Near Skye and easy for Loch Ness, Oban, Inverness and Fort William. This lovely old Highland cottage is perfect for couples, Highland explorers, and families. Stay for a few days. There's lots to do: cycling, swimming, kayaking, wildlife watching, whisky tasting, listening to live local music... or just doing nothing!
For colder months, there is also a cosy log burning stove.

The space
The cottage is an old building reimagined as a modern, warm and cosy space, great as a refuge from the excesses of Scottish weather. Traditional bathrooms and a cottage kitchen allow guests to enjoy a home from home in the Highlands.

Where you’ll be

Highland, Scotland, United Kingdom

The woodland setting affords glimpses of eagles, buzzards, pinemartins, foxes and badgers, and down the hill you will meet seals, otters and herons. A walk through the green gates will bring you into Arisaig Village, some 2 miles away. Here, the Hotel has live music on Friday nights and a wide ranging bar menu celebrating local seafood and meat. We recommend trips on the Shearwater to Eigg, Muck or Rum, and a journey to Knoydart (on the Western Isles ferry) is always magical. Skye is just 1/2 hour away by ferry, and Loch Ness about one hour distant.

We, (Pete and Jo's) family home is Eagle Cottage, having eco-restored it over the past three years. We are both keen on the outdoors and can organise trips out kayaking and seal watching in the area, climbing local mountains such as Ben Nevis, or else take you identifying wild flowers along the coastal paths in the area. We often go for wonderful walks in the area from rock-pooling missions to white sand beach strolls to rugged moorland hikes with spectacular views out to the islands - we can help with all of that if you'd like to experience them. We enjoy cooking, and use foraged stuff, fish we catch, local venison and highland beef as well as loads of pulses, spices... and invention. Pete's eldest son, Sam, is a chef in London, so we learn from him when he comes to visit. Charlie, our little lad, is two years old, and was born at the semi renovated cottage - he'll be pleased to welcome you to the Highlands. We love: Winter. Wood burning stoves. Whisky. Biodynamic wine. The sea.
