River Cottage was such a gem! The surroundings were like a jungle, the grounds were beautiful and there was fun activities like board games and kayaks. We were even able to borrow a fishing pole and caught a fish! I enjoyed walking around the farm property and river area. My favorite part was access to a lookout tower off the deck. I made my latte each morning and climbed up there to enjoy it while watching and listening to all the birds. Book this place, it's magical!

Our time at the Shearer’s cottage was absolutely magical. My husband and I stayed with our three children for three nights. We were all utterly delighted when we walked in the door - lots of excited gasps from everyone - the surroundings are gorgeous, the property is thoughtfully appointed and spotlessly clean… far enough from the madding crowd to feel peaceful and secluded, yet still a very convenient drive to Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands. Ian and Anna were very friendly and communicative and made us feel totally welcome. Allow time to make the most of this beautiful place. The dawn chorus is glorious! Make sure you opt in for the spa by the river. We really hope we can visit again. Thank you so much Ian and Anna.

Great spot in the heart of Russell! The villa was lovely. A working spa would have been the cherry on the cake.

Gorgeous! Well located, beautiful private cottage. You cannot go wrong booking with Steve, Dot and Charlie. Wish we had time to stay longer; will definitely return.

The bach was lovely, real kiwi bach also Toni was amazing to deal with and left clear instructions on how to get to the bach as well as checking ourselves in Had everything you possibly would need for a trip away I absolutely loved the place and such an awesome area! The beach would be perfect for kids or swimmers who aren't to confident as the waves aren't strong at all but also have the option of a short walk to the end of the beach to a big shallow area with very little to no waves I really recommend this little bach, I fell in love and definitely would stay again!!

If it were possible we'd give this place 10 stars! You won't regret staying here, at your own private slice of Taupo Bay paradise. Whether you're just a couple or with a big group of friends, Gary and Debbie's place is perfect for you. Brilliant communication from area experts. We hope to be back soon 😊

A beautiful, airy house just steps away from one of the loveliest beaches in Aotearoa. A magic spot. Every facility you could want is there. Comfortable beds, nice linen, a lovely kitchen to cook in if you feel so inclined. The hosts were responsive, friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Everything was easy, clean and exactly how we expected it. Booking, check in and check out was uncomplicated. Definitely a great spot if you just want to relax and enjoy! Garden, terrace and house are beautiful and the short walk to the beach is amazing. We would definitely recommend this place and come again!

Wonderful stay in Kohukohu - so peaceful and relaxing with great local history. The cottage was lovely with well equipped kitchen and good bathroom - all spotless. The views from the front deck are incredible and the beds very comfortable. Communication with Olivia was very good and it was all just as described (I don’t know what the previous reviewer was on about). I would highly recommend for a quiet escape in the Hokianga and would definitely return.

We didn’t want to leave! Your warm welcome on our arrival, accompanied by a gorgeous handwritten note, warm sourdough bread, fresh milk and freshly baked walnut chocolate chip biscuits, perfectly epitomised our stay at Cowshed Cottage! We loved the well-thought-out decor, the delightful linens on the comfy bed, and all the welcoming nooks that begged us to enjoy them with a hot drink and a good book in such a peaceful setting. The Cowshed Cottage, and you both, are the blissful warm hug that had us breathing deeply and releasing any stress we didn’t know we needed. One night was not enough! With a longer stay, we might just feel inclined to try out the spectacular gym, although I think cosying down with a glass of something delicious and another book might win out. We can’t wait to return and we will definitely be staying longer next time. Thank you both again for everything.

We are family of four and a senior dog and the cottage is truly beautiful. It is warm and has everything that you need for your stay. Well equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer. The reviews did not lie when they said, the beds are comfortable- they really are. The location is great. Beaches are nearby, small townships are a short drive (20mins) or the local fish n chip shop is less than a 5 min walk- sells a great coffee. Teresa is a great host and responsive to questions. If you are not sure if you should book the cottage- don't be. The reviews on Matauri Shearers Cottage is spot on and I absolutely recommend this place, it had everything we needed.

Joseph's place is the quintessential Kiwi bach. the location is amazing looking straight out over the harbour and fishing from the wharf only meters away. the house itself is exactly as explained a bach, which for us was amazing and just what we needed to unwind. The location is perfect with lots of beaches and walks in the vicinity and Kayaking only meters away. if you want a quiet get away and are happy not to glamp then this place is perfect

This place is a perfect hideaway! It is very secluded and quiet, and has magnificent garden surrounding it. It is only about 5 minute's drive from Russell. I did struggle a wee bit on driveway as did not have a 4WD, but only had a small, quite heavily loaded car! Our friendly host still came and welcomed us even though we arrived later than 6 pm.

This was great from start to finish! Angela is a very welcoming and knowledgable host who took great care of us and her place is a gem! We slept in a very comfortable bed and loved the cute bathroom, but it was Angela's hospitality that would make us coming back in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for having us!

Olive Grove Cottage is one of the best airbnbs that we have stayed (trying hard to recall one that was better). The bathroom had loads of bench space for all our things, the bed was so comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that we needed (including a sharp knife - almost a first!). The two cabins (one for bed and ensuite, and the other the kitchen) were connected by a fabulous expansive patio, partly covered with a sail cloth (just right for a bit of shade from the sun). This patio was a great place to relax, have dinner, and enjoy the view - spectacular. Such a lovely private enclave. To top it off, the herb and vegetable garden were available for what we wanted. Lisa is a fabulous host, who made us feel welcome from our very first contact, with a very quick response time. I couldn't recommend Lisa's place more highly.

What a beautiful location and fantastic AirBnB! The views from the property are stunning and the place itself is very private. The grounds are just amazing. Short walk to the private beach with access to kayaks and SUPs was a massive plus. Although we got hit by cyclone Tam during our stay this was a very cosy place to ride it out and Lisa was always responsive and helpful with questions. Would definitely recommend!

A lovely place to stay, was just what I needed. A great setting with view over the garden and trees. Very close to Kerikeri. The bed was comfortable and good shower too. The outdoor bath was a real treat. I would stay again :)

You can sense from the pictures how special the Waterline is but you’ll only fully grasp it when you enter the place and get to admire the way the light and the water play with each other during sunrise. Take a chance and stay at Carol’s place
