Hi. We have a vacation cottage for rent at a farm near Akureyri. Distance to Akureyri is 20min driving. The cottage is located on our farmland and we live in the farmhouse about 800m away up the hill. We do not farm livestock but there might be the occasional sheep grazing the fields. Guests are welcome to pick mushroom on the land and august is prime blueberry season and you can pick blueberries right outside the cottage.

We can absolutely recommend staying at Ólafía’s place! Ólafía is very responsive and incredibly thoughtful. The tiny house has everything you need—and more—including both hot and cold tubs. One of the best guesthouses of our trip. Warm welcome with visit of the house by the hosts. The guesthouse is large and pleasant with carefully decorated themed rooms. The beds are very large and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and overlooks a terrace with hot tub. There are two fridges for guests with storage boxes depending on the bedrooms. It feels like home in this guesthouse 🙂

It took some effort to find this place, but it was definitely worth it. The house is clean, the host is friendly, and although it's across the river from Akureyri, it's not too far—after all, most people staying here are probably driving anyway. Overall, I'd give it a 4.2 out of 5.

I stayed for one night during my long road trip and it was fantastic accommodation! Atmosphere of this place is charming. Quiet and calm place, exactly what is needed if you need to rest afer a very long road trip. Bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. Steinunn is friendly and helpful.
