Family-friendly vacation rentals in Petoskey

The hosts were very responsive and communicative. The AC kind of went out and the hosts promptly got someone out to fix it. The setting was beautiful! We enjoyed a couple days on the boat (Northaire rentals), then did day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Mackinac Island and then a down day with the kayaks and SUP. My husband enjoyed fishing off the Dockside Pier. We enjoyed ice cream at Moomers, local cider at Royal Farms and our best meal at Toonie’s for Friday fish fry. Us southerners should have been better prepared for colder water and later seasons. The longer days also threw us for a loop but still a great first trip to Michigan!

We had a wonderful stay in my favorite up north town. Chelsea’s place was adorable and it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to be. Loved the yard, the water, the decor…everything was perfect.

Brenda’s house was more beautiful than the pictures! We enjoyed our visit. We were happy that the items we forgot to pack were already at the house for us to use. Very prompt in answering all questions, which made preparations seamless. Many family memories made during this trip!

Our family of 7 plus one small dog had a very nice stay at this cozy cottage. It’s convenient to Cheboygan and Mackinac Island, and Jennie was a welcoming and responsive host. We also appreciated all the little touches for the dog. :)

Was a great place to stay in a good location to get to the main downtown area without getting stuck in local traffic. I was concerned about the ambulance noise due to how close to the hospital it is but never had any issues the entire week with outside noise from the hospital traffic.

The Memory Maker was all that we hoped for and so much more. We had initially intended to find an Airbnb on Torch Lake but once we saw this place we booked it right away and it was the perfect choice. We still trailered the boat a quick ride to Torch for an adventure but spent the majority of our trick on Elk Lake and loved it. This Airbnb thought of everything and we wanted for nothing! We took our four adult children and their significants and our grandbaby and we all had plenty of room to enjoy our stay! Hank and Alaina

We had a great time at the Flying Fish! There was plenty of room for our large party and the house was stocked with everything we could need and more. Our kids loved playing in the sand and lake and we all enjoyed just hanging out, grilling and using the kayaks and paddle boards to enjoy the lake! Angela was amazing - providing details on everything we would need to know and was super responsive with any questions we had.

What a fabulous place! Tom's house was just as described, neat, well appointed, and with lots of outdoor toys. Rent the pontoon if you can--that was the biggest treat! Everything was there that we needed, including extra toiletries which turned out to be perfect given we forgot some! Easy to spend a week here, with quick access into TC, a big screen to watch tv at night, and the great outdoors to spend the days in hiking with the dogs. We highly recommend Tom's place. He was so easy to work with and we really enjoyed our stay :-)

We stayed with another couple at this condo for a golf trip and loved everything about it! Convenient location and the views are unrivaled! The condo was very clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable! The hosts were extremely responsive and accommodating! It was a lovely stay and we would definitely recommend it!

Absolutely loved the location of this rental! It was like a 3 minute walk over to the yellow chair. So, so easy! The condo is also fully stocked with anything you might need for cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is decorated super cute, was clean and very accommodating. We would stay here again for another ski trip.

This location was perfect for our winter get away. Check in was easy, the house was clean and ready for us to enjoy time with our family. We were a group of 8 people, four adults and four children. there was space for all of us to spread out and enjoy time inside as well as outdoors. Beds were extremely comfortable! The cabin was located close to many activities such as shopping in Gaylord and snowtubing at Boyne Mountain. Andreia was helpful in providing suggestions for things to do. our group enjoyed using the club house pool as well. overall our stay was perfect. I would absolutely book this same cabin again for another family vacation.

My 4 kids, husband and I have been coming to Shanty creek resorts for over 10 years. This is the first time we stayed somewhere other than the resort hotels. We enjoyed we were able to bring our dog on this trip, we had a kitchenette, and we did more in the area because we had to drive ourselves. This gave us a chance to explore and save more money. By staying in a place more reasonable than the hotel and we were able to cook ourselves and didn't have the added expense of a dog sitter. 4girls sharing one bathroom worked out better than I thought. Place was great and super clean. Loved the space and fit the three families perfectly. Only bummer was no access to the pool but that was out of the owners hand and she was going to follow up immediately on the change in the process.

Worked perfectly for a wedding in the area and for our family of 6. Loved the outdoor amenities.

I stayed at Melissa's place with a group of 4 other girls for my sister's bachelorette party. Not only was the space perfect sized for our group, but the girls and I could not get over how amazing the property was. We obsessed over the view from the kitchen window, the decor and gingham curtains in the living room, and the loft bedroom. Everything was so well done and thought through and we spent a majority of our time during the weekend hanging out at the house, having dinner on the front porch, and admiring the baby pigs!! And when we did venture into Sutton's Bay or Traverse City, the ride was smooth and had beautiful scenery of up north Michigan. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked and the linens were definitely adequate for all of us to sleep comfortably. I will definitely be booking here again!

We had an amazing week at the cottage! The location worked well to visit many Northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula attractions and after sightseeing we looked forward to returning each day to fish, sit by the fire, hang out in the hot tub, eat dinner, or just relax at the cottage by the river. We will definitely keep the location on mind if we make it back up to that area again.

My husband and I love the Leelanau peninsula and try to go up once in the spring before the craziness and once in the fall each year. Tiffany’s place did not disappoint. The property its self was magical, private, and everything as described. The location was 5 stars for what we enjoy - Leland, Suttons Bay, Northport, Glen Arbor and all in between! Would HIGHLY recommend staying here!

We stayed at Cathy's place while having plans at Nub's Nob. The location was absolutely perfect. Cathy was incredibly friendly and helpful. The house was beautiful and comfortable and it truly felt like a home away from home. We would, without a doubt, stay here again when in the area.

Bill was a very nice and responsive host, giving us anything from movie recommendations to good restaurants in the area. Any time I messaged him with questions he messaged back within the hour. The house was just as beautiful as expected and very well cleaned and maintained. I definitely plan on going back in the future!
