Value for money central location 1 bedroom flat

So glad I picked this place, so many facilities for an international traveler to take a nice rest before getting to Edinburgh. The town itself has a very interesting textile history and I picked up some beautiful fabrics there.

Scottish Borders' private estate

Samantha was friendly and helpful but never intrusive. The Garden Flat at Woll House is spacious with great views from the grassed area and the bedroom. The bed was exceptionally comfortable; the sitting room had two comfortable settees. We did not use the log fire (for which logs were provided) because the radiators warmed the rooms despite the high ceilings. The flat was equipped with a modern LG Smart TV with the usual range of apps running from the BT broadband router, other than on our last day when internet connections appeared to go down over much of the area; we went to the Cross Keys pub in Ettrickbridge where the router was flashing red, so not a problem restricted to Woll House: just a feature of a remote area. The portable TV aerial (a flat black square) came to the rescue when lodged against the window. The kitchen appliances worked well. There is a lockable store for bikes; Samantha agreed to keeping my immaculate road bike in the corridor inside the flat.

Lower Tweedknowe - ground floor villa Melrose

JaneRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Spacious and beautifully furnished, we had everything we needed and felt at home straight away. Comfortable bed, lovely sitting room enhanced by the period features (alas the weather was too warm to light the wood burner!), well equipped kitchen and great bathrooms. Lower Tweedknowe was perfectly placed, in a quiet road but close to the centre of Melrose and all it has to offer. We enjoyed our stay very much and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
