About this listing
Hey there! Gwen and I just graduated from St. Olaf College and moved to Minneapolis. We live in a cozy apartment with a stunning skyline view. We have a small guest bedroom with a comfy bed. Come stay with us and we'll make you feel at home, away from home :)
Our apartment building is up there among some of the oldest buildings in the area. That means it has lots of character! We are in the process of giving our home a face lift and so far we are happy with the progress. Overall, the apartment has wood floors, wood moulding, a very open layout, and lots of natural lighting which are all aspects we fell in love with! Your room is a small room with a comfy twin sized bed. Space heater for your use, as we turn down the heat at night. There is a beautiful skyline view from your room as well. Hope you feel comfortable here :)
Full access to our kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and your own room. Feel free to use any of the amenities in those areas! Also, there is a washer and dryer in a different area of the building you can use - $1.50 per cycle. We want you to feel like our space is your space :)
We have a spare key for you to use so you may come and go as you please! If you lose the key we will require that you pay for our locks to be changed.
Caution: It is a second floor apartment and the steps are a bit steep.
Interaction with guests
We enjoy getting to know our guests! Also happy to give you space if you prefer. Between the two of us we are quick to respond to messages via Airbnb chat and/or texting. We are both very busy though as we have full time jobs, so don't feel bad if you don't see one or the other with us very much.
Other things to note
We have an 11 month old kitten, Freyja. She's very friendly and has a lot of energy! Must be comfortable around cats.
New addition! A Ball Python named Loki. If you are uncomfortable with snakes, it's not a problem. Ball Pythons are nocturnal so he spends most of his time hidden. If you are interested in seeing/holding him just ask one of us and we are happy to take him out. He's very shy, but friendly.
Public spaces should be kept neat, but your room does not need to be. Do not take anything that is not yours, that includes food and beverages. Drinking is fine, just don't make a fool of yourself. No smoking indoors, outside is okay. Respect quieter hours when one or both of us is sleeping. Any aggressive behavior towards our cat will not be tolerated. Overall, just respect that this is our home and our lives :)
