Old Town Lake Retreat

Take it easy at this secluded, waterfront cabin near beautiful Magnolia Beach. Fish or launch kayaks from your front yard. This rustic property is located down a dirt road that can be very difficult to access when it rains a lot. 4x4 vehicles recommend. During dry times, the road is fine. Wildlife of all kinds are sometimes seen, many species of birds, bobcat, deer, and sometimes snakes. Alligators live in Old Town Lake, much like any body of water in South Texas. Swimming not recommended.

“A Stay on The Bay”

From the front porch swing enjoy the sunrises & the moon over the bay, along with the shrimp, oyster, & crab boats going in and out of the harbor. With 3 bedrooms to accommodate 6 adults comfortably, a futon, & a blowup mattress, this is a great place for a family getaway, fishing trip, business trip, or to just explore what Port Lavaca and the surrounding Bay area has to offer - Beaches, Nature Walk, fishing piers, bait shops, historical markers, a history museum, golf course, dining, and more.

Bring the family or a group of fishing buddies to this great place with lots of room for fun and lots of amenities. This home has its own private beach (this is a shell beach, not like a gulf beach), immediately adjacent to Magnolia Beach Park. Only 200 yards from the boat ramp, this cozy cottage has amazing views of Matagorda Bay with a patio to enjoy the sunrise. Five miles down Magnolia Beach is Indianola Fishing Marina, which has a bar and restaurant with great food, and a fishing dock.

Redfish, Speckled Trout, Drum, crabs and other saltwater fish are abundant around the pier. Dolphins, birds and other sea creatures are everywhere. Ocean going ships navigate the ship channel. Salt air, ocean breezes, gentle waves and star filled nights are the ultimate stress reliever.

We are approximately 3 blocks from the beach where you’ll find a boat launch, free fishing pier, crabbing bridge. This is a great place to kayak, jet ski or windsurfing. This house has a king size bed, queen sofa sleeper, bunk beds, 2 smart TVs & WIFI, kitchen with appliances & a coffee bar, charcoal BBQ pit. We’re pet friendly with a non refundable $75 deposit.

Note: the observation deck is on the same property about a minute walk from the vacation property. Enjoy the coastal breeze from our observation deck with spectacular views of Matagorda Bay and the soothing tranquility of the passing barges. Magnolia Beach is a few minutes away, and the new State fishing Pier is bringing in big redfish! Just 12 minutes from town and shopping/ restaurants. There is a free boat ramp nearby and another in Magnolia Beach- and yes, we have room for your boat.
