Great spot, close to town and the harbour and a great view. Lovely, warm, clean and tidy. Thanks for having us to stay.

WE stayed one night at the Villa. This is a full house with full kitchen and three bedrooms - we only stayed in one bedroom. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet and nice and dark and we slept very well. The water was very hot and plentiful. Breakfast basics were provided and much appreciated. The house is convenient to downtown Oamaru. We highly recommend the Villa and will stay there again when in Oamaru.

My partner and I were incredibly excited when we found this listing, and it did not disappoint. Jenny was lovely, came to meet us, and gave us helpful suggestions on the area. The cabin itself was immaculately clean, and wonderfully decorated, with lovely art that tied in with the animals kept on their farm. The amenities were good, and the provided breakfast was a wonderful way to ride me over until we ventured into Oamaru for brunch. Jenny showed us around the property in the morning, and let us (attempt to) feed their lovely alpacas and most excitingly, we got to feed a mother and baby highland cow. It was a wonderful experience and we are very keen to come back! It was also lovely that we were able to bring our dog, who also loved the calm vibes of the property, and all the new smells. I would recommend this stay to anyone seeking a nice, relaxing country getaway. Thanks, Jenny, we had an amazing time.

A cute little cosy cabin in a beautiful, tranquil location. I was wanting a getaway from Dunedin for a few days and chanced upon this cabin in Kakanui. I was lucky to have found this enchanted place. Kathrin and Walter were great hosts in going the extra mile in making a shy, private person like me feel comfortable and welcome. They invited me into their home and offered me coffee and kept me warm with their log fire while there was a brief power outage in Kakanui. Their narration of how they first arrived in this country from their home in Switzerland was very interesting and admirable. Kathrin has the gift of being jovial and is a great conversationist. A magical place to wake and watch a beautiful dawn rise above the mist and to sit and hear tui and fantail calling at sunset. Everything you could wish for in a home from home been thought of. Definitely come back again.
