Where to start .... I loved everything about Bali Cottage, from the outdoor kitchen in the front to the outdoor (but totally private) bathroom / shower in the back. It is exactly as beautiful as the pictures shown. The carved wood panels & exquisite Asian decor really do make you feel like you are in Bali (another favorite place). It is extremely comfortable while providing a real connection with nature. My personal favorite was doing yoga each morning outside on the front porch as the sun was rising and the birds were waking up. The beach is a very short walk and gentle ocean sounds can be heard from the cottage. Karen is a wonderful host and very enjoyable to share conversation with. If I had to choose one word to describe Bali Cottage it would be Magical.

The location is superb, amazing; there aren't enough words. There is a sense of community (especially if you take the time to talk with the Aunties that caretake Manini Beach) that is unmatched in our extensive AirBnB experience. The place is indeed "quirky" -- spacious, comfortable, ornate -- but it's outdoor living in the best Big Island tradition. Breezes blow through innumerable holes; the Ficus grows through the cottage, not over it. Outdoor living includes mosquitoes. We imagine that folks who live here year-round don't notice the little buggers, but we did. The shower is particularly wonderful. Kitchen is workable.

What a unique place, so close to the Captain Cook monument. Literally a stones throw from the beach and tucked away in the trees, only a 15 minute drive to downtown Kona. I really enjoyed my stay at this peaceful retreat with an outdoor kitchen and bathroom. We really enjoyed having breakfast on the porch and listening to the birds and nice Hawaiian music left in the house! Just make sure you light the citronella candles when you go outside at night! They were nice enough to provide all the bug spray and candles we needed. Also, greeted us upon arrival but let us be by ourselves. Would definitely recommend it

Enjoyed my two days at the cottage. It was close to the local park for snorkeling-swimming and I enjoyed the outdoor shower. Bring bug repellent as it is in mosquito territory and much of the space has open air elements.

What a unique space! If you ever wanted to feel like an Indonesian Keebler elf (being that it is an amazingly decorated Bali style cottage, built in a tree) then this is the place for you. Unique details and decorations kept surprising us even after our fourth day there. The bay that is located steps away from the cottage has some world class snorkeling! Staying here was a really unique and amazing experience!
