Awaken to Sunrise over Haleakala and the North Shore, listen to the sound of surf and local birds, and watch the ocean and harbor action- Surfers, Kiteboards, Sailboards, and Canoes as well as weekly Cruise ship visits. This is a quiet local neighborhood with a secluded back yard overlooking the harbor, ocean and sacred preservation lands. Hosts live on-site for assistance as needed, otherwise allow guests to enjoy their peace and solitude during the evenings after the day's adventures.

The space
This breezy, comfortable, tranquil, and private ohana features a large equipped kitchen and sliding glass doors opening up into your own private, sectioned off lanai / outdoor dining/ lounge area. There is a large Smart TV, and self-coding safe in the closet for your valuables. The entry garden has an outdoor shower, storage for beach supplies, and the shared laundry area.
Additional guests (beyond 2) may be allowed with permission, assuming it is children travelling with parents. Fire code does not permit more than 2 adults in the room.
Our property features a large shared yard with ocean view, gazebo, and grilling patio for your enjoyment. There are three units on property- each with their own private entrances, cooking areas, bathrooms, and private outdoor dining. We enjoy watching distant views of planes arriving and landing. or the various ships arriving or departing the port.

Residing on property are a friendly miniature Schnauzer named Bert and shy black cat named Hunter.

Guest access
Private parking spot for one car, private entrance, and private lanai overlooking the water. Backyard features and Laundry area are shared. Grilling area available on request.
Do not rely on the map pinpoint to find us- it only shows the general area. Booked guests will receive full address, self-check-in instructions, house manual, and WiFi codes before check in.

Please keep screens or doors into your unit from the back yard closed at all times to prevent doggie escapes or unauthorized gecko entries! We have very few mosquitoes, but you may see some flies. The feral chickens you may hear help keep the bug populations under control.

The island also has plenty of bugs- please do not leave any food out and dispose of food waste to prevent ants and roaches. There is a dumpster for your trash by the boat in the main driveway. Please separate recyclables and place behind the dumpster. Pickups are on Monday and Thursday mornings- early!

There is an outdoor shower to rinse off beach sand!

Please do not use towels or linens for removal of makeup or stains. Use makeup removal pads or paper towels. Stains that are cannot be removed or damages beyond normal wear and tear, requiring replacement or repair will be charged to your security deposit. Please report any damages or repairs needed immediately so we can correct the problem.

As of Jan 1 2018 the State of Hawaii requires all tourists pay a 14.42% "Tourist Tax" which is the combine Transient Accommodations Tax plus General Excise Tax. This is already factored into your room fee.

We are very centrally located with easy access to all parts of the island, and within minutes of all major amenities- Airport, Hospital, shopping, restaurants, theater, beaches, and area attractions.
We are within walking distance to Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Keopuolani Regional Park, YMCA, Baseball and Football Stadiums, Botanical Gardens, Saturday Farmer's Market and Flea Market, and public transportation.
It's just a short drive to Iao Valley State Park, Waihee Coastal Dunes. Iao Theater, Wailuku Town and many other spots to explore.
This is a quiet local neighborhood so we have strict quiet hours between 8pm and 8am. For the party scene head to Paia, Kihei, or Lahaina, then return for some tranquility and relaxation.

We’ve been traveling to Hawaii for many years to visit family here, and have now retired to Maui to be near our Daughter and granddaughter, after long and fulfilling careers in Health Care and Education on the East Coast.

We live on site and can assist with recommendations of restaurants, shopping, hikes, or other attractions. During the day we are maintaining the yard, working on house projects, and running errands from 9 am to 6 pm-ish.
