If you want to get away from it all, but not completely fall off the map, this is it: Kalamos, Pelio.

This full-of-light 1970s cottage is at the edge of Kalamos, the sleepy fishing village in southern Pelio; the mystical year-around mountain/peninsula where according to Greek mythology (and Disney’s ‘Fantasia’) Centaurs (half-man-half-horse) trained Achilles for the Trojan war... A paradise for children.

The space
Meters away from the sea, one goes to sleep with the sound of waves, literally, thus, within a day or two, begins to question today's frantic momentum. We recently chose to update the property by reversing our screens and gadget-saturated living: swimming, fishing, reading, even (and perhaps most important) napping are at the core of the experience.
(Of course there is wifi.)
You can fish, cook, or walk to the local taverna, otherwise never-leave-the-property but for the 5 minutes walk to the very calm Marmaro beach. Or you can explore nearby villages, coasts, and Greek food all the way to Trikeri. Pelio’s a treasure.
