The Stand Alone is an intimate, earthy retreat made for 2
Our cabin is a sanctuary where forest meets the sea, a quiet place for communion and reconnection with nature.
Amid the salty air and birdsong, our bed looks to the trees and a deep bath with unlimited hot water.
Humble living in luxury, the wood stove keeps things cozy and Belgian cushions are perfect for sprawling out in the evenings.
Located in sleepy Lufra Cove, a magical corner of Eaglehawk Neck.

The space
The Stand Alone was built 30 years ago and the owners at that time believed this land to be a place of great spiritual energy. Our guests regularly remark that they feel strangely calm, at peace and connected with nature during their stay.
Our rejuvenation of the cabin has taken years, it has brought us great craftsmen, friendships, adventures and a treasure trove of discoveries you'll find in the space.

The deep bath and shower are entirely outside, floating above the forest floor and creating the perfect opportunity to luxuriate in nature.

A giant string hammock swings gently in the trees below The Stand Alone, we love to take a blanket down with a good book or just our thoughts for company.

We're all about embracing the laid back lifestyle and the little things that make our corner of the world so special. Go exploring, Eaglehawk Neck and the Peninsula are rugged, filled with natural attractions, deep history and adventures.
Swim in the water, stretch your legs in some of the Southern Hemisphere's most iconic walks, wander the beach, look out for our rich birdlife. Keep an eye out for whales. Read a book, cook a meal, light a fire. Look up at the stars and take a deep, salty breath. Sleep your best sleep.

Eaglehawk Neck is the gateway to the Tasman Peninsula, a magical place that bustles with joy and activity in summer and is equally vibrant in the cooler months when things quieten.

During your stay

We have an active household, ducking about with friends, heading off to the beach, strategising some mad-hat adventure/project or sorting things for our iconic coffee van @cubedespresso up the hill (come visit us for a brew!).
You might see us come and go in the street but we won't seek you out or interact unless you initiate it.
The exception of course is our dog Banjo who loves to roam about happily looking for friendly deer or pademelons - please tell him to go home if he is hanging around or just call us. He is a little shy so will probably steer clear but please do not feed him or let him inside.

Your time in The Stand Alone is yours but feel free to contact us via mobiles or give us a shout with any queries. We just want to make sure you feel comfortable in the way you feel comfortable best.
