Pirates Retreat

A modern 2 bedroom house, located on a private road, with sweeping views of Pirates Bay surf beach all the way out to Hippolyte Rock.
Our property is situated above the Lufra Hotel, Restaurant and Bar, and is a mere 5 minute walk to both Pirates Bay Beach and Tessellated Pavement. The popular tourist attractions of The Blowhole, Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen are an 8 minute drive away. The Port Arthur Historic Site is a 20 minute drive south.

The space
Our property is situated on a private road that is shared with 3 other houses. The house is located on a hill overlooking Pirates Bay. Upon arrival you will be greeted with a Welcome Gift to enjoy. During the months when whales are migrating (May and then September-November) they are often seen having a rest, feeding and playing in Pirates Bay. Species include Humpback and Southern Right whales and even Orcas. Due to the amazing views of the bay from the house whales can be spotted from the master bedroom, lounge room windows and from the deck! There is also a telescope provided to assist in your whale spotting and stargazing. Pirates Bay is a popular surf beach with several different breaks. These can also be seen from the house.
The property has 2 good sized bedrooms, both with views of the beach and ocean. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and wall mounted smart TV. The second bedroom has a triple bunk bed ( double bed on bottom, single on top) and a smart TV.
There is a spacious lounge room with a wall mounted smart TV, DVD player and DVD'S, a selection of board games and an abundance of books. There is also a children's toy box with toddler-aged toys and books. A high chair and Port-A-Cot are available in the master bedroom cupboard.
The well appointed kitchen includes a Smeg 6 burner gas stovetop and electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, French Press, kettle and toaster adjacent to which there is a variety of locally grown and international teas . There is a teapot and cup and saucers in the pantry cupboard. There is a variety of cooking utensils and equipment in the cupboards. The Pantry is stocked with a selection of cereals, and snacks. Locally roasted coffee for use in the coffee machine is located in the freezer.
There is a Pizza Oven located outside the back sliding door. Instructions for this can be found in the Welcome Book.
The house has plenty of off-street parking and is suitable for campervans and boat trailers. Just drive down the driveway and park behind the house.

Where you’ll be

Eaglehawk Neck, Tasmania, Australia

Eaglehawk Neck is located an approximately 90 minute drive, south east, of Hobart. It is an extremely beautiful part of the world with amazing beaches, scenery and land formations. A quiet suburb which becomes more popular in summer it is a perfect base to stay whilst exploring the Tasman Peninsula. Tessellated Pavement, Devils Kitchen, The Blowhole and Tasman Arch are all located in Eaglehawk Neck. From September- April there is a Fish and Chip Van located in the Blowhole car park. These are the best fish and chips we have ever eaten and they also make their own fruit ice creams and venison and rabbit pies.
There are a number of world class bush walks that start and finish at Eaglehawk Neck, some 1 hour return, others are overnight.
The World Heritage Port Arthur Historic Site is a 20 minute drive further south on the Peninsula and is open year round. The historic Site is also the start and finishing point of the Three Capes bush walk.
There are so many beautiful places to explore in our area and we hope you enjoy your stay.
