My husband and I needed a getaway and booked basically the first place we found through our search, and were SO pleasantly surprised! We didn't know the area but walked about 5 miles around the lakes and to eat on Hennepin Ave, al from the mansion. The mansion itself was a nice retreat and Sam was a great host. Would definitely go back in a heartbeat! Such cool history and close to everything you need.

The mansion has fascinating history, and really feels luxurious to stay in. The hosts are super welcoming and friendly, and their dog Madonna is an adorable delight. Will definitely be staying here again

Such a wonderful place to stay for business or pleasure! I arrived late (around 10pm) and Sam stayed up for me. There were snacks and bottled water in the room which was wonderful because I was hungry. I really appreciated the breakfast and especially the coffee. The house is absolutely beautiful and the owners encouraged me to explore. I was in town for a conference and walked to the conference location (walkable to both the Hyatt Regency and the Convention Center). There's a park nearby as well. The only thing that took a second to get used to was the noise the radiator made in my room. I've never had a radiator before and when it kicked on the first time I nearly fell out of my bed! But I'll take a noisy radiator for a beautiful house and wonderful hosts any day. If I'm ever in Minneapolis again I will absolutely be back!! Madonna (the great dane) and I were fast friends and I miss her already. Thank you!!

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and it was perfect for us. The house is gorgeous, full of ornate rugs and antiques, with lots of old photos, articles, and documents about the house and neighborhood. While the space looks quite formal, the hosts and their very sweet and well-behaved Great Dane create a very relaxed and homey atmosphere. We stayed in a room with a shared bath, which worked out fine. The only aspect that wasn't perfect was that we could hear our neighbors coming and going, and they could hear us. But we knew that would be a possibility and are glad we chose this historic BnB with warm and helpful hosts over a cookie cutter hotel. I hope to come back soon!
