Description

The space

There is a double-bed in the room with free wifi--and many shops, grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. On-street parking is easily available.

Guest access

Guests are free to use the ground floor living room, dining room, kitchen, back-deck and yards.

Interaction with guests

We are both professors at local universities, Johns Hopkins University and Towson. As a writer and a theatre director, we are well-acquainted with the arts scene in Baltimore and happy to provide suggestions for what to see and do. We work long hours so may not be around a lot but we will touch base to make sure you are comfortable and help you navigate your stay in Baltimore.

The neighborhood

Charles Village is a mixed-zone (residential and commercial) neighborhood where Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus is located. The Baltimore Museum of Art is several blocks from our home. Charles Village abuts Station North Arts District and Hampden, a quirky neighborhood of second-hand shops, independent boutiques and delicious restaurants.

Getting around

There is a free Hopkins shuttle one block from our house, that gets visitors to Hopkins Hospital. We are walking distance (3/4-mile) from Penn Station where the MARC train to DC and Amtrak both run. City bus service runs on St. Paul and Charles Streets (1- and 2-blocks away).
