I am confident you will enjoy your stay in this small community that hosts one of two anglophone populations on the islands. Hospitality abound as you visit with the locals at the local wharf and sometimes even hitch a ride to fish some mackeral! A very quiet area with a rich history and stories of shipwrecks. Free firewood provided for the outdoor firepit as well.

The space
Small one bedroom chalet located in a quiet picturesque village about 25 minutes from the main island and ferry terminal. A two minute walk from a fishing port and beach and 10 minute walk to a more secluded beach. Overlooks a tranquil bay.

Where you’ll be

Grosse-Île, Québec, Canada

My neighbourhood was settled mainly by people who shipwrecked here from Scotland, Britain, Ireland and even Russia. Everyone who remains in the community has a strong history and ancestral ties to the island. We are an Anglophone minority nestled in an Acadian archipelago.

I was born and raised here. Now I teach math and science at the only remaining Anglophone school on the islands. I really enjoy crafting and working with my hands and all forms of physical activity. I love to socialise if people are so inclined.
