It is part of the shale villages and has a river beach and marked pedestrian paths, close to the Santa Luzia dam and several other river beaches. Casa do Linho is a charmingly restored 3 bedroom stone farmhouse in the picturesque village of Vale de Souto. It's one of the oldest houses in the village built over 400 years ago. There are several river beaches close by which are perfect for a dip in the heat of the Portuguese sunshine. 200m up the road is the local cafe shop. Sertã and Oleiros are 10mins drive away, with larger supermarkets and some excellent restaurants.
