Winter Bay Cottage is a modern Finnish log cabin with all the creature comforts of home plus more.
We have a fully equipped bathroom and kitchen as well as traditional sauna with a wood fired hot tub.
It is located in Central Finland and within 30 mins drive to the attractions of Ähtäri that includes the Zoo that hosts pandas, a golf course and an outdoor tree top rope adventure park (Flowpark). It is 45 mins away from Tuuri where Finland's famous shopping centre in the countryside is based.

The space
We built the cottage in 2014. We wanted to build a modern cottage that was environmentally friendly while offering all the creature comforts of home.

Visiting Winter Bay Cottage provides an authentic Finnish summer cottage experience be it summer or winter. Enjoy an traditional Finnish sauna, take the rowing boat out on the lake or just laze in the hot tub. You can enjoy all that Finland's nature and culture has to offer by taking a vacation like a Finn.

There is a separate house and sauna building. In the house there are 2 bedrooms and in the sauna building there is a space with a double sofa bed.

For cooking we provide some basic staples for cooking such as oil, spices and dried herbs, flour and sugar so you do not need to purchase those. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need.

There is also a selection of Blu-rays, dvds and books available as well as books in English and Finnish that you may borrow during your stay. We also have a Wii with a selection of family games including wii fit, wii sing and wii party that are nice to play together.

We also provide outside games and there is a 4m trampoline that you can enjoy in the summer months.

The house is built from large logs and has a ground source heat pump that takes heat from the lake to heat the house and warm the hot water (yes even in winter).

Where you’ll be

Keuruu, Finland

You will be based in the heart of Finnish nature. Central Finland is famous for its lakes and forests. If you want to be in the heart of the countryside but within a short drive to attractions then this is the place for you. The cottage is isolated, there is probably no-one in the local area during your stay. There is only one other cottage in the near area and this is almost always vacant.
