The space

Utilitarian Space providing basics with a pleasant flair. Great light.

Guest access

Private entrance access to second floor loft with full bath and kitchenette with microwave and electric espresso maker. Coffee / Tea / Bottled water / Light local breakfast items available.

Interaction with guests

With our design studio below and house minutes away, we are easily available for any questions and to offer suggestions for a great stay. The area has much established and many new features to enjoy.

The neighborhood

Located along the edge of one of the most beautiful and historic neighborhoods in Baltimore. Our street is home to many artists, low-key, but also part of the Bromo Seltzer Art's District. Walk to anywhere.

Getting around

The light rail is one block away and Baltimore Penn Station is a 20 minute walk north. Many Zipcar locations nearby.

Other things to note

The studio is located in an urban environment. There is pedestrian traffic and street noise. Light sleepers may want to utilize our white noise sound machine when staying over. I personally like the 'fire' setting.

Also, the wood floors are the original floors. Please be weary of splinters if barefoot.

This is a terrific space, centrally located and near public transit. Both the light rail and Penn station are within easy walking distance, as are a number of eateries and attractions. Karen's place was spotlessly clean and the "extras" she provides (breakfast items, COFFEE!, shower gels and shampoos etc) set this stay apart as exceptional. It was an ideal example of what Air BnB can (and should) always be!

Karen and David were awesome hosts and this place is wonderful! I wanted to stay in Mt. Vernon to see how it would to live there as I'm moving to Baltimore. I loved the studio so much I asked if I could move in! The details of decor and what they provide in little amenities (coffee, tea, fruit, toiletries, etc.) were incredible and so appreciated on my quick stay. The area is near a hospital and walk to restaurants and things. It's the city, but I didn't feel unsafe. I parked on the street without a problem as well. I am an Airbnb Superhost myself, and I felt like I got some great ideas and learned on this visit as well as enjoying a new place for a night. Thank you for that!

Karen's place was lovely inside- our basic issue was the wifi didn't work at all and we absolutely counted on it to use for planning our activities, how to use the unfamiliar transportation system , for events, and for planning our meals especially being vegans. The lack of not having a reliable wifi in the location of Eutaw Street made our time stressful- so it was hard to completely enjoy the very nice loft and relax - for most of our time we stayed - this was definitely unforeseen, Other than that the place is cozy, with nice beds, bedding and interesting painted brick walls , pretty rugs, , cool art lamps, utilitarian treatments ,lovely soaps , a great writing desk, funky tables , camp chairs and Scrabble of course!!! -overall- a truly wonderful place indeed. - Karen was a good host -and she definitely is an artist that is talented in creating a nice , unique environment that is welcoming for guests

Response from Karen:
Scott contacted me about the wifi & I relayed that sometimes restarting the hub is necessary. When I did not hear back from him, I thought all was ok. Sorry to hear it was problematic. I am however switching carriers. Glad you enjoyed the space!

Clean, comfortable & open space. Very conveniently located. Everything was as described. Yes, it can be noisy at night, so take advantage of the white noise machine or bring ear plugs.

I am an architect/ artist in the design practice, MANIFOLD design, with my partner, David Naill.
We make furniture, sculpture installations & work on small urban restoration and rural projects. We live and work in downtown Baltimore.

One summer, pre-Airbnb, David and I traveled through Europe via train & stayed with different people offering available rooms. We had amazing experiences, including staying on a boat in Amsterdam, in an Italian palazzo, & in some very cool modern flats. Our hosts were charming. We have been together since and now have two teenagers! The experiences as a guest & host through Airbnb feel similar and I have met great people!

I love visiting Italy as much as possible and have participated in the last three Venice Architecture/ Art Biennales as well as the Fuorisalones in Milan. I am a considerate and neat guest that hopes to be out enjoying most of the day but appreciates a pleasant space to relax and recuperate.
