Far West Texas casita on the top of Scobee Mountain overlooks Fort Davis. On a remote mile high mountaintop with 360 degree views of the Davis Mountains. 20 plus minutes from Marfa and Alpine. Close to all hiking trails and area attractions. Newly renovated and furnished. All wheel or 4WD only. There is now a field for Air BnB to collect and remit to us, our local occupancy tax for Jeff Davis Co. That percentage is 7% and is paid to Jeff Davis Co.

The space
The views are spectacular and you have them all to yourself yet you are close to town. Unobstructed 90-mile view to the south and a 30-mile panorama to the north.
The house has high wooden ceilings and cool plaster walls and is cooled by mountain breezes and ceiling fans. No air-conditioning, however there are Dyson Fans, and the windows can be configured to help generate a breeze.
The full sized well equipped kitchen joins the living and dinning room. The house has an open floor plan with views from everywhere. The shower has a view of the mountains and the bathroom opens to an outdoor shower. There is a Queen sofa fold-out bed and all linen provided. A true getaway that is close to town. The house is newly renovated and furnished. All Wheel Drive or 4WD only.

Guest access
Ideal for a couple, we have it furnished so that children (<10 years) also have a space. We prefer two adults. There is no privacy as it is an open floor plan. It's not suitable for small children as this is a mountain top home surrounded by steep drops.
There is another observation deck about 100 yds. from the house that overlooks the Ft. Davis NHS and is an excellent spot to take in the beautiful West Texas sunrises.
