Auskerada! Nestled on a wooded 3 acre lot at the end of a long stone driveway you'll find a destination that is the epitome of comfort and charm. Natural in every way and decorated in the finest Adirondack style you'll come back year after year.

Quiet seclusion.

Located on 3 acres and nestled perfectly and quietly among the native woodland of the southern Adirondack mountains(including balsam, hemlock, maple, and oak trees), Auskerada offers a unique and traditional lodging experience, with seclusion unlike most cabins in the area. Waking up to the sounds of nature you'll will find it effortless to unwind from a world of electronics(but we have those too).

As you approach Auskerada you'll notice the rustic charm and care that has gone into such an extraordinary cabin. With all details considered and created by your host, you'll understand why guests come back time and again. From the stone chimney and natural landscaping to its rustic traditional Adirondack railings, you tend to forget the coldness of city life as the log cabin historically exudes warmth and invite even in the dead of winter. You will notice the large inviting promenade style porch along the front of the lodge which harkens back to a day when the porch was the center of neighborly society and conversation. The promenade offers comfortable rocking chairs, ceiling fans, and plenty of lighting for charm and mood including a stained glass post light that bids goodnight to the setting sun, welcoming the moon and the night time serenade of Adirondack wildlife...and asks "How was your day?" when returning from a day of shopping, skiing, hiking, fishing, canoeing, or just a day in the sun.

On the south-facing side is a well thought out screened porch(a must have in the Adirondacks) offering a quaint sitting area for reading or a private romantic breakfast. It's the best way to enjoy the outdoors comfortably from nighttime insects. Also what's most inviting in this space is our new hot tub! Lending itself to the desirability of the cabin, this feature offers a spa-like escape for the fatigued hiker(or (URL HIDDEN) and is a perfect remedy for a chill in the autumn or winter air. As you soak in the CLEAN fresh water of the jacuzzi, you will enjoy the sites and peacefulness of the surrounding woodland. Fresh white towels hang next to the hot tub on rustic fish hangers.

Ok, enough about that.......let's go inside.

Upon entering through the classic front door via keyless entry(your code will be given to you prior to your arrival) you will feel instantly at home. Auskerada's rustic decor is front and center offering a comfort that other cabins cannot provide. The lodge is completely renovated and immaculate right down to the scents, and Adirondack detail that are specifically appointed making you a spoiled guest right from the start. Natural surfaces calm the spirit as an Adirondack getaway is intended to do. Every space is full of detail, comfort, and surprise for the curious traveler. Handmade items, antique finds, and Adirondack art fill these spaces.

Two screened-in spaces are available for outdoor comfort. All guests enjoy Pine's Peak all year round(but crisp autumn days are certainly the best. I enjoy listening to the call of the loons on the lake from this space.

The hot tub is available for use, but requires an additional charge of $35/wkend or $50/week. We like to try to keep our prices a bit lower for guests who do not wish to use the hot tub.

I’m a lifelong resident of the area and I truly enjoy the Adirondacks all year long as well as it's early American history. More specifically I love reading about the historic purpose of the region and the early folklore and campfire "yarns" of the surrounding villages. A perfect vacation for me would be in the mountains experiencing inclement weather sitting by a fireplace with a book and a cup of coffee.

As a hobby, I like to "dabble" in the art of Adirondack furnishings and decor, as you will see many of my pieces throughout my cabins. I'm all about the fine detail. Which in fact drives me nuts and comforts me at the same time.
