Countless cultural, historical and recreational opportunities exist within a 30 mile radius. The James River and Appalachian Trail are but minutes away. The name, "Edifice Rex" is to honor the caretaker on the property, a German Shepard named Rex. You will not have to interact with him ( he wears a radio collar) but he welcomes attention.

We had a lovely stay at Dovies Nest. It was spacious, clean and inviting. Nice amenities. We loved having the fireplace as it was uncharacteristically cool during our stay. It was very close for great hiking nearby and Bedford is a quaint little town to visit.

We had a great stay celebrating our 10 year anniversary and also a birthday. The house has everything you could need and we loved cooking on the grill and loved that the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. The house is the perfect layout for kids and dogs as well and the hot tub felt amazing after we hiked Crabtree Falls. The proximity to town and the local pie shop was perfect. We would definitely recommend to friends and family and would love to come stay again.

The cabin was perfect! The surroundings were beautiful and it was just the right size for our family. Beatrice was very helpful and had everything clearly laid out. More than anything, we enjoyed being outside and bird watching!

The hot tub is positioned on a gravel patio, providing a view of rolling green hills and majestic mountains in the distance. Nearby, two wooden adirondack chairs in vibrant red and a white table enhance the outdoor setting, inviting relaxation amid nature.
