassy lawn, propane grill, and a fire pit encircled by Adirondack chairs and 10 private acres, of course. If you make it through the wild woods to the back of the 10 acres you’ll be rewarded with a good-sized beaver pond with several active beaver families, among other wildlife to glimpse. Wi-fi and tv are provided by satellite so access can be slow or dodgy due to weather, etc. Insects sometimes find their way into the house. The beach is on Damariscotta Lake less than 1/2 mile away. We are also about 10 minutes’ drive from Damariscotta Lake State Park beach.
The hallmarks of our neighborhood are the private beach, dock, and boat launch that is only available to members and guests of our small rural community. Neighbors love the quiet privacy of these great amenities so please keep outdoor noise to a minimum and be considerate of neighbors. There are also three miles of 15mph private roads (with option to loop) that provides walking and biking opportunities from the house. In addition to walking past the lake, you’ll find streams and beaver ponds tucked away just off the roads. We are located in Jefferson just 10 miles from Damariscotta/ Newcastle and 30 minutes to Wiscasset, Gardiner, and Augusta. We are 45 minutes to Bath, Camden, Rockland, and Boothbay Harbor. We are an hour to Brunswick and 75 minutes to Portland. The closest grocery store is about 15 minutes away. We are less than 10 minutes from Damariscotta Lake State Park’s beach, public boat launch, and the Jefferson Scoop, ice cream parlor. Jefferson‘s Lakeside Diner offers an impressive breakfast menu for a small town spot! Also in Jefferson, about 10 minutes away, County Fair Farm seasonally offers fresh produce, meats, syrup, jams, and other local goods in their farm store. In the fall, there’s apple-picking, a pumpkin patch, and hay rides.
  • We loved this gorgeous cabin. There is enough space for large groups, the kitchen is great, and you can't beat the hot tub! We went for a winter weekend away with friends and it was a great place to unwind and disconnect. Definitely recommend!

  • Beautiful and comfortable log cabin! You will not be disappointed.

  • Greg and Pia's house was even more wonderful than the pictures promote. We stayed for a weekend for a friends wedding in a nearby town. Pia was so thoughtful and turned the house lights on for us as we arrived around 10pm at night. The accommodations were perfect for 3 couples and due to a storm and power outages the groom ended up spending a night with us. The hot tub was wonderful. My husband was actually able to relax. The other ladies and I went for walk, enjoying the beautiful fall foliage and the breathtaking lake. We would definitely stay again if traveling/vacationing in the area.

  • Finding the right space for our large group is a challenge for me every year, but Greg and Pia's place was perfect. The 10 of us slept comfortably (with plenty of sleeping space to spare) and were thrilled to have two large full bathrooms to accommodate us. We were looking for an escape from the city and got exactly what we hoped for. The property is on a quiet road filled with beautiful fall colors and we didn't see or hear another person for the entire weekend. The house was neat and well-stocked with essentials, but the grocery store was only a quick 25 minute drive away if we needed anything additional. The house was a great space for a group and was the site of many family-style meals and game nights for us. We loved the wraparound porch that let us have beautiful views of the foliage and forest around the property, and the large lawn area for outdoor activities. The house is just a short driving distance from a lot of fun fall activities (Damariscotta Lake Pumpkin Regatta, Bailey's Orchard apple picking, and an Amish house that sells amazing baked goods off the front porch). We did SOME adventuring, but mainly found ourselves laughing and lounging at the house. When the weather was nice, we grilled outside and enjoyed our dinners at the large picnic table on the porch while watching the sunset. Greg and Pia were fantastic to work with and responded quickly and professionally to any needs we had. We would definitely welcome an opportunity to rent from them again. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend and couldn't be happier.

  • This place was larger than expected. The layout was great. The property and location were just excellent! The beach was close enough to walk with our little kids and the playground in the yard was a huge hit!

    Liz2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely. It was clean. The property was very pretty. We enjoyed the woodsy setting. Greg and Pia were great hosts!

  • Spacious comfortable home with lovely grounds and a great hot tub. Very relaxing stay.

    Cathy2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a great piece of property Greg and Pia have. They were gracious hosts and responded quickly to all our questions. Having the State Beach close by was an added bonus as well as the swing set at the house for the kids. Plenty of space for a family and friends on a quiet street. We would absolutely stay again!

  • Sumner’s place was perfect for our 1 night in Damriscotta. My brother, my son and I made ourselves at home as we were in town to visit our Mom at the local retirement center. Having the general store available for breakfast and snacks is a bonus. Thank you for a great stay.

This log cottage sits on the water's edge and features full kitchen, 2BR, 1 BA, screen porch. The lake is quiet, ideal for swimming, kayaking and canoeing and yet convenient to shopping and coastal activities.
The screen porch offers fabulous sunset views across the lake.
  • Liked the quiet, the loons, the calmness of the pond in the early morning. Nice short hiking trails near by. A good stay overall! Looking forward to a return trip some time! Thank you!

    Elizabeth2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we needed from a lakeside cabin - peace and tranquility, simple comforts. Matthew’s place was even nicer than we were expecting and he and his parents were very welcoming hosts. We particularly enjoyed exploring the lake in the kayaks and sitting in the porch to eat dinner and listen to the loons in the evenings. This place is magical. We want to come back!

    Laura2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The camp is very clean and has all that is necessary for a wonderful visit. The beds are very comfortable, there’s lots of space to relax indoors or out! We loved the screened in porch! I spent many hours on the dock watching a bald eagle, osprey and a family of loons looking for fish. There seems to be lots of fish, I saw them jumping. I can’t wait to go back!

    Melissa2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, son and I had a wonderful time at Matthew’s place. We arrived to the most amazing sunset overlooking the pond. My husband loved taking the little rowboat out and doing some fishing, and I loved reading while listening to the Loons and watching the hummingbirds. His cottage is simple, but is very homey and has everything you need. Nice and close to lots of restaurants and markets. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway on a beautiful pond then this place is for you. We’ll definitely be back!

  • We had a great time at our cottage on McCurdy's Pond. The cottage was incredibly clean and had a lot of charm. We loved the screened in porch right on the lake. McCurdy's although smaller than some of the other lakes is peaceful and lovely. The location on Turner Road is perfect to all the great things on the Pemaquid Penninsula, Damariscotta, Round Pond, the Lighthouse and two amazing lobster pounds. We can't wait to return next summer.

    Bobbie2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The view is beautiful and pictures can't do it justice. We loved kayaking everyday and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds right outside the windows and the loons on the lake. The surrounding area is very quaint and not touristy (exactly what we were looking for, but a short drive away to tourists spots if that's what you are looking for). We were very impressed with how clean the cabin was. Matt is a great host and would book here again on our next trip to Maine.

Centrally located cottage with water views. New construction, well maintained, private cottage, with water access by pier/dock. Walk over the bridge to get a lobster roll at Red's Eats and explore other shops in Wiscasset, ME. Conveniently close to Damariscotta-Newcastle and Boothbay Harbor. Take a day trip to Popham Beach State Park, head to Camden, ME, or take one of the many boat cruises off the coast of Maine, and end the day with a lobster on the back deck over looking the river.

  • The space is very warm and welcoming. The views are amazing. We found everything to be clean with some sweet touches it made our stay especially nice. The heaters are a radiant type which is very nice instead of blowing warm air out and drying everything. I stayed with my mom and children and found it to meet all of our needs.
