Visit and enjoy the serenity of Island Lights Bungalow on Aore Island. Do as little or as much as you wish. Swim in our crystal clear shaded waters, snorkel, cycle, or just sit and read by the ocean in our swinging chairs, with a nice cold drink. Enjoy a relaxed BBQ in our Nakamal. The choice is yours. See if you can spot the fire flies that flit around the garden on a warm balmy night. They are as magical and calming as the palm trees swaying in the breeze.

The space
Our little piece of paradise will see you relaxing quite quickly as you become used to "island time". Take off your watch and just enjoy the day as it comes. No hurry.

Guest access
Across from the bungalow is our main house and there you will find a washing machine and also an iron if needed. Just ask us.

Other things to note
There are direct flights from Brisbane to Santo which take under three hours or you can go via Port Vila . Flights also leave Sydney via Port Vila to Santo. As this is a self contained bungalow with cooking facilities it is recommended that you perhaps have a shop before coming over to the island. THERE ARE NO SHOPS ON AORE ISLAND. There is however an excellent resort that serves superb food for your first night stay if you wish. To get to the main island which is Santo, you can be taken across by a local boat for a charge of 1000 Vatu which is equivalent to about $12.00 AUD each way. We can arrange for you to be picked up at the airport and brought down to the wharf for 1000 Vatu ($12.00).

Location

Aore, Sanma Province, Vanuatu

There are only a few vehicles on Aore, which makes it great for either walking or cycling around and seeing the country side. Whether it is the jungle or the beautiful coloured waters of the Segond Channel there is always a view to be seen. The Ni-Vanuatu people are very friendly and even our livestock are too interested in eating to be bothered by anyone.
