We have stayed at Gertrude's place in Mtwapa twice now, she is a great hostess and eager to provide a good experience. We communicated a few items that we needed to have updated and she took care of it. The main issue with this home is the lack of wifi and the lack of reception for cell / personal hotspot, especially for biz travelers it is tough for email / conference calls. Apart from that, we really enjoy staying at Gertrudes and definitely recommend it for folks wanting to stay nearby to Mtwapa and local beaches. Thanks again, Gertrude! :)

The apartment is exactly as it is on the pictures.very clean, cozy and comfortable.All amenities work perfectly, its a great convenient place. Kipachu is a great host and very good in communcation always happy to help. I would highly recommend, we enjoyed our stay.

To be honest, I had a great time staying Sandra's place. Very private and peaceful i had the way compound to myself, very clean pool, the place is easily accessible, Wilfred was very welcoming, and was available all through in case I needed any ass. I would highly recommend the place to anyone. Sandra I will come back, and thank you.

Lisa was an excellent host. She has an absolutely beautiful space that has all the amenities to guarantee an amazing stay. We spent our new year’s holiday her villas with my friends and we were all blown away by her hospitality and we felt more of friend/family than guests. Dave was awesome with the kids, the rooftop enabled a great view of fireworks during new year’s celebration and the staff were extremely kind and ensured our rooms were clean and comfortable throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better find on Airbnb!

Great location and amenities all around, and the unit we stayed in was lovely and well maintained. The service and responses to inquiries or asistance by management was also very quick. Only issue was a couple of power outages on 2 nights (one due to the apartment running out of tokens and the 2nd due to a power cut-off in the main switch box). However on both occasions, the response by management was quick and power restored immediately. Look forward to returning again!

**Location not as shown on Airbnb** HOWEVER, the location was actually (I think) better than Bamburi, although it depends what you like - Mtwapa has a lot more going on and is way less tourist-centred, and there is a beach in walking distance. On arrival, Carol was very helpful with directions. I took a cab from Mombasa airport for about $20. There is AC available however I preferred to the normal fan. The area has occasional power cuts and water pressure issues but there are ways around it ! They have several bathrooms so if one shower is coming out weakly you can try another. It was no issue. Regular change of linen. Relaxed atmosphere. Carol is a great cook and is available to show you round the area if you wish. As a solo traveller I took her up on the offer and had the most incredible time. It's a very interesting & fun part of the world. (I recommend a trip to Gedi Ruins for affordable information, sightseeing and playing with monkeys. Nearby Watamu is beautiful)

Fantastic host. Ann was very welcoming and the house is clean and beautiful. The breakfast was great too. The place looks just like the photos. The pool is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Staying with Ann was beautiful. Communication in advance with Ann went smoothly and also during the stay Ann was there to help and advise you, among other things, with tips on how to rent sun loungers on the beach or order a tuk tuks, as we did not have an African mobile phone number. The beach was within walking distance. Breakfast was a surprise every day except for a freshly squeezed juice and a big fruit cellar, as there was never the same thing. Drinking water was also available for free.

A welcoming entrance features a wide staircase leading up to the house. Soft lighting illuminates the facade, complemented by natural materials and surrounding greenery. The thatched roof adds a distinctive character, while palm fronds frame the scene, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Nora's. The room was very clean and the bathroom is very spacious with 2 large windows. The breakfast is very filling and delicious. The only con was that the wifi didn't work properly in the room. So if you wann get good reception you'll have to sit in the common area or around the pool. which was absolutely fine for me. The poolside is very relaxing and quiet.
