We are situated in Kwa Zulu-Natal on the border of the Umtamvuna Reserve.
The powerful energy pervading our beautiful retreat, as well as the breath-taking views of the Umtamvuna River valley, mouth and beach, make it an immediate choice for anyone wanting to heal themselves or experience a powerful spiritual experience.
Our holistic approach to life focuses on providing a tranquil escape from the everyday stresses. At God’s Window we offer you the opportunity to slow down, reflect, recharge.

The space
Our holistic approach to life focuses on providing a tranquil escape from the everyday stresses. A clear mind, healthy body and positive mental attitude harmonises the mind and emotions. At God’s Window we offer you the opportunity to slow down, reflect and recharge.

The main house is fully equipped and has 3 bedrooms which can accommodate up to 6 persons at a time. The first 2 bedrooms have private balconies and share a bathroom. The main bedroom is separate and has an en-suite bathroom and beautiful views. The unit has a large, open-plan foyer, dining room and kitchen, which lead out onto a patio. During the low season the main bedroom and the rest of the house, without access to the rest of the bedrooms on the other level, can be booked as a whole for 2 guests if available.

There is a private lapa with braai facilities and a laundry with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

There is a separate apartment (flat) with 1 bedroom, a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet. It has an open-plan kitchen and a covered patio which looks out into the forest. The apartment (flat) can also be booked separately for 2 guests.
The main house has a TV with DStv. Guests have access to the swimming pool and gym.

Please refer to the photos section to note the steps to the dwelling from the garage area and the steps inside the dwelling to main bedroom and secondary rooms. We have sufficient storage tanks for additional water supply in case of municipal water restrictions or outage.

Recommended Restaurants/ Coffee Shops:

The Pont. Pub and Restaurant. Light lunches and or light meals and breakfast on weekends. Down Old Pont Road, at end of Old Pont road. In Old Pont Resort next to the Umtamvuna River. Open for late lunches and dinners.
Open for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.
No entry fee for persons that go to the restaurant. Rules might have changed
Nice setting. Under new ownership and we are unable to comment on the quality of their food.

Beaver Creek Coffee Estate. Restaurant and Coffee Shop. Up Izingolweni Road, just after space center on the right you will find the Coffee Estate on left side of Izingolweni Road. Open daily for breakfast and lunches. No entry fee. A must to visit.

Clearwater Estate and Mountain Bike Trails and viewing deck into Umtamvuna Gorge. Ginger and Thyme Coffee Shop. Up Izingolweni Road, just past pass Beaver Creek Coffee Estate. At Coastals (Farm store on left), turn left onto dirt road. Follow signs. Open daily from 08:00 to 16:00 No entry fee. R 5 per person to view from view deck into Umtamvuna river gorge. Worth the visit.

Spuds Pub and Grill. Mac Lane Ramsey Ave Port Edward. No views. Excellent value for money. Open 8:00 to 11:30 daily. Live music on occasion.

Ramsey Gardens Coffee Shop and Grill Cnr Ramsey and Owen Eliis Drive Port Edward. No views. Excellent value for money. Warm and cosy atmosphere. Unlicensed but you are welcome to bring your own drinks. Open Tuesday to Saturday 8:00 to 19:00 and Sunday 8:00 to 14:00

Bootleggers Pub and Restaurant. Next to Windwood Lodge in Port Edward on way to beach. No views. Excellent dinners. You have to have patience. If you are a pub person, we will suggest sit in the pub, play some pool, talk to some friendly locals while waiting for dinner.

The Estuary Hotel. On main road to Durban, about two kilometers from Port Edward traffic lights. Spectacular view. Good for breakfast, lunches and supper.



The Cow Shed. On main road to Durban just past The Estuary Hotel. Turn left into Mattison Square.
Coffee shop with view over part of Macadamia farmland. Breakfast and light lunches. Fresh farmhouse breakfasts and lunches.

South Coast Sun. On main road away from Durban just other side Umtamvuna Bridge. Great views from Spur and Chicos Buffet Restaurant. Also for light meals at Surfers next to swimming pool.
For the extremely hungry and a special dinner, we will suggest Chicos f
or supper. The rest we will suggest use for breakfast and light lunches. R 10 per person entry fee.

Beach Bobbies on Port Edward main beach.
It was closed for some time. We were notified that it will open for the December holidays. Great setting. We are unable to comment on the food, under new management.

Prior reservation necessary for all of the above.

Mac Bananas. On main road to Durban. Very expensive. Large signs on left. Breakfast and light lunches. Have patience.

Places of interest to visit:

Old Pont Resort.
Canoe up the Umtamvuna river to leopard beach. Leopard Beach can be viewed from Clearwater Estate view deck. Request that our bass canoe be made available one day prior to going for this excursion.
Row down to the beach and stop over on several river beaches on the way.
R 40 day visitor entry fee (per family) between 07h00 and 16h00, if not visiting the restaurant at Old Pont Resort.

Umtamvuna Nature Reserve Hiking Trails.
Just before entering Old Pont Resort, stay on the tar road to the right. Just before Eden Wilds Estate entrance, turn left towards river on dirt road. It end at the entrance to the Reserve. Walks are clearly marked. King Fisher walk half hour. Lourie walk 1 hour. Fish Eagle walk 4 hours. For longer walks, please get compass from Marcel. R 20 per family if the conservationist is on duty.

Red Desert.
Is reputed as the smallest desert in the world. We suggest the usage of our mountain bikes to ride there. Always keep the mountain bikes with you and or attended to. It is a relative easy ride and will take about half hour to three quarter hour to reach from Gods Window. PLEASE DO NOT RIDE MOUNTAIN BIKES INSIDE THE AREA. PLEASE PUSH THEM. No entry fee.

Wild Waves Water Park
At Wild Coast Sun. Open out of season Wednesday to Sunday 10h00 to 16h00. Entry fee for use of amenities.

Various Golf Courses.
