Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Original Highlands, Louisville

We traveled here from Nashville with our three teenagers for a quick visit to Kentucky Kingdom! Our son, 18yo, claimed the basement as his personal chill pad, while the two teen girls chose the "twin beds" room located on the top floor. Us parents ended up choosing the cozy bottom bedroom facing the backyard. We all appreciated having our personal spaces at the end of a busy day! Honestly, though, when we first walked in, I was blown away to see original home details that are usually ditched with older home remodels. The doors and doorknobs, the wood framing around the doors and windows, the wood flooring, THE FIREPLACE... all lovingly rescued! I lost count with how many times I said I wished we could find a gem like this. The parking area behind the house, down a quiet alleyway, was very well-lit and felt extremely safe. Also, for us, we did not experience ANY concerning noise disturbances, or witness anything nefarious.😉 Thank you, Luke & Katie! We enjoyed your charming home

The neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful. The house was exactly what we were looking for. We have a golden retriever and this was our first opportunity to take her on vacation. It worked out great.

We throughly enjoyed David's home. It in a peaceful neighborhood with a great backyard! We used the kitchen alot during our stay and it had everything we needed! The laundry amenities were also very convenient with detergent and stain remover provided. David was very responsive and understanding! We absolutely hope to stay here again!

We had a great stay at David’s place! Honestly it was a shame we were so busy, we hardly got a chance to enjoy the house. But the time spent there was exactly what we hoped: clean, peaceful, & cozy. It would be great for a longer stay. The beds are comfortable. All appliances and amenities are new and clean. The kitchen is well stocked with snacks as well as anything dish, pan, or ingredient that you could need. The back deck is lovely - it was really nice to have a quiet morning with some nespresso out there. David is a very communicative host. He is incredibly responsive, easy going, and helpful. 10/10 would stay again. Thanks David!

Great place to stay- the apartment feels really new and is in a modern and clean building. The apartment itself is large, has a nice kitchen and nice layout (bedrooms are not connected). The area is beautiful and you are steps away from a wonderful walk/hike/run at the Falls of the Ohio state park. All amenities are there. The bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner - I think this was a short oversight as the rest of the house was very clean and tidy.

We had a WONDERFUL stay, the apartment was gorgeous. The pictures didn’t do it justice. Bruce was very responsive from the beginning of my booking through our complete stay. He went above and beyond with little details to make the stay so personal. We loved the muffins 😊 I highly recommend staying here while in the area. We had a great stay. The apartment was nicely furnished, mattresses were very comfortable, and Michael was great. It's located in a very quiet neighborhood a short walk to a handful of nice bars and restaurants. I will definitely see if i can stay here again on my next visit to Louisville.

Fantastic rental for our group of four guys. Parking was great as our suburban had no problem getting in and out of the covered assigned parking spot which was right next to the entrance of the courtyard where the rental is located. Rental was spacious and had everything we needed. Spacious bedrooms and large couch in living room for us to gather. Plenty of great bars and restaurants within a very short walk. Easy location for uber pick ups and maybe a five-ten minute ride to the areas we ventured out to. Our host Shannon was great as she was very quick to reply. All instructions were easy to follow. Would definitely stay here again.

What a lovely place! My family was so comfy in this big, beautiful home. Lots of places for family hangout time, but plenty of room to spread out as well. Jessica and Kir have thought of everything...this place has it all. Our favorite hangs...the front porch, the sun room, and the pool of course. The kitchen has everything you could need for preparing family meals and plenty of seating for dining. The hosts greeted us at their property and provided us with all the details about how everything worked. They were super responsive and very knowledgeable of the area. We loved our stay and hope to visit again.

Perfect little home away from home in the heart of Louisville. Nettie’s place has everything you need along with convenience of being able to get to anywhere you’d want to go while in town. Annette is the sweetest host who goes above and beyond to communicate and ensure you feel taken care of. If we’re lucky enough to visit the derby again in the future, we would definitely look at staying here. Thank you for a great stay Annette!

The space was clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed to feel at home. From movie nights in the comfy living room to making meals together in the fully equipped kitchen, every moment felt special. The kids had room to play, and we loved enjoying quiet mornings on the porch with coffee and birdsong. It was a truly relaxing and refreshing escape, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.
