Other things to note
Pituba beach ...
The name of this beach "Pituba" has indigenous origin; has a long strip of fine yellow sand and the water of the sea has greenish tones with large waves in certain stretches.
Along the shore of Pituba Beach, there are many shops, bars and restaurants. A wall of stones separates the beach from the boardwalk at certain points. In others, the separation has stones and coconut trees. The border also has bodybuilding equipment, bike path and jogging track.
In some places even beach chairs can be rented to enjoy a long sunny day, but unfortunately it is not suitable for sea bathing because it is polluted due to underground sewage being thrown into the sea.
Due to the lack of water conditions, swimmers often go to the Jardim dos Namorados or Jardim de Alah, a lit bit ahead the Pituba beach towards Itapoan, to enjoy the sports courts and hold outdoor meetings. In front of the Valentine's Garden, there is an immense coral reef that is worth appreciating.

Security
Salvador is a big city, with all the problems that the great Brazilian metropolises have, people who already is accustomed to living in a big city knows that like every big city we must be careful, as always, with ours belongings. As in any large city that receives many tourists, we must beware when we visit sights and places fuller ...
And, we should avoid what you would normally avoid in your own city like walking alone through dark alleys, counting money on the street, making it easy to thefts action by leaving your cell phone, machine, and your belongings unattended ... - the same as in many places around the world, with very few exceptions.

Salvador is a relatively quiet city yes and our people are receptive, hospitable, friendly and welcoming. Here you have several incredible places to see, and at Porto and Farol da Barra you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world - it's incredible!

The beaches, even full of tourists, are very quiet and there is no trawler around here (as is common on the beaches of Rio or on the coast of São Paulo), but, as I said, every metropolis has its problems, so: carefull with "swindlers” or "tricksters" as we call them here, they are everywhere - especially in the tourist spots - i.e., those people who surround you and try to sell anything, be Ribbons of Senhor do Bonfim, bracelets, maps, or offering themselves as a tour guide, etc. They are quite insistent, even inconvenient ...
Just do not bother or let them to persuade you on these moments.
And be careful when taking pictures of capoeira practitioners, or Bahian Acarajé Women because most of them usually charge for it, even if they say there is no charges, they will ask you later for a "collaboration".
Do not feel obliged or embarrassed, say no and that is it!

I do not think it's anything to worry about!

Think of a beautiful place !! That's where you'll be. With lovely people, who love to receive tourists, where the food is from the gods, the food here is " for eat kneeling"" - as they say here; with wonderful beaches and a historic center rich in monuments dating from the 17th to 19th centuries, because Salvador was the first colonial capital of Brazil and the city is one of the oldest in the New World (founded in 1549 by Portuguese settlers) - and that is wonderful and worth knowing deeply!

Relax and enjoy!
And ... SORRY, why ARE YOU IN BAHIA!
