Vacation rentals with breakfast in Oita

A lovely place about 20 minutes drive from Saiki. Highlights were: incredible sashimi (saiki is known for its fish); local onsens (one of them over looking the sea with salt water); hiking in the surroundings and on the nearby island. I would recommend coming with a car as the bus service is fairly infrequent. However the family very kindly took time to drive us around to the places we wanted to visit. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay within walking distance of Yufuin station! The room was very clean and cozy. The Italian breakfast provided was delicious too! Especially loved the onion soup and homemade pudding! :)

Our journey began with a short drive from Taketa. The guest house is located in an idyllic countryside location alongside a river. The area felt peaceful and enchanted. Taiji welcomed us with a quick tour of the house, which is rich with history and character. The kaiseki dinner was the highlight of our stay. Every dish was impeccably presented, made with quality ingredients, and tasted like no other! It is as if we were instantly teleported from a rustic countryside cafe to an upscale restaurant! Our breakfast was equally impressive. Adjacent to the house, there was a hut with a traditional wooden bathtub inside. Bathing there while taking in the sights of the mountain, the trees, and the gentle flow of the river creates a meditative experience where time seemed to stand still. The gentle stream provided a perfect white noise for our peaceful rest. It’s a shame that our tight schedule prevented a longer stay. The host she was so sweet and kind and caring. I was traveling alone and she gave me clear instruction on how to get around via bus and train. She picked me up from the bus station bc I didn’t have a car. She helped me Call a taxi. She was worried about me bc I was by myself. Her house was beautiful and in such a peaceful area. Seeing the horses was a cool experience. There is also an ostrich farm and a rice terrace within minute walking distance. Highly recommends. Thank you so much! :)

Wow! We had a very special time at Keiko’s guesthouse, and we recommend it to anyone who likes delicious Japanese food, wants to visit Kunasaki, and most of all is interested in meeting a fun, curious and very generous host. Keiko treated us like special guests and members of the family, from the pickup at the train station through to our discussions and visits to local sites. She was wonderful with our baby, too. The house is very comfortable, with tatami floors, garden views, and cool decorations. Thank you Keiko!

we spent a very pleasant 4 d'ays at Kevin's place. it's directly above their café, which is a great place to start the day. Kevin and his family we're super nice, they invited us over for dinner, which was a great experience for us as a travelling family. We also did a photoshooting with Kevin, since he is a professional photographier. The house is really spacious for Japanese standards, and has a lot of nice toys for kids.Thanks for thé nice time!

The hospitality and food were off the charts! The food was unexpectedly incredible and the best meals we experienced on our three week trip. OKUMA and his wife were perfect hosts. It felt like a homestay. The accommodation is traditional and simple and the somewhat remote location is a perfect respite from the hectic cities. We walked up into the hills and around the island and travelled to Saiki and Oita.

Kaoru-san's place was absolutely tranquil and peaceful. Her daily meals and her hospitality made us feel completely at home. This was an amazing retreat and we can't wait to come back again.

The view here is breathtaking. If you're looking to get away from the crowds this is the perfect place! My son and I stayed here, we walked the shoreline and found beach glass, shells, driftwood, and bamboo, we loved it so much. The house is so comfortable and large. We had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a large tub with a big window overlooking the bay, it was so relaxing. We cracked the sliding door to hear the waves at night, it was the best. The hosts are amazing people, so kind and thoughtful, they had breakfast food in the refrigerator for us and juice & milk. We ate at a tonkatsu place down the road that was great! If you have a chance to stay here, book it! There are also two ponies on the property that are adorable. We had such a wonderful stay here, thank you for letting us spend the night in your beautiful place.💜🌊 Oh, and the night view of the city across the bay is SO BEAUTIFUL!
