We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! It had such beautiful views right outside the bedroom window, and Waldo & Jirka were so friendly. We were delighted to have such great conversations over breakfast-which was delicious!! As animal lovers, we felt right at home with all of their adorable pets around. 1000/10! We’re already looking forward to our next stay with them!

We came in during the worst storm in Irelands history and Margaret and her son did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. We were treated like family and had a wonderful time with lots of good tea and long chats. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Athlone area.

Brothers Anthony and Vinny have created the most eclectic and comfortable place to stay in all of Athlone which was their family home that they grew up in. It does have a lot of stairs so probably not suited for some people. You will find it on the Castle side of Athlone. Our room was very clean, well decorated, had a comfortable bed and the ensuite was great Anthony and Vinny do provide other rooms with a shared bathroom. One of the best features was the kitchen/ dining and sitting room provided on the mezzanine floor where you could meet and chat with other guests. It was also great that a fridge, microwave, cutlery, crockery cups and glasses were provided so you could make yourself breakfast and heat up food Not only did they provide tea and coffee but they provided little cakes and biscuits. It felt so homely and was close to some nice cafes. I highly recommend Anthony and Vinny’s place for a stay in Athlone.

honestly couldn't have met a better hostess, Mary went out of her way to make sure everyone was looked after. well fed also for breakfast the next morning. stayed here for a wedding held in kilronin. would highly recommend for the price, location and friendly owner.

Lisalway Country Lodge is a luxurious Bed and Breakfast in the townland of Lisalway operated by local couple Pamela and Tommy Cunnane, we are only a 3 minute drive to the village of Castleplunkett and a 9 minute drive to the town of Castlerea. The mill room is a stylish double ensuite. It has fast wifi, tea/coffee facilities, flat-screen tv and the bed is so comfortable. Clean crispy sheets and fluffy towels awaits you for a lovely nights sleep. Riverdale House B&B is just a 7 min walk to Athlone Castle, Sean's Bar and some lovely restaurants. We are in a quiet residential area. If you would like a cooked to order breakfast you can pay at the property.
