Salt of the Earth is a peaceful, private, comfortable and open eco home. Solidly built with recycled materials and passive heating - it's warm in winter and cool in summer. Indoor and outdoor fires and large north-facing kitchen. Plenty of room inside and out for entertaining groups and families.

One-acre retreat with yellow gum and ironbark bushland, close to Jan Juc cliff walks and epic surf breaks including Bells Beach, 5-minute drive to Jan Juc shops and cafes.

The space
Salt of the Earth is a unique space - very inviting and comfortable for large and small families alike. The adventure begins as soon as you cross the wooden bridge at the front entrance.
The house is spacious yet warm with rammed earth walls, exposed wooden beams and gentle internal wooden steps connecting the open living/Dining/Kitchen to the sleeping areas. Our split-level home comprises four bedrooms, the main bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, the second and third bedrooms share a bathroom and separate toilet. The fourth bedroom has a bunk bed and is also an office with access to connect to 2 large monitors, a desk and office chair with a rural outlook. Down the end of the hall is the entertainment lounge. A massive couch and projector connected to WIFI to make for an awesome cinema experience.
The light filled kitchen has large windows for passive heating and large locally designed concrete benches, an induction stovetop and a top of the range coffee machine.
A large north facing deck wraps round the house providing a warm place to relax all year round with comfortable lounge seating and a gas BBQ. The views across the lawn area to native bush are perfect for local birdsong and delightful in the golden hour of the day. Keep a lookout for echidnas, blue tongue lizards and micro bats on sunset. Recently landscaped recycled brick paving and a fabulous outdoor round bar ties the outside spaces to flow for ease of use and relaxation. A fire pit and seating complete the space and make for a great night outdoors.
A hidden gem with a very relaxed vibe, it is a perfect place to get away and soak up the Surf Coast with plenty of activities for all ages to enjoy.
