Nestled in between Basalt and Carbondale, and a 35 minute drive to Aspen, El Jebel is a prime location for those looking to experience the Roaring Fork Valley.

Whether you are visiting to hike, see the Maroon Bells, bike, ski, soak in the hot springs or are in town visiting family, El Jebel is a great jumping off point and generally no more than a 30 minute drive to whatever brings you to our lovely valley.

The space
The Sopris Room is a room in our three bedroom, 2 bathroom 1,532 sq/ft single level mobile home built in 1992.

The floor plan is split so the two guest bedrooms are on opposite end of house with separate bathroom. Your room has a queen size bed and the bathroom is shared with the other guest room.

Hosts live in the home too and are more than happy to provide recommendations of where to dine and what to do.

Comfortable lounge area with views overlooking Mt. Sopris.

Fully stocked, vegetarian friendly kitchen, complete with Vitamix blender, electric tea kettle, sandwich press and large counter top area for those who want to prepare meals at home. Guests have full range of the kitchen, but due to our beliefs, we ask you to respectfully refrain from cooking meat or fish in the house.

We think our place is awesome but here are things to consider before booking:

-bathroom is shared with other guest room and in the warmer months, the glamping tent set up

-there are fans in each room but no air conditioning

-While our animals are well socialized and very friendly, for the sake of you and our dogs, we strongly suggest seeking other accommodations if you are scared of or allergic to dogs as there are dogs living here and I do board dogs as well

Guest access
Guests have access to living room, kitchen, dining room, and yard spaces.

Other things to note
If there is a large amount of snow, the driveway may not be ideal for a 2WD as it is on a slight incline. We have seen a Prius make it into the driveway in snow, but I just want to give a heads up just in case. We do shovel the driveway, but the driveway is not paved, it is wood chips.

Our home is located in a mobile home park. Our neighborhood has a tucked away feel despite it being just minutes from highway 82. It less than a five minute drive to Willits center which houses Whole Foods, Starbucks and a number of great restaurants.

Our neighbors are kind, respectful, hard working families who are generally very quiet during the winter months and occasionally have family BBQ's on the weekends during the summer months.

During your stay
My partner and I live in the home and my hosting style is flexible. I love to socialize with guests, but can also give them privacy if that is what they desire.

Since I may or may not be at work when you arrive, I make sure to send detailed check in information and always have my phone on me.
