The Loft is close to Mount Vernon's art and culture; four blocks from the Baltimore's Washington Monument, the Peabody Conservatory and the Walter's Art Gallery. There are many restaurants and shops. It is a good place for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers, only 1 block from the Light Rail. The space has utilitarian charm. Enjoy hanging out at nearby coffee shops, wine bars, and having a pleasant time.

The space

Utilitarian Space providing basics with a pleasant flair. Great light.

Guest access

Private entrance access to second floor loft with full bath and kitchenette with microwave and electric espresso maker. Coffee / Tea / Bottled water / Light local breakfast items available.

Interaction with guests

With our design studio below and house minutes away, we are easily available for any questions and to offer suggestions for a great stay. The area has much established and many new features to enjoy.

Other things to note

The studio is located in an urban environment. There is pedestrian traffic and street noise. Light sleepers may want to utilize our white noise sound machine when staying over. I personally like the 'fire' setting.

Also, the wood floors are the original floors. Please be weary of splinters if barefoot.

Karen's loft is comfortable, peaceful, and beautifully done. It was a great place to rest after days exploring the city! There were lots of thoughtful touches, and check in and check out were a breeze. Highly recommend!

I stayed at Karen and David's loft for two short nights while on business in DC. The loft has an incredible design aesthetic to it, which has an almost cinematic quality. Coffee and breakfast provided were great, amenities were all included, and the location is close to Lightrail/MARC stations. I'll definitely be back!

We stayed at Karen's cozy and well designed place for 4 nights. We were happy to walk everywhere and explore the museums, cafes and different neighborhoods in the area. We were always happy to come back to our little hideaway stocked with all the amenities and special treats like fantastic coffee, yogurt and nice shampoo!. The noise of the city didn't bother us and we slept well. We only have wonderful comments and memories of our stay at Karen's place. Exactly as advertised!

We had a great time at this apartment! We didn't spend too much time there, but the decor was fun, there was coffee in the morning, and the shower/lush products were great. Perfect place for our stay in Baltimore. Also a short walk to some nice restaurants and monuments/museums. Awesome place!

Very neat and tidy place! Exceptionally clean and a great location! If you're driving-in, the street parking around the area is $2/hr 8a-6p. Other than that love my stay here.

Karen User ProfileKaren is a superhost.

I am an architect/ artist in the design practice, MANIFOLD design, with my partner, David Naill.
We make furniture, sculpture installations & work on small urban restoration and rural projects. We live and work in downtown Baltimore.

One summer, pre-Airbnb, David and I traveled through Europe via train & stayed with different people offering available rooms. We had amazing experiences, including staying on a boat in Amsterdam, in an Italian palazzo, & in some very cool modern flats. Our hosts were charming. We have been together since and now have two teenagers! The experiences as a guest & host through Airbnb feel similar and I have met great people!

I love visiting Italy as much as possible and have participated in the last three Venice Architecture/ Art Biennales as well as the Fuorisalones in Milan. I am a considerate and neat guest that hopes to be out enjoying most of the day but appreciates a pleasant space to relax and recuperate.
