We stayed as a family of 7 with older teen / young adult 'children'. The house and location are stunning with lots of space and beautiful scenery. We made great use of the pool and BBQ and all felt relaxed and at home straight away. Jessy was very helpful at all stages of our booking and stay. House and host thoroughly recommended!

Manuela's house is full of charm and tastefully decorated. Manuela is very responsive and attentive. The inhabitants of the village are also very welcoming and in particular the managers of the local grocery store. Parking in the courtyard is more suitable for city cars and compact ones. For long sedans and SUVs several maneuvers may be necessary to get in and out of the courtyard. Otherwise, there is the option to park the car for free around the house. We also appreciated the location that allows you to be quiet and set back from the hustle and bustle of big cities, take walks, reach Penacova and its river beach of Reconquinho in 10 minutes (as well as other river beaches) and access in 5 minutes to the N2/E801/IP3 expressway. To summarize, I would recommend Manuela's house!

We had a wonderful experience at Vumba. Since the time of our arrival, we have been greeted with great hospitality and welcomed into a house in perfect condition. Unspeakable. The decor of the house deserves special highlight, made with extreme good taste, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. We make the most of the tranquility of the countryside and all the amenities offered. The pool space was one of our favorite places to relax. However, one suggestion would be the installation of stairs to facilitate the entrance and exit of the pool, as well as an outdoor shower, which is usually customary in environments like this. It is important to mention that because we are in the countryside, it is natural to find some mosquitoes which in no way diminished the quality of our stay. We recommend, however, that you come prepared for this. It was an excellent experience, a little piece of rural paradise. And get breakfast, it's worth it!!!

Excellent stay. Our on-site hostess was very welcoming and considerate. The setting is beautiful and the apartment is superb, very tidy, very well-equipped and really very clean. The pool and terrace overlook a splendid view of the surrounding hills. Very good location 30 min from Coimbra, 45 min from Viseu or 1 hr from Porto. Many hikes possible. Lake with possibility of water activities 15 min away. Shops 10 min away on Penacova.

Lovely overnight stay here at 9 Arches, only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! Silvia is a wonderful host who has perfected the art of being friendly and warm but giving you privacy. Her home is AMAZING, it has everything you could need for a brilliant getaway, the pool is great! Phenomenal option for a big family or group holiday. Highly recommend!
