We loved Lasse’s cabin! The attention to detail was evident throughout the cabin. Everything was clean, tidy, and well furnished. Very comfortable with everything we needed, but without clutter. It was the perfect setting for my husband and I to spend a quiet, restful weekend. We enjoyed using the hot tub in the chilly weather and took trips into Chester and Brattleboro for restaurants, coffee, and antiquing. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return to this cabin if we return to the area in the future. Cannot recommend this spot enough. We did not bring out three young kids with us, but this place would have been great for them too as it is very kid friendly!

This was the second time I booked Erin’s place and my group and I loved it! The outdoor jacuzzi is a huge highlight. The house is spacious and very comfortable.

Awesome place near Stratton and Mt snow. Beautiful surroundings and tranquil stream nearby. Wood burning hot tub worked really well. I started it and went to dinner for a couple hours and when I got back it was over 100 degrees.

if you’re looking for an off the grid home away from home for a weekend getaway, this is the place for you! what a lovely property and space to breathe in the fresh mountain air and decompress. def recommend to anyone at anytime of year. it snowed every day we were there and it made it all the more magical, yet we were still able to drive into “town” or to manchester if we wanted (very efficient snow clearing in VT😁)

Our stay was fantastic! The location is great with lots of land to explore. The house was rustic but had everything we needed. Note that there is no TV - this was actually a plus for us as it encouraged us to spend more time on other activities. The hot tub was clean and had a great view. Overall, it was a tranquil experience in a great location. I’d recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet and relaxing weekend away.

The cottage was just what we were looking for for a romantic weekend away. The house was cozy and well stocked and the area had lots to do from shopping, to hiking, and dining!

Where to start, such a beautiful location, amazing views from every angle. Kathleen you have created the perfect little cottage, it feels secluded yet close to everything. Very convenient location, everything seems like it's a 10 to 15 minute drive, activities, grocery or just somewhere to be at peace. One of my favorite things was the five minute drive to the local CO-OP, it was such a change up to feel so involved with the local foods and produce provided, here from the Massachusetts south shore its something that we do not get a chance to experiance. Me and my girlfriend came for our anniversary and I'm not sure it couldve been anything less than perfect. Every single thing about the location, the ammenities, the activites, even Kathleen could not have been more transparent, she was very responsive during the booking proccess and more when we were on location, she stressed that if we needed anything to let her know. This is without a doubt somewhere that we are going to stay again.

This was probably the fourth or fifth time we stayed at Denis' cottage, and it was as great as ever before. We are looking forward to our next visit.

The cabin was perfect for a cozy weekend getaway! In fact, it was even more lovely in person than the photos. We did some lovely hiking in the area and visited nearby farms. Our dog loved the space and slept like a log after a day of hiking. On the day it rained, we had the best time staying inside, reading, playing games, and listening to music. There are clear instructions everywhere to help make sure everything is used properly. While it was too cold and rainy to make too much use of the outdoor amenities, we were able to easily grill. We hope to come back in the summer to make fire pits and swim in the nearby brook! Overall wonderful stay, it was everything we were looking for.

This was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay for my son’s wedding.

This was my 2nd time staying here and it was just as great! This time it was during the winter when I really needed to rely on the woodstove for heat. That stove gets cranking after a good layer of hot coals are established. I have to say, though, the only thing I would love to see is a damper/flue on the stove. Without those them it causes a lot of smoke to come out into the cabin when adding wood/tending to the fire. I feel it would help control the level of heat and smoke that much better. Everything else was absolutely perfect. I can’t wait for my 3rd stay.

I’ve had my eye on this place for a few years so I was very excited to stay here on a quick weekend trip! It’s very cozy, spacious and beautifully decorated. The four of us had a lot of room to relax and have our own spaces (two couples). The beds were comfortable and so was the couch. It’s also much closer to the town than I thought, making it easy to grab dinner or supplies. We were pleasantly surprised the spot we wanted to try for dinner was right down the road (Pearl’s Place was great!). We hope to be back in the fall sometime!

Sarah's cabin was very cozy. Nice long sofa in living room accomodates many ppl! Nice to hear the river nearby- would definitely recommend and stay agajn.

They definitely have put a lot of thought in supplying everything you can think of needing in an Airbnb. It was unexpected but well appreciated. The home was very cozy and clean. The only suggestion I have is that the bathroom showers and floors could use an update. Otherwise, my family enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay here again if we can. Thank you for being a great host, Lorraine!

Seth & Andrea were super communicative and attentive to our requests. The house is beautiful, clean and in a quiet area. We had the best night sleep in years! The rooms are warm and there's plenty of living rooms space.

Becky is a fantastic host! She communicated with us very clearly and in a timely manner. This cabin is in a very private location that allows you to connect with nature, all while still in the comfort of a cozy cabin with a smart TV! The place was very tidy and smelt great for a smaller space with a composting toilet. The lack of running water was not an issue for us, as we were still able to do things like wash dishes and brush our teeth with the resources Becky provided. When it came time to leave, we were stuck in the snow and Becky and her husband did not hesitate to help us. They got us out of there in no time! We will definitely be visiting the cabin again.

Brian's directions were spot-on which was good because he warned us that GPS might send us to the neighbor instead. Driveway was clearly marked. Cabin is lovely with detailed instructions (with clear photos) on how to operate the generator, use the wood stove, and use the water. It was fun to learn how an "off-grid" cabin actually operates - we had plenty of electricity when we wanted it when the "Very Easy to Start" generator was turned on. We turned it off when we didn't need electricity so we could hear the beautiful bird calls and breezes blowing through the trees better. Entire cabin was very clean, the bed linens were very soft and comfy. There was neighbor using a yurt on a hillside off to our right, but other than that fellow driving out past our cabin once, we had the whole place to ourselves. We enjoyed walking down abandoned roads on the property and taking photos.

Such a great house in the woods! It had everything we needed for our girls ski trip. Great location to Bromley ski mountain which was only 7 min away, and if you wanted to go to Stratton mountain it is approx 40 min from house. We enjoyed the fireplace as the temperatures dropped into the single digits. There are 3 bedrooms located on the first floor, the beds were very comfortable. The host was very attentive to all our needs and fast to respond to a text. I would highly recommend The house in the Woods to anyone looking for a getaway to Vermont!

This was one of the best Airbnb stays we have attended. Very quiet, cozy and the views are beautiful. The Star link WiFi and 32 amps of EV charging was a huge bonus as well. Harold was very attentive and made our stay very welcoming. Thank you again and would recommend to anyone. We will be back!

We had a great time at Tarah’s place. Nice and well equipped house, close to the slopes. We will definitely come back.

Joseph’s cabin was exactly the peaceful getaway I needed. The WiFi was very strong which helped me take my work meetings with ease during the day and the local restaurant recommendations were great to visit at night.
