Soi’s Guesthouse is a super place to stay when you’re in Kyoto! All the hosts were super helpful, giving us recommendation and even helped us out with an office for one in our company. The street is also really peaceful and quiet, but still very close to the old town. Would definitely come back!

I loved my stay in Uji, absolutely fell in love with the town. The apartment's in a very convenient location, at the end of the main street, next to Uji bridge and Byodo-in Omotesando which is lined with shops and restaurants. Depending on which station you come from it's either 5 minutes or 10 minutes by foot. I liked my room (japanese-style, upstairs), it was nice and quiet. The host and his family are a quiet bunch, you barely notice them. They are out a lot but you can always contact them via message, f.e. to request a fresh towel or another blanket or whatever you need. You can use the lobby (= living room/common room) upstairs which has a couch and a fridge till around 11pm. My only complaint is that the downstairs shower had a bit of a mold problem (but there's an upstairs shower too). Also, they have a dog (you barely see or hear it, but you can smell it in the entrance area), so if you have dog allergy beware of that.

A pure sanctuary to relax and rejuvenate. The location is at the top of beautiful and quiet Koyodai. The combination of the warmth of Sachiyo’s and Justin’s hospitality and the impeccable design of their home and the meals unmatched in terms of quality of ingredients and flavor was perfection. I am grateful for the simple touches of care and creativity each day. I felt welcome and so happy. I look forward to seeing them again. My heartfelt thanks go out to them.

We were expected right in front of the house upon our arrival and introduced to house and Kyoto. Of course, you can't expect luxury from the place, but it has fully fulfilled its promise of being a traditional Japanese house, so we felt very comfortable. Sharing the bathroom with the owners was never a problem, it was always available to us. The room itself is very spacious and quiet. The area was great, with Katsura train station you are quickly in the center of Kyoto and even avoid the confusing central station in Kyoto. In Bahnhofstrasse West (call it that way) there was a cafe that we visited for breakfast from seven o'clock (Oak Food). East of Katsura Station there is a number of traditional places we have 焼肉 おもに visited. Excellent meat grilled on the finest charcoal at the table (believe it's called Yakiniku) in a simple inn. Attention, the barbecue makes the restaurant heavily smoky.

Ten minutes on foot from Osaka Station. The mattress was firm and comfortable to sleep in.

The house felt like a home. Our room was beautiful, everything we needed. In a more quit place in Kioto, but with one metro you can go everywhere. Mama and papa are the best. We now have a Japanese family. If you want a home away from home, come here.

What a beautiful traditional Japanese home to stay We totally loved the old house, beautiful decorations, the inner courtyard and our room. Everything was perfect! Chieri is a great host, we felt very welcomed and home right away. We were on a road trip, so we also enjoyed that we could wash our clothes. And we tried out the traditional japanese bath. Perfect! Chieri, thank you for everything! Hope to see you someday again!

I had a wonderful time relaxing both physically and mentally during this stay. The scent of wood the moment I opened the door of the room was pleasant, and the unified amenities with Muji were very easy to use.The view from the window is also fantastic, and I would definitely visit again whenever the season changes. I had a 2-year-old child, so it was difficult to move my luggage, but the accommodation was very helpful.We also really appreciated your warm hospitality when we went out for an evening meal and took the time to drive us. Thank you very much for a relaxing stay in a nice room.

The owner is friendly and the onigiri experience made for breakfast was so nice. If I go to Kobe again😆 next time, it's an accommodation I want to stay in!😁😁

We stayed at Kuniko's apartment for a week. We have three kids, including a crawling baby. The place was a little tricky to find at first but once we found our bearings it was easy and very close to the station, less than ten minutes walk with kids and luggage. I hadn't received check in information 24hrs before our booking so I messaged to ask and was send details quickly. Self check in was easy and efficient. The apartment was very clean and spacious and clutter free which I appreciated with a baby. There was space for her to crawl around and the tatami platform for beds worked out perfectly for sleeping arrangements. A large fridge freezer and kitchen amenities were appreciated. Having a washing machine in the apartment was very convenient and clothes dried quickly in the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and different each day. The kids were also happy to eat there every morning. Kuniko was very responsive and always helpful. Would highly recommend. 😊 Thanks Kuniko!

A very pleasant stay, the host is very friendly, although he doesn't speak Chinese, but we still talked a lot using English and a translator, about Japanese culture, our kitten, it was a very happy experience. In the morning, the host also prepared a delicious Japanese breakfast for us, giving us a very good morning. The room is very clean and tidy, with a strong Japanese style. I was surprised the moment I opened the door!There is also a notebook in the room for guests to write their travel experiences. You can see the memories of guests from all over the world on it.
