The space
We are a small, family guesthouse that accepts your privacy but, if desired, also allows you to share in family life. We are happy to introduce you to the secrets of Moroccan cuisine, bring you the traditional tea ceremony or make music together in the evening.

Location

Mhamid el Rhozlane, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

In the past, completely isolated from tourism, Mhamid has become a (secret) tip for authentic desert tours. The town offers a colorful mixture of old and new: simple, ancient clay buildings lined with multi-storey houses, off-road vehicles share the dusty road with donkey carts, women in traditional clothes scurry through the streets, men with blue turbans, often in jeans and Dressed in a t-shirt, they enjoy Thé Menthe in one of the small cafes, jocularly called Berber whiskey by the Moroccans, while animal sounds, engine sounds and the call of the muezzin mix in the background. A road leads through the village directly into the desert. Only a few meters away begins the silence and vastness of the Sahara. The air is pure, the head is clear, the soul calm. Our house is located about ten minutes walk from the center, literally at the entrance to the desert. An ideal place to become quiet and relaxed.

Brahim: Me and my family are Nomads from the Moroccan desert. We know the desert by heart. The growing drought forced us to leave the Sahara and settle in Mhamid about 20 years ago. What remains are a great knowledge and love of the desert. For over 15 years I lead tourists through the desert and therefore, I have a lot of experience. My passion for music took me to Europe, where I performed, among others, at the Paléo Festival in Nyon, Switzerland. Yvonne: I grew up in Switzerland and work as a journalist. People and their stories interest me as much as the beauty of the desert and the moroccan culture. Together we offer trips to the desert. I as an organizer in the background, he as an expert on the way.
