We had a great time in Whanganui with lots to do over the school hols. While we weren’t in the house very much, it was comfortable and very well appointed for our group from 11 to 82! The backyard and games room are excellent for families.

This house was perfect for our family group of 9 adults. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking large meals, and it was great having two full bathrooms. The fire and some heaters kept us warm at night.

What a beautiful surprise Bookdale has been. Opening the front door you’re faced with a wonderful feeling of peace and relaxation, of carefully chosen pieces of welcoming furniture, books to delve into, and all you need for a family get together. We were here for a family birthday, meeting up across the Tasman and Bookdale was the charming setting. Tess has created something special here for those appreciating stylish interiors, and all in a convenient location with great views of the Whanganui River and town. Loved it all!

Perfect homely feel, and everything available for a comfortable stay.

House was well equipped and very spacious.Lovely large back and front gardens.Bus stop nearby but not many buses so we used taxis into town and back. Host was very helpful on the two occasions I called her. There were only 2 of us but would be great for a family. We enjoyed our stay.

Helen was absolutely incredible to deal with, and her house was beautiful. It’s one of those special places where all the little details are thoughtfully taken care of — extra extension cords and plenty of plugs by every bed, cosy electric blankets and lots of extra blankets for chilly nights. The kitchen and bathroom were fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, just like being at home. The location was perfect too — the lounge gets gorgeous sun during the day, and it's only a quick walk to the lake and a 10-minute drive into Taupō town. The supermarket is just a few minutes away, making it super convenient. We had the best time coming together with friends to celebrate a birthday, and Helen’s place was the most perfect setting for it. We couldn't have asked for a better spot!

The house was exactly what we wanted, very comfortable. We felt very at home. Thanks Pam for such a lovely home.
