Cottage vacation rentals in Mull of Kintyre

My friend and I chose this cottage for a quiet getaway with our dogs and it was just what we hoped it would be. We were welcomed by Barbara and Graeme upon arrival and they were very kind and helpful if we had any queries at all. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. The views from the bedrooms were stunning and there were plenty walks nearby the property, which were especially lovely in the evening with the sunsets. It was the perfect scenic escape we needed. Thank you Barbara and Graeme (and Rosie the golden retriever of course!).

Everything was great if we could give Janeen and Niall 10 stars we would they are amazing hosts so warm and welcoming🥰 and the view from the hottub is absolutely beautiful. Iain and Laura couldn’t have been more accommodating - they went above and beyond for us! The cottage was immaculate and very cosy, with a lovely peaceful and private setting. It was easy to find, and parking was no problem. The bed was really comfortable, and we slept so well. The hot tub was a great size and the perfect temperature. Even though it rained during part of our stay, we could still enjoy it thanks to the cover. There were instructions for everything - from local takeaways to appliance manuals. They’ve really thought of everything. We’d absolutely love to come back again - a perfect relaxing break!

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

Squirrel Cottage was such an amazing find! Very private, open planned and cosy too. It had everything you needed, the dressing gowns were such a nice touch especially when using the hot tub out the back of the property. Within half an hours driving distance to Portrush, Portstewart and the beautiful North Coast.

It’s even more charming and peaceful than the pictures suggest. I loved every second in this cottage. The veranda had a pretty view over the landscape and the little garden area. You could hear the creek in the backyard and the birds sing. I LOVED the stone floor in the kitchen and bathroom area and the wooden flooring in the rest of the place. The bedroom and kitchen has high ceiling and skylights that leave room to breath (and think). And god, I loved the bathroom with the windows - taking a bath there is just as if you were in the middle of nature. The whole place is tastefully furnished and there is no clutter. Personally loved the kitchen (even the knifes were sharpened!). There are a few walking routes around the area and a village store nearby (although we went to a coop in Inverary that had everything we needed). Ross also helped out when we had a question and was super responsive — thanks again for this wonderful little oasis. I’ll certainly come back one day.

The place was lovely, cozy, and comfortable. I really like the effect of the fireplace below the TV. The kitchen is new and very nice, and it looked exactly like kitchens in those house remodeling shows on HGTV, like subway tiles, Dutch door.. And my friend really enjoyed our stay.

We couldn’t have picked a better place to finish our week exploring Islay and Jura. The cottage is an absolute dream. A mixture of back to basics and quality amenities. Located a 10 minute drive from Craighouse but also with great walks straight from the door. The paps right on your doorstep gave us the most magical sunset sight. Rain or sun whatever the weather Jura wears it well. And Mrs Leonard’s cottage is the perfect place to come back to and either warm up in front of the fire or sip a wine or a touch of the hard stuff in the garden. I hope we will be back

We had an excellent stay in Sue's well-appointed, comfortable and cosy accommodation. We loved the view from the dining table! Nothing is very far from anywhere on Arran and Pirnhill proved to be a good base. Sue was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Wonderful hosts, even offered to pick us up from the ferry port. Very welcoming and kind. The cottage is beautiful and in a lovely location. Very well equipped, including hair dryer, iron, and anything you could need in the kitchen. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic stay at this cozy countryside cottage. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the cottage had all the equipment we could possibly need — from kitchen essentials to comfortable bedding and even thoughtful little extras. The location is perfect if you’re looking to relax and unwind in beautiful natural surroundings. We enjoyed the fresh air and the calm of the countryside. The host clearly put a lot of love into the place, with plenty of charming details that made it feel both homey and special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, well-equipped escape in a lovely setting!

A great welcome from Fiona, and a lovely place to stay. We didn't come for the whisky but Islay has lots else to offer - we loved it!

The house was beautiful and the direct access to the beach was a lovely bonus. The village has a great, dog friendly, pub and cafe which was perfect for us.

We had a relaxing and restful couple of days at John and Dora's...just what was needed after a hectic month of travel. John was most welcoming and helpful and the biscuits were delicious. The accommodation was very comfortable and we loved sitting in the lounge with the warm sun shining in on us. We ate at the local pub and had a ferry ride to Gourock...most enjoyable. We had some trouble finding Oakdene but that was NOT due to the excellent instructions, but because of roadworks. A very helpful local pointed us in the right direction. If you want to experience a piece of paradise this is the place for you.

Idyllic place in a beautiful location - short walk to the beach and the rat race event. Was super clean, shower is great, bed comfy and perfect size for myself. I lucked out in a sunny week and the lil terrace table and chair got sunlight through the day. Lorna was super responsive and quick and efficient. A beautiful home nestled in an ideal location. We loved our stay here and the extra special touches of fresh bread, eggs and milk on arrival were so appreciated. Lorna is an excellent host with and excellent house. We will be back!

This was a lovely peaceful cottage beautifully equipped with everything you need. Welcoming hosts clean and tidy in a lovely location with a view to die for. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and wish we could have stayed longer

The description of a hidden gem is accurate. Peter and Anna have done a great job to set the cottage in woodlands surrounded by paths that capture the ancient mysticism of this part of Argyll with its many standing stones, cairns and hill forts. Their generosity was way and beyond anything we expected, with superb cakes and fresh bread prepared by Anna, and many other amenities throughout (soft drinks, range of teas, biscuits and pamper luxuries for a hot bath after a long journey). The cottage has a spacious lounge with open plan to kitchen and dining area, while upstairs there is a large bedroom with plenty of storage space. A great place for quiet contemplation but not so far from Lochgilphead, Kilmichael or Kilmartin for cafes, restaurants, pubs and museums. Plenty of hill, canal and shoreline loch walks in the area and this is an ideal spot from which to explore the peninsular of Kintyre. Thanks Peter and Anna for a very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful, peaceful, rural retreat close to everything. Very well equipped kitchen, modern and clean. We had everything we needed and Margaret and John were lovely hosts. Thanks again.

Heather was a great host. Communicative, helpful and thoughtful. The accommodation is a unique space with very quirky features. The bedroom is serene , tranquil and the peacefulness assisted in a great nights sleep. It is a retreat from a busy world in the most marvellously scenic village. Great cottage on a working farm. Even Billy the dog and the other farm animals made us feel welcome. Not to forget the friendly hosts !

Nicola was our favorite host. She left us some amazing goodies including some farm fresh eggs! She also had ice! That was hard to come by in our other air bnb’s. Us Americans appreciated it so much! Super cute and modern cottage. Super clean and organized. I highly recommend this home!!

A great spot to just relax. Lovely local hikes and beaches. Easy access to restaurants and coffee shops. The road to the coast can be a bit of an adventure but well worth it once you arrive!!!! Our host was lovely, very accommodating and with great local insights! Highly recommend!
