MACOMO is named after "Makomo (true bamboo)". It is a plant of the Poaceae family that grows in colonies along the water's edge and is also called "Makomodake". Because it has a purifying effect on soil and water, it has been called "the grass where the gods dwell" and "the grass of fate" since ancient times, and is considered a sacred plant. It is used as a mat (mushiro) and a tool for purification in Shinto rituals such as at Izumo Taisha Shrine. We hope you have a pleasant trip to this inn. When you pass through the tunnel of autumn leaves (maple), the inn surrounded by trees appears, and the surroundings are very quiet. It is an area where birds (woodpeckers, cuckoos, thrushes, etc.) and animals (flying foxes, foxes, deer, hares, etc.) coexist and thrive. We have set check-out by 2 PM so that you can enjoy your stay. It is a private room in a renovated traditional house on a property surrounded by trees, located on a stone wall where two rivers converge. There are no buildings in sight, and you can enjoy the sound of the river, the sound of birds, and a sense of unity with nature. The water is spring water (water quality has been inspected). Depending on the season, there are people who come and go along the river next to the inn, aiming to play in the river and go to Kappa Falls. If the weather is good, you can enjoy playing in the river, as well as a BBQ and campfire (depending on the season and weather, you may need to refrain) with the ingredients you bring. (Please be careful when handling fire.) Rest assured, we also have cookware, a microwave, and dishes. If you walk upstream along the riverside path, you will find Kappa Falls about 150 meters ahead. Please prepare food and drinks for dinner, etc., before check-in.(It's about a 20-minute drive to the supermarket) Only the 400m section to the inn is narrow and difficult to see, Once you arrive at "Camu Tsubaki-yama", we will show you around.

It can accommodate up to 10 people, so you can enjoy your own private space, not just for families, but also for groups. The garden is also 190 ㎡. You can barbecue, and your children and dogs can run around and free their minds. You can bring your dog inside and let it sleep with you. Children and dogs will have more fun moving their bodies and freeing their minds than talking, so please let them run around indoors and outdoors. It is on a road with a view of the sea, about a 3-minute walk from the inn. We recommend going to see the morning sun while listening to the sound of the waves and the chirping of the birds. Toyosato City, where the inn is located, is a forest therapy base. Forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and listen to your heart with both the inn and forest therapy. It takes about 5 minutes by car to the station, Jinlin Lake, and Yongwang Supermarket. The nearest Lawson convenience store is about 3 minutes by car. The environment is elegant and quiet, surrounded by greenery. Free parking and free pick-up service are provided (reservation in advance, details to be discussed). The house itself is a Western-style Japanese house. You will have a 100-square-meter private wooden space. There is a spacious yard outside the house where you can book a barbecue. Make memories of "ours" in Hayao Miyazaki's Totoro Town. 1️⃣ The BBQ start time cannot be later than 7:00 PM. We renovated a 160-year-old traditional house in 2023. The total site is 700 tsubo (2300 m ²), and the building is 170 m ², making it very spacious. While it is an 8-minute drive to Kumamoto Castle, it is a cottage where you can relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. The garden is full of trees and flowers, including a large camphor tree that has been there for over 160 years, black pines, Japanese maples, and bamboo forests, so you can enjoy the trees and flowers in all seasons. The host lives in the adjacent building, so you can feel at home. Take a big, deep breath and refresh yourself from the heart. ●Here’s what you need to know · There are many mosquitoes and insects because there is a garden with many trees.
