Friends say I am the Host-ess with the Most-ess. I have never met a stranger. For almost 20 years, whenever friends, family, or friends of friends came to Baltimore- they would stay with me. So hosting Airbnb guests in my home was a natural extension. My goal is always to ensure the best stay possible for my guests. But most arrive as guests and leave as friends. And some feel more like family than guests.
Here in my home in Bolton Hill, I have hosted short term guests for the last 5 years. But I can't do it all myself. My brother David is my co-host. And our friend Blanca also assist from time to time. And if you stay at our Bolton Hill location, you'll meet our two feline hosts-- Alfie and Sebastian. You will likely meet one at least of us when you arrive.
Being an Airbnb host has been such an amazing experience... that when budget cuts resulted in layoffs earlier this year, I felt like it was a sign. They say if you do what you love, you'll never work another day in your life. Some days I am still amazed that I get paid to do this. And this summer, I partnered with my brother to make his home our third Airbnb location this summer!
After many years of experiencing hospitality around the world, I have brought home some of the best ideas from other amazing hosts and hotels to share with my guests. But if there is anything I've missed, please let me know. I am always happy to improve upon the guest experience!
I am slowly exploring the globe, one corner at a time and love that AirBNB lets me do that! When I can't travel, getting to meet people from other countries and learn about their world from the comfort of my own home is pretty great. Learning about their lives, food and culture-- and sharing mine is what makes the AirBNB experience so unique.
I love the sights, tastes and sounds of Charm City and welcome the opportunity to share some of my fave things with you! Need some restaurant or entertainment suggestions? I'm your girl!
After almost 20 years working in politics, government and non profit work, I left my day job to manage my rental properties full time. I still consult with non-profit and government agencies doing communications and community and government relations. I also volunteer with and support a few different animal rescue groups and shelters/transitional housing for people who need a little help to get their lives together.
Both my kitties - Alfie and Sebastian- were rescued strays. AirBNB helps me support the great work done by some amazing, dedicated people. My love for gardening and flowers can be seen in the beautiful courtyard I share with my neighbors and private backyard. I am a member of several neighborhood associations and am the co-president of the Bolton Hill Garden Club which works very hard to raise money to help beautify the neighborhood. As you wander through this beautiful neighborhood of Bolton Hill, you may see signs from the Garden Club on some of our beautification efforts.
If you are ever interested in joining me on a volunteer effort while here in town, let me know. In all things, my motto has always been, the more the merrier!
David works as an attorney for the Federal Government and is a graduate of U of Maryland Law School. He has been a resident of Federal Hill since 2010 and now lives around the corner in Otterbein.
