We'll be thrilled to welcome you and to help you plan your visit to Merida, Yucatan. NOTE: Unlike many of the beautiful listings in Merida, we don't believe in charging guests a cleaning fee, nor additional for electricity. All we ask is that guests leave the home in good order and use the electricity wisely. Thanks!

The space
Immediately upon crossing the threshold you'll know you've arrived at your home in Merida. The 25 foot ceilings of the living and dining room are sure to impress as well as the beautiful, enormous masonry artwork on the wall. The tasteful yet comfortable furnishings ensure a wonderful stay. Guests will especially enjoy the modern conveniences all the while appreciating the decidedly Yucatecan features. (kitchen island-raised truck), local stone features, carved artwork in the garden, pasta floors, exposed Mamposteria walls) It's a very open floor plan, and while it's on a busy downtown street, the bedrooms have been located away from the street noise. Thick glass Doors and windows on the street side also help to mitigate the noise.

Casa del Confidente is conveniently located a few blocks from the famous Paseo de Montejo, with it's activities, restaurants and museum. There are many fine restaurants in the area, and the main plaza is about 9 blocks away. There is a French cafe offering great capuccinos and fresh breakfasts 1 block away, and two restaurants right on the same block.

Alejandro (Alex) is proudly born and raised right here in Merida, his granparents home was just blocks from Casa del Confidente. When we decided to purchase a home in the historic centro, the lively Santa Ana neighborhood was the obvious choice. We designed and supervised the complete renovation and remodel, taking care to preserve the yucatecan aspects and even add more! There are many design elements built in to the home that can't be found in other vacation rentals in Merida. One of us is here at all times to ensure a smooth stay. We don't use a management company (no absentee landlords). We value our guests and believe they deserve a personal welcome and attention. Alex is Mexican, and Steven has dual citizenship (Mexican and US).
We've been renting homes in several countries on a few continents for the better part of 20 years, as well as having worked in Tourism- We've taken advantage of that experience to provide guests with the sort of experience, service and hospitality that they deserve. Guests will be met by the owner(s) and provided a tour, the keys and any information they may require. We enjoy answering guests' questions regarding activities, restaurants, the home or the area. Some of our guests have visited Merida repeatedly, and prefer their privacy, which we respect. For those who want or need some guidance, it's a pleasure! Our hope is to be as non-intrusive as possible while offering the assistance guests need or want, to have a very memorable, enjoyable stay in Merida. The pool and garden will be maintained twice weekly, or as needed.
